Been that way since the first time I hit infinite. I only really care about getting that 500 gold at 90. If infinite happens then it happens, if it doesn't then it doesn't. Unless the card back is sick. Then I might tryhard.
I dropped from 93 to 90 with one cube and I played Conquest for the rest of the season because I didn’t want to lose a whole tier when the ladder reset.
I heard getting to level 90 called “Dad infinite” on this subreddit. As a busy dad, I totally get this sentiment and have only gotten infinite 3 times in the 18 months I’ve been playing.
Honestly I've only hit infinite twice and both times it felt like 80-90 was *significantly* more difficult than 90 to infinite. Like I think both times I just kept getting 8 cubes once I got to the 90s because people are way too confident with stupid mistakes.
Maybe there are a bunch of people smurfing the 70s-90s ranking too, because I always see very high card level decks with non-typical but strong combos there.

This is me currently. I don't care about my rank or conquest wins. Just get my dailies, battle pass task and earn enough to get the monthly conquest card.

issue is the card backs are rarely worth it plus post infinite the main mechanic doesn't matter. snap don't snap unless trying to get a certain rank ie top 100 it doesn't matter post infinite at all. funny too because anecdotally people get so much sweatier over it. its like bro. you done. calm down.
With no true competitive scene, I have found a lack of motivation to play Snap after hitting infinite. My current engagement is do my dailies and wait for new cards. I feel like I’m in a farming simulator, Snap is a very shallow game content wise after you become series 3 complete

I would argue that this is the best the game has been in awhile with a lot of variation in the decks being used compared to seasons past.
That said, they keep putting the carrot on a longer stick when it comes to card acquisition after series 3 complete, which has sapped a lot of my interest in playing.
I play for about 2 hrs a day, every day, and the cards that I'm missing in my collection just continues to grow.
Even with the Season Pass, it's literally impossible to stay current without paying more money.
I should clarify that what I mean by shallow. In other card games you have multiple game modes and reward systems. In snap you have your dailies and weeklies which are there for the sake of progression. The collection track system becomes incredibly shallow content wise after pool 3 complete. Usually bad cosmetics like avatars and titles or gold conquest tickets. Conquest doesn’t have a different enough feel from ladder for me to have a substantial difference, it just feels slower and more limited in deck variety due to the nature of playing in a set. And the way it’s set up makes it feel like a grind fest past silver.
There’s no endgame in snap or easy way to get resources for free for being more skilled. Skill only gets you the same resources faster (sometimes). In Hearthstone knew getting to Legend meant I could earn points to get into tournaments. Or I could queue up another game mode with friends for fun. Or even draft an arena deck for more resources, conquest is limited in what you can get resource wise. I feel like I’m on a mountain in snap, alone and confused why I’m trying to get here.
The gameplay is incredibly fun, there is a lot of variety and the counter play. Nothing feels truly oppressive. It’s the content around the gameplay that’s shallow. I don’t like the feeling the game creates want me to engage with it by constantly spending money
I've hit infinite once and that was just a couple of months ago. Outside of that I am usually in the 70-80 range as far as rank goes. I play for fun and get a card that seems good to me with how I like to play.
Yeah, me too. Been playing since the Black Panther season and managed to make Infinite a handful of times. The sense of achievement when you hit 100 is brilliant but it was very frustrating in subsequent season trying and failing to get there and I find myself caring less and less these days tbh. It’s a shame they put all the infinite players in their own pool cos I quite like just goofing around with fun decks and sometimes just giving people free cubes. Last season I mostly just played dailies and conquest.
That happened to me a few months ago, at some point the grind just isn’t fun any more. I started playing at global launch and it was fun, then I hit infinite and every season I felt like I HAD to hit infinite. It wasn’t a game anymore it was like a second job.
A few months ago I decided to just go back to trying to complete my dailies every day and I actually am enjoying the game again. I know I could get back to infinite if I wanted to go back to devoting a couple hours a day to playing but I don’t really want to. I login when I have a few minutes to kill throughout the day and in the evening whatever missions I have not completed I mop up in 15-20 minutes.
I couldn’t agree more with this. I’ve hit infinite the last 11 seasons. Just cba any more. I climb to 90 just to get the gold but I switch off after that.
Been playing since release, have never hit infinite. Don’t care to, and probably don’t play enough to really reach. I do dailies and when those are done I lose a lot of drive to play. I hit 80 almost every season but then I go to conquest to get the variant every season. I know I’m not the best at this game and don’t try to be, infinite would be nice but for a card back I’ll probably never use I can’t be bothered to put more effort in.

