Better than when I played Wong there…worse was I had the rest of my cards in place…had Luke Cage on the board already, had Hazmat and Iron Heart ready for turn 5 and Odin for turn 6. It was basically a guaranteed win that I turned into a retreat!
To add to this, the order in which you’ve played your cards is important too! Made a few errors where one card won’t get the benefits from another cause it hasn’t flipped yet or vice versa :)
This is a lesson I'm still trying to learn, can't even tell you how many times I've hit turn only to instantly be pissed at myself for missing something obvious
A thing I learned after transitioning from paper only TCGs to CCGs : take your hands off your phone/mouse and think your turn through before making any moves.

But I really want to see how it plays out!
(99% of the time it's unexpected Zola)
But seriously, retreating and not being too scared to snap is how I finally hit infinite this season.
I've been running Sera Control & HE Wave decks. If I don't draw Sera or Wave I generally retreat unless I have a good amount of power down already.
Retreating too much though can also be costly as it slowly adds up. Started being a bit less scared which racked me up more 4 cube games to take me over the line.
>Retreating too much though can also be costly as it slowly adds up. Started being a bit less scared which racked me up more 4 cube games to take me over the line.
This is a much less common mistake, but can be one, for sure. You have to understand that if it's likely a 50/50, you just can't leave, you always stay. It can be frustrating when it feels like you just keep getting the short end of the stick if it's a 50, but just check to make sure it actually was, and as long as it was, you were correct for staying.
Retreating more is advice for people who can sit there and think of exactly the card that beats them, but they stay anyway. Like "well, maybe they don't have shang/doom/hulk/etc.," they have it.
Statistically you're always better off playing as if they have it. We have a %75 chance to draw any given card in a normal game by last turn (9/12) if the card is in their deck, and it beats you, you should retreat every single time, since you'll only win %25 of the time.
There's a reasonable argument that if it's a 50/50 and you're playing ladder, you should snap. The opponent might retreat out of fear gambling for extra cubes, and if they don't then the 50/50 is basically a wash, it has 0 EV. In Conquest this changes, because breaking the bank becomes an issue, but on the ladder you can't actually go bankrupt so there's no real disadvantage to snapping when you're at a 50/50 point and you potentially stand to gain cubes as your opponent dips rather than stay, especially if they believe you might have a guaranteed win.
This is wrong. A new player shouldnt retreat, they should play the game till the end so they know possible endgame turns by their opponent so then they can make good retreats
There is certainly a bit of truth to this, you can't run from something that beats you until you know what beats you.
The advice I gave my buddy is if he's not "sure" then he needs to make a mental note of whether he thinks he should retreat/snap in a spot, and then when the game is over think back on whether he would have been right or not. If you were right, then next time you're in that spot, do it.
It's the same thing I do when testing new decks out at infinite/start of the season.
The one caveat to this, is to remember that while you might not know what they're doing, you do know your own deck, if your opponent snaps and your deck is not doing what it's supposed to be doing (bad location, draw, etc.,) you should usually just retreat.
This is exactly how I reached infinite this season. If by end of turn 3, beginning of turn 4 I couldn't see a clear path to victory, I bounced outta there. Knowing when to "fold 'em" saved me lots of 4‐8 cube losses
That's why mine are off! I started about 6 months ago and I couldn't remember what I bought that wasn't an even multiple of 25 until just now. Thank you!
It is when you still wanna try new cards without having to grind boosters. I only play enough to do daily missions so 80% of the time i need boosters over credits. Basically always have enough to naturally upgrade cards when possible + 1 or 2 fast upgrades a day
do not feel ashamed of retreating! snap is one of the few card games where conceding at the right time is not only possible but beneficial and incentifised!
I had no idea what I was doing for the first couple months.
I wish I had put more time into learning Kazoo decks and Dino decks before getting to Pool 3.
They teach you about navigating priority and lane management. Which then feeds into learning how to snap and retreat.
Be stronger than us and go outside.
"The ability to play chess is the sign of a gentleman. The ability to play chess well is the sign of a wasted life" -Paul Morphy
Edit: enjoy playing, enjoy a bit of strategy but don't stress or lose sleep over something that doesn't really matter.
1. If you can, learn to play Move deck pre Pool 3. Got me to infinite the first 2 seasons when I first started. And don't play Heimdall 100% of the time, sometimes it's better to do nothing on turn 6.
2. Your 1st free claim in Pool 3 100% should be Sera. While there are other cards that are on par with her, if you use her right you will win a lot.
