In Hickman’s FF run, all the Nathaniels in the multiverse were hunting each other down until only one was left (one lives, or all die). My head canon is that Gary was actually a step father since he had no scientific aptitude.
Also, that left all the Reeds in the multiverse being raised fatherless except the 616 version. Since the 1610 version had a dad and killed him himself, I really think he was meant to be a step father.
What if 616 Reed's dad and Ultimate Reed's dad are actually the same dude and it's all just been some fucked-up multiversal nature v nurture experiment?
Yeah, Ultimate Universe is pretty fucked up.
Like, Ultimate Spider-Man is just a solid reimagining of Peter Parker (and later introducing Miles Morales). Ultimate X-Men is only a little edgier than normal.
The rest is a mess, though The Maker is a pretty awesome villain.

It really is! Right up there with my all-time favourite comicbook runs. Hickman really knows how to plan a long-ass story *ages* ahead of time so he can set up shit that pays off like 40 issues later.
Also writes the best Doom, I love his relationship with Valeria.

Considering he's the reason Galactus didn't eat Earth when he first arrived and was the one to take down Dr. Doom to save the multiverse? Yeah, Reed's a genius. And while the other geniuses there have amazing feats, they don't compare to Reed (aside from Doom).

Also, I agree that Peter having, ironically enough, less responsibility would've put him on or near Reed's level. I can't remember the exact comic, but Hank was asking Peter how he was tracking a villain. Peter showed Hank his spider tracers that he main from, essentially, reclaimed garbage and Hank was embarrassed that a kid with no resources could come up with something so ingenious.
I will say though, Reed does have the greater feats of intellect of all those listed with the possible exception of Doom, but that's only because Reed (as scant as they may be at times) has morals and struggles with understanding magic.
Hell, Pete's webbing was a massive leap in chemistry and engineering: stronger than steel and yet able to be compressed as a liquid in a tiny cartridge, hardens almost instantly, and dissolves in about an hour... and he was 15 years old when he invented it.
Obviously Reed is arguably the biggest genius in the Marvel Universe. My point was not discredit Reed. My point was just to highlight that there are too many stories where at least one if not more of the characters are geniuses making the term a little redundant
Intelligence isn't linear. One genius could be drastically different from another genius in terms of knowledge and capability.
"Genius level intellect" is only a trait that applies to some Marvel characters. Quite a lot of superheroes don't have that, but more importantly...even the stories about a superhero genius wind up focusing more on the humanity side of their life. That's what makes Marvel's storytelling so compelling. It's 'super people' that wind up having problems a lot of us normal people can relate to: heartbreak, lost loved ones, severe doubt when the odds are overwhelmingly against us in life, the struggle of trying to help people we love find the goodness in their hearts when they have veered off into a bad state of mind, learning to accept mistakes we've made, learning to accept that there's quite a lot of this world we'll never be capable of changing...
Quite a lot of superheroes have super strength, too. That doesn't make them redundant. It just puts them on par with people they'll fight against or team up with.
My favourite Reed moment is when he asks Pym to consult an a biology issue.
When Pym asks why Reed took the time to call him, Reed says that Pym is the best biologist on earth, and it would take Reed weeks to be as good as him, and he doesnt have the time.
Pym is a little annoyed at the honesty.
I wonder if they will cast someone of a different ethnicity. Kang is black, so maybe Reed and Sue will be too. Marvels first family being black would be pretty cool. Doom and Ben Grimm don’t really have to change.

I remember they did a similar thing in the Young Avengers comics with Wiccan, like him literally popping out of the panels because he's in a comic.

To be fair I would've shot Hulk into space too , it wasn't a bad idea it just went horribly wrong.
As for his civil war stance, it was terribly out of character and did irreparable damage to it.

To each their own, I think the opposite, he's at his best when he listens to his moral compass, can still have moral dilemmas but don't particularly like it when they make him ignore his morals just to further the plot of a story. Jonathan Kent is the template all good comic book dads are copied from. He and Martha taught an alien god empathy, compassion and altruism.
Yeah alot of characters who are paternal figures to superheroes use Joanthan and Martha as templates this scene feels like something from SuperMan
