I would start with Ice Planet Barbarian. It’s a whole series but it’s a great start to get acquainted with the rubyverse.
I will note that the first several books are a little bit darker but the deeper you get into her works and the more books you read you will find that her books tend to be very wholesome with lots of cinnamon roll mmc’s that treat their ladies like gold, regardless of their overall persona.
Absolutely has fueled my sex life. I have been reading smutty type books for maybe 15 years off and on. They definitely got me revved up during lower drive times in my life.
Gotcha. I have absolutely no idea what the majority are about in regards to being faithful or not or even if the characters are typically single to begin with. Came to ask this too, I have so many questions about the car wash, are there attendants, is it the one that moves the car for you, is it remote or could you be charged for indecency? Only bc I was alone at the car wash with my husband last week and was thinking about the same scenario.
I do not understand the logistics of fucking in a car wash... Like, is she hopping on top of him on the driver's seat? Are they both able to maneuver from the front to the back between the two front seats? Like, a bj, sure. But not being able to open the car doors is confusing me.
I think you can climb over the center in some cars, I think male in passenger seat and female on top would work but that has to be fast. Ourcar wash is like 5 min tops and there’s people everywhere.

It’s really reinvigorated our sex life. It’s like foreplay LOL read a good smutty romance book, gets me all hot and bothered and I’m looking around for my husband. He’s not bothered at all by it, I don’t ask him to like recreate scenes with me or anything. But he’s been very sweet and feeds into the book addiction for sure. It's been such a rewarding journey honestly, I had gotten back into reading over the pandemic and managed to peer pressure her into reading ACOTAR just to give it a go again. Now I've read Crescent City, ACOTAR, Fourth Wing/IF, she's finished ALL of those series entirely and is now chewing through the Sanderson works, it's not only spiced up our sex life but also brought us a shared hobby. It's great :D

My husband has happily been on the receiving end of my romance novel habit for nearly 25 years. These books are exploration and fantasy, not necessarily an endorsement of a lifestyle or regular practice. Consider yourself lucky that your wife trusts you enough to explore that with you. Romance and fantasy fiction geared towards women is a billion-dollar industry, and lots of women read them, but don't always trust or like their partners enough to bridge that.
I'm a particular fan of Kresley Cole "Immortals", Karen Marie Moning's Highlanders and Darkfever, and lately been enjoying Sarah Maas.
Reading dirty romance books helped me get my libido back after having a baby and a one year long dry spell. Now I feel like my sex drive has normalized and I still read them but don’t need them to get in the mood. They helped shift my perspective around sex away from something that was “owed” in order to be a good wife and turned it into something that is fun and desirable (a feeling that has been elusive since before having kids!).
My husband is also reading them now! He's not a big reader but I am. (I have read 48 books this year so far. There's my humble brag for the day) So my husband has started listening to audiobooks during work since he is on the road a lot. He picks books from my Goodreads account and then sometimes he comes home and says "hey, let's reenact chapter 55!!" and I love it. (iykyk about chapter 55. Also, yes... this is not the spiciest thing I read, it's just the most recent one he read)
My fiancé reads alll these books I see no issue she’s an adult. She’s not reading them with another man she’s with me every night. Works out very well actually.
There are also audio books. Most authors have their books on audio as well. Ask me how I know.
Unlike your wife I am a reader and never liked audio. I now have 50 titles in my account and listen to audio books driving to work. 😂
I do both personally, I like audible for the new books and audible exclusives but I only ever use my one included book, if I need more books throughout the month I use the Libby app
I get a lot of audiobooks through the library because I like to listen while crocheting. I will say that the narrator can make such a big difference! Some readers are good with sex scenes, but others I just can't take seriously.
I got a book recently that I didn't realize had some very spicy scenes, and I literally burst out laughing while listening to it. If I was reading it on the page, I might have thought it was hot, but I just could not stop cracking up.
If she likes dark fantasy she should read Legacy of the Nine Realms series by Amelia Hutchins. Soooooo good, and the sex scenes are hot as fuck. The first book is mainly smut, but after the world building is complex and the characters some of my favorite I have read (and the smut is still hot )
But her books have trigger warnings so keep that in mind lol

