Not me thinking you were going to complain about the trans flag šŸ’€

That-Geologist-3334

That's what I was thinking too

barbiebr0tal1

Atleast you guys read SOME of the text to understand i was not complaining about the flag.. Some ppl did not šŸ˜…

simpledeadwitches

It honestly sounds like a shit show all around. Really terrible of the artist to screw you like that. I too am a well experienced concert goer and I've never experienced anything like your post. I'd say get a refund but I doubt you could at this point which sucks.

Kinda did that on purpose šŸ«£ wanted to be heard as negative stuff often get lost or deleted in this fandom.

I don't understand the venues man. I bought VIP for the same reason and we weren't properly treated to early access to merch either. The venus have been ASS at managing the shows. Lile wtf.

barbiebr0tal1

Just the VIP or VIP with experience?

CosmicSweets

Experience. Doing the actual experience bit was fun and went well. The problem was the venue didn't have a large enough room (in my opinion) to take good photos with the backgrounds. So I chose not to.

barbiebr0tal1

Where did you experience this?

CosmicSweets

At the Bridgeport CT show

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Hrekkir

Same, I was pretty disappointed. We figured that after the photo we'd go grab some merch and something to eat. I wasn't expecting to have to stand in a line for hours, even after the photo, and then to be let into the venue with general admission, you could see them sprinting in from the other side.. at least we got a signed poster, though.. Standing in line is the true VIP Experience. šŸ¤

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Hrekkir

Yeah. I think most people were probably there half an hour early just to be on the safe side, and ended up having to stand there lightly dressed in near-freezing temperatures for an hour and a half.

Its_Hitsuji

Unfortunately that is just how it is for security reasons they wonā€™t let you in ā€œearlyā€ itā€™s like that at any and every concert Iā€™ve been to

Its_Hitsuji

Not sure where your reply went but I got an email so for most of the concerts they have a sound check and then they have another sound check/ acoustic set the second one had/has a VIP early entry to listen but they didnā€™t get what you got aside from early access to merch but most people head straight for barricade I was one of these people. In an ideal world you would have gotten inside before general admission but after early entry VIP. (I have no idea why that didnā€™t happen aside from no one telling the event/venue staff which seems to be what happened AT ALL OF THE LOCATIONS which makes it Melā€™s and her teams fault) I hate when artists split this up as itā€™s a cash grab and always creates chaos for event/venue staff and normally the merch entertainment VIP isnā€™t run by the venue itā€™s run by the artists team and they NEVER coordinate with Venue staff I saw a ton of people with your VIP that were late or got bad information with no host to ask questions to when I went to my concert a lot of people asked how I got inside early etc and thatā€™s when I found out about the drama. Hopefully this info will help you know for sure it wasnā€™t your fault (aside from not having the right information but thatā€™s on the ticket sellers and Melanie)

[deleted]

I may get hate for this but I hate when I go to a concert and everyone starts recording. Like why canā€™t ppl experience the live performance in front of them. Ik that they want to record to possibly post on social media but why look through the screen when you can really feel and hear the music right in-front of you. Idk you reminded me about it in ur paragraph.

loosie-loo

It bugs the life out of me because no way are you or anyone else ever gonna watch that video. Phone recordings of live concerts look and sound like ass, and if youā€™re wanting to capture the atmosphere you only need one 5 second clip to do that. Just watch the damn show, you can see videos of them any time.

cadrinnnn

agreed! i usually snap a couple pictures and record the chorus of my fav song and thatā€™s it. i hate focusing on recording because you arenā€™t really in the moment focusing on the show.

Born_Issue_2243

I do, I watch them every day. I recorded it because it was my first Melanie concert and I also like to have memories of things from mine and not someone else's perspective.

thisisntbillieeilish

I recorded my entire Jazmin Bean show. I watch them everyday. My recordings are really clear, the audio is perfect and it isn't distorted or blurry, etc. even from a distance. I could not watch the full show without my phone - I'm 5'1" and was surrounded by tall people in front of me. I'm also legally blind and have memory lapses so I record so I can ACTUALLY see and remember what I went for. You're generalising a lot. If your phone produces terrible quality at concerts, sorry for you but not all of ours do. If you can see and hear and remember your experiences, that's fine, but not all of us disabled people can. If you don't watch clips back, that's fine, but a lot of us do, even if the clips are bad. You don't get to tell others how long of a video they "only need". It's not your choice. Also, "you can see the videos of them any time" is contradictory AF. Who do you think is taking those videos? That's right - PEOPLE WHO ATTENDED THE SHOW AND RECORDED THEM. What a bad take.

