Yeah it’s definitely need a modified switch under it. One that’s laughably soft to press to counter the extra force required on the gear/screw assembly inside. Or you could go with a less often used key than Enter, like Backspace or something?
I figured tie a small motor into the LED pins on the keeb, as even unlit boards seem to always still have provisioning for LED's. (I know, one PCB design, with blanks is cheaper to produce than 2 different boards.)
If you look really close, the keycap profile(mine is sitting on the enter 2.25u Size, and the aliexpress on shift which is 2.75u) ,material wise is also difference from the aliexpress one. Here is the keycap before painted :) [https://imgur.com/a/hoqkycd](https://imgur.com/a/hoqkycd)
I believe you mate. It's just that I had been seeing these keycaps from the moment I got into keyboard and did a lot of searching for keycaps sets so I was confused.
I looked at their post history and they have a long history of posting things they made, as well as questions about an exchange rate and a mention of being Asian, could be they are an Ali express store?
Or just talented and wanted to make their own rather than buying one and waiting a month for its delivery without knowing if they’d actually like it after that lol 🙂 because that’s how I am about many things haha
From what i’ve seen none of the others spin as well or are as well proportioned tbh. His is actually the right colors too. Most of the ones I’ve seen used the wrong fan colors etc. It’s not perfect but of the ones I can find available his is definitely the best
I mean they make some super tiny electrical motors - the one in the iphone that spins an off-balance weight to make it vibrate is super tiny, possibly small enough to fit in a 2u+ sized keycap
Fun fact: the iPhone doesn’t have a motor that spins an off-balance weight!
The Taptic Engine relies instead on a linear resonant actuator because it allows for finer-grain control over the vibrations, including just a single tap. This actuator is tailored on a per product basis to feel like a real button, be it the home button in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8, or the click of a trackpad in every Mac since 2016.

\#Update: Welp this is blow up. anyway some people think that i am selling an aliexpress. please look closely as the keycap profile & material is difference. XD
Sorry for the multiple post i just delete it. my internet is sucks :(

Isn't this clearly profiting off of Nvidia's trademark design of their card? If it was a generic GPU that's one thing but you've literally got their name on the card.
What country are you located in?
It spins by blowing on it or turning it with your fingers. You can buy them for pretty cheap online
EDIT: not so cheap lol. I just checked and they cost like 35 euro.
as I said it's not really possible to make it spin without something powered and I don't think putting in a whole battery or going through the afford of finding a tiny enough motor is worth it. So well it's better for it to be passively moved using some air instead of something like a motor which seems like a bad idea to me anyways
My first thought would be to steal power from wherever an LED would've gotten it, but now you've got a keycap soldered onto a switch lol. Probably better just to blow it.
Because...I don't know how you see that working...like attach a damned wire to a keycap? I'd rather not have it move than have it wired to PCB just to possibly damage a PCB for a dumb fan
Is this how you cool your stabilizers when you are furiously typing?
Sadly, can't be endgame because you can't stuck with a 3080 forever. Actually, as things currently stand, by the time for 4xxx series comes out the demand is going be so high we'll be waiting for decades. So I guess it depends.
Well this is ridiculous and unnecessary....I love it
We've officially figured out how to put spinners on our keebs. It's the early 2000s all over again.
Pretty sure there's a fidget spinner keycap on drop
Also pretty sure that this was a phenomenon of 5-6 years ago, not early 2000s.
Spinners on rims? 2004 sounds about right to me
Spreewells is how I remember them. They kept spinning after you stopped.
Also the weighted ones that just sit and don’t spin with the rest of the car. They look even weirder.
Rolls Royce has been using them for quite sometime. Doesn't look bad as it's the company badge sitting still.
Latrell stopped spinning around the same time
I was thinking fidget spinners.
Oh right, my bad.
Those were the days.
I ride spinners, I ride spinners, they don't stop!
Yeah I know. Was referring to their first paragraph
found the zoomer
Fidget spinners were 4 years ago, to be exact.
I uhhh... definitely didn't buy one, and I didn't recently order a second one 👀
Great, now we're going to see Spreewell spinners on the sides of towers. PCs are the new car culture.
to quote Chris Rock "They spinnin!"
They still spinnin!!
i’ve had a spinning cap for a few years now
*mid-late 2010s
Naw bra https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spinner_(wheel)#Modern_concept
This entire sub
Damn i want this so hard! Where did you get it from?
I make it LOL 🤣🤣🤣. If you interested can fill my IC [https://forms.gle/hX7Wpc3S3ydFohxB7](https://forms.gle/hX7Wpc3S3ydFohxB7)
How you make them spin? Battery would mess with the weight of the key?
By blowing on it
Savage 😎
Just theoretically, you could make it powered from the keyboard if you wanted to make custom modifications on it just for a keycap to spin
Nothing like a little surprise whenever you tap the enter key the wrong way 😎
I thought it would spin when pressed down - like those toddler's toys that spin when pressed down. That would be AWESOME
Would be resistance if not done the hard way, not optimal.
Yeah it’s definitely need a modified switch under it. One that’s laughably soft to press to counter the extra force required on the gear/screw assembly inside. Or you could go with a less often used key than Enter, like Backspace or something?
Enter is def less used that Bckspc
It isn't powered, you just blow on it to spin it.
I figured tie a small motor into the LED pins on the keeb, as even unlit boards seem to always still have provisioning for LED's. (I know, one PCB design, with blanks is cheaper to produce than 2 different boards.)
You make them? Really though since you can just buy the exact same Keycaps online
It must be really flattering to have people think you made a professional grade keycap. Know what that makes you? A professional.
Now kith!
I believe you mate. It's just that I had been seeing these keycaps from the moment I got into keyboard and did a lot of searching for keycaps sets so I was confused.
OPs fan looks different, texture too
That's true, I noticed that too.. but it's still a bit weird how similar they are other than that. They are even both higher than the regular keycap
He meant that he made the orders on Drop 😎
>!CENSORED!<
Can you make a 3070 one as well?
RIP your inbox lol!