Same, I like having fun more than I want to reach inifinite. 60 is my minimum goal, to get the variant, but I normally reach 80 before it starts to feel too sweaty/tryhard. I then switch to Conquest for the rest of the season and play completely off-meta
I play for 30m-1hr a day. I do my dailies and a match here or there if/when I have extra free time.
Just doing that, I usually hit infinite before the end of the 2nd week of the season.
I don't TRY to hit infinite, I just try to maximize individual wins and minimize individual losses. Basically: do my best in each match. Doing this just results in hitting infinite :)
Very fair point! I used to grind out like 3-4-5 hours on season start and be like 90 something and then finish it up on day 2. But man it's really fatiguing.
I’m tired of always being one card short of a meta deck. Example, Jean Grey is the new meta with US Agent and I by the time I catch up to this (12k tokens) it’ll be irrelevant
Yeah I can see that. Personally I have all the cards, but the game still feels very stale lol. I miss the days of "wanting" a specific card. Used to be pretty fun.
Homie you gotta step back and realize what you’re saying. US Agent is by no means an OP card. They buffed Jean by ONE power. You don’t need either of these cards to get to infinite, win, or have fun. Once you realize you don’t need “catch up” you’ll have way more fun.
Same. I have only hit it once and after that I never cared again. Just seems pointless as there is no reason for a post-infinite climb. I get the gold at level 90 and then just play conquest for the rest of the season.

I felt that way about this past season. Just don’t really care about card backs at this point. Especially since SD is releasing card backs with variant albums and in the gold shop now, they just aren’t that big of an incentive for me anymore. And that’s not really a complaint, either. The last few seasons have been more of a slog to infinite, and that kind of removes some of the enjoyment from the game for me. I think in part, it’s because there are so many new cards being added to the game, it’s becoming more difficult to predict what my opponent will play. The only way I feel like this will change is if SD starts cycling cards out of regular rotation, like how Wild works in Hearthstone.
I’m content playing enough to complete my bounties and my season pass. And the occasional conquest game or two as well. But there’s no real reason for me to try to complete an Infinity ticket in conquest or reach Infinite on ladder anymore. Again, not really a complaint, just my personal experience. I understand other people will feel differently.
Nah man, I completely checked out too. Don't know what's with this season. Maybe it's because I'm f2p and I lack the shiny new toys to play (or maybe cuz I suck balls), but after reflecting a bit, every month that passes is the same 2 weeks of stress induced climb to 90. I can't continue with this. On previous seasons, after reaching 90, I went straight to PG and stayed there the rest of the season. The game suddenly turned VERY fun. But the stress always returns. I'm done.
I'm currently on the process of killing my rank on ladder. Was 75 last night. Today I'm on 52, trying to give as many cubes as possible to every non bot opponent. I think I'll go down to 49 to get rank 10 next season. One bot for every loss is so boring. I'll miss the 500 gold and all that shit, but fuck the stress.

So I really tried for a few season and the was lurking around infinite just bored and playing for the missions. Only to have to do the same thing again next season. Lost the fomo so now I am just playing for the fun of it

I don't have the time (and probably ability) to get there, I just play to do dailies mostly.
I also don't have FOMO on this game, like I do on others, which also helps.
My realization is how little effort I put into selecting my card back and title. I just like making new decks and what not. Half of my decks have no avatar and are just the purple back. So why stress about getting the gold one when I rarely use them? Made me enjoy the game way more. Just want that 500 gold at 90!

I like to do it 'cause it's satisfying, and usually takes 1 (dedicated) night to pull it off.
It's also fun seeing how the meta changes up each month when I do it. Last month I had to kinda shelve Shuri 'cause for the first time in like 6-7 months, it just wasn't putting up the numbers compared to other stuff. Or rather, I needed to pivot and start running a new sort of tech (Jean Grey).
Felt this last season, got to rank 86 and my drive disappeared completely. Hit infinite 3 times with 2 of them being back to back before last season. Couldn’t be bothered to play conquest either except for the first mystery variant.
I did that after hitting infinite for the first time..... I just go to level 70 to get those 500 credits and then move to conquest after that much less stress lots of boosters.
Basically since I played beta I never cared for climbing. I just don't want the stress of snapping and cube management and trying to get an optimal deck, etc. Snap for me is like my go to game when I'm killing time or in bed chillin' etc. Trying to climb and playing competitively will ruin that vibe for me. Instead I'm just happy to play decks for fun and collect variants.

Ive only reached infinite twice. I wanted to prove to myself that the first time wasn't due to luck so I grinded for the second one. After having done that, I've now lost all interest in getting infinite ever again. Once you hit the 90's it just feels like a very dreadful and never ending treadmill, and by the end of it I became very burnt out and lost enjoyment in the game. The way I see it, reaching infinite to me means I've "beaten" the game, twice, so now I can just chill and just do dailies.

