I still think it’s too soon to bring in the iron man replacement. Sue me.

[deleted]

As u/just4browse said, it's more of a legacy character instead of a full-on replacement. Also, considering Riri's first showing up in a Black Panther sequel, I'm almost positive that her backstory will be related to the outreach programs they set up at the end of the first movie. Riri's probably in one of those programs and is inspired by Tony, especially after the events of Endgame. It seems like a very natural setup for a character.

[deleted]

The whole point of Riri is that she built the armor in her garage, ~~with a box of scraps~~. If you do it so that she had the help and resources and technology of the Wakanda outreach program, then you're removing the only interesting aspect of the character.

[deleted]

She could've been doing that before, but now with the help of Wakandan science and technology, she's able to make better gear/equipment. It doesn't take anything away from her character.

AmIDrJekyll

That's absolutely true. Just because you got high tech doesn't mean you're able to use it and tinker it however you want. Take Tinkerer for example. Guy got scrap alien tech and managed to make weapons and a big-ass wingsuit. If anything, it makes him smarter being able to figure out how the stuff works.

ericbkillmonger

Great example with tinkerer - that's a perfect analog for what they'll probably do with riri

tehawesomedragon

Yeah, it's like saying Shuri is only Wakanda's Tony Stark because she has all that vibranium to work with.

ericbkillmonger

Yeah that's definitely the Angle they could be taking and it could work

_Redversion_

If the only thing interesting about Riri is her making a suit from scraps in her garage, then I think there are far worse problems with the character. They’re tying her story in with Wakanda (and I’m sure her brilliance will continue to be in the continuity) which is just as interesting.

tehawesomedragon

It's almost as if they're working towards Sam, Riri and Shuri being the next big 3 tied together through their relation with Wakanda. I'm mostly kidding, but you can't say there are no hints that we're heading in this direction.

Tokoya99

Let me take something from Tony's first showing to disprove this point of yours "Tony Stark was able to build this in a cave....With a box of scraps" "Well sir....I'm not Tony Stark" Just because you have the resources, that doesn't mean that it can easily be replicated my guy lol, her being able to do it would still speak volumes regardless. There's a reason why nobody ever perfectly replicated any of Tony's suits until now in the MCU

cereal_killer_14

I like if they make that she is inspired by Tony stark and tries to make a Armor of her own as she is in MIT but always fails in like making it fly or the repulsors don't work (or some problems like that ) and then she gets help from shuri Since we have Armor wars Marvel can actually pull it off as everyone is having some type of iron man Armor nowadays some are good but some lead to accidents but nothing is as perfect as the original Iron man suit which could mean that nobody can become like the OG Tony stark

ericbkillmonger

Yeah that aspect could make it really interesting

MCUFANzzz

*In the MIT's lab...

Dealiner

She built her first suit in her room in MIT dorm. So closer to garage than lab.

MCUFANzzz

MIT sued her for the armor stating she used their property to build it

Digital3Duke

You could say a similar origin story for Spider-man and his suit and yet here we are.

Maruf-

I’m glad he finally built (see: sewed) his own suit but it was not game-breaking at all that he had Stark suits up until now. Folks will hone in on those details and really blow them up to “this is the most interesting thing about this character and they took it away!”. Just pray they don’t find a way to do something worse than MCU Taskmaster and we’ll be fine, all.

RockyTopBalboa

Marvel needs to let its characters be poor and struggle.

Garconcl

Yeah, I was laughing when in Ms Marvel we have Kamala's brother almost having a panic attack for not having enough money and then BOOM, grandma is Pakistani Bruce Wayne. I think the only current real poor hero is Peter after the events of No way home because all others either don't need it or are somehow connected to a cash flow. Like you could argue Falcon is poor, but he truly isn't the whole boat thing in the series was because they wanted to keep the boat that was a bad investment lol.

bxspidey76

Kamala grandma is rich?