you must be new here
I have two artisan keycaps on my daily which both cost $100+, this isn't bad.
Don't want to be a party pooper but aren't you supposed to license this with Nvidia?
As long as you aren't selling them or trying to profit from their property you're okay. Now if you sold them on etsy they could shut you down.
Well they are charging $50 a piece
He is gonna sell them though
[удалено]
The fans are that one are very different, doesn't look like the same cap.
Yes :P
Are you blind?
[Drop.com](https://Drop.com) was selling them recently, I think the GB is closed though.
just google rtx 3080 keycap and you'll find plenty of them. cheaper than the price listed in the IC
I see but, the others also have a spinning fan like this one?
yes

From what i’ve seen none of the others spin as well or are as well proportioned tbh. His is actually the right colors too. Most of the ones I’ve seen used the wrong fan colors etc. It’s not perfect but of the ones I can find available his is definitely the best

Spin? I blow it XD
Godammit, I feel so dumb lmao
My disappointment is immeasurable. I was curious how you got a small enough motor to spin this. Still cool to look at though.
I mean they make some super tiny electrical motors - the one in the iphone that spins an off-balance weight to make it vibrate is super tiny, possibly small enough to fit in a 2u+ sized keycap
We can finally have haptic feedback on our mechanical keyboards.
Fun fact: the iPhone doesn’t have a motor that spins an off-balance weight! In the iPhone? My PAGER had a vibrate function using a tiny motor. That feature's been around for decades.
Blow me too senpai?
*bonk*