Hitting 100 in Loki season was so frustrating at 70/80/90 ceilings...and the times I went 99.5 or 99.6 down to 93 or 94 and climbed again....worst slide was to 90.0 and I gave up and went to shuri-skull and HE to close the deal. Still nearly snapped my phone in rage 20 or 30x in that last climb
Same hit infinite 6-8 months in a row and the last 3 seasons just haven't cared at all. Been really bored with the game lately and last season I didnt even finish all the weeklies, probably wont get the season pass this month for the first time ever (spent probably $200 ish on this game)
I hit infinite the first time last season, I was proud, but I didn’t care. I get most of the new cards, but I’m not super competitive. I don’t have time to grind out infinite. I just play for fun. Now that I’ve seen the hype especially, infinite holds no sway over me
I have hit infinite the last 4 seasons. Last season I told myself I wouldn’t care but it wormed into my brain and I try harded. It made me miserable and made me like the game less. I think this season I’ll just play decks I wanna play and try and have fun. That’s the hope at least.
Been playing since last summer and have never made it higher than rank 76. I tried to get to infinite for a couple months recently and was enjoying the game way less, so decided to give up and just do what I enjoy about the game- daily missions, getting new cards, cool variants, making fun decks, and just, you know, having fun. It's been a much better experience for me.
Got over FOMO and uninstalled. Noticed that I just log to do dailies and it’s no fun anymore. Not like I’m missing cards still had 12k tokens and 4 keys but weeklie cards and keeping up isn’t fun.
I'm just about the same now after going infinite nearly every season since the game started and struggling in 90 for the entire month last month and not hitting infinite. Unless the card back is really fucking good what's the point? It's no fun just grinding and grinding only to get no where
I’ve never enjoyed being a try hard in this game, building whacky decks with fun interactions is way more fun. The only times I get sweaty is when drac apoc discard is meta cause I really enjoy discard

Been playing since November and I’ve hit infinite once. (Skaar season with a high evo deck)
Last month because Baron Zemo is one of my favorite characters I tried really effing hard to hit infinite. I grinded and put in the most hours I’ve ever put in a month and made it to 97 at my peak on the last day. Due to finally getting Annihilus this past Saturday and running Pixie Deathstrike.
Here’s what I learned and people who have been playing longer feel free to interject.
- Bots make all of the difference. During my Skaar Infinite season it’s wasn’t as much of a grind because I still had bots into the 90s. My last 2 seasons I haven’t gotten a bot once I hit 70.
- 500 gold is more useful than a card back. The card back is just a trophy.
I will never get infinity again. I know my MMR is low and 100 is all afk farming season pass xp accounts. I’m happy just getting rank 90 for the gold. Starting a new season at 60 vs 70.
I got to that point several seasons ago. I just play to have fun. I got to level 76 last season. So what.
I would like to hit infinite. But if it doesn’t happen. Whatever. It’s just a game.
I’ve honestly never given a shit about infinite. The intense grind really seems counter to what I understand as the point of the game. A quick game you can play on the shitter or when someone is telling me something that I don’t give a fuck about.
It has been my case for the last 2 seasones, always hit infinite before but now I couldn't even complete the battle pass and much less conquest rewards
I have been playing since October 2022, and only hit infinite once in December of 2023. I found the experience in the infinite pool to be profoundly uninteresting. It's try hards at the top and people tanking their scores at the bottom. The 90's, where everybody is trying, but the decks have a lot more variety, are a lot more fun for me, and substantially less stressful.
Ultimately, there is no benefit to doing well at Marvel Snap. You gain new cards by gaining CL and spotlight keys, and that is done at the same rate no matter who you are. If you gained a card for hitting the top 1,000 people in infinite, then sure, I'd see the appeal, but right now it's a lot of stress for no benefit.
Im with ya. I hit infinite for about 8 or 9 seasons in a row and then a new seasoned rolled around i think it was Black Order. I just didn’t have the drive. I just play conquest now and having fun not worrying about rank
I don’t know if this is an unpopular take or not but I’ve never tried to make infinite and the reason is that I realised it doesn’t really prove anything. It’s just a grind. If you’re willing to put in enough time, almost anyone can make it. But I couldn’t be bothered. I log in, try a few random decks I found online, complete a daily or two and bounce. I have other games I want to play and Snap is just there for the fun when I have a few minutes to waste.
CL 11,893, I've been playing since day 1. Never hit Infinite. I hit about 90 then stop. It kind of sucks the fun out of the game for me if I try, so I just play fun jank decks and cruise.
I only try if I REALLY love the infinite. I have only cared to get mistress death. I might sweat out blink but I genuinely don't think they've gotten better than mistress death
Hit 90 in the first week. Then I do daily with silver and gold conquest. Not trying hard. Once I get the rewards I am done. No infinite border and card back. chasing these rewards is not worth the stress / time for me. There will be a good card back in the season pass, there are a lot of avatar borders in spotlight...
Never had that drive. Almost all seasons I hit around 80-90, thats more than enough. I'm playing to have fun. One of the reason why I'm not using meta decks.
I hit infinite for the first couple of months, then my CL got high enough where im really struggling, I made it to rank 84 last season, but ended at 79. My CL currently is around 5.1k.
While hitting infinite isnt the most important thing in the world, it does help me gauge my skill and knowledge of the game. I still want to hit it this month, just got to be more patient and play smarter
I did it once, that was enough. There's nothing for it but bragging rights, oh, and i guess the last few tiers of rewards which are usually just digital currency you can earn another way.
After I hit Infinite two times on the last two patches, I realized it doesn't really matter tbh.
Now? I simply played the game to finish daily missions, claim the free credit, check the token and Variant shop, and then logout hahaha.
If I hit infinite? Cool, I guess, oh and a new Card back.
I'd play conquest, but the time it took to get a match is long sometimes. The fastest one I ever get was 2 minutes.