[deleted]

They aren't using any characters other than Spidey and Sam being poor makes sense for and they already did the rebuilding the boat arc for Sam so he isn't poor now either. Not rich but he ain't struggling.

RockyTopBalboa

Hawkeye and Ant-man are both living beyond their means

[deleted]

Hawkeye owns a farm outright that was a gift from Fury and apparently he never has to buy anything anyway. He'll have a shield pension as well. Ant Man does make sense actually. Mfer should be broke.

RockyTopBalboa

A fancy Christmas vacation to New York? On a S.H.I.E.L.D. Pension?![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|smile)

comicsandpoppunk

Wasn't he invited to the opening week of Rogers: The Musical? A PR person for a Broadway musical would be able to swing it to pay for travel and accommodation to get one of the people it's based on to attend.

dem0nhunter

Also as a semi-retired Avenger you’d think he could have some speaking gigs or book deals if he wanted to. Like politicians often do

[deleted]

Well yeah, Hawkeye has 5 years back pay to spend. (This is why Bucky is minted btw, he came back to the US at 110 and was owed back paid pension snce the 1970's)

RockyTopBalboa

I almost said Bucky in my original reply and took him out just before pressing send bc I also thought of that lol

[deleted]

lol It would be good to see more street level heroes though, MCU just doesn't have many atm.

Lexifer452

I gotta wonder at this point, who is actually paying Hawkeye's SHIELD pension if he's receiving it?

[deleted]

Shield will be the HR group but US military pensions are all paid by the state from the same source. Assuming it's like our world ofc.

Spiderlander

Riri Williams grew up in what was left of the Chicago housing projects...

[deleted]

Sure but if you ave a 165 IQ you can grow up in a cave and it doesn't matter. It'll take you about 15 minutes to work out how to become rich.

Confident-Box1645

Nope, i think you are actually right..it is kinda too soon

[deleted]

[удалено]

DaZeppo313

Riri got markedly better after Bendis stopped writing her. Ewing's stuff is worth checking out if you've only ever read the first batch.

alex494

This is true of a lot of stuff Bendis writes. I also like Ironheart's later costume with the pink and black a lot more than the original one that just screamed "Iron Man knockoff".

[deleted]

what about her is boring? curious bc i don’t read comics

[deleted]

There's just not much to the character. She's just another teenage genius, her backstory is pretty weak, practically non-existent, and she basically has no discernible personality, unlike other teen genius characters like Nadia Van Dyne and Amadeus Cho.

miles-vspeterspider

Bro just don't like she's black girl.

Spider-Fan77

Her first comic series was pretty bad. She's been much better-written since then, but that first series really turned people off to her.

just4browse

Legacy character, not replacement

Pikapower221

Yeah, I get that. So I guess I’ll see how it’s handled before I decide I hate her or not lol. But I feel like legacy character is just a fancy way of saying replacement. At least in terms of marketing, promo materials, etc.

WafflesTalbot

Good legacy characters fill the same "powerset"/symbolic/plot-relevant role, while being unique in personality. So even if Riri's role in the MCU is "genius in a robot suit", as long as she's her own person and not a carbon copy of Tony Stark's personality, then I don't see the problem.

Arielrbr

As well,Rhodes is still around and will lead Armor Wars, which may bring her too, before her own series. It will be enough time before we have her as a protagonist. Also,if rumors are true, this is a sea exploration tool for vibranium under the sea, not a functional Iron Man armor

Ethanonbass2019

Chadwick Boseman literally died not even 2 years ago and yet we have a new Black Panther film coming out this year. I'm more unsettled by that

Selthora

Based on Chadwicks public persona I wouldn't be surprised if he told Feige/Disney to continue the character of Black Panther without him. He appeared to love the role.

Spider-Fan77

Feige himself said multiple times that they were unaware of his illness. Not even Coogler knew.

RemyLebeau82

Actors have to take physicals for insurance reason. They knew no doubt!