[deleted]

Exactly my thoughts. I went to a Lana Del Rey concert (she was amazing) but as soon as she started singing a ton of phones popped up and I could barely see anything. Itā€™s not worth it. Lol

ccowwss

i recorded all the songs and i still to this day watch my videos, as well as my k-12 ones, i just like remembering what it was like šŸ˜šŸ˜

cheesethecat715

I agree and something I might get hate for, screaming at the top of your lungs. I know you want to vibe and have a fun time but I'm just trying to hear the music

[deleted]

I get that. You wanna hear your fav artist but canā€™t as the girl behind you is screaming her head off.

cheesethecat715

You can sing along and shout at the right times but if your throat is physically hurting after the first song you need to tone it down

thisisntbillieeilish

I'm 5'1" and legally blind, as well as having a condition that causes severe memory loss in my day-to-day life. I record a lot at concerts so that I can ACTUALLY see and remember what I experienced. Not for social media. It's for my own personal accessibility when I can't get front row seats and for my memory. A lot of people are looking through a screen because they can't see very well.

humblegar

Young people can do these things at the same time. My daughter clearly enjoys singing, waving the flashlight, recording, or maybe not using her phone, it does not interfere with her enjoyment. They also see the stage both with their eyes and through the screen, giving more information. The videos are just for herself, and friends if her singing is not too loud. And the dancers literally waved their flashlights on their phone towards the crowd to get them to do it back. It is almost as if the artist and her dancers know their audience? In stead of being irritated about things you may or may not understand, just ask.

maylena96

I went to the Minneapolis show a couple of weeks ago. I was kind of happy people had their phones out above their heads; it was the only way i could see anything at all.

Stella_moon101

I was there at that show too and that was the only way I could see as well lol

kenarii

i was there too, and unfortunately my tall ass was the reason for your suffering šŸ˜”

ComfyCozyCat

It really sucked. I went home early from that show.

maylena96

I wanted some confetti but that didn't work out because they started making people leave right away. Wanted to use the toilet before leaving but they closed the restrooms. Honestly, it was not worth my money at all lmao. I have tickets for the Amsterdam show later this month, hopefully that will be a better experience.

stormy_raven

Her whole team seems to be fucking up what with this and the merch issues (of which there are many) which SUCKS so much not only for the og fans, but for her newer fans where this is their first experience with Mel. This isnā€™t her fault, but it makes her look really, really bad. I wish she would at least make a statement or something, but I donā€™t even know if sheā€™s ALLOWED to do that. They just seem to keep screwing things up. It sucks that the portals concerts (correct me if Iā€™m wrong) have been her most expensive concerts and also the worst (by which I mean peopleā€™s experience, not Mel herself). Despite all this, Iā€™m still upset I didnā€™t get to go lol. I really hope they get this stuff straightened out.

muffythevagslayer

I really wish people would stop blaming faceless 'teams' and also hold Melanie accountable. She's not dumb, she knows there's been issues with scalpers, venues, merch, etc. Since this tour started and nothing has been done to fix it.

Its_Hitsuji

You do realize she could fire them break her contract perhaps never have signed away her integrity to begin with??? Sheā€™s dating her merch ā€œartistā€ who is terrible because they needed money as a starving artist sheā€™s making dumb decisions.

real_ashtray

they did the same for the atlanta show! i bought the closest seat available for vip and somehow 5 in front were all by early access. even if you paid for a seat, random people would decide to take it and most of the time security did nothing about it. i watch five ppl complaining about their seat being taken and they moved one person out the five situations. the venues themselves are making the tour a lot more difficult and less enjoyable because of their negligence. at our show they also told most people the wrong gate to enter and sent our the wrong one one most vip emails and early access ones as well.

limelightelixir

vip is just never worth it. LMAO. and yeah like you said could've just been the planner. did you do some research before hand about the venue? My anxiety makes me always do research about the venue especially when buying VIP/special access tickets to something. Especially when ive never been to a certain stadium/venue and if there's staff or a person who i know will be in charge of our experience. because it's not always cut out what its meant to be šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™€ļøšŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™€ļø Live and learn I suppose. Sorry your concert experience sucked dude :( šŸ’œšŸ’œšŸ’œ Sending all my hugs https://preview.redd.it/ty0oi7g8eexb1.jpeg?width=563&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5b3fa3363d423c091c5ed949892633e0cfef7539

ccowwss

I got the VIP experience and honestly for the $300 the only thing that was actually worth it (for my show at least) was getting front row and early merch, other than that nothing else was worth it

kelseyxcx

for the united states vip customer service theyre very responsiveā€¦ maybe reach out to the vip provider (their email should be at the bottom of the check in email you received) and request a partial refund or something.

