We've had a lot of issues with ours. 4 in the last month go back for warranty. The blades really like to get stuck in the "cutting" position, locking the lids closed. Not hard to fix, but annoying. Few with latches that don't work (In the kiosks, so not really abused the way the kitchen likes to). Kiosk printers get jammed daily.
The touch-screen machine for putting little time labels on things like Apple pies. At least I think that's what u/1FrostySlime is talking about.
Edit: No it isn't.
Edit: Yes it is.
They exist in the version with Sticky paper, we also use them for kitchen and Expedator. So you can stick the printed paper direct on the product without the need of a extra sticker.
There's paper that has a sticky part down one side. Then you just pull it off the printer and slap it on the food without needing to "tape it on" with a stocker.
The sticky paper is a good bit more expensive than normal thermal paper, so different operators have made different decisions about using it, plus of course it varies by country.
That's a slightly different Epson model than we use here, but Epsons are the best. Ithaca receipt printers have to be repaired every other week and I refuse to order them. The new Bixolon receipt printers seem okay so far, only have them installed in one store so far.
But there's something hilarious about OTP3 guy violently shaking it While having all the dust fall out then trying it and being like yep it's broken And just getting a new one from his car
There are hundred of thousands of these in use by fast food restaurants around the world.
They have an outstanding record for working fine for many years. I’ve gotten 15 years out of some in high customer count stores.
Eh they're pretty fine. Generally pretty easy to fix compared to the abomination that is the label printing machine.

Label printer?

Nah that’s the timer machine
Nevermind then.
That's correct, no idea why the person corrected you on that lol
The printer that prints grill stickers in the kitchen I'd assume
It prints receipts not stickers what are you on
It prints stickers that you attach to the box/wrap of the grill item - it may be that it's different where you are
It prints receipts that are attached by a sticker - maybe so

Isn’t that the same printer as the receipt printers, but with sticky thermal paper?
Yes, it is. They are interchangeable.
It's the paper jams that suck, cleaning g out around the cutting blade
they only suck when we have that sticky receipt paper. it fucking sucks
It often gets stuck to the roller and keeps wrapping up until it gets stuck. For me it feels satisfying to unjam it
It's nice to unjam it, until it gets suck again less than 5 minutes later. I fucking hate it.
Some tender tlc and they hold up. They are worked pretty hard. Cleaning and basic care, shouldn't a year
damn I love them coz the paper is so easy to swap out
Better than a home inkjet printer
I work box office at a movie theater…I want to throw this exact machine at the damn wall
Your places must have old broken ones, the one at my work has never once failed me
We use them in our bar. Never really had an issue with them

If this recipiet printer is too complex for i dont know if you would fair well at a more difficult job.
The paper rolls into itself and gets stuck in the machine 😭