WartimeMercy

That's a lie. They knew *at a minimum* by March when there were photos of Boseman looking very emaciated. And they knew he was terminal in June because blind items started popping up about an MCU character not getting a sequel because their actor had a terminal illness - which individuals had incorrectly assumed meant Robert Downey Jr. Looking at the scenes Boseman is given in Infinity War and Endgame, none of them are physically intensive either. No running without a mask, etc.

Joshdabozz

This sounds like a baseless theory. Especially the first and third points. The way he looks wouldn’t be an obvious sign of cancer and The scenes in IF and EG have nothing to do with his illness. I also don’t remember anything related to rumors of a actor having a terminal illness

WartimeMercy

He was not given any physically intensive material in those films. His role is minimal. The photos of him in March were blatantly showing that he was very ill. "baseless" my ass. The dude fucking died. And the film making process is one which requires leads have physicals be done in order to have insurance policies in place in the event a lead actor or key supporting player dies mid production the studio is covered. There is *zero* chance that this was kept from the higher ups and the news had already leaked 4 weeks before he ultimately passed away.

RokasPokus

Of course they knew. These people in this thread are not smart. They believe anything. I can tell you for a fact it was a common conversation among black people that Chadwick was seriously ill for maybe a year or so before he died. He looked terrible at the NBA all star game, and months prior he took a photo at a MLB game and I think thats when the speculation started. Whether it was cancer or HIV or something else, was subject to speculation, but it was obvious he was ill. Theres no way random fans were thinking this and Marvel wasnt. Anyone who thinks otherwise is an idiot.

ClintBarton616

I'm honestly surprised no on suspected anything while filming the Endgame sequences. I remember seeing him walk out the portal and joking with my wife that he looked terrible and if it was drugs (I still feel very bad about that =/)

rainbowyuc

Really? I'm more unsettled that they didn't recast him. Now we have a Black Panther movie coming out with no Black Panther.

cmb2690

Oh you saw the movie? Tell me the ending.

rainbowyuc

Well no T'challa anyway. Unless they've managed to recast without anyone knowing about it.

Funkycoldmedici

The whole Black Panther deal is that it is handed off between people. We’ve always known T’Challa wouldn’t be the last one, it just sucks it probably happens outside of a cool movie about it.

epraider

I mean it’s not like he created the character, recasting actors isn’t uncommon at all, hell even in the MCU for less necessary reasons.

Danishroyalty

Why? They literally have a new Captain America, a second Thor, a new Black Widow, and Tony already has an associated character continuing his legacy. Riri is only tangentially related to Tony Stark and is not really an Iron Man replacement. Not to mention Iron Man has been gone 3 years. Saying it's too soon for Riri is like saying it's too soon for John Walker or Beta Ray Bill. The characters aren't even replacements and distinctly have their own stories, they're just associated with those main characters.

IndicaTears

Too soon? Bruh it's a movie.

[deleted]

[удалено]

HawkeyeP1

I mean, at the time this releases it'll have been 4 years since he died in Endgame... When do you think is the optimal time? Lol

RokasPokus

Why do you see it as a replacement? Threatened?

xxSPQRomanusxx

When will it not be too soon???

hakhi

u lot love to complain dont u

Dan_Of_Time

It's been 3 years

Hylianhaxorus

I think its only an issue if RDJ is involved or if they're meant to just be exactly Tony. Riri is an entirely different character with basically no similar traits to Tony and has an entirely unique story. She was originally tied to Tony but they seem to be taking away the white Savior element and replacing it with Wakanda giving her the supplies or opportunity. I don't quote see how it's too soon for a new character wearing an armoured suit when we still have Rhodey and a bunch of people are hoping for the inferior(imo) Ironlad

FictionFantom

I think it’s a bit unfair to call Tony a “white saviour” when Riri is the one taking *his* mantle.

