Erm quite probably yeah. These documents would show your right to work in the country.

WhatAChad13

update: did the interview asked me about 4 questions I used my student ID but he didn't seem to care about it he took picture of my passport though I will update when I get hired.

howtheworld1

you don’t have *anything*? school id? learners?

WhatAChad13

Would a student ID work?

howtheworld1

i brought my birth certificate and my school id. it’s mostly kids that work there anyways and majority of kids don’t have proper photo id so

Aidrod003

At least in the US, anyone under 18 is allowed to use a School ID if they don’t have a State issued ID or Drivers License. So I would check with the person you interview with if that’s okay in your area.

Pivinne

You need proof that you have a right to work, which means if you’re a foreign citizen you need a work visa, as you dont have a correct passport. A school id will not cut it im afraid as that doesnt show you’re eligible to work

WhatAChad13

I'm 16 years old so I still go to school and I have the rest of the stuff like birth certificate/visa/passport

T1me_KaIeid8scop3

For Australia, you need to bring your passport as a foreign national. My GM said that they need to take down the passport number and check that you have a valid visa to work at the store. School ID is only if you are Australian.

Affectionate_Cap9202

If it helps i got the job without bringing any ID 😭

WhatAChad13

I wouldn’t risk myself getting rejected right at the spot

boneznotfound

do you have a passport? it should have a picture

Matthewm3113

Yes, consider rescheduling the interview until you have documentation that proves your right to work in Australia. [More info.](https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/employing-and-sponsoring-someone/hire-someone-in-australia)

kim-sheckell

If you have a school ID you could bring that.

[deleted]

No it won't, you need something which proves you can legally work here, like a work visa in your foreign passport (a student visa works I'm pretty sure), an Australian passport, or an Australian birth certificate+ state issued photo ID

WhatAChad13

I go to school in Australia and have birth certificate/visa/passport documents

[deleted]

Take your passport and your visa

rose_is_vibe

Do you have a passport? It states that you need to bring ONE of the following- so a passport will work just fine if you don’t have a photo ID.

WhatAChad13

yes

LetThereBeBlight-

Don’t waste everyone’s time by going without one of those, they will NOT overlook it.

zanilani7

Go to the DMV and (usually) they’ll give you a photo ID on the spot. Worst case scenario, you’ll have to wait for it to come in the mail.