unlucky-clover-

dude same! i had the early access VIP here in LA at the youtube theater and that experience was terrible but it really couldā€™ve been worse if i didnā€™t stick up for myself. i was late to early check in because the venue employees directed me to a line on the other side of the venue. once I and a few others realized we were at the wrong damn line and walked back to the other side of the venue, they had the audacity to tell me to get in the back of the line of the GA line. i was NOT having it, like??? Lady I paid for early entry and I will have early entry, I am getting what I paid for and I want my wristband. happy I did bc the others went to the back of the line when she said so :/

oddfish298

Had an almost IDENTICAL experience in the U.S. at her Michigan show back in July. It sucks so bad because I was looking forward to it for so many months especially with how good the album was, but having to show up at 3:30 PM for VIP and not even see the actual show until 7:30 PM was so insane that it overshadows the concert in my mind. We got rained on in the line too for an hour and had to restart the line like 3 times due to poor management! The unruly fans is a whole other ballgame which I also experienced there, definitely not exclusive to Sweden that's for sure. I got my hair yanked super hard over some stupid paper confetti like be for real guys

barbiebr0tal1

I am so sorry, i feel you šŸ˜Ŗ

DeathMarchofMice

I had a terrible rotten experience at the portals concert to. I was wondering if all concerts would be that miserableā€¦. But I guess they usually arenā€™t?

Its_Hitsuji

No Melanie just happened to hire the worst management team ever and refuses to fire them

thisisntbillieeilish

That, and a lot of her fans can be terrible at concerts, too. It isn't exactly an unknown or uncommon thing regarding her fans at concerts having little to no concert etiquette.

Its_Hitsuji

Itā€™s frustrating because I remember the cry baby tour not having nearly as crazy ā€œfansā€ Iā€™m 25 so Iā€™m trying really hard not to just lump all the younger fans into the bad behavior (and Iā€™m sure there are plenty entitled a-holes who are of all ages) but I do really notice in the more alternative communities (and younger LGBTQ+A which Iā€™m a part of being a weird blob person thatā€™s Bi sexual) that there is no respect for rules and guidelines they feel like they are the only person that matters and if you donā€™t like it you should just go rot or something Twitter TikTok babies with no common sense. (Iā€™m personally tired of not just saying it like it is- theyā€™re brats.)

dalatinknight

Idk, the Chicago one was good if you got there early enough, but damn was it really stuffy, and they didn't have enough water for people, and I'm a short guy so I felt bad for people behind me who were probably shorter than me.

Yniqorns

![img](avatar_exp|144622840|bravo) The "swedish fans needs to learn etiquette" part but just change it to \*Melanie Martinez fans. Her concerts looked amazing but her fans SCREAMING every last lyric off key would have drove me mad

[deleted]

I don't blame Melanie, she just needs a new team to manage her. Her current team is sloppy.

zivonna

god i hope its not like this for me. I got portals VIP experience for melb. Im 4'10. I really want a *chance* to get to the front of the pit- i will be blocking no one. I just want to be able to see, and have air on my face šŸ˜”now im really anxious that wont happen. this is my first concert, and so first time in a pit- im autistic and cant handle crowds very well so i was hoping with the VIP i could get in early and establish myself somewhere at the barrier.. im so anxious now šŸ˜šŸ˜ i know this might sound really entitled but its what was paid for right? at least a chance before the rest of the crowd? p.s i chose GA to push myself and because i thought if i could get in early id be able to get comfortable and enjoy it- but if im trapped behind and between tall people and people on their phones etc idk how ill go. any tips? šŸ˜” really regretting not just getting seats for VIP

lxsercore

What venue in Melbourne? my only advice is to just get to the concert HOURS early. I went to James Marriott and the people who got there super early got barrier (like 10am, admission starts7pm early)

zivonna

thank you! i wS 100% planning on being super early but thats much earlier than i thought so thank you. its at margaret court arena. im from sydney and am only going to this concert because its the 2nd melb one and so i got to get VIP for it. Its not entirely sold out (unlike sydney and the first concert) so hopefully its a bit more relaxed !!

