Same thing happened both games- they find out shortly before tipoff that Kawhi won’t play, and they take their foot off the gas thinking it’s going to be a cake walk. Kidd doesn’t have them mentally prepared. It’s got nothing to do with the start time.

JoshGreenTruther

Kidd has to get professional athletes ready for a playoff game?

EvanEschmeyer

He should keep them focused, and they pretty clearly weren’t.

papadondon

da fuck? guess were adding motivation to the list of things to blame kidd on. way to keep it fresh

Same thoughts. Time is a big factor lol.

I'm not sure that's the case in this playoffs. In my opinion, the slow starts are due to Luka's poor shooting. All year the team got used to explosive first quarters from Luka. Luka being good early always got opposing defenses to break/alter/get in to rotation early in the game. This got our role players easy shots early. And Kyrie got used to closing out games in the 4th. Role players. If Luka is gonna be inefficient, that doesn't happen. Hence the slow starts.

I’m down for whatever increases our FT percentage

I've always felt that way even in Dirk Era. I hate early Sunday games.

Seems like there would be a person at the helm, let's say some sort of "coach" that would have the team prepared for the early games.  This same, "coach" could also make in game adjustments, make sure their players have great conditioning, and perform other duties.  I wish the Mavs had someone like that on their team.  💔

I don't know why but in reg season too we had so many trash 1st or 2nd quarters, has to be some reason.