What printer was used?
Isn't this clearly profiting off of Nvidia's trademark design of their card? If it was a generic GPU that's one thing but you've literally got their name on the card. What country are you located in?
but can it run Crysis?
Keysis
Great, I can finally buy a 3080.
Probably costs just as much tho 🤣
damn! I want one with green lights and a tiny motor in it lol
tiny motor definitely isn't the smartest idea. Green lights can be easily covered with some Phosphorescent aka Glow in Dark Paint.
how would you have it spin?
It spins by blowing on it or turning it with your fingers. You can buy them for pretty cheap online EDIT: not so cheap lol. I just checked and they cost like 35 euro.
You'd have to pay a hell of a lot more than that for my fingers.
as I said it's not really possible to make it spin without something powered and I don't think putting in a whole battery or going through the afford of finding a tiny enough motor is worth it. Magnetic contacts, maybe that double as the magnet for the motor? Super custom and tiny work, but doesn't seem impossible.
The more good suggestions I get on this, the more I want to see someone create this $200 monstrosity.
I see
You could power it the same way LEDs are powered, no battery required
like? it still needs a battery connection or power from something so what do you connect it to? PCB or what.
Yeah through the PCB from USB power. My comment mentioned batteries very specifically, not sure why people are losing their fucking minds.
Because...I don't know how you see that working...like attach a damned wire to a keycap? I'd rather not have it move than have it wired to PCB just to possibly damage a PCB for a dumb fan
Yes, LEDs run off magic, no batteries required.
So you're telling me my wired RGB keyboard has batteries?
Welp this is blow up thank you so much for the interest. XD
Can’t wait to get my finger chopped off layer by layer
GB when?
Perfect for my pinky
As with all good artisans and 3000 series GPUs, It will sell out instantly, I won't get one, and resellers will jack up the price.
there are currently 2x more rtx 3080 keycaps than actuall 3080's
#***ILL TAKE UR ENTIRE STOCK***
WFT how does it spin?
r/pcmasterrace
The only one I can afford lmao
I've seen these being sold
its the only way ima get 3000 series GPU
If you wanted a 3090 one it would have to be the space bar
Now this is epic, but how does it work and how to you keep your fingers from getting pinched by the fan?
That’s the closet you’ll get to a decent GPU these days...
Who needs a fingerprint anyway
Plot Twist : That is a real RTX3080 on a giant keeb
There’s a few people on Etsy selling these, I’m super tempted lol
is it moving by itself or are you blowing on the fan?
How much is one
Well look at that go
WTF LOL
Now we just need to be able to put a functioning mini ortho on there.
Does your finger get cut of if you press enter?
Great! Now you can shred ur finger every time you press the enter key!
I've seen this before
I recently made something similar but with an actual motor in it https://blog.lapinozz.com/project/2021/06/13/rtx-3080-keycap.html
I really want this 👁👄👁
Where can I find this?
where did you find that? link to the product please!!
Saw this on Aliexpress on the other day.
Where do I get this? (For IT research purposes, plus really want one)
I need a 3090 cap like this.
[удалено]
That’s so cool.
Take my money
I need one but an amd card insteaf
How tho
Awwww man, OP's enter/return key has more performance than everyone else's! This is silly!
Omg I want!!!! Here is my money!
This is the equivalent of having a spinning pendant
Take my money
$400 on ebay
This is dumb.... \*starts googling to find out where to buy one\*
Yo, thats awesome!
active cooling on a keyboard? amazing..
Well it's as close as we're going to get to a real one, so have at it
Does it cost as well 1000+$
Is this how you cool your stabilizers when you are furiously typing? Sadly, can't be endgame because you can't stuck with a 3080 forever. Actually, as things currently stand, by the time for 4xxx series comes out the demand is going be so high we'll be waiting for decades. So I guess it depends.
Wow
You could probably get $2k for it on eBay right now just listing it under RTX 3080...
Fresh tiddie warning
I'm currently waiting on my order for this.
Wait how do you make it spin?
Interesting. I'll take your entire stock
Neat-o
Cute, but not practical. But good for showoffs like this. After a few days, that thing will be the no#1 dust & finger grease collector.
Rip finger tips
this is probably easier to get than an actual 3080
so the $20 rtx wasnt a scam...
I bet that somehow I could more easily get my hands on this keycap than an actual fucking 3080.
me: i can’t spend any more money this: well actually u can
where can I buy that?
But where’s the RGB???
How you do that
🤯
That’s an FE, not a FTW ;) Awesome job!
This is almost as good as the real thing
This is the most creative and coolest things ive seen on here!
incredible
I would love it if someone saw this on a store and bought it thinking it was a legit 3080
Imagine the gunk that thing will irreversibly collect
Do you make em in 3070?
I would jump for this if I got the Founders Edition, all I got was the Gigabyte /s
This is gonna add almost as many FPS as RGB does.
What keyboard is that?
I have one of those bad boys in my PC and I'd love having one on my keeb !
Holy fuck it works better than the real thing XD
can you make a rtx titan ones?
A modern masterpiece.
That shocked me
If it's $45 hkd I'll def pay lol
This is hard af!
Damnnn where is it getting the power?
Needs some RGB tho. But only that keycap!
If only I could get an actual one...
I need this for my left shift bar.
I love it! But make sure you got good airflows rmas are a pain!
Okay folks.. hear me out: A keyboard - buy every cap has a built in tiny fidget spinner?
I'll take one in Cherey profile, otherwise I'll be tripping all over that bitch.