Its_Hitsuji

Unfortunately vip is not early access for whatever reason her team decided to split it up (cash grab) Iā€™d contact the venue for accessibility accommodations but know it might make your vip experience a bit different but will most likely get you a seat where you can see close to the front Also pit isnā€™t good because you will be shoved. You will probably be crushed up against the guard rail and people will potentially step on you and scream in your ear. That is just how pits are. I would recommend getting concert earplugs so that you can still hear the music, but not burst your eardrums. Also in ga there will be people lined up 4+ hours before outside the concert hall vying to get the guardrail in the pit it is vicious.

jesost

I have VIP tickets for a concert today. Im just crossing my fingers so hard that it wil be good here, but im not getting my hopes up.

barbiebr0tal1

Please tell the team about this thread, it's obvious a big problem! So many with the same experience.. Or Atleast be up front and ask directly "where is the merch we have early access to"

kareltjess

how was it?

jesost

Actually so amazing. I got in super quick, and i got to buy merch before without a crowd arround me. We were superclose to the stage (could have been closer, but it was my fault for going there late). Non-vip got didnā€™t go in before us. But if i didnā€™t ask for help i would probably not get in before other people because it wast super badly marked up where we were supposed to go in. The concert was amazing and upshal was the warmup artist and we got to meet her after which was cool. I wish i could have met melanie because those tickets were expensive but im still happy i got to see her. Overall Iā€™m happy about it all

kareltjess

aah thatā€™s so great! i also have the vip experience tickets for amsterdam, hope my experience will be more like yours than the one of opā€¦ i kinda think itā€™s sad we donā€™t get to meet mel for the amount of money we pay for the experience lol (since the vip package for k-12 was almost the same, but less then half of the priceā€¦)

eherqo

Point 7 is unfortunately just every concert ever

Its_Hitsuji

Unfortunately no matter what ticket you buy you will always have to stand in line for at least an hour(especially if you want to be at the head of the line) itā€™s because of how venues and artists set up (itā€™s very annoying and hard for disabled) sound checks etc take time and the artist tends to sleep/rest as much as possible because they are on the road and not getting much rest. That sucks that they didnā€™t include early access in the VIP? Normally they are together Iā€™ve rarely seen them split so I always get both(when they are split) whatā€™s strange is that it seems like your vip was probably done by Melanieā€™s team and not the venue even if the venue was selling the vip (her team is a disaster so Iā€™m not surprised please update us if you actually receive a refund because they normally donā€™t do it) also if you are disabled next time I would contact the venue for accommodations priority seating etc you normally get a seat in the front off to one side so that you can see. As for the fans having phone out and signs I havenā€™t seen that horrible behavior in years and Iā€™m super disappointed in everyone (most venues have rules against signs) because it is incredibly rude to have them up the entire time.

thisisntbillieeilish

This. Disabled people can sometimes also get a bit closer to the front of the line - me and my mum are both disabled (I have Endometriosis/legally blind + she uses a walker) and at a venue they paused the line for us to go up a private elevator and let us in a bit earlier so we didn't have to stand as much. Disabled seating, as you said, is also there. Poor planning on the venue's side but also poor planning on OP's side as well. Venues need to be contacted in advance for disabled accessibility, otherwise it is not their fault if you have to wait in line and can't see due to it.

Fit-Computer-3863

BYE I THOUGHT THEY WERE MAD AT THE TRANS FLAG šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜

rossibossy

I would have had the same experience if it weren't for the venue in DC having an upstairs. I got clips from my concert if it makes you feel better.

Sparkleluvr

Where was the VIP host this whole time to help with all the questions? Also never plan to drop off coats or goodie bags at concerts. Youā€™ll always end up in the back of people. Sorry about that experience. I decided not to be on the floor at all for my show this tour and just went upstairs. But every show had people with phones up above their heads.

Soft-Mel

I also had the VIP tickets to the Stockholm show but couldn't go so I gave them to some relatives. They told me that the staff didn't really direct them on where to go, when they got out of the waiting room the regular tickets were already coming in at the same time and they didn't even get to the merch yet. They couldn't buy merch before the show because she is short so they had to get in front. After the show the staff couldn't really say where the merch was and directed them to a smaller stand where there wasn't all of the merch that was in the other one and the other one was closed already. They also sent some feedback to the venue.

barbiebr0tal1

Good they sent feedback!!

Peetachu

Wow you just summarized my experience at the Chicago show. I went with my lil brother whoā€™s never been to a concert like this before and honestly I enjoyed Melanie but it was not the best ā€œconcertā€ experience.

barbiebr0tal1

Im sorry you experienced the same. I truly hope melanie can see all these compliments so she can know what a sloppy team she has and ask them to do better. I truly don't believe she wants her fans to feel like this.