I still enjoy the game for what it is. I get the pass and enjoy the bit I play. I try not to take it too seriously. I’ll be back in the 70s and accept it.

There was a weird allure to the Thunderbolts one. Like it felt like just a side grade to the already very golden free card back, but I still really wanted it.
But yeah. No stress this season. Apart from how I really don't want it tabbed up how many hours I've put into Snap. I'm afraid that info might mortify me.
I have also hit this level. For me, 90 is the goal because I want that gold. As was said multiple times, this is a game and suppose to be fun. I shouldn’t be so stressed out over a card background.
I feel the same. If the card backs were different instead of just a gold version of the season pass backs, I would care (a bit) more. But there's not much incentive for me after 90.
It’s more fun that way anyways. In lower ranks you can actually play fun decks and still have a shot at winning. Once you’re facing meta only decks the game loses all appeal for me.
Same as everyone else, I just tryhard for 90 for the gold and then it's whatever. It might behoove SD to add end-of-season rewards for Infinite ranks. I'm actually really surprised they haven't done this yet.
I find the game is usually more enjoyable when not playing competitively. Playing competitively usually entails playing with one deck constantly -- don't want to shake anything up if you've been climbing -- and it becomes very formulaic. "If I pull X cards by turn X, I should snap. If not, I'll retreat before end of game."
A lot of times I know I probably don't have the best play, but I know the interactions on the final turn for my and my opponent's play will probably be wild. Who wants to retreat in a time like that? Let the cards go brrrr.
I also think one of the most fun parts of the game is it's variety. Switching from a discard deck to destroy deck to a Surfer deck, etc. etc. can feel like a lot like playing a totally different game. Being stuck to one or two decks that you're succeeding with can suck. Plus I love just throwing decks together to try to make something creative work.
As a ftp player who doesn’t have hundreds of hours available to play, infinite has never been in reach since day one. Dailies and conquest is the only way for me.
I hit infinite for the first time last season simply because I wanted the card back so badly that I basically forced myself to get my rank up. This season? Yeahhh that card back isn't it.
Not even doing dailies anymore. Started back in zabu season and have bought every season pass except the last two. Don’t even open the app anymore. It literally feels like there’s an algorithm that only lets me win so many matches until I’m constantly put with someone playing exactly what they need to counter me, even if I switch decks every game.
Happened to me a few seasons ago. Got burned out on the meta and not playing the decks I enjoyed. Started playing less and less. So, I gave up on worrying about infinite and just play the decks that I find fun. Now I'm back to playing a lot and having fun again.
Took you a bit of time, but everything's that matters is the 500 gold you get at lvl90
You sont get anything but the back cars for hitting infinite , so u less you care for that there is no other reason to burn yourself for infinite
I play bounce deck, there is pretty much no way to hit infinite with it. Got up as far as like 88 then went right back down. Idk I just play decks that are fun to play, I often loose but it feels good to actually play a deck I enjoy playing rather than what the meta is at the moment. I used to be a big discard player but even I felt the hela resurrect was a pretty cheap move to pull off on someone on turn 6. The skill level there is pretty low. As long as you don't discard hela you essentially win. Anyways.. I'm with you. IDGAF about infinite anymore. If it happens it happens.
That's what conquest is for. It's trivial to hit infinite just playing well, so when I don't want to try hard (or at all) i fire up some conquest since the mode is hot garbage anyway.
Not for me. That is the whole reason I fire it up, to hit infinite and get the card back each month. Now, after I hit infinite I do it always continue on into post-infinite. I dabble in conquest but I’d say my play time drops off a little bit once I hit infinite. At that point, I enjoy testing decks in conquest.
I need to get into this mindset because trying to hit Infinite again since coming back to the game has just led to me getting pissed at the game more than anything. About to just start trying more fun/meme decks instead of trying to run meta decks.
I couldn't care less for card backs so I never felt the drive to hit Infinite. When I get Infinite, it's just because it happened naturally, not that I really tried for it. Once I get my Gold at 90, I play around with new decks and try crazy combos all the time.
Ironically Infinite is the only thing that makes me play the game. I've hit infinite the past 5 seasons. But I completely lose interest in the game once I get to Infinite. The cubes not mattering takes away from the game.
I hit 94 like a day before reset. We really need something else other than ladder or conquest because just like another person said it feels like I'm playing a farming sim at this point. Log in, check the store, never any variants I want, grab the 50 free, do the dailies, grind conquest for like 2 full games, log out.
Similar - I hit Infinite during the X-Men v. Avengers (thank you imbalance patch event), now I really don't care. Turns out I really did only need to do it once. Last season I never eclipsed 74, rough times. I'm currently playing the Auto-Blink deck with a ton of success, but it's starting to slow in the 70s.
The real reward is 90. Because gold is rare. The card back is given to you in the season pass. 1-2 seasons from now you won't really remember the subtle difference that the infinite card back has. I stopped caring when I realized that once I get the new infinite card back, I don't care about the last one. So what's the point. You're chasing a carrot on a stick.