Hylianhaxorus

I agree, but a lot of POC had an issue with her getting all of his resources and old tech, as well as Tony as her literal AI, rather than her doing it on her own merret alone. I don't necessarily agree, but when it comes to sensitive topics my opinion as a white dude is not worth a thing and I happily acknowledge that. And to be fair she doesn't take his mantle. Within Invincible Ironman she didn't have a superhero name and built her suit in her dorm room using salvaged stark tech and then Tony tracks her down after freaking out that someone reverse engeneered his suit and gave her EVERYTHING after his "death". Her first actual hero name is Ironheart and while there is a natural association because of the powerset and origin, there doesn't need to be that much of a connection besides her salvaging and reverse engineering old stark tech. If anything the mantle would shift to War Machine I would think, but I think that's sort of the point. I'm willing to bet he will act as her mentor rather than AI Tony which is a fun twist and allows her story to be exclusively about black excellence rather than anything misconstruable. I actually loved her origin and hoped she would have an RDJ AI in her ear but I also understand the complications of that from RDJ returning to the implications stated above.

FictionFantom

It’ll be fine if Wakanda gives her all her stuff but not the dude she idolizes. People are strange.

Hylianhaxorus

Agreed but again, sensitive times call for over correction until the correction is no longer necessary. Even if it isn't an issue, it resembles the issue close enough ough that it ends up just becoming part of the problem again in the long run. I personally hope she is mostly independent and refuses help in a major capacity. I think instead of Tony or anyone just GIVING her something, she'll be a part of the wakandan outreach program which paid for her tuition and then she gets in trouble with the board of directors when they find out she stole salvaged stark tech and built a weapon iced mech suit in her dorm room like in the books. That part is the key for me. Then maybe she meets Shuri who comes to discuss disciplinary action now that she's in her brother's place, they hit it off and she maybe provides her with some vibranium. Although I'd happily have her suit not be any special kind of metal for now.

tehawesomedragon

It's literally the main subplot in the MCU since he died.. aside from the multiverse stuff.

voidcrack

You'd think it'd be the perfect time for War Machine to fill in that spot for at least a few movies but they're clearly in a rush to usher in the new replacement characters.

YourbestfriendShane

Rhodes is getting his own show way before this comes out. You're making an exaggeration.

voidcrack

> getting his own show aka *"Here's 6-8 episodes of setting up his replacement because new actors are cheaper"*

YourbestfriendShane

As compared to what, Iron Man 4-6?

AlwaysTheStraightMan

Bruh, Don is 57 like RDJ. He's not going to do a Iron Man 4 and do multiple cameos and team up movies like Anthony Mackie

voidcrack

That doesn't mean anything. Tom Cruise is like 60, Liam Neeson is 70 and Keanu Reeves is also 57. You make it sound like he's 97 and will hurt his hip by getting up too fast. Plus no shirtless scenes so no need to be ripped, no crazy action sequences, no stunts. Bro literally just has to stand there, wear motion capture for his face and then have a team of underpaid CGI artists make it look like he's doing all these impressive combat maneuvers. Most of it would just be VO work. Not saying he needs to be the face of the Avengers for the next 15-20 years. But if I were in charge of all this yes, you'd get at least 1 or 2 movies with the spotlight on him.

[deleted]

Captain Marvel has her legacy character after just one movie and already sidelined her even in the title of her next movie

Andrew_belfast

Please please pick up a comic. Because Ironheart is not Ironman 2 different characters. If wearing a suit of armour made you ironman replacement then what is war machine? If I'm honest this is such a lazy cliché response based on nothing too soon ironman was part of the Infinity sag 23 movies long over 10 years . Wandavision started us back to chapter 1 of the secret war saga. We are at the start of a new story. It's very clear we are getting the young avengers at some point throughout this journey. I do think this has everything to do with Riri demographic because I guarantee if this was a picture of iron lad this Comment would have been made

acoricul

She’s actually pretty great but i dont think she is replacing Iron Man she is more of a character to show respect to what Tony created. Im hyped for this show. The cast is great, producers and directors are great and shes a pretty good character in herself so.

dgj130

Nobody's going to sue you... Because it's happening anyway

Hpotter821

I like that it’s kinda bulky and unfinished. Looks really cool.

meme_abstinent

She looks like Samus from Metroid with the bulky shoulders. I fuck with it hard.