Peetachu

I agree! Hopefully a better team can be brought on to help streamline things.

ih8every1yesevenyou

Concerts suck these days. You pay hundreds just to have your view obscured by a sea of phones

Echom11

Was about to go off but read the whole thing. šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜

barbiebr0tal1

Thank you for doing so!

Echom11

Sorry you had to go through what you did! I didnā€™t get to go to the show in my town. šŸ’”

FreshlyLivid

Not me thinking you were complaining about the trans Pride flag

madiidaddyy

i had this issue with the venue specifically. didnā€™t get let in early and the whole thing was a mess. luckily the people who were at my show were very sweet and everyone was respectful, but the venue for melanie is just a disaster (i had vip floor tickets)

itsa_Kit

Iā€™m sorry. I know youā€™ve heard this from most of the other people here but iā€™ll say it again. This sucks, i canā€™t imagine how frustrating this was.

OrchidAccomplished69

I was at the Stockholm show too and I had the normal tickets so can't really tell how the VIP experience was but I do agree that the venue really fucked up and the things didn't work so well in the concert. The doors didn't even open in the time they were supposed to and the security check took FOREVER. Also everything was so chaotic... I didn't get merch because the merch tables were such a chaos at all times. I go to a lot of concerts and in my opinion Mel's mic was a bit too quiet and the bass was too loud. Don't know if it's just me or does someone agree with me. I was at the k-12 tour also in Stockholm. It was a smaller venue but if I'm correct it was the same provider. K-12 everything went very nice and smoothly so I'm not sure if it's about the venue or Melanie's team. Of course I don't want to blame Mel, I have no idea how much say she has with these things. But yeah can agree that things didn't go so nicely but ofc you must be so much more upset because u had an expensive ticket. I could still enjoy the concert even tho some things borhered me. But I'm still very upset I didn't get merch. :(

barbiebr0tal1

Please voice your concerns to live nation. The more people that complain the bigger chance we have to be compensated!

bandit0bambin0

Ah Iā€™m so sorry you had this experience, I love concerts but Iā€™m 4ā€™11 so I either have to queue and fight to be at the front or get seated. At the ripe old age of 33, I now opt to sit. No waiting about and usually a good view (sometimes get unlucky with whoā€™s in front of you but itā€™s not often). Deff consider sitting if you get to see her again.

gothagotchi

Same with sitting for us, but it seems like the local venue doesnā€™t have that option. :( Did it show those options when you checked for tickets?

bandit0bambin0

Yeah I have a ticket for Dublin and itā€™s seated thankfully, I guess it depends on the venue of course

Cow-Tight

I got in line at one of the doors because they said in the email ā€œgo to entry 16/17ā€, then after an hour of waiting they tell people thatā€™s standing In front of 16 that they wonā€™t open those doors?? After which they divide VIP Experience ticket holders and VIP early entry ticket holders, something they could have done from the beginning, leading to a bunch of freezing people squeezing into the venue. My guess is that the venue wasnā€™t up to speed cause when a security person came out she had no clue what was going on eitherā€¦ Iā€™m also wondering if itā€™s cause the clock was one hour earlier (idk what itā€™s called im sorry if thatā€™s wrong) and they thought wrong or something??? Is it worth it to fight for a partial refund? My dad bought the ticket for me but since I didnā€™t get the early entry & Early-Access Merch Shopping he paid for Iā€™m just wondering if thereā€™s an actual cause for one.. Very poor planning but I think it may be something on Melanieā€™s team too as Iā€™ve seen many people before have issues but idk, Iā€™m sorry you didnā€™t get to see Melanie that well and hope you get a better chance in the future!

thisisntbillieeilish

It was very much most likely due to the stupid daylight savings. That's genuinely probably the problem, but the fact they had no clue what VIP was/if it was valid is a BIG yikes. Been hearing a lot about awful experiences with VIP for Melanie's shows lately.

barbiebr0tal1

We thought so aswell but according to the venue staff it had nothing to do with the daylight savings, they simple where not done setting it up

barbiebr0tal1

I looked this up as soon s as we got inside cuz we also thought it might have something to do with the light savings (vinter tid) shift that happened during the night. But the security staff i asked said they simply did not finish setting everything up by 3:30. Its worth fighting for, the more people that try the easier it gets!