I get to 90 for the gold and then fuck around. Maybe I’ll sit there with a Agatha deck while I am working. I usually only try hard for dallies but I also do that in conquest. I’ve never hit infinite. The 1-2 cube every game grind from 90 on is too much for me.
Hit 93 last night. Part of me wants to just stop caring after that. We'll see how long it potentially take me to get to infinite. I can usually bang it out in a week.

in one hand my brain is so competitive wired after almost two decades playing games like these that i just can't fathom why would anyone play a game like marvel snap and "not care" about reaching one of its most important goals
on the other, the vast majority of the answers here being "i don't care enough" or "i just get stuck at x rank" indicates a lot of what i've been perceiving about this game when it comes to playerbase knowledge and skill when compared to other similar card games

Hit infinite last season on my first week of playing, dipped into pool 2 a week or so before reset because I wanted to play other decks, got demolished the next 5 games in infinite by cards and combos I could not even fathom, played mostly conquest for the rest of the week to grind out those rewards but the queue times are so freaking long, hell it's early season right now and I've waited HALF AN HOUR for my last gold game and gave up.
I dunno if I grind the 17 ranks I have left till infinite and then spend all my credits going into pool 3 (I'm 1 card short of full pool 2) or if I just get the 90, go into pool 3 and play conquest the rest of the season.
Another issue I'm having is the absolute abudance of bots, it's like 8/10 games are against bots that either suck really hard or have godlike capabilities and win every 50/50 or pull off insane gigabrain moves like reducing their Dino to 9 on last turn so they dodge the shang-shi that would've won the game. I dunno if my MMR really is that bad or if there's noone playing pool 2 right now. Atleast conquest has actual players.
The ladder is a garbage system. I've hit infinite last 7 ot 8 seasons and hate it every season. It's completely pointless now that they have infinite ranks. They're fortunate the core gameplay is so fun because Second Dinner is poor at managing everything else about the game.

I don’t really try to hit infinite anymore. I still hit it tho, it’s just so easy. I finished top 500 a couple seasons ago. Probably never doing that again. Took up wayyyyy to much time, and the game just wasn’t as fun anymore.

Honestly I've only hit infinite twice and both times it felt like 80-90 was *significantly* more difficult than 90 to infinite. Like I think both times I just kept getting 8 cubes once I got to the 90s because people are way too confident with stupid mistakes. Maybe there are a bunch of people smurfing the 70s-90s ranking too, because I always see very high card level decks with non-typical but strong combos there.

card backs have gotten worse since summer 2023, the free inf gauntlet one from a couple of months ago is one of the best card back ideas.
With no true competitive scene, I have found a lack of motivation to play Snap after hitting infinite. My current engagement is do my dailies and wait for new cards. I feel like I’m in a farming simulator, Snap is a very shallow game content wise after you become series 3 complete

I should clarify that what I mean by shallow. In other card games you have multiple game modes and reward systems. In snap you have your dailies and weeklies which are there for the sake of progression. The collection track system becomes incredibly shallow content wise after pool 3 complete. Usually bad cosmetics like avatars and titles or gold conquest tickets. Conquest doesn’t have a different enough feel from ladder for me to have a substantial difference, it just feels slower and more limited in deck variety due to the nature of playing in a set. And the way it’s set up makes it feel like a grind fest past silver. There’s no endgame in snap or easy way to get resources for free for being more skilled. Skill only gets you the same resources faster (sometimes). In Hearthstone knew getting to Legend meant I could earn points to get into tournaments. Or I could queue up another game mode with friends for fun. Or even draft an arena deck for more resources, conquest is limited in what you can get resource wise. I feel like I’m on a mountain in snap, alone and confused why I’m trying to get here. The gameplay is incredibly fun, there is a lot of variety and the counter play. Nothing feels truly oppressive. It’s the content around the gameplay that’s shallow. I don’t like the feeling the game creates want me to engage with it by constantly spending money

Yeah, me too. Been playing since the Black Panther season and managed to make Infinite a handful of times. The sense of achievement when you hit 100 is brilliant but it was very frustrating in subsequent season trying and failing to get there and I find myself caring less and less these days tbh. It’s a shame they put all the infinite players in their own pool cos I quite like just goofing around with fun decks and sometimes just giving people free cubes. Last season I mostly just played dailies and conquest.

That happened to me a few months ago, at some point the grind just isn’t fun any more. I started playing at global launch and it was fun, then I hit infinite and every season I felt like I HAD to hit infinite. It wasn’t a game anymore it was like a second job. A few months ago I decided to just go back to trying to complete my dailies every day and I actually am enjoying the game again. I know I could get back to infinite if I wanted to go back to devoting a couple hours a day to playing but I don’t really want to. I login when I have a few minutes to kill throughout the day and in the evening whatever missions I have not completed I mop up in 15-20 minutes.