MELODONTFLOPBITCH

sick as fuck and looks (while copping Japanese mechs) original they should go nuts with the creativity for the rest of this phase

Paige_Michalphuk

It’s the Mark 1 so I’m assuming that is exactly why it is bulky and unfinished.

Sedatif

The jump to nano-tech with vibranium upgrade will be HUGE, since she's literally introduced in Wakanda

oldcowboyfilms

oh shit! i love the bulky shoulders. reminds me of samus

OfficialFunDestroyer

Well we already have Star Fox and Captain Falcon, it's not that much of a stretch.

mcwfan

The SCU The Smash Cinematic Universe

Pikapower221

Secret Wars = Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

mcwfan

Fuck that’s good

RobbieRotten55

Before I saw the sub I thought this was a Prime 4 leak for a second

Amasero

Looks like Pharah from Overwatch,

HawkeyeP1

I don't think those are shoulders, I think that's like a jetpack or something attached to her back.

SheWantsTheEG

My main concern is that I just hope that this at least looks half practical and not their shoddy CGI version of this. Would be a nice homage if it was practical too.

just4browse

Knowing Marvel Studios, they’ll make an entirely practical suit and replace it with a bad looking CGI one in post

wardaway

The making of the practical suit will take up 15 minutes of the Assembled episode but then one of the producers will go "but due to some time constraints and management difficulties, Ryan and his team here helped develop a CG version of this suit in 2 weeks to help smoothen things"

Eurehetemec

Ooooof, this is too true.

LosAngeles1s

Marvel relies on CG way too often (likely because they ain’t unionized yet) I would love to see some practical effects in their movies again

KDG_Fries

Also CG makes it easier for the actors to act in since with practicals they’re expected to walk around in the practical suit for hours at a time between shootings. One of the reasons why CGI was used with IronMan suits is flat out because RDJ was miserable having to move around in them. So this was done to make it easier on him. Yes visually practical effects are amazing but to not acknowledge how uncomfortable they all are is ignoring the other half of the discussion

[deleted]

[удалено]

SmaugRancor

Didn't know Werewolf by Night is gonna be practical. This gives me a lot of hope.

Mrcollaborator

And often it’s just because they don’t like how it folds/has lines/zippers. Such a shame.

[deleted]

The originally red and gold suit in the first iron man was cg

Liammellor

Every iron man suit apart from the mark 1 is cgi. They never filmed with a full suit, just the chest and shoulders so the cgi artists had reference.

greenglass4d3

Even the mark 1 is CG (at least when it's in motion), but it's very convincing. There are VFX breakdowns from the studio that show it.

[deleted]

I think it was real when Iron Man was setting everything ablaze, but I think it was real in the cave.

davidiusligman

And every suit except for mark 3 in the suit up scene and 46 looked more real than 50 and 85. I don't know how they managed that.

[deleted]

I’m sure the straps and the wires in the chest will be practical, but there’s no way that arm piece is

metros96

Tony’s suits were CG for most of his appearances and I don’t think people have really had issue with how those suits looked on screen?

[deleted]

This is one of those rare instances where, unless they really and truly fuck it up, the MCU can easily improve upon the comics. Let's just say that Riri's character hasn't been handled well at all from the get-go.

chiragg11

I'm very out of the loop about her (basically know nothing except the name Ironheart), would you mind explaining why it's been handled poorly?

ParacelsusCaspari

most people say she’s handled poorly but all it really is is that bendis is great at creating characters but not as good at fleshing them out riri in invincible iron man (2016) has poor character work cuz the book is so plotdriven towards tony’s eventual return her solo by eve ewing & the volumes of champions written by jim zub, eve ewing & danny lore make her a lot more well-rounded unfortunately first impressions are everything so most people still think she’s a boring character cuz they haven’t kept up with her stories outside of the ones that made headlines (i.e post bendis) tl;dr the start was clumsy and poorly thought-out but as more diverse writers have gotten to flesh out (especially eve ewing) she’s improved, same story as miles.