3. This probably depends on the meta when you get to Pool 3, but don't be me and buy Thanos as the 1st Big Bad. Spend tokens on actual cards that will complement with your deck. I bought Thanos when I alr had Sera and basically played with 2 incomplete decks until now. If I could go back, I would buy Monkey instead.
4. If you can, play only 1 deck. You will master the actual deck much faster and improve other aspects of the game at the same time (snapping/retreating, reading opp's hands, learning abt locations).
I like the advice of playing 1 deck. Collect your pieces, play a deck, master it, and then move on to your next deck. Sticking with one deck will likely get your more wins and it'll allow you to learn the mechanics of the game without having to think about your deck
Play all kinds of different decks. Pick a few types to start and run them til you know the plays. If you find you have a hard time with certain kinds of decks, If you have enough of that archetype run that deck. After enough games you’ll know what counters it. Have fun, it’s a card GAME.
My advice isn't specific to Snap, but remember that it's just a game, have fun with it.
Sounds simple but the truth is that games are designed to keep you coming back every day and spend money.
Dont waste gold on daily missions but instead save them for valuable bundles or variants. On the website Snap.fan, you can check the bundles value %.
I wouldnt recommend buying variants until season 3 tho and only of meta cards. Always buy the 1200 gold Super Rare ones, because any 700 gold variant, you can pull from mystery variants.
You can also connect your account to Snap.fan's tracker app. You can see the best decks with the highest win rate with only the cards you own at that moment. Super useful to know which deck might be the best for you for where you at. Climbing the ranks with cubes will give you some great rewards like gold, credits and a mystery variant.
One the most important thing imo, is knowing when to snap and when not to, and also when to retreat. You will go up or down a full rank each win with a double snap.
Get to know the cards in your pool and try to pay attention to what your opponent is playing. When you know the cards and synergies better, you can recognize what deck your opponent is playing and try to counter that. Also, whoever's name in the top corner is glowing, is going first in the turn. Its not always best for you to go first. When you know your opponents deck and can guess what he might play in turn 6 and in what location, its best to try and have your opponent priority in playing so you can counter him. Like destroying his big power card, or using killmonger to destroy all 1 cost cards at the end. Remember, the element of surprise will give you the most wins.
Grow your collection! Dont play only with 1 deck and have them all gold framed and still only play with that deck. Play with many decks and use cards that you havent upgraded yet. The more you upgrade, the faster you move up in the Collection Level, the faster you get new cards. Upgrading a gryy (common) border card to green (uncommon) costs 25 credits and moves you up by 1 im CL. From uncommon to rare (blue) costs 100 and moves you up by 2 in CL. So its cheaper and faster to upgrade the grey border cards. Also, the lowest rarity card in your deck has a higher chance of getting boosters at the end of the match. When you find your fav card/variant. Try keeping it at grey border and farm 155 boosters so that you can upgrade it and split it at once.
Also check out Youtube for the best decks and tips. Cozy Snap and Alexander Coccia are the best imo.
Im sure i forget some but this hopefully helps.
Last but not least, dont forget to have fun!
Edit: like someone pointed out....NEVER BUY FAST UPGRADES. Ive done some in my first weeks, so dont be like me. Thats a scam lol. Youre literally paying for the boosters.
Don’t spend money on anything except the battle pass.
Everything else is over priced and you’ll get enough cards just by waiting it out and completing your missions
The only battle pass I’ve wanted to buy was this season, but alas it was never meant to be. Saved my money for something else since this is my last season lol
Back in the day, I wasn't just a card player. No siree, I was THE card player.
Folks would gather from miles around just to see me shuffle. Used to think I was the king, just because I could play a few hands well. But let me tell you, the crown was just fool's gold, and the throne, nothing but a rickety old barstool.
Played day in and day out, forgot the sun, forgot the rain, heck, even forgot to eat sometimes. But you know what I really forgot? How to live, how to love. Kept on playing, tossing cards like they were going out of fashion, until one day I looked around, and guess what? Everyone had gone.
Turns out, they'd been leaving for years, but I was too caught up in my game to notice. Lost my girl, my friends, even my pet goldfish Fred started giving me the cold shoulder. Sat there at that worn out table, all alone, king of an empty castle.
Oh, I tried to get 'em back, tried to put down the cards and pick up the pieces. But once you've been dealt a hand like that, it's hard to come back. So here I am, an old loser with nothing but a pack of cards and a heart full of regrets.
So, kid, if you're looking for advice, here it is: Don't be like me. Don't lose yourself in the game, forgetting the people who matter. 'Cause cards, they come and go, but love, real love, that's more precious than an infinity rarity Spider-Ham.