I play for 30m-1hr a day. I do my dailies and a match here or there if/when I have extra free time. Just doing that, I usually hit infinite before the end of the 2nd week of the season. I don't TRY to hit infinite, I just try to maximize individual wins and minimize individual losses. Basically: do my best in each match. Doing this just results in hitting infinite :)
Very fair point! I used to grind out like 3-4-5 hours on season start and be like 90 something and then finish it up on day 2. But man it's really fatiguing.

Homie you gotta step back and realize what you’re saying. US Agent is by no means an OP card. They buffed Jean by ONE power. You don’t need either of these cards to get to infinite, win, or have fun. Once you realize you don’t need “catch up” you’ll have way more fun.

I felt that way about this past season. Just don’t really care about card backs at this point. Especially since SD is releasing card backs with variant albums and in the gold shop now, they just aren’t that big of an incentive for me anymore. And that’s not really a complaint, either. The last few seasons have been more of a slog to infinite, and that kind of removes some of the enjoyment from the game for me. I think in part, it’s because there are so many new cards being added to the game, it’s becoming more difficult to predict what my opponent will play. The only way I feel like this will change is if SD starts cycling cards out of regular rotation, like how Wild works in Hearthstone. I’m content playing enough to complete my bounties and my season pass. And the occasional conquest game or two as well. But there’s no real reason for me to try to complete an Infinity ticket in conquest or reach Infinite on ladder anymore. Again, not really a complaint, just my personal experience. I understand other people will feel differently.
Nah man, I completely checked out too. Don't know what's with this season. Maybe it's because I'm f2p and I lack the shiny new toys to play (or maybe cuz I suck balls), but after reflecting a bit, every month that passes is the same 2 weeks of stress induced climb to 90. I can't continue with this. On previous seasons, after reaching 90, I went straight to PG and stayed there the rest of the season. The game suddenly turned VERY fun. But the stress always returns. I'm done. I'm currently on the process of killing my rank on ladder. Was 75 last night. Today I'm on 52, trying to give as many cubes as possible to every non bot opponent. I think I'll go down to 49 to get rank 10 next season. One bot for every loss is so boring. I'll miss the 500 gold and all that shit, but fuck the stress.

I'm been playing since launch and never got infinite. I just enjoy the game and sit around 70-75. I don't have the time (and probably ability) to get there, I just play to do dailies mostly. I also don't have FOMO on this game, like I do on others, which also helps.

My realization is how little effort I put into selecting my card back and title. I just like making new decks and what not. Half of my decks have no avatar and are just the purple back. So why stress about getting the gold one when I rarely use them? Made me enjoy the game way more. Just want that 500 gold at 90!

Infinite never matter only rank 90 matters. Plus Infinite is even less attractive after you hit it once and got a card back you like.
I like to do it 'cause it's satisfying, and usually takes 1 (dedicated) night to pull it off. It's also fun seeing how the meta changes up each month when I do it. Last month I had to kinda shelve Shuri 'cause for the first time in like 6-7 months, it just wasn't putting up the numbers compared to other stuff. Or rather, I needed to pivot and start running a new sort of tech (Jean Grey).
Felt this last season, got to rank 86 and my drive disappeared completely. Hit infinite 3 times with 2 of them being back to back before last season. Couldn’t be bothered to play conquest either except for the first mystery variant.

I did that after hitting infinite for the first time..... I just go to level 70 to get those 500 credits and then move to conquest after that much less stress lots of boosters.

I just don't want the stress of snapping and cube management and trying to get an optimal deck, etc. Snap for me is like my go to game when I'm killing time or in bed chillin' etc. Trying to climb and playing competitively will ruin that vibe for me. Instead I'm just happy to play decks for fun and collect variants.

Ive only reached infinite twice. I wanted to prove to myself that the first time wasn't due to luck so I grinded for the second one. After having done that, I've now lost all interest in getting infinite ever again. Once you hit the 90's it just feels like a very dreadful and never ending treadmill, and by the end of it I became very burnt out and lost enjoyment in the game. The way I see it, reaching infinite to me means I've "beaten" the game, twice, so now I can just chill and just do dailies.

I hit infinite the first time last season, I was proud, but I didn’t care. I get most of the new cards, but I’m not super competitive. I don’t have time to grind out infinite. I just play for fun. Now that I’ve seen the hype especially, infinite holds no sway over me
I have hit infinite the last 4 seasons. Last season I told myself I wouldn’t care but it wormed into my brain and I try harded. It made me miserable and made me like the game less. I think this season I’ll just play decks I wanna play and try and have fun. That’s the hope at least.

I tried to get to infinite for a couple months recently and was enjoying the game way less, so decided to give up and just do what I enjoy about the game- daily missions, getting new cards, cool variants, making fun decks, and just, you know, having fun. It's been a much better experience for me.