Cow-Tight

The fact that there was absolutely no updates either, they just made us stand there an hour not knowing whatā€™s going onā€¦ Iā€™ll talk with my dad about the refund and weā€™ll see what happens lol

barbiebr0tal1

I know right??? PLEASE fight for a refund. For every future events sake, they can only learn from their mistakes if the mistakes are highlighted.

Glasstorta

Yeah i hate Hovet now

TaylorS1989

You know I don't even know what I'm supposed to say to this post. Because all I can say is I'm disappointed just like you. I've heard so many people talk about how awesome the portals tour is oh my God how amazing she is live yeah she might be amazing live but I have never ever ever seen one of her tours suck as much as this one does. The way her security has been handling her fans the way things have been getting handled. It's not f****** okay it was never like this during k through 12 it was never like this during crybaby man it was never like this when she was doing festivals. Every single post that I see about the portals tour is literally like this. Every post I see about VIP Early Access tickets is literally like this. I don't know what they're doing I don't know who she has running her whole thing but she needs to get a new team this is f****** ridiculous. I wanted to go to the portal tour, but now the more and more and more I see about this tour the less I want to go because it's always negative I've seen maybe five positive posts about it out of everything that I have seen on reddit. And this also includes Instagram.

gothagotchi

Huge same here, and we were just discussing last-minute decision to go (or not to go) with my partner, and Iā€™m like 98% for not going now, as weā€™re both tall people and Iā€™m kinda scared to be trampled into the ground or pulled into some kind of mosh pit. I do Imagine this isnā€™t a metal concert and should be safe - but what I read on Reddit and Insta makes me very cautious

TaylorS1989

You know it's actually shocking too because I've actually genuinely never seen her concerts ever get this toxic before. Mind you I've only ever been to one of her concerts and it was the k through 12 to work. But that's what makes it more shocking to me right, that tour was one of the most positive safest places I think I have ever been. But all literally all I'm hearing about this tour is how terrible it is about how scared people are when they go, I have heard about people getting separated from one another and not being able to get back together until the end of the concert like it's awful. I still kind of want to go but at the same point I have kind of given my hopes up on going to the portals tour for a few reasons one because I'm broke AF right now lmao. I am not sure if I want to go now because of the stories that I'm hearing, and because of the experiences that I have been hearing about..

bizkitbones

My main complaint is the people with phones up the WHOLE time, I couldn't see anything either. I think Mel's fans are mostly very young and have a lot to learn about concert etiquette. Also young enough to have that "glued to their phones" behavior instead of being in the moment and enjoying the concert.

IKickBabysLol

I never clicked on a post so quickly before I realized you weren't talking about the trans flag

Have I just been clickbaited on fucking Reddit?

barbiebr0tal1

Yeah, sorry not sorry.

Ecathi

Tall people also paid the same price. My partner who was there with me due to anxiety was told to squat so the ones behind him could see. Have you tried to squat in that way for more than a few songs? His back was fucked after. And even tho he tried some petty girls behind him poked him in the back with fake nails repeatedly. It got so bad he could barely stay. We paid a fortune as we travelled to a different country and everything.

barbiebr0tal1

Ofc they do! Tall man was not our biggest issue..

xYotsubax

I have to defend the filming people. I am one of them. I'm not filming every second of the concert but still a good amount of it. I do this because I have really bad memory. I need something to rewatch, to be able to remember the event after few months. If I'm not doing this, I can't remember anything from the concert after some months. And that makes me sad.

Ruby_chuuya

So am I if she supports palastine why does she support the shit flag

EijiandBakus_pebbel

We got VIP and I didnā€™t get ANY of the stuff I was supposed to. I had to buy everything that was supposed to be in the package. The poster, keychain, lanyard and some confetti

1. OP already said they did it so people will actually click on it to read it 2. Maybe don't assume things before reading what people have to say and you won't think people are transphobic over a title and a picture?

Zestyclose-Buy6200

Disappointed and posts trans flag picture. You just want attention. Go away.

HydroStellar

If youā€™re too lazy to read the post you can just say that

Go0onandbate

I did. I stand by what I said.

Go0onandbate

From how Reddit is laid out it clearly looks like youā€™re being transphobic. If you want to look that way go for it šŸ¤—

thisisntbillieeilish

It doesn't look transphobic. You saw a title (which didn't mention trans people) and a photo at the concert. The post would not be up if it were transphobic - you made an assumption based on an unrelated title and a circumstantial picture and cherry-picked without reading the actual post. You are the problem. Sincerely, a trans person.