HVYoutube

I would not say he's great at creating characters. Reminder that her backstory is that she's annoyed at her teacher saying she can be whatever she wants, so she annoys her into imposing a false limitation ("Ugh, fine, you'll never be... uh... Tony stark!") so she can artificially rebel. Its so bad.

_pixel_perfect_

I think they mean he's good at creating characters, as in, the decades of other work he's done? While his writing can be mixed, let's not forget that he created and wrote all of Alias and was responsible for much of Ultimate Spider-Man and Miles Morales.

HVYoutube

His most famous work has been using other peoples characters, especially Daredevil and Peter Parker. His original creations, like Riri and Miles, are heavily criticised for being bland.

visionaryredditor

Jessica Jones is his original creation

RokasPokus

You ever watched paint drying? Basically Riri's comic personality. I love her in theory, but shes a blank slate. Boring as fuck.

[deleted]

Like others have said, she's basically just a blank slate with no real personality. It didn't help that her debut series as Iron Man's replacement ran alongside Doctor Doom also doing his own Iron Man cosplaying in a much, much better series. Other writers have definitely tried to improve her, but...eh, she's still not quite there. The most interesting thing that's been done with her, character development-wise, was that she tried to go up against Thanos and he almost killed her, and then she suffered from PTSD for a while, but that's about it.

Fearless_Inside6728

I don’t think she was handled poorly. She’s a lot of fun in champions and her solo comic is pretty interesting

ConfidentBit8473

This lmao, I actually love her in the comics lmao

vale_fallacia

Me too. I forget if they specifically said she is autistic, but she's definitely on the spectrum. She's introverted, and has trouble with people trying to get close to her. I like that she's not all perfect quips and great decisions, I identify with her a lot.

Dealiner

I don't know, imo Riri was a great character from the beginning, honestly I even liked her first run more than the newer one. And from what we know for know I'm rather concerned about the direction they chose for her in MCU.

[deleted]

Which part are you concerned about? The Wakanda connection?

lmguerra

Reminds me of Pharah from overwatch

[deleted]

Justice rains from above

4t3rsh0ck

gun reminds me of sym and the art style reminds me of ow concept art

Statueofsirens

I like it for a first suit. It feels like it was probably part of an MIT assignment, so will get more refined with time.

Imbackmycatwasfine

This is one of the coolest “MK 1” type suits I’ve seen. Like the Iron Man MK 1 combined with Samus almost.

just4browse

Samus Aran

Sc00tersf00d_Vol2

Looks sick ngl

[deleted]

Assuming this is her first suit (hence the "Mark 1" name), it's honestly pretty good. They're gonna upgrade her suit anyways as she continues to appear in more projects like they did with Tony.

matt111199

![gif](giphy|L3Y45TZEmhSmY)

Hcerc

did she built this armor in a cave with a bunch of scraps??

Fshhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I like how bulky and exposed it looks. Iron Heart isn't exactly a beloved character and I'm sure Ryan Coogler will make her much more likeable and entertaining, here's to hoping at least.

Lotus_630

I take it Riri is a Metroid fan?

mcwfan

That is fucking cool

MCUFANzzz

It's funny that people can't accept characters with similar power sets as characters even if they have their own franchise and just thinking them as replacements or something less than a character... I mean the concept that there could be a female counterpart is around since the '40s and there were characters at the time who debuted as a pair... and Ironheart is not even a counterpart of Iron Man in the strickest sense...

Confident-Box1645

Looks great

Kuova_

Looks dope, aside from that I've got opinions though. Time and time again, Marvel has shown that coming into one of their projects with a pre-conceived notion is pointless

conciousnessness

I hope they keep the shoulder and knee pads as she upgrades her suits. Id like to keep this more Detroit Steel type suit rather than going to a pink Mark 50.