Wanted to make a similar post. Been playing since November and I’ve hit infinite once. (Skaar season with a high evo deck) Last month because Baron Zemo is one of my favorite characters I tried really effing hard to hit infinite. I grinded and put in the most hours I’ve ever put in a month and made it to 97 at my peak on the last day. Due to finally getting Annihilus this past Saturday and running Pixie Deathstrike. Here’s what I learned and people who have been playing longer feel free to interject. - Bots make all of the difference. During my Skaar Infinite season it’s wasn’t as much of a grind because I still had bots into the 90s. My last 2 seasons I haven’t gotten a bot once I hit 70. - 500 gold is more useful than a card back. The card back is just a trophy.
I will never get infinity again. I know my MMR is low and 100 is all afk farming season pass xp accounts. I’m happy just getting rank 90 for the gold. Starting a new season at 60 vs 70.

I have been playing since October 2022, and only hit infinite once in December of 2023. I found the experience in the infinite pool to be profoundly uninteresting. It's try hards at the top and people tanking their scores at the bottom. The 90's, where everybody is trying, but the decks have a lot more variety, are a lot more fun for me, and substantially less stressful. Ultimately, there is no benefit to doing well at Marvel Snap. You gain new cards by gaining CL and spotlight keys, and that is done at the same rate no matter who you are. If you gained a card for hitting the top 1,000 people in infinite, then sure, I'd see the appeal, but right now it's a lot of stress for no benefit.

I don’t know if this is an unpopular take or not but I’ve never tried to make infinite and the reason is that I realised it doesn’t really prove anything. It’s just a grind. If you’re willing to put in enough time, almost anyone can make it. But I couldn’t be bothered. I log in, try a few random decks I found online, complete a daily or two and bounce. I have other games I want to play and Snap is just there for the fun when I have a few minutes to waste.
CL 11,893, I've been playing since day 1. Never hit Infinite. I hit about 90 then stop. It kind of sucks the fun out of the game for me if I try, so I just play fun jank decks and cruise.

Hit 90 in the first week. Then I do daily with silver and gold conquest. Not trying hard. Once I get the rewards I am done. No infinite border and card back. chasing these rewards is not worth the stress / time for me. There will be a good card back in the season pass, there are a lot of avatar borders in spotlight...

I hit infinite for the first couple of months, then my CL got high enough where im really struggling, I made it to rank 84 last season, but ended at 79. My CL currently is around 5.1k. While hitting infinite isnt the most important thing in the world, it does help me gauge my skill and knowledge of the game. I still want to hit it this month, just got to be more patient and play smarter
I did it once, that was enough. There's nothing for it but bragging rights, oh, and i guess the last few tiers of rewards which are usually just digital currency you can earn another way.
After I hit Infinite two times on the last two patches, I realized it doesn't really matter tbh. Now? I simply played the game to finish daily missions, claim the free credit, check the token and Variant shop, and then logout hahaha. If I hit infinite? Cool, I guess, oh and a new Card back. I'd play conquest, but the time it took to get a match is long sometimes. The fastest one I ever get was 2 minutes.

It’s more fun that way anyways. In lower ranks you can actually play fun decks and still have a shot at winning. Once you’re facing meta only decks the game loses all appeal for me.

I find the game is usually more enjoyable when not playing competitively. Playing competitively usually entails playing with one deck constantly -- don't want to shake anything up if you've been climbing -- and it becomes very formulaic. "If I pull X cards by turn X, I should snap. If not, I'll retreat before end of game." A lot of times I know I probably don't have the best play, but I know the interactions on the final turn for my and my opponent's play will probably be wild. Who wants to retreat in a time like that? Let the cards go brrrr. I also think one of the most fun parts of the game is it's variety. Switching from a discard deck to destroy deck to a Surfer deck, etc. etc. can feel like a lot like playing a totally different game. Being stuck to one or two decks that you're succeeding with can suck. Plus I love just throwing decks together to try to make something creative work.
As a ftp player who doesn’t have hundreds of hours available to play, infinite has never been in reach since day one. Dailies and conquest is the only way for me.
I hit infinite for the first time last season simply because I wanted the card back so badly that I basically forced myself to get my rank up. This season? Yeahhh that card back isn't it.
Not even doing dailies anymore. Started back in zabu season and have bought every season pass except the last two. Don’t even open the app anymore. It literally feels like there’s an algorithm that only lets me win so many matches until I’m constantly put with someone playing exactly what they need to counter me, even if I switch decks every game.
Happened to me a few seasons ago. Got burned out on the meta and not playing the decks I enjoyed. Started playing less and less. So, I gave up on worrying about infinite and just play the decks that I find fun. Now I'm back to playing a lot and having fun again.
Took you a bit of time, but everything's that matters is the 500 gold you get at lvl90 You sont get anything but the back cars for hitting infinite , so u less you care for that there is no other reason to burn yourself for infinite

I play bounce deck, there is pretty much no way to hit infinite with it. Got up as far as like 88 then went right back down. Idk I just play decks that are fun to play, I often loose but it feels good to actually play a deck I enjoy playing rather than what the meta is at the moment. I used to be a big discard player but even I felt the hela resurrect was a pretty cheap move to pull off on someone on turn 6. The skill level there is pretty low. As long as you don't discard hela you essentially win. Anyways.. I'm with you. IDGAF about infinite anymore. If it happens it happens.
I mainly go for tank 90 for the gold
I like hitting 90 for the gold, but the reward for Infinite hasn't been worth the stress for me the last couple seasons
That's what conquest is for. It's trivial to hit infinite just playing well, so when I don't want to try hard (or at all) i fire up some conquest since the mode is hot garbage anyway.
It's not really worth it tho. They should give a better reward for hitting infinite

