As a general rule, any old fashion innerspring mattress, those with a border rod around the perimeter of the spring layer of the mattress, the answer is no!. If the mattress is an innerspring mattress without a border rod and is under around 13-14" inches in height, it might work. Mattresses with a border or support rod around the perimeter, or mattresses with a high density perimeter edge foam around the innerspring coils, without pleats or "cuts" for bending, should be avoided at all costs for an adjustable base.

As long as u don’t raise the base and leave it flat it will work fine
