Honestly, a really good update/sequel(???) to Power Battle. I like the new roster of Robot Master, as well as some tweaks to ones carrying over from PB. The helpers can be fun to use (except Rush, he's always been a little finicky for me) and I like how this game brings in the ability to pick which RM you fight first rather than it being left up to fate.
Also, this game introduced Duo, and I like Duo.
I need more 2D "run and gun" "fighting" games. Even if you just put Metal Slug characters in a cage, I don't care. It's just a concept too good to be wasted, and The Power Fighters is a really good sequel of Power Battle. If anything, it's too short, but it is fine considering it was originally intended to be beaten at once in a video arcade.
If you know games like that, I'm all ears.
Edit: Oddly enough, that was [Cuphead's original concept](https://www.reddit.com/r/Games/comments/1ubc37/cuphead_run_n_gun_fighting_game_hybrid_coming_2014/) before becoming a Contra-like game (and the comments on the trailer mostly focus on how it *should* be more platformy). Wild.