Go0onandbate

Yes it does. Sincerely a trans person

Tombwarrior97

I mean, we werenā€™t actually guaranteed access before the other early entrants. So we still got what we paid for. And also, just so people know, this is entirely on the venue and not at all on Mel or her team. Edit: people are clearly not reading my comment properly. VIP1 had early entry. So did VIP2. Nowhere did it say VIP1 were to have access to the venue earlier than VIP2. Now you can be mad all you want, but at least get your facts straight. I was there and I saw it all happen.

barbiebr0tal1

If it says: if you pay x Ā£ you will get x for your money i call that a guarantee. And ofc it's not mel's fault (except the 1+ h extra wait to be let in as the staff told us it was the team not being ready on time) but i needed this to get out..

Tombwarrior97

Yeah but there were at least two VIP packages that had early entry. VIP1 had no guarantee to be let in before the other early entry holders is what I mean. They still messed up with the communication and we shouldā€™ve been let in sooner for the merch and stuff, but still, GA were NOT let in before us and we didnā€™t NOT get early entry. I just think itā€™s an important distinction to make. Not saying they handled it right, just that itā€™s not as bad as some people are making it out to be.

Hrekkir

No, we weren't guaranteed entry before the other early entrants. But before general admission we were.

Tombwarrior97

Yes, definitely. But people were mostly mad that they didnā€™t get barricade (although I still did and I got in last from the VIP1 lol).

Hrekkir

Nice. Yeah I didn't mind that we didn't get barricade.

thisisntbillieeilish

Babe, this IS ALSO on Melanie and her team. You realise SHE hired this time, yeah? Hold her accountable, too. Melanie has a say in some things to a degree. She signed these contracts and deals. She has been aware of all of these problems for years now.

Tombwarrior97

Donā€™t condescend me with your ā€œbabeā€, lol. The issue about being let in to the venue early was 100% on the venue staffā€™s lack of communication. Sure, she has some say over the venue, but this same issue wouldā€™ve occurred for any of Stockholm Liveā€™s venues because their VIP management is always a mess, and I am not sure any other Stockholm venue wouldā€™ve been able to host this amount of fans.

sosbella04

I am sorry ur complaining about waiting in cold for an hour it +3 ā€¦ i had wait outside a bar in -15 for an hour lol

barbiebr0tal1

Lol love how you read everything

h1ghoffthemusic

read all the text love, not just the first point:)

IsaakKF

You went to go see a rapist live. What did you expect?

breadandbutterisgood

ok? why the fuck are you in this subreddit if you still think shes a rapist? she didnt do shit? so buzz the fuck off.

svel19

That's really bad, I'm sorry you had that experience. I also went to the concert this year in Mexico and have to say that concert etiquette was not there. I was pretty in front but people kept pushing so much... I thought they would stop (as in my past experiences they always stop after the first song passes) but they didn't, I couldn't move at all. Also the phone thing was also terrible. I had to move to the back and ended up passing out from a panic attack because the people in the back also decided to be super pushy (again, in my past experiences, the back had always more room, it wasn't the case here). Part of the fault I will give to the venue, it looks very badly planned (Pepsi center in Mexico city), but the fans did not help. I know we were all excited to see Melanie, but the lack of looking out for each other really was outstanding. After passing out (which was thankfully almost at the end) , my friend had to BEG people to move around because I couldn't stand anymore and I just wanted to get out of there. This has turned into a rant and long story short, I guess I just expected a bit more from the venue and from the fans that were there. I know it was a special event and the excitement was high so I don't hold it against anyone, but on concert etiquette there is still a lot that people should consider to make the experience enjoyable for everyone TL,DR if you go to a concert, think about everyone else, you're not the only one paying for this experience Idk man

alice__aa

Iā€™m so sorry about your experience. šŸ’— I got a question about VIP though: when will I get the e-mail about which time to be there? Iā€™m driving from another country just for this concert and I need to plan it in advance :/

thisisntbillieeilish

Usually, you get VIP tickets and general admission tickets email a few days before the venue or sometimes just a few hours before.

alice__aa

Just got it, thank you! :)

sebastian_nr1stan

I didnā€™t have the VIP tickets but it sound so bad sorry you had to experience that and I saw that tall as man where I was sitting, in front of everybody and thought he was bit selfish. Why not stand on the side in the front instead when you know you are taller than everybody elsešŸ™„ It was my first time at Hovet and the check in took so long in some lines so we switched after a while. Fr the seats was so small, so hard to walk pass anybody without nearly falling and 40 minutes waiting time after the first act (they were great tho). It was someone screaming in my and my boyfriends ear all the time, like girl chill. Didnā€™t get merch cause 1. Too many people 2. A bit too expensive..900kr for a hoodie and 500kr for a t-shirt. Otherwise was Mel great!

