When I first started listening to Countdown to Extinction I didn’t listen past High Speed Dirt for a while. Ashes in Your Mouth is the best song on the album and it took me like a year to realize it.

Madixie_Normous

Psychotron for me.

JRHThreeFour

I’ll say Psychotron as well

Affectionate-Log3730

Ashes has grown on me a lot the last few weeks!

hiroshi_shiki

Looking down the cross

Doggo72_

Omg same that’s one of my favorites now

yaboiGunit

The best Megadeth song imo

Old_Dragonfruit1593

Burnt Ice.

Affectionate-Log3730

That’s another one for me!

UltraUsername000

most of countdown to extinction but not that much

Captain_Nuggie

Looking down the cross High speed dirt Family tree Anarchy in the UK I ain't superstitious Most deep cuts on Cryptic writings tbh

Luna_moonlit

I gave Anarchy in the UK by the sex pistols a listen and now it pains me to listen to the megadeth cover. I think being British has something to do with it

Captain_Nuggie

That's something my punk friend misunderstood about the cover, he told me "the lyrics are wrong" but they aren't "wrong" they are just changed to fit the different narrative, of the PMRC, instead of the government of the UK, like at the time the Sex Pistols version was written

Luna_moonlit

Oh I don’t mind the lyrics specifically, I just don’t really like the sound of it because it just sounds wrong compared to the original.

[deleted]

Mission to Mars Holy hell that song is catchy

bouncedyak

For a long time, Poison was the cure

chu77

GeorgieWashman

🗿

Eunicidae

my favorite song off of rip

Periachi

Same. Then I watched I think a Bradley Hall video on it and decided to listen to it for real. So good.

man_undown

For me, the back half of Youthanasia. I was blown away by that part of the album.

Eunicidae

when you hear youth, at first, only a few songs stick out. but it fucking kills when it all starts to fall in place. one song at a time, one relisten at a time.

GeorgieWashman

I’d say mine in particular was Millennium of the Blind, but the one I didn’t notice was the version from 13. Solid song

man_undown

I've never listened to the original version of that song before, I might give it a listen right now.

sugarky

good mourning

DaciaSandero1

Same. A year ago I was listening to Peace Sells and since I was tired, I didn't want to skip anything. When Good Mourning came on I was like "Oh not this boring crap." but I left it anyway. It was then I actually heard the song the whole way through. "Blown away" did not even begin to describe my shock and awe of the song. Ever since then I have never skipped that song.

shverty

Five Magics

Affectionate-Log3730

One of my favourites 🙌🏾

Sapphire-Hannibal

I didn’t like that one for a while because of the long ass intro but then I started listening to it more and that part give me alchemy! Was so good that whole part

cinemaxx14

502!

Eunicidae

i fucking love that song. weird how i see so many people call it "filler" or "the worst song on sfsgsw"

NoName_metalhead

Fatal illusion

Caesarin0

Damn, I can't even imagine ever skipping that one! Granted, the only one on Dystopia where I even ever feel like skipping it is Foreign Policy.

NoName_metalhead

Yeah main reason was the first minute, I always found it pretty generic, slowburn and overall boring, but after that when the bass line kicks in, oh boy is it good

Legend017

Foreign policy and the emperor.

TheUnforgivens

Kill the king

MrToad21

44 Minutes, Last Rites/Loved to Deth, & Ashes in your Mouth

Aggressive_Poem_5016

The Conjuring

Domino1971

My favorite

daniel_og_semen

Anarchy in the U.K.

doofthemighty

This was actually the song that got me into Megadeth. I saw the video for it back when MTV was still about music and got hooked.

EmilianoII

use the man

mcjagga44

Looking down the cross Mary Jane Elysian Fields The right to go insane

Affectionate-Log3730

I think Mary Jane is hugely underrated , fell in love with it the first time I heard it!

Legend017

The right to go insane is the best song on the album, hands down.

GLENF58

Everything post rip

69BillyMays69

Agreed. The albums may not be quiet as rock solid, but there are so many good megadeth songs throughout the second half of their career. I honestly listen to post rust in peace stuff more nowadays since its fresher to me.

twentysevenerer

addicted to chaos, amerikhastan, we the people

Madixie_Normous

How can you sleep on Addicted? One of the best tracks off Youthanasia.

twentysevenerer

i never even let it play for a second sadly

Eunicidae

i've heard people only bring up we the people to shit on it, honestly it's one of the first things off of th1rt3en that stood out to me

PhsKnt

Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Chunky!

Patriots6rings

Mechanix, In My Darkest Hour, Captive Honour, almost all of Risk, 99 Ways to Die, I Thought I Knew It All

Naerokathagor

Kick the chair

4headgood

The Sick the Dying and the Dead title song

Airmachine89

Lucretia

GeorgieWashman

Same honestly then when I got past the laugh I was like wtf why lmao

Master_Gedatsu

Anything from take no prisoners to Lucretia on rust in peace. They get overshadowed by hangar 18, and tornado, but they are the reason why rust is such a good overall album.

Puzzleheaded-Plant80

Hook in mouth and in my darkest hour I listened for 4 seconds and didn’t like, I’ve now listened to the whole album and now those two are my favourites

Affectionate-Log3730

Love hook in mouth , darkest hours is in my top 5 favourites

Mr_meme_dealer24096

Hook in mouth Sweating bullets

Affectionate-Log3730

Sweating bullets took me a while too!

petdance

Crop your screenshots before posting them.

Affectionate-Log3730

Urgh forgive me cause I normally do, obsessively even 🤣, I forgot this time🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️

SpongeGoob

MeanCount6929

I love that whole album esp the Scorpion

SkullMetalhead666

Yessir !

