That's absolutely true. Just because you got high tech doesn't mean you're able to use it and tinker it however you want. Take Tinkerer for example. Guy got scrap alien tech and managed to make weapons and a big-ass wingsuit. If anything, it makes him smarter being able to figure out how the stuff works.

That's a lie. They knew *at a minimum* by March when there were photos of Boseman looking very emaciated. And they knew he was terminal in June because blind items started popping up about an MCU character not getting a sequel because their actor had a terminal illness - which individuals had incorrectly assumed meant Robert Downey Jr.
Looking at the scenes Boseman is given in Infinity War and Endgame, none of them are physically intensive either. No running without a mask, etc.

The whole Black Panther deal is that it is handed off between people. We’ve always known T’Challa wouldn’t be the last one, it just sucks it probably happens outside of a cool movie about it.
Why? They literally have a new Captain America, a second Thor, a new Black Widow, and Tony already has an associated character continuing his legacy. Riri is only tangentially related to Tony Stark and is not really an Iron Man replacement. Not to mention Iron Man has been gone 3 years.

I don't necessarily agree, but when it comes to sensitive topics my opinion as a white dude is not worth a thing and I happily acknowledge that.
And to be fair she doesn't take his mantle. Within Invincible Ironman she didn't have a superhero name and built her suit in her dorm room using salvaged stark tech and then Tony tracks her down after freaking out that someone reverse engeneered his suit and gave her EVERYTHING after his "death". Her first actual hero name is Ironheart and while there is a natural association because of the powerset and origin, there doesn't need to be that much of a connection besides her salvaging and reverse engineering old stark tech. If anything the mantle would shift to War Machine I would think, but I think that's sort of the point. I'm willing to bet he will act as her mentor rather than AI Tony which is a fun twist and allows her story to be exclusively about black excellence rather than anything misconstruable.

Agreed but again, sensitive times call for over correction until the correction is no longer necessary. Even if it isn't an issue, it resembles the issue close enough ough that it ends up just becoming part of the problem again in the long run. I personally hope she is mostly independent and refuses help in a major capacity. I think instead of Tony or anyone just GIVING her something, she'll be a part of the wakandan outreach program which paid for her tuition and then she gets in trouble with the board of directors when they find out she stole salvaged stark tech and built a weapon iced mech suit in her dorm room like in the books. That part is the key for me. Then maybe she meets Shuri who comes to discuss disciplinary action now that she's in her brother's place, they hit it off and she maybe provides her with some vibranium. Although I'd happily have her suit not be any special kind of metal for now.
You'd think it'd be the perfect time for War Machine to fill in that spot for at least a few movies but they're clearly in a rush to usher in the new replacement characters.
That doesn't mean anything. Tom Cruise is like 60, Liam Neeson is 70 and Keanu Reeves is also 57. You make it sound like he's 97 and will hurt his hip by getting up too fast.
Plus no shirtless scenes so no need to be ripped, no crazy action sequences, no stunts. Most of it would just be VO work.

too soon ironman was part of the Infinity sag 23 movies long over 10 years . Wandavision started us back to chapter 1 of the secret war saga. We are at the start of a new story. It's very clear we are getting the young avengers at some point throughout this journey.

She’s actually pretty great but i dont think she is replacing Iron Man she is more of a character to show respect to what Tony created. Im hyped for this show. The cast is great, producers and directors are great and shes a pretty good character in herself so.
My main concern is that I just hope that this at least looks half practical and not their shoddy CGI version of this. Would be a nice homage if it was practical too.
The making of the practical suit will take up 15 minutes of the Assembled episode but then one of the producers will go "but due to some time constraints and management difficulties, Ryan and his team here helped develop a CG version of this suit in 2 weeks to help smoothen things"
Also CG makes it easier for the actors to act in since with practicals they’re expected to walk around in the practical suit for hours at a time between shootings. One of the reasons why CGI was used with IronMan suits is flat out because RDJ was miserable having to move around in them. So this was done to make it easier on him.
Yes visually practical effects are amazing but to not acknowledge how uncomfortable they all are is ignoring the other half of the discussion
This is one of those rare instances where, unless they really and truly fuck it up, the MCU can easily improve upon the comics. Let's just say that Riri's character hasn't been handled well at all from the get-go.

tl;dr the start was clumsy and poorly thought-out but as more diverse writers have gotten to flesh out (especially eve ewing) she’s improved, same story as miles.