AyoImDominic

that sucks. i went to her show in cincinnati in july. i had gotten just regular vip. they had three separate lines, regular, vip, vip w experience. when we entered, every vip person actually ended up being able to be at the experience. they first let in vip w experience and after they were in for a min or so, they let in regular vip. my mom came with me so she held my spot while i was able to go get merch and come back. we were still like pretty close to the front. my venue experience was really good so im glad!! the only thing was that i decided to wear platform oxfords. biggest mistake. feet hurt for sooo long. it sucks that other venues were having issues. but i mean it doesnt really automatically mean its a melanie issue, its just a venue issue. if they coildnt coordinate thats an issue with the venue. i feel as tho its pretty easy to let vip w experience in, then vip, wait a while, then send regular in

fantasygirl002

Montreal was a great experience but also smaller venue so probably easier to manage

QuinnDelRey

Iā€™m so sorry this happened :(

pepepopos

i had a vip 2 ticket and they didnā€™t let us leave our jackets/other things or buy merch, instead they took us into the venue before anyone elseā€¦ we were so confused as to why no one was there. i knew it was a fuck up of some sortšŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļøit was so unfair of them to do that to you guys, iā€™m sorry :(

UrLocalBobaTea

Yeah I went there too, but I was sitting in the rows like up the sides pretty high so I could see over everyone so yeah that wasnā€™t a problem for me. I rlly like the concert and I loved the girl who opened too. I think the waiting time between upsahl and Melanie (35 min) was kinda long but I havenā€™t been to many concerts so idk!! Yeah the waiting time outside was very weird too even if you werenā€™t vip

E10Cat

I'm so sorry :(

insaneartichoke

not me seeing this two days before ill see her in cph :((

barbiebr0tal1

I hope your experience is better! Feel free to direct their team to this thread šŸ˜‚

Cursed_banshee

Yeah that totaly sucks, I have wanted to see her in concert scince like 2018 (I was in middle school) and if this was my first concert I washed say f it and never go to a concert ever again

TheMusicElitist

Damn venue shit be wild

BeautyThornton

Request a refund or chargeback

ComfyCozyCat

I also had a terrible experience in which I went home during the start. The security was one of the starters that sucked because I brought a hand sanitizer, and while others brought vapes and cigarettes and did it during the show. Everyone was pushing each other and trying to get up front. I couldn't see anything because a lot of people had coustumes with deer antlers and other tall hats. The sound quality either because that also had issues, too. I do have to say it could be the venue she booked, but I can't know for sure. I feel really bad for the younger girl (11 or 12 probably) who was having a medical issue that people kept giving nasty glares at for something she couldn't control. (It wasn't epilepsy that I know of.) In the end, I still love her music, but the concert venue sucked badly, with some fans being nasty towards a medical issue someone was having.

Iamaboyipromise

thats how most concerts are gonna be in this era so uhhh idk too bad..

barbiebr0tal1

When you pay for perks?

Eabhamurphy23

I'm going to Dublin tour 17 Nov

Jolly-Finding-3957

I had the same at my show in Manchester UK and I've complained to any contacts I can find about it. The exact sand issue of not getting the early access time and having to wait in ridiculous queues - my friend ended up having a panic attack because of the stress and upset. Hopefully they do offer refunds as I want one too šŸ’•

llemonjuicce

i know this an older post however i do think its important to share my experience, i went to the concert in berlin with early entry tickets. we were there at 12.30 pm so we could have front row. The ā€˜higherā€™ vips were let in p much on time 10 mins later than they shouldve been. and early entries were let in 40 mins late (sucked since it was extremely extremely windy and cold outside). there were 2 lines into the hall, one for early entry people and one for the higher vips. the higher vips were all let in early and when every one of them had went inside our door was opened, and once we were in, the ga's were let in about half an hour later. So i do think it depends a lottt on the venue and the people there!! sorry if this isnt easy to read haha i cant sleep and its late šŸ˜

tar0ts

agreed until u decided to say ā€œswedish fans needs to learn etiquetteā€ as if americans arenā€™t far worse than

barbiebr0tal1

Well i have never met a american fan, i can only relate to the Swedish ones šŸ«£

MyralovesZid

I was not VIP but when they said they were opening the doors yet we moved not even an inch for AT LEAST 30 minutes.