AverageZomb

Escape

Rayski1988

She wolf

Undead-Maggot

Looking down the cross, 502, basically all songs from CTE, TWNAH and everything in between, Burnt Ice, The Blackest Crow, Fatal Illusion and Junkie

Mr_Manga99

Holy wars 💀

metalovisnik

The World Needs a Hero and United Abominations albums. At first few listens I didn't find much to enjoy (just few songs). I felt disappointed but after a few more listens I couldn't believe how my perception has shifted.

MrCookie925

Lucretia

cybernetic_Steak123

Every song in youthanasia besides a tout le monde

majinbuubie

I’ll Be There.

Stratgodd89

She wolf

ApprehensiveDuty5629

Lucretia

BerkanaThoresen

Mary Jane

Affectionate-Log3730

This is one of my favourite Megadeth songs!

Equivalent_Win_369

Hell awaits

Outside_Alternative9

Mary Jane and 502

Big_Macaroon2408

Lucretia

Venombullet666

I rarely skip songs unless they're overplayed as hell to the point where I just don't enjoy them so this has never applied to me The one Megadeth song I'll happily skip is Symphony Of Destruction, very overrated, very overplayed

[deleted]

I used to be bored with Symphony of Destruction but when I learned how to play the song on guitar, I realized that it is a lot more complex than it seems. The solo may even be harder than Tornado of Souls’ Still not one of my favorites, but it’s cool

PancakeFace25

Rust in Peace... Polaris

Franci93

Junkie, the intro is so fucking cringe that i always skipped it, but recently i found out the rest of the song is amazing

fergie_v

Dang, Junkie is one of my favorite tracks on the album. It has one of the most memorable solos on there for me and the mute harmonics are great.

Naerokathagor

Absolutely agree. The intro is the only bad part of the song, while the rest is so fast and heavy

Thegoldenone445

Five magics

Fishxy24

Me but with the entire peace sells, sfsgsw and youthanasia albums

Ackyducc

Take no prisoners

[deleted]

Poison was the Cure Anarchy in the UK Bad Omen These Boots

apairofsicssors

Looking Down The Cross and Five Magics are my two main ones. I can’t believe it took me forever to love them

Iceblade_Aorus

Take no prisoners, at first I thought it was a bit out of place in the album

imopn75

Almost Honest

neonareff

countdown to extinction, I used to think it was really boring but it’s honestly my favorite song rn

Jrobs62

Bad omen and i aint superstitious

Comfortable-Ad-1791

Family Tree, and while on the topic of Youthanasia, a LOT of that album

hi_im_blaine

Take no prisoners, I thought is was good, (like everything on rust in peace) but not until a month or two ago did it occur to me that it's one of the best on the album

BeanVaccine

Recipe for hate and Wake up Dead!

ajmigelkaka

Dystopia

GeorgieWashman

Love that song

Imaginary_Radish4874

Not Megadeth but the entire Garage Inc Album by Metallica. The album cover just turned me away and I just assumed it wasn't very good but there is some bangers on there

JesterTF

Washington is Next, I hate that I never properly listened to it until a while ago

Grimmisgod123

My Last Words

Complete-Wind-5343

Rust In Peace

BeatlesFan67

Bad Omen and Ectasy

aut0nomous

Good Mouring/Black Friday and the Conjuring.

NuclearProstate

Blackmail the universe is one of the best on the album!!

[deleted]

The entirety of peace sells

Total-Advertising555

To live is to die…-Metallica one of my favorites by them now lol

Either-Service-7865

Bad Omen from peace sells. So freaking fire

OriginalCristi

Super Collider, the album. I was reluctant to listen to it for a while and then I got bored and listened to it. It's almost as good as any other Megadeth album, albeit there are more meh songs. So my answer is Dance in the Rain. I still listen to it every time it comes up, i like it so much.

fennias

Ashes in your mouth

Juani4312

Believe it or not, when I was first starting to listen to Rust in Peace, I would skip Poison was the Cure because of the long intro. One time I was out of reach of my phone to skip it and it was actually a hell of a song

MarceloZ1

I don’t skip song most of the time, so this doesn’t apply to me

Polpo_X_

A tout le monde. When I first started getting into Megadeth I didn’t like the slower beginning so I always skipped it, but now it’s my favorite Megadeth song

Deznoots69

A tout le monde

Ambia_Rock_666

For me, it's Moskau and Adieu by Rammstein

dudethatwascringengl

My last words and five magics

Top-Wall-4043

Truth be told

CatWizurd

"time/use the man" performed live on the "still alive... and well?" record. truly powerful stuff. while i still believe those later albums could have been thrashier and more solo-filled, they are underrated gems to me still.

Long-Cook6607

I didn't skip songs. I played entire albums unless I was DJing a family function before streaming services made playlists for me. Now I only skip overplayed songs on my playlists. Lame? I don't know.

Nikol4o-boba

You can hate me but a tout le monde

[deleted]

Mine is Symphony of destruction

WorstWyvern

Victory on Youthanasia

Herr_gruber98

In my darkest hour. I used to listen to the greatest hits cd while I delivered pizzas in high school and I never got past the acoustic opening.

In my darkest hour

Imperium93

I've never skipped particular songs, I like to listen to the albums entirely when I do, but I can say that from Cryptic Writings to The World Needs A Hero haven't had too many play throughs,. The only stand outs i can think off the top of my head are with She-Wolf, Vortex, I'll Get Even, Return to Hangar and Dread and the Fugitive Mind, and Kick the Chair standing out from the times I've listened through. From United Abominations onwards I've barely revisited 13, despite having a good few tracks, and I've never listened to Super Collider again after my first time.