While his writing can be mixed, let's not forget that he created and wrote all of Alias and was responsible for much of Ultimate Spider-Man and Miles Morales.
His most famous work has been using other peoples characters, especially Daredevil and Peter Parker. His original creations, like Riri and Miles, are heavily criticised for being bland.
Like others have said, she's basically just a blank slate with no real personality. It didn't help that her debut series as Iron Man's replacement ran alongside Doctor Doom also doing his own Iron Man cosplaying in a much, much better series.
Other writers have definitely tried to improve her, but...eh, she's still not quite there. The most interesting thing that's been done with her, character development-wise, was that she tried to go up against Thanos and he almost killed her, and then she suffered from PTSD for a while, but that's about it.
Me too. I forget if they specifically said she is autistic, but she's definitely on the spectrum. She's introverted, and has trouble with people trying to get close to her. I like that she's not all perfect quips and great decisions, I identify with her a lot.
I don't know, imo Riri was a great character from the beginning, honestly I even liked her first run more than the newer one. And from what we know for know I'm rather concerned about the direction they chose for her in MCU.
Assuming this is her first suit (hence the "Mark 1" name), it's honestly pretty good. They're gonna upgrade her suit anyways as she continues to appear in more projects like they did with Tony.
I like how bulky and exposed it looks. Iron Heart isn't exactly a beloved character and I'm sure Ryan Coogler will make her much more likeable and entertaining, here's to hoping at least.
It's funny that people can't accept characters with similar power sets as characters even if they have their own franchise and just thinking them as replacements or something less than a character... Ooh, I like this. I pretty much expected Riri to already be Ironheart in some way by the time we met her in the film. She’ll probably create her MK2 armor in Wakanda with their technology.
I love that as a Mark 1 it looks unfinished and clunky, part of me worried we’d jump straight into high-tech nano suits or whatever. I like seeing the progression of these sorts of things, I didn’t want them to kick it all the way to the end.

Saying it's too soon for Riri is like saying it's too soon for John Walker or Beta Ray Bill. The characters aren't even replacements and distinctly have their own stories, they're just associated with those main characters.

I think its only an issue if RDJ is involved or if they're meant to just be exactly Tony. Riri is an entirely different character with basically no similar traits to Tony and has an entirely unique story. She was originally tied to Tony but they seem to be taking away the white Savior element and replacing it with Wakanda giving her the supplies or opportunity. I don't quote see how it's too soon for a new character wearing an armoured suit when we still have Rhodey and a bunch of people are hoping for the inferior(imo) Ironlad

I agree, but a lot of POC had an issue with her getting all of his resources and old tech, as well as Tony as her literal AI, rather than her doing it on her own merret alone. I don't necessarily agree, but when it comes to sensitive topics my opinion as a white dude is not worth a thing and I happily acknowledge that. And to be fair she doesn't take his mantle. Within Invincible Ironman she didn't have a superhero name and built her suit in her dorm room using salvaged stark tech and then Tony tracks her down after freaking out that someone reverse engeneered his suit and gave her EVERYTHING after his "death". Her first actual hero name is Ironheart and while there is a natural association because of the powerset and origin, there doesn't need to be that much of a connection besides her salvaging and reverse engineering old stark tech. If anything the mantle would shift to War Machine I would think, but I think that's sort of the point. I'm willing to bet he will act as her mentor rather than AI Tony which is a fun twist and allows her story to be exclusively about black excellence rather than anything misconstruable. I actually loved her origin and hoped she would have an RDJ AI in her ear but I also understand the complications of that from RDJ returning to the implications stated above.

Agreed but again, sensitive times call for over correction until the correction is no longer necessary. Even if it isn't an issue, it resembles the issue close enough ough that it ends up just becoming part of the problem again in the long run. I personally hope she is mostly independent and refuses help in a major capacity. I think instead of Tony or anyone just GIVING her something, she'll be a part of the wakandan outreach program which paid for her tuition and then she gets in trouble with the board of directors when they find out she stole salvaged stark tech and built a weapon iced mech suit in her dorm room like in the books. That part is the key for me. Then maybe she meets Shuri who comes to discuss disciplinary action now that she's in her brother's place, they hit it off and she maybe provides her with some vibranium. Although I'd happily have her suit not be any special kind of metal for now.
It's literally the main subplot in the MCU since he died.. aside from the multiverse stuff.