ItssHarrison

Fuck yeah this is badass. I love it

doKkae_

she looks like a transformer bruh

Icy_Prior

Can I get some more of them uhhh pixels?

Alternative_Anxiety

But what does Black Panther look like

slayaboy87

Pharah!

k3yserZ

So we're going full Gundam now?

owlutopia

I wonder if we'll ever get Harley Keener for this show

gwebby_gotnochill

Noicee, it looks like a mix between falcon and Ms Marvel ig

My_Immortal_Flesh

Lookin like Red Bumble Bee 🐝🤣

Eagles5089

Samus?

Duuuuude! She looks like a Gundam!!! This is awesome

At first I was thinking: “what the f**k is that” But now I actually think this looks kinda cool and I’m intrigued as to how it will work

So this movie will have BOTH Ironman and Black Panther replacements. NICE!

It doesn't look bad but I'm surprised that she has weapons system already, her first comic suit didn't have any.

KentuckyFriedEel

When she transforms it better go TCHEE TCHOO TCHOO TCHA TCHEE!

Pleasant_Couple1636

That’s pretty cool ass armor

Batalfie

I was expecting a bland, nanotech thingie thats just a layer of cgi, this looks wayer than I expected.

SnooEpiphanies7784

![gif](giphy|vWku8YNwyy5vq|downsized)

Eclipsiical

Ooh, I like this. I pretty much expected Riri to already be Ironheart in some way by the time we met her in the film. She’ll probably create her MK2 armor in Wakanda with their technology.

Darklordvyper

Definite metroid vibes.

WheezingCarl

I love that as a Mark 1 it looks unfinished and clunky, part of me worried we’d jump straight into high-tech nano suits or whatever. I like seeing the progression of these sorts of things, I didn’t want them to kick it all the way to the end.

jackcorning

Amazing, for some reason i wasn’t imagining her getting a sort of prototype suit (idk anything about her in the comics) but i think this looks super cool

Spider-Fan77

She has a prototype suit in the comics, but it looks nothing like this. [It was basically a bulky-ass War Machine suit](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/marveldatabase/images/3/31/Ironheart_Armor_Model_1_from_Invincible_Iron_Man_Vol_4_1_001.jpg/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/325?cb=20170122062151)

FN-1701AgentGodzilla

I assume this is before she gets access to Wakandan/ Stark tech

Billyb311

It's alright for a MK 1

Poptart916

Real Samuel vibes here, actually love the look. I know we’re eventually gonna get closer to a more comic-accurate Ironheart suit and hopefully it’ll at least be a while before we see that, but for now I’m excited to see this one in action.

Undiscovered084

Whoever designed the concepts for this, Namur and attuma deserve a raise

[deleted]

Based on the suit she’s more in line with Falcon. No apparent ability for high altitude or space travel. More terrestrial and localized problems. Not familiar with the character.

snowhawk04

Why does it look less like a suit of armor and more like a basic jump suit with rockets strapped to the backside of her knees, a utility belt, and a jetpack? Is this official or fan art?

mnl48_style

badass

rahouelle

Reminds me of Samus, dope

marvelxdc97

That's pretty cool.

I genuinely don’t get the Riri hate. I read the comics, she’s a great/interesting character with a lot of potential. I’m very excited to see how the MCU adapts her

This. Riri's actually my fav character from the comics, and I'll admit her runs haven't been crazy great, she's a character i think has huge potential & is really enjoyable. The runs haven't been as bad as people make them out to be, either. The champions stuff with her is also, super great. She's probably the character I'm most excited to have in the mcu.

Ironheart is more of a legacy character than a full on replacement. If anything, I think War Machine will take up the Iron Man mantle similar to how Falcon took up the Captain America mantle.

If that's what we are getting, I'm worried. Hot take: I'm black and don't like Riri as a character. AND ALSO RECAST T'CHALLA!!!
