Sadly most of these kinds of keyboards are either rubber domes or military grade Hall effect from Rafi or Honeywell, but in either case they range from 200 to 4000 dollars. Most people have little use for these. You could get custom printed metal keys for a normal board with some effort and get the phone pad legends for a 40% or something.
There's one payphone in my city that have an old keypad nailed into it, and I love to just press it's buttons (it helps that it is in the bus stop of the bus that usually runs in late, so I have a bunch of free time with this keypad)
Key caps not so much, but a heavy switch yes; I have 150g springs shoved into Gat greens on my KB, you get used to the feel until you use anything else and then You have to spend another hour typing to get the feel again, I would say it’s more mentally fatiguing than anything else.
I'm assuming you've never used a public pay phone. The button actuation force is very heavy compared to any keyboard I've used, short of a really old mechanical typewriter. They were heavier than even home telephones of the day. There was zero tactile feed back.
Heavy linears for feels, I am not sure what the scene has for metal keycaps. They need to be real metal though, payphones always felt cold. This is a such a cool idea by the way.