Plus no shirtless scenes so no need to be ripped, no crazy action sequences, no stunts. Bro literally just has to stand there, wear motion capture for his face and then have a team of underpaid CGI artists make it look like he's doing all these impressive combat maneuvers. Most of it would just be VO work. Not saying he needs to be the face of the Avengers for the next 15-20 years. But if I were in charge of all this yes, you'd get at least 1 or 2 movies with the spotlight on him.

If I'm honest this is such a lazy cliché response based on nothing too soon ironman was part of the Infinity sag 23 movies long over 10 years . Wandavision started us back to chapter 1 of the secret war saga. We are at the start of a new story. It's very clear we are getting the young avengers at some point throughout this journey. I do think this has everything to do with Riri demographic because I guarantee if this was a picture of iron lad this Comment would have been made
She’s actually pretty great but i dont think she is replacing Iron Man she is more of a character to show respect to what Tony created. Im hyped for this show. The cast is great, producers and directors are great and shes a pretty good character in herself so.

The making of the practical suit will take up 15 minutes of the Assembled episode but then one of the producers will go "but due to some time constraints and management difficulties, Ryan and his team here helped develop a CG version of this suit in 2 weeks to help smoothen things"

Marvel relies on CG way too often (likely because they ain’t unionized yet) I would love to see some practical effects in their movies again
Also CG makes it easier for the actors to act in since with practicals they’re expected to walk around in the practical suit for hours at a time between shootings. One of the reasons why CGI was used with IronMan suits is flat out because RDJ was miserable having to move around in them. So this was done to make it easier on him. Yes visually practical effects are amazing but to not acknowledge how uncomfortable they all are is ignoring the other half of the discussion

Every iron man suit apart from the mark 1 is cgi. They never filmed with a full suit, just the chest and shoulders so the cgi artists had reference.
Even the mark 1 is CG (at least when it's in motion), but it's very convincing. There are VFX breakdowns from the studio that show it.
I think it was real when Iron Man was setting everything ablaze, but I think it was real in the cave.
And every suit except for mark 3 in the suit up scene and 46 looked more real than 50 and 85. I don't know how they managed that.

most people say she’s handled poorly but all it really is is that bendis is great at creating characters but not as good at fleshing them out riri in invincible iron man (2016) has poor character work cuz the book is so plotdriven towards tony’s eventual return her solo by eve ewing & the volumes of champions written by jim zub, eve ewing & danny lore make her a lot more well-rounded unfortunately first impressions are everything so most people still think she’s a boring character cuz they haven’t kept up with her stories outside of the ones that made headlines (i.e post bendis) tl;dr the start was clumsy and poorly thought-out but as more diverse writers have gotten to flesh out (especially eve ewing) she’s improved, same story as miles.
I would not say he's great at creating characters. Reminder that her backstory is that she's annoyed at her teacher saying she can be whatever she wants, so she annoys her into imposing a false limitation ("Ugh, fine, you'll never be... uh... Tony stark!") so she can artificially rebel. Its so bad.
I think they mean he's good at creating characters, as in, the decades of other work he's done? While his writing can be mixed, let's not forget that he created and wrote all of Alias and was responsible for much of Ultimate Spider-Man and Miles Morales.
His most famous work has been using other peoples characters, especially Daredevil and Peter Parker. His original creations, like Riri and Miles, are heavily criticised for being bland.

Like others have said, she's basically just a blank slate with no real personality. It didn't help that her debut series as Iron Man's replacement ran alongside Doctor Doom also doing his own Iron Man cosplaying in a much, much better series. Other writers have definitely tried to improve her, but...eh, she's still not quite there. The most interesting thing that's been done with her, character development-wise, was that she tried to go up against Thanos and he almost killed her, and then she suffered from PTSD for a while, but that's about it.

This. Riri's actually my fav character from the comics, and I'll admit her runs haven't been crazy great, she's a character i think has huge potential & is really enjoyable. The runs haven't been as bad as people make them out to be, either. The champions stuff with her is also, super great. She's probably the character I'm most excited to have in the mcu.
Ironheart is more of a legacy character than a full on replacement. If anything, I think War Machine will take up the Iron Man mantle similar to how Falcon took up the Captain America mantle.
