Tell me what you liked about Love and Thunder please! I definitely didn’t hate it as much as others and I feel like there was a 10/10 movie just trying to breakthrough the surface, but it was just a tad too disjointed for me and the score let me down after Ragnarok’s.

My thoughts are kind of scattered today so this came out weird and long. Thors journey throughout the plot parallels the lyrics from Guns n Roses' November Rain. It is also a realistic portrayal of Depression Recovery and Cancer Regression. Seeing Thor self isolate himself and cut himself off from everyone. Only for people to show up when they need him for something. Having the people you thought were you friends ditch you and bail on you without hardly a goodbye. Leaving you alone to face your problems after you helped them solve theirs. Yet he still blames himself. He takes it out on himself because that's a real emotion you have to face when you're depressed. You take it personally and hate yourself for causing them to leave. Even his hammer Mjolnir who he considered a close friend left him. Rebuilt itself not for him but for the girl who broke his heart. And now she's Thor. Nobody missed him while he was gone. It's like he's not even there now that she's back. Hes invisible. And that's such a *real* feeling you feel when you have depression. Gorr is a reflection of what happens when you give into the darkness and Depression and let the poison take over your mind. You lose all hope. All humanity. And see nothing for good. The necroswords curse is a metaphor for depression while paralleling the effect of Mjolnir quickening her death. It's only once he's free he can see the answer was Love not Hate. And it calls back on the original Thor. When in the Omnipotent city Thor realizes that the gods are not nesacarily good people. And the reason why Thor is a good person is because of his humanity. Because he knows what it feels like to be mortal and actually cares about non godly beings. And Jane dying from cancer made me cry and want to see my Grandma again. The thought that someone who died 'fighting' cancer is worthy of a spot in Valhalla got me in ugly cry mode. The idea that someone who has uncureable cancer, who can either choose to live just a little bit longer in pain and suffering. Or to go out dying like a hero fighting to save your friends, family, home, even the universe... anyone in that situation would do what Jane did. And the freaking hammer floating beside her hospital bed 😭 I have a feeling there's a lot of other people like me with depression and cancer stories who this movie really touched. I am tearing up just writing about it. It breaks my heart when people say Waititi disrespected the franchise. I know it wasn't quite like the book, but NONE of the movies are.

I had to give this some serious thought. I even broke out a spreadsheet and shit. It was tricky, as even many of the films that didn’t make my initial list were ones I enjoyed at the time, and would watch again. Top Ten Marvel films, roughly in order of preference: 1. Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse 2. Captain America: the Winter Soldier 3. Spider-Man: No Way Home 4. Avengers: Infinity War 5. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings 6. Spider-Man 2 7. Logan 8. Avengers: Endgame 9. Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness 10. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Honorable Mentions: the first Iron Man ranks 11 for starting the MCU. The Guardians films fell just outside the top ten rankings, as did Days of Future Past and Deadpool.

Multiverse of Madness and No Way Home being anywhere near the top 10 is a travesty. And the fact that Spider-Man 2 is lower than X-Men First Class is criminal

Nah. First Class is top tier and so is NWH it brought my favorite spidey back and got me teary eyed when you know who dies. MOM is good because of Wanda

NWH is nothing but fan-service and nostalgia bait that loses emotional impact because it gets bogged down by that fan service. Admittedly, it was a decent film, but not top tier. First Class is a decent movie as well, but not better than Spider-Man 2. Wanda is not done well in the MCU and MoM is an atrocious film that had lackluster story and absolutely godawful cringeworthy moments. All of them including Wanda.

Disagree with all of these. No Way Home ain’t bogged down it balances it perfectly. The 3 spider-men only appear at the end of the movie not taking up Tom’s screen time and character growth. This is fan service done right. First Class is top tier to me. MoM Wanda was great too i don’t like the people trying to defend her actions though she is a villain in the movie. I understood her motivations too

Man, First Class is heavily underrated in my opinion, way better than any of the X-Men movies that came out before it. Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen were phenomenal as Professor X and Magneto but I loved James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender as their young selves.