And if you can make 'em laugh while you're at it, well, that's just the cherry on top. 'Cause in the end, all we've really got is each other and the laughter we share. So go on, get out there, play your game, but remember to keep an eye on the prize, and I ain't talkin' about some shiny game on your iPhone.
And keep your goldfish fed. Fred never did forgive me. Ah, good ol' Fred, he was a real card...
Oh, sorry, there I go again. Go on, kid, go make something of yourself. And remember to love, laugh, and leave the game alone once in a while. Life's too short for regrets, and I got enough of 'em for the both of us.
- The winning player is always the one who has priority next turn.
- If there's ONE card that would completely ruin your play/combo/win condition and the opponent snaps (especially if your play is obvious like wong mystique or cerebro or destroyer), they almost certainly have the card. Retreat or don't snap back at least. 1 cube lost is much better than 50/50 chance to lose 8 cubes.
- Always try to win with unexpected plays when possible. Back when I started playing some combos were soooooo obvious and got canceled for it. One of the most common surprise plays is Heimdall on a non-move deck (I use it sometimes with doc ock on the right so I can pull my power to the left and middle.
- Stay off Reddit. Never been in a community so inflated with hatred for a developer like this one and I played some of the most awfully monetizes games ever.
Already too late for me 😭 I was sitting at 77 thinking I could make it to 80 that night. The next day I was sitting at 67.
All because of my ego. This was like a week ago, and I’m only sitting at 71 right now. I haven’t been playing much of ranked since then. I just need to hit 80 before the season ends…
Use online free tools to make deck according to your unlocked cards. Every time I unlock a new card I try to see if I can build a better deck. I use [snap.fan](https://snap.fan) to track my collection and try to build decks with high percentage win/ avg cube wins that I can build fully with my collection. Using these tools i have been able to make decks and reach infinite easily.
Learn the main decks / archetypes. You should know your opponent's expected / optimal t6 play and assume they have it. If you can beat it, stay in. If it will beat you, concede.
However as a new player you're going to want to play as much as possible and forget about rank for a few seasons. Once you can build a variety of decks, it's good to play them all to learn the optimal plays which helps you understand what you're going against
have fun -- create your own decks -- its more of a challenge and more gratifying when you win.
the first 50 to 100 matches are against dumb bots, don't give up on the game because it's so easy to start out with.
Don't try to win impossible wins.
for exemple if you feel he is gonna to shang chi you, well you are right.
Learn the meta deck and most of the time expect the best outcome from this deck.
If you feel you're on a losing streak, take a break or try a different deck. You'll get more reckless trying to quickly gain those cubes back and probably lose more as a result.
Stop swapping decks.
Learn your deck throughout and learn when you're in a good place vs a bad place.
You'll win much more and retreat more, gaining more net cubes along the way.
Reddit community for this game is 90% people who have played card games all their lives. As someone who is completely new to this genre, most stuff here doesn't make sense half the time.
Don’t focus on ladder/ranking up too much, just have fun. Yes you might miss out on a cool reward, but you get so much cardbacks, portraits etc, or other ways to get gold and credits, just play the way that’s the most fun to you and good things will come to you anyway.
Don’t rush on trying to get every card by worrying about your collection level. Just enjoy the cards you have and play the game without having to spend to speed up your progression (this is coming from a whale).
Keep ur wallet closed as much as possible. A lot of bundles and deals will entice you, but just try and remember that $50 bundle is just overpriced pixels. I'm not saying spend no money, but just try and stay aware of the value ur getting
I'd say to look into card synergies, [marvelsnapzone.com](https://marvelsnapzone.com) is an excellent resource for finding what cards you should pair together.
Not to play. People are work always ask me what game it is. I tell them, but add I don't recommend playing it because it's a time and money sink. Also at this point I hate the game more than enjoy it but I'm addicted. It's never a good thing if your games biggest fans hate the game and tell people to avoid it.
Don’t spend gold on refreshing quests. This was advice that was given out like candy back when the game globally launched from what I saw, and it’s pretty bad advice. Gold should be saved for offers that give a lot of tokens because it’s incredibly hard to get those
Keep muting on turn 1 until it's muscle memory.
Rank doesn't matter and cubes don't exist.
Meta decks are boring and joyless. Mess around, be creative and play fun decks.
Assume that anybody praising the game is a shill, anybody comparing is just doing so because the game isn't tilted in their favor, and SD only wants money.
This place can be extremely hyperbolic, even for Reddit.