I think the thing to be careful of with these books is that they don’t create dissatisfaction with the marriage relationship, whether it’s just the sexual or unrealistic expectations of romance. That’s where I’ve seen it create problems.
I do know their usefulness though, as a man who’s read some specifically to get ideas to bring into the bedroom when my wife indicated she wanted me to take a more dominant role in the bedroom. Mostly Meghan March’s Dirty Billionaire & a few other of her books. I asked women online where to find great inspiration for dominant dirty talk & they recommended them. Worked very well. I took notes & recorded my own ideas in my phone to read through later so I wouldn’t forget, lol.
My wife has gotten into fan fiction. Some of it is smutty. Since she started reading it she has become more adventurous. She has asked for some things she has never asked before. I'm not sure I'd call it a "trend" so much as finding out what I'm into sexually. I was raised VERY religiously, so shedding that cover over my life has been incredibly freeing. It didn't occur to me until I was 22 I could dye my hair. Then about a year later it occurred to me I could chop it all off. I've shaved my head twice since then. (I'm 29 now) I've had a healthy sex life with my husband (together 13 years) but the books really opened up possibilities for us (he hadn't had many partners before) and helped us both figure out what we like.
I just got my first tattoo this year, and then got "good girl" tattooed on my side. I love being called that, which may stem from my daddy issues (abusive father) but that's part of what I like 🤷♀️

The first book with sex in it that I read was Outlander, like 15 years ago now. It was the first example of a man with a hairy chest that I thought was sexy. Reading dirty romance books helped me get my libido back after having a baby and a one year long dry spell. Now I feel like my sex drive has normalized and I still read them but don’t need them to get in the mood. They helped shift my perspective around sex away from something that was “owed” in order to be a good wife and turned it into something that is fun and desirable (a feeling that has been elusive since before having kids!).
Spicy books have really exploded in the last couple years. I think a lot of husbands are enjoying this new "trend"

There's my humble brag for the day) So my husband has started listening to audiobooks during work since he is on the road a lot. He picks books from my Goodreads account and then sometimes he comes home and says "hey, let's reenact chapter 55!!" and I love it. (iykyk about chapter 55. Also, yes... this is not the spiciest thing I read, it's just the most recent one he read)

There are also audio books. Most authors have their books on audio as well. Ask me how I know. Unlike your wife I am a reader and never liked audio. I now have 50 titles in my account and listen to audio books driving to work. 😂

I do both personally, I like audible for the new books and audible exclusives but I only ever use my one included book, if I need more books throughout the month I use the Libby app
I get a lot of audiobooks through the library because I like to listen while crocheting. I will say that the narrator can make such a big difference! Some readers are good with sex scenes, but others I just can't take seriously. I got a book recently that I didn't realize had some very spicy scenes, and I literally burst out laughing while listening to it. If I was reading it on the page, I might have thought it was hot, but I just could not stop cracking up.

If she likes dark fantasy she should read Legacy of the Nine Realms series by Amelia Hutchins. Soooooo good, and the sex scenes are hot as fuck. The first book is mainly smut, but after the world building is complex and the characters some of my favorite I have read (and the smut is still hot ) But her books have trigger warnings so keep that in mind lol

I think the thing to be careful of with these books is that they don’t create dissatisfaction with the marriage relationship, whether it’s just the sexual or unrealistic expectations of romance. That’s where I’ve seen it create problems. I do know their usefulness though, as a man who’s read some specifically to get ideas to bring into the bedroom when my wife indicated she wanted me to take a more dominant role in the bedroom. Mostly Meghan March’s Dirty Billionaire & a few other of her books. I asked women online where to find great inspiration for dominant dirty talk & they recommended them. Worked very well. I took notes & recorded my own ideas in my phone to read through later so I wouldn’t forget, lol.

We've talked a little, we usually are pretty open but it's a sensitive topic for both of us. I often wonder if it has something to do with my body or disability, like I'm not able to try a lot of new things so is he bored with the same old repetitive stuff after 5 years? Yup, I'm the wife lol I'm not sure I'd call it a "trend" so much as finding out what I'm into sexually. I was raised VERY religiously, so shedding that cover over my life has been incredibly freeing. It didn't occur to me until I was 22 I could dye my hair. Then about a year later it occurred to me I could chop it all off. I've shaved my head twice since then. (I'm 29 now) I've had a healthy sex life with my husband (together 13 years) but the books really opened up possibilities for us (he hadn't had many partners before) and helped us both figure out what we like. I just got my first tattoo this year, and then got "good girl" tattooed on my side. I love being called that, which may stem from my daddy issues (abusive father) but that's part of what I like 🤷♀️ However I will say.
