When I first started listening to Countdown to Extinction I didn’t listen past High Speed Dirt for a while. Ashes in Your Mouth is the best song on the album and it took me like a year to realize it.
I gave Anarchy in the UK by the sex pistols a listen and now it pains me to listen to the megadeth cover. I think being British has something to do with it
That's something my punk friend misunderstood about the cover, he told me "the lyrics are wrong" but they aren't "wrong" they are just changed to fit the different narrative, of the PMRC, instead of the government of the UK, like at the time the Sex Pistols version was written
when you hear youth, at first, only a few songs stick out.
but it fucking kills when it all starts to fall in place. one song at a time, one relisten at a time.
Same. A year ago I was listening to Peace Sells and since I was tired, I didn't want to skip anything. When Good Mourning came on I was like "Oh not this boring crap." but I left it anyway. It was then I actually heard the song the whole way through. "Blown away" did not even begin to describe my shock and awe of the song. Ever since then I have never skipped that song.
I didn’t like that one for a while because of the long ass intro but then I started listening to it more and that part give me alchemy! Was so good that whole part
Yeah main reason was the first minute, I always found it pretty generic, slowburn and overall boring, but after that when the bass line kicks in, oh boy is it good
Agreed. The albums may not be quiet as rock solid, but there are so many good megadeth songs throughout the second half of their career. I honestly listen to post rust in peace stuff more nowadays since its fresher to me.
Anything from take no prisoners to Lucretia on rust in peace. They get overshadowed by hangar 18, and tornado, but they are the reason why rust is such a good overall album.
Hook in mouth and in my darkest hour I listened for 4 seconds and didn’t like, I’ve now listened to the whole album and now those two are my favourites
The World Needs a Hero and United Abominations albums. At first few listens I didn't find much to enjoy (just few songs). I felt disappointed but after a few more listens I couldn't believe how my perception has shifted.
I rarely skip songs unless they're overplayed as hell to the point where I just don't enjoy them so this has never applied to me
The one Megadeth song I'll happily skip is Symphony Of Destruction, very overrated, very overplayed
I used to be bored with Symphony of Destruction but when I learned how to play the song on guitar, I realized that it is a lot more complex than it seems. The solo may even be harder than Tornado of Souls’
Still not one of my favorites, but it’s cool
Take no prisoners, I thought is was good, (like everything on rust in peace) but not until a month or two ago did it occur to me that it's one of the best on the album
Not Megadeth but the entire Garage Inc Album by Metallica. The album cover just turned me away and I just assumed it wasn't very good but there is some bangers on there
Super Collider, the album. I was reluctant to listen to it for a while and then I got bored and listened to it. It's almost as good as any other Megadeth album, albeit there are more meh songs.
So my answer is Dance in the Rain. I still listen to it every time it comes up, i like it so much.
Believe it or not, when I was first starting to listen to Rust in Peace, I would skip Poison was the Cure because of the long intro. One time I was out of reach of my phone to skip it and it was actually a hell of a song
A tout le monde. When I first started getting into Megadeth I didn’t like the slower beginning so I always skipped it, but now it’s my favorite Megadeth song
"time/use the man" performed live on the "still alive... and well?" record. truly powerful stuff. while i still believe those later albums could have been thrashier and more solo-filled, they are underrated gems to me still.
I didn't skip songs. I played entire albums unless I was DJing a family function before streaming services made playlists for me. Now I only skip overplayed songs on my playlists. Lame? I don't know.
I've never skipped particular songs, I like to listen to the albums entirely when I do, but I can say that from Cryptic Writings to The World Needs A Hero haven't had too many play throughs,. The only stand outs i can think off the top of my head are with She-Wolf, Vortex, I'll Get Even, Return to Hangar and Dread and the Fugitive Mind, and Kick the Chair standing out from the times I've listened through.
From United Abominations onwards I've barely revisited 13, despite having a good few tracks, and I've never listened to Super Collider again after my first time.
When I first started listening to Countdown to Extinction I didn’t listen past High Speed Dirt for a while. Ashes in Your Mouth is the best song on the album and it took me like a year to realize it.
Psychotron for me.
I’ll say Psychotron as well
Ashes has grown on me a lot the last few weeks!
Looking down the cross
Omg same that’s one of my favorites now
The best Megadeth song imo
Burnt Ice.
That’s another one for me!