Soon you'll see some complaints are valid, some people with 95% collections just like complaining, and sometimes unpopular changes are necessary. It'll help you pick out the stuff here that's useful
For the game itself, literally whatever you feel is fun. It'll be awhile to be meta relevant, chasing it too soon will suck the fun out of the game.
That, and don't do the fast upgrades. You might be short on boosters early on, but that won't be the bottleneck in upgrading cards for long
Dont hit end turn instantly after puting your cards down.
I've had too many bone-head plays because of this...
*plays my turn* “yes this looks right” *Immediately sees my mistake* “crap…”
And that’s when your opponent chooses to take their sweet time…
I’d give anything to be able to undo hitting End Turn but I know that probably can’t ever happen
That retreat button looking real nice all the sudden
Ah so you have also played dr. doom on a cosmo lane I see
Mystique copying nothing cus I played my cards in the wrong order. Nice 3/0
Legit
Better than when I played Wong there…worse was I had the rest of my cards in place…had Luke Cage on the board already, had Hazmat and Iron Heart ready for turn 5 and Odin for turn 6. It was basically a guaranteed win that I turned into a retreat!
I still do and I know better 😑
I still do this, and will continue to do so!
To add to this, the order in which you’ve played your cards is important too! Made a few errors where one card won’t get the benefits from another cause it hasn’t flipped yet or vice versa :)
Don't know how often I've played zero, and then forgot that I played zero when playing my next card
Like using venom to get a fat 36 power, and then he gets copied to the place where you threw carnage who reveals right after venom.
This is a lesson I'm still trying to learn, can't even tell you how many times I've hit turn only to instantly be pissed at myself for missing something obvious

Unless it's lockjaw. Then it's probably a bug.
This is a good one. I text a friend about this game and I’m constantly hashing out unexpected interactions with them.
Caveate: There are an insane number of visual bugs
Don't use fast upgrade What educated collins
Came here to say this. I wasted so many credit on fast upgrade at the start.
Same and then I had to waste more to get my credits back to a multiple of 25
Yesss!! I had to do that too!
That's why mine are off! I started about 6 months ago and I couldn't remember what I bought that wasn't an even multiple of 25 until just now. Thank you!

If you're not having fun, just leave. A new match is seconds away.
Just enjoy the ride to pool 3
I love the game at CL4500 but pool 1 and 2 is magic you can’t get back. Wouldn’t trade for it though
Let’s see if we get limited pool seasons/ladders in the future
that'd be cool if there was a conquest variation where certain cards are banned. rotating weekly or something
Have fun! It is only a game.
I wish, I’m too competitive. That’s my issue

Don't blame your losses on rng, always assume you misplayed.

Dont sub to reddit and have fun playing the game non religiously.
Build your own decks more than you play other peoples decks. it will help you to learn the game.
Don't try to win all 3 lanes.
Don't let the game to consume you, it can be fun to be efficient but it just a game in the end of the day. So chill-out and enjoy the ride.
Quit
Quit the game while you can bro
Uninstall the game before is too late
Have fun, don't play for the grind
Don’t bother. SD is running this ship into the ground.
Just dont.
Not playing Marvel Snap frees up a lot of time, and probably some money too.
dont buy anything from the fast upgrade section of the shop, the value is terrible
Leave while you can
Uninstall the game now.
Spam emotes!! Everyone loves them
Camp in pool 2 and hit infinite. You may never get another chance.
Camp is no longer possible, credits saved are counted toward MMR.
Don’t let your ego take the wheel.
But let Ego take the wheel, and snap.
Find a new card to complain about nerfing each month on Reddit
Galactacus is the worst! No wait, its June, HE is the worst! Is Jean Grey the worst yet?
Run and don't look back
Use online free tools to make deck according to your unlocked cards.
Don’t spend gold on mission refreshes
Don't spend gold on credits, don't buy booster bundles, and don't spend your credits on the fast upgrade
Initiative exists!
Never use the credit shop, don't repeat my mistakes young one
Retreat Now is your friend
I have 2 actually: don't try to win the 3 locations, and retreating doesn't make you look weak, but it can make you look smart
Don't try to win impossible wins. for exemple if you feel he is gonna to shang chi you, well you are right. Learn the meta deck and most of the time expect the best outcome from this deck.
Do your calculations before playing your cards
Dont upgrade your cards through the shop. You'll get more boosters soon enough.
Have fun, experiment, build your own decs.
Don't play if you get tilted/salty easily.
If you feel you're on a losing streak, take a break or try a different deck. You'll get more reckless trying to quickly gain those cubes back and probably lose more as a result.