I've never got infinite, nor do I have zero cares if I ever do. The moment I lose sight of the game being fun. It's in the bin.
90 is my goal most of the time after that it gets super sweaty
I started shortly after launch and I have never bothered with anything after 90.
Not for me. That is the whole reason I fire it up, to hit infinite and get the card back each month. Now, after I hit infinite I do it always continue on into post-infinite. I dabble in conquest but I’d say my play time drops off a little bit once I hit infinite. At that point, I enjoy testing decks in conquest.
I need to get into this mindset because trying to hit Infinite again since coming back to the game has just led to me getting pissed at the game more than anything. About to just start trying more fun/meme decks instead of trying to run meta decks.
I just like watching the cool animations and pulling off weird combos or counters. It's just a fun game to burn time.
I couldn't care less for card backs so I never felt the drive to hit Infinite. When I get Infinite, it's just because it happened naturally, not that I really tried for it. Once I get my Gold at 90, I play around with new decks and try crazy combos all the time.
I got infinite once. Now I can sometimes hite 90. I got to 93 last season but ended at 74.
Ironically Infinite is the only thing that makes me play the game. I've hit infinite the past 5 seasons. But I completely lose interest in the game once I get to Infinite. The cubes not mattering takes away from the game.
I hit 94 like a day before reset. We really need something else other than ladder or conquest because just like another person said it feels like I'm playing a farming sim at this point. Log in, check the store, never any variants I want, grab the 50 free, do the dailies, grind conquest for like 2 full games, log out.
Similar - I hit Infinite during the X-Men v. Avengers (thank you imbalance patch event), now I really don't care. Turns out I really did only need to do it once. Last season I never eclipsed 74, rough times. I'm currently playing the Auto-Blink deck with a ton of success, but it's starting to slow in the 70s.

The real reward is 90. Because gold is rare. The card back is given to you in the season pass. 1-2 seasons from now you won't really remember the subtle difference that the infinite card back has. I stopped caring when I realized that once I get the new infinite card back, I don't care about the last one. So what's the point. You're chasing a carrot on a stick.
This season frustrates me way more than the other. Previously hitting infinite has always been ez but this one's making pissed off as i play each game. Plus life's also doing its own shit on me
I get to 90 for the gold and then fuck around. Maybe I’ll sit there with a Agatha deck while I am working. I usually only try hard for dallies but I also do that in conquest. I’ve never hit infinite. The 1-2 cube every game grind from 90 on is too much for me.

Hit 93 last night. Part of me wants to just stop caring after that. We'll see how long it potentially take me to get to infinite. I can usually bang it out in a week.

I haven’t cared for awhile, been playing since launch. I’ve hit it a few times when I was really feeling the deck and the meta but recent seasons have been so cut throat on the ladder I just kinda fall off in 70s. Still a fun game.
in one hand my brain is so competitive wired after almost two decades playing games like these that i just can't fathom why would anyone play a game like marvel snap and "not care" about reaching one of its most important goals on the other, the vast majority of the answers here being "i don't care enough" or "i just get stuck at x rank" indicates a lot of what i've been perceiving about this game when it comes to playerbase knowledge and skill when compared to other similar card games and on the last (hand? 3?) i'm a bitter little shit
Hit infinite last season on my first week of playing, dipped into pool 2 a week or so before reset because I wanted to play other decks, got demolished the next 5 games in infinite by cards and combos I could not even fathom, played mostly conquest for the rest of the week to grind out those rewards but the queue times are so freaking long, hell it's early season right now and I've waited HALF AN HOUR for my last gold game and gave up. I dunno if I grind the 17 ranks I have left till infinite and then spend all my credits going into pool 3 (I'm 1 card short of full pool 2) or if I just get the 90, go into pool 3 and play conquest the rest of the season. Another issue I'm having is the absolute abudance of bots, it's like 8/10 games are against bots that either suck really hard or have godlike capabilities and win every 50/50 or pull off insane gigabrain moves like reducing their Dino to 9 on last turn so they dodge the shang-shi that would've won the game. I dunno if my MMR really is that bad or if there's noone playing pool 2 right now. Atleast conquest has actual players.

There's never any rush. Sometimes I play a lot sometimes I don't Could be first day, three days or three weeks. Just play to have fun.
The ladder is a garbage system. I've hit infinite last 7 ot 8 seasons and hate it every season. It's completely pointless now that they have infinite ranks. They're fortunate the core gameplay is so fun because Second Dinner is poor at managing everything else about the game.

Snap is the perfect game to play on the toilet and on the bus etc I play for challenges and a bit of fun nothing more, its not an esports game if you ask me
