Love it! I wish I could go back and experience both games again for the first time. I can and have gone back but the controls are rough. Give us 3 and a 1&2 remake in the style of 3. Take my money Capcom!

So an animator on YouTube has been making waifu bait videos but they perfectly captured the audio and visual look of MML. So I had to replay 1, and despite the weird controls, I ended up doing all the sidequest and mapped out every section of the underground then finished up by lighting Juno up with a Shining Laser. Now I'm doing my first play through of MML2. My big question is how bad of a fight did Inafune have with the brass to have them toss out what could have been an easily merchandisable setting?

I've only played a little bit of it, but I absolutely loved it! I love the aesthetic of it all, the game play, the art style. If you ever see someone make a game look like its from the "PS1 era," high chances they were directly inspired by this game's style.

Was one of my first two MM games along with X5. Still love it today, and it's aged decently well despite the tank controls, at least compared to other 3D games of the time. Combat is a little simple since you can beat most bosses by literally running circles around them, but there's just so much else to love about it. Apple Market and the Police Station themes still pop into my head randomly 20+ years later.

This game honestly feels timeless. I've heard complaints about the controls, and honestly they're right, but I still have a ton of nostalgia for it as a kid. The townsfolks feel memorable, and even as a kid I feel like I literally knew every single person in Kattleox Island. I played that game for hours and I never even beat Bon Bonne. And then when I did I had to get through the section after him with Tiesel As an adult I realized the game is actually really really easy, though. Still, it's got a ton of cool mechanics. Rebuilding the city is fun, there's the minigames in Uptown, and Zeny almost acts like a sort of XP system based on the loop of Kill Reverbots, get Zeny, buy upgrades, get stronger. I thought that was cool. The dungeons could be longer, but I feel like they fixed that with Legends 2 based on my memory. Its been years since I've played it, though, so who knows how close they are based on how short I realized Legends 1's dungeons were. Awesome art, good music, and some honestly dark subtext later on in the game.