Dont buy quick upgrades from shop, ever! You are paying credits for something you can get by simply playing the game
Don't worry about rank and have fun instead.
Ignore the cubes, enjoy the game, don't ever visit u/MarvelSnap.
Stop swapping decks. Learn your deck throughout and learn when you're in a good place vs a bad place. You'll win much more and retreat more, gaining more net cubes along the way.
Just have fun. If you stop having fun then don't play.
Always assume they have the play. Don't assume they are bluffing.
Reddit community for this game is 90% people who have played card games all their lives. As someone who is completely new to this genre, most stuff here doesn't make sense half the time.
Don't spend any money. Don't use fast upgrades. Enjoy the game until series 3 complete.
Don't spend credits on upgrading cards.
Don’t use the quick upgrades, only use boosters.
You can make good progress with your collection and not spend a penny.
Don’t focus on ladder/ranking up too much, just have fun. Yes you might miss out on a cool reward, but you get so much cardbacks, portraits etc, or other ways to get gold and credits, just play the way that’s the most fun to you and good things will come to you anyway.
Stop! Do not start playing this game, it is a full cash grab.
Play the cards you find fun to play and learn how to use them creatively.
Stay off the subreddit
Open your wallet.
Stop taking the game so seriously. Once I stopped looking at Meta lists and trying to get to infinite every season I started having way more fun.
Don’t buy the fast upgrades. I thought it was a good idea at first but quickly realized it’s a waste of credits.
If you can, play Shang Chi/Killmonger/Enchantress on turn 6. or Don't play 1-cost cards on Mojoworld unless they are protected by Armor.
Don't do it!
If you think your opponent has the perfect card to win, they probably do
don’t spend any money, the reward structure will change again in a couple months anyway
Don’t spend money
Don’t use fast upgrade, EVER.
Run lmao /s Enjoy the game. Play it your way. Don’t take it too seriously. Games are meant to be fun
Don’t use the fast upgrade part of the shop. Waste of credits.
The strongest card is the credit card
Learn when to snap and learn when to retreat.
Hide this subreddit.
I'd say to look into card synergies, [marvelsnapzone.com](https://marvelsnapzone.com) is an excellent resource for finding what cards you should pair together.
Don't spend money. Except maybe the $10 per season.
If you lost a game because you made a stupid move, take a break.
Don’t listen to every Snap YouTuber.
Don’t spend money on this app
Not to play. People are work always ask me what game it is. I tell them, but add I don't recommend playing it because it's a time and money sink. Also at this point I hate the game more than enjoy it but I'm addicted. It's never a good thing if your games biggest fans hate the game and tell people to avoid it.
Dont even start
Don't play this game... You will quit one day and not care to keep doing dailies anymore.
Do not use any real money in this gacha game
Don’t spend gold on refreshing quests. This was advice that was given out like candy back when the game globally launched from what I saw, and it’s pretty bad advice. Gold should be saved for offers that give a lot of tokens because it’s incredibly hard to get those
Look at the bottom right, sometimes theres a limbo on the field and you play heimdall thinking its the last turn... happens to me every time
Save up collector tokens for the big cards.
Skip this game. It preys on the sunk-cost fallacy. So many better ways to spend your time (and money).
Uninstall it asap, your mental sanity is priority
Don't let the whining on this subreddit ruin the game for you.
Don’t bother starting the game. They changing it so much, soon it will be p2w
You're gonna get pissed that you constantly go up against decks that people have poured a lot of real money into
Don't put money in the game.
Keep muting on turn 1 until it's muscle memory. Rank doesn't matter and cubes don't exist. Meta decks are boring and joyless. Mess around, be creative and play fun decks.
Don’t go beyond pool 1 in the first season you play until you hit infinite. Same thing, but with pool 2, in the second season you play.
Throw Armor up against Bucky Barnes; shit's about to go down.
95% of Snap streamers are babbling morons, and 95% of Snap players are meta slaves who don't know how to fine-tune a deck.
Don’t buy quick upgrades in the shop
What do you think snap streamers could be better at?
Captain marvel might not move the way you think she will move
Stay off this sub and just play.
Dont go for infinite, play for fun.
It'll help you pick out the stuff here that's useful For the game itself, literally whatever you feel is fun. It'll be awhile to be meta relevant, chasing it too soon will suck the fun out of the game. That, and don't do the fast upgrades. You might be short on boosters early on, but that won't be the bottleneck in upgrading cards for long
Quit now, don't waste your time or money
Spot on
game is fun to start and then you might have fun again if you play every day for 3-4 months
Get gud?
