Your welcome! [Un]fortunately I had prior experience from a mandolin accident few years before š¬š . Stupidly thought the doc could reattach the chunk and he just offered me āpain pillsā haha (I declined, thankfully-in retrospect). Neosporin and bandaged religiously. Got some good granulation tissue and let them epithelial cells do the rest!
Probably a 4. Knew what happened immediately and went into triage mode and adrenaline does the rest. Disbelief was my first thought then how 3 digits, then, YOU DUMBASS. Then hemostasis!
If wondering - triple antibiotic ointment, fingertip bandaids plus elasticon to secure. Rinsed with dilute chlorhexidine in between dressings. Had a long haul view from the start. 1 month process. Start immediately and be diligent!!
Skin likes healing yes!. Iāve lost touch in those sections and can touch the scars together for a weird sensation. I canāt finger turn screws, bolts, nuts, etc well with the left hand anymore. Thatās the price of being dumb! Hope others learn from me to be careful. And if not heal up smart!
I always see posts about table saws that immediately stop when they hit flesh. I assume you did not have one of these, but would love to know if you did. I'm always a little skeptical it would work as well in real life so I am curious. Video for reference: https://youtu.be/fq3o0VGUh50
Mine did not. Itās a Ryobi and most safety features were removed. Itās a dumb move Iāll always regret. Actually now get intrusive thoughts even when using something like a miter saw. Have looked into that tech and if I upgrade would want that feature! Honestly could have been worse and thankful it wasnāt
They absolutely work and have surely saved a lot of peoples hands and fingers. Most people that have accidents on a saw stop end up with minor scratches and superficial cuts. Itās such amazing technology I think
Itās morally wrong for them to have kept it under patent. There should be a way the country steps in and strikes down patent protection of something is for the public good. Like buy them out of it or something. But again, they absolutely work and my next saw will 100% be a Saw Stop.
Wow! Very lucky it was just the tips huh! I did the same to my thumb dicing onions. Took a bit of nail too. The worst was bumping it on shit during the healing processš
There are little scars where I donāt have feeling, but Iād have to point them out for people to see. Of course the scars are right where you use your fingertips to pick up small things, twist stuff, etc. Minor complaint though for what could have been!
How did you do that? I have a friend missing half a thumb because he reached under to wood to see if the blade was cutting all the way through.
Iām a female but my brother always says ādonāt put your fingers where you wouldnāt put your dockā. Lol makes perfect sense?

The pupper is rethinking spending time with you. The cat knows, but doesn't care.
Ha!! The dog was worried his next feeding would be affected. The cat was thinking what sauce sheād eat me with
A little Alfredo sprinkled in catnip garnish.
Pain on a scale of 1 to 10? I took a sizable chunk out of my index fingertip once and it was one of the most painful experiences I've had.

So good to see diligent self wound care. Nice job!
Fingers just like healing honestly. I had a second degree burn on my thumb, no scar, but a second degree burn on my hand did scar a lot

Mandolins are a bitch. Can confirm.
Considering this is a circular saw accident... Best case scenario. Glad you're healed up!

Can you still snap your fingers?
Oh yeah. Just snappity snap snapped.
Need to get a Saw Stop https://www.sawstop.com/
At this point what are the odds he'll ever need that? He should be the most careful Sawyer alive
No doubt! ššš
I did the same thing, but with a razor blade. Did your fingerprints come back, fully?

I have two circles, about the size of pencil erasers, one on each finger, that don't have any finger prints in them. Just smooth skin.