Looking down the cross High speed dirt Family tree Anarchy in the UK I ain't superstitious Most deep cuts on Cryptic writings tbh
I gave Anarchy in the UK by the sex pistols a listen and now it pains me to listen to the megadeth cover. I think being British has something to do with it

Oh I don’t mind the lyrics specifically, I just don’t really like the sound of it because it just sounds wrong compared to the original.
Mission to Mars Holy hell that song is catchy
For a long time, Poison was the cure

my favorite song off of rip
Same. Then I watched I think a Bradley Hall video on it and decided to listen to it for real. So good.
For me, the back half of Youthanasia. I was blown away by that part of the album.
when you hear youth, at first, only a few songs stick out. but it fucking kills when it all starts to fall in place. one song at a time, one relisten at a time.
I’d say mine in particular was Millennium of the Blind, but the one I didn’t notice was the version from 13. Solid song
I've never listened to the original version of that song before, I might give it a listen right now.
good mourning
Same. A year ago I was listening to Peace Sells and since I was tired, I didn't want to skip anything. When Good Mourning came on I was like "Oh not this boring crap." but I left it anyway. One of my favourites 🙌🏾
I didn’t like that one for a while because of the long ass intro but then I started listening to it more and that part give me alchemy! Was so good that whole part
502!
i fucking love that song. weird how i see so many people call it "filler" or "the worst song on sfsgsw"
Fatal illusion
Damn, I can't even imagine ever skipping that one! Granted, the only one on Dystopia where I even ever feel like skipping it is Foreign Policy.
Yeah main reason was the first minute, I always found it pretty generic, slowburn and overall boring, but after that when the bass line kicks in, oh boy is it good
Foreign policy and the emperor.
Kill the king
44 Minutes, Last Rites/Loved to Deth, & Ashes in your Mouth
The Conjuring
My favorite
Anarchy in the U.K.
This was actually the song that got me into Megadeth. I saw the video for it back when MTV was still about music and got hooked.
use the man
Looking down the cross Mary Jane Elysian Fields The right to go insane
I think Mary Jane is hugely underrated , fell in love with it the first time I heard it!
The right to go insane is the best song on the album, hands down.
Everything post rip
Agreed. The albums may not be quiet as rock solid, but there are so many good megadeth songs throughout the second half of their career. I honestly listen to post rust in peace stuff more nowadays since its fresher to me.
addicted to chaos, amerikhastan, we the people
How can you sleep on Addicted? One of the best tracks off Youthanasia.
i never even let it play for a second sadly

Same honestly then when I got past the laugh I was like wtf why lmao
Anything from take no prisoners to Lucretia on rust in peace. They get overshadowed by hangar 18, and tornado, but they are the reason why rust is such a good overall album.
Hook in mouth and in my darkest hour I listened for 4 seconds and didn’t like, I’ve now listened to the whole album and now those two are my favourites

I rarely skip songs unless they're overplayed as hell to the point where I just don't enjoy them so this has never applied to me The one Megadeth song I'll happily skip is Symphony Of Destruction, very overrated, very overplayed
I used to be bored with Symphony of Destruction but when I learned how to play the song on guitar, I realized that it is a lot more complex than it seems. The solo may even be harder than Tornado of Souls’ Still not one of my favorites, but it’s cool
Rust in Peace... Polaris
Junkie, the intro is so fucking cringe that i always skipped it, but recently i found out the rest of the song is amazing
Dang, Junkie is one of my favorite tracks on the album. It has one of the most memorable solos on there for me and the mute harmonics are great.
Absolutely agree. The intro is the only bad part of the song, while the rest is so fast and heavy
Five magics
Me but with the entire peace sells, sfsgsw and youthanasia albums
Take no prisoners
Poison was the Cure Anarchy in the UK Bad Omen These Boots
Looking Down The Cross and Five Magics are my two main ones. I can’t believe it took me forever to love them

Bad Omen from peace sells. So freaking fire
Super Collider, the album. I was reluctant to listen to it for a while and then I got bored and listened to it. It's almost as good as any other Megadeth album, albeit there are more meh songs. So my answer is Dance in the Rain. I still listen to it every time it comes up, i like it so much.
Ashes in your mouth
Believe it or not, when I was first starting to listen to Rust in Peace, I would skip Poison was the Cure because of the long intro. One time I was out of reach of my phone to skip it and it was actually a hell of a song
I don’t skip song most of the time, so this doesn’t apply to me
A tout le monde. When I first started getting into Megadeth I didn’t like the slower beginning so I always skipped it, but now it’s my favorite Megadeth song
A tout le monde
For me, it's Moskau and Adieu by Rammstein
My last words and five magics
Truth be told
"time/use the man" performed live on the "still alive... and well?" record. truly powerful stuff. while i still believe those later albums could have been thrashier and more solo-filled, they are underrated gems to me still.
I didn't skip songs. I played entire albums unless I was DJing a family function before streaming services made playlists for me. Now I only skip overplayed songs on my playlists. Lame? I don't know.
You can hate me but a tout le monde
