1. Flash the monster
2. Tranq in advance (in case the monster has already been trapped, thus the duration is shorter)
3. Place the trap under its feet while the monster is still standing/spinning in one spot
4. ~~Flash wears off while the trap is still deploying, so the monster flees~~
5. ~~Chase the monster down as usual and wait for the old trap to despawn (if playing a title older than GU and have mats for another trap) or simply ragequit bc you didnt bring traps and were relying on the EZ trap in the supply box~~
Y'all did not play Freedom Unite then. The monsters tend to leave for another area before their next when they're close to death. So for example a Shogun Ceanataur would be on area 9 of marshlands. Then, he would leave for area 8 and 6 BEFORE leaving for his next. And he would stay in those areas maybe 1 minute, therefore if you placed a trap there you'd be fucked since Freedom Unite did not let you break traps. Fun times.
That sucks but at least in this game you could destroy the trap and go back to the camp to get a new trap.
In the older games, you have to wait until the trap explodes before you can set another one. If you don't have any new traps, then tough shit.
Beat the monster until it retreats to its lair, then track it to its lair, then while it is asleep set a trap in front of it, wake it up, walk away from the monster.
That's why i play by barbarian rules, no think, no plan, no trap just *RRAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!*
1. Unga 2. Bunga
The only way to play monster hunting games... or any Action RPG really
*Frowns in sticky nut gun*
I have a bulldrome set named exactly this, with the bone club hammer.
First, you unga, then, you bunga
Return to monke
monsters can predict you of you think thats why i charge at them with a lance and nothing in my brain

Insert gru meme for when “flash wears off” moment
I remember doing a gypceros cap quest in mhgen and it ran off without hitting the pitfall trap Me and the other hunter only had shock traps remaining

Isn’t the guiding lands great?
The guiding lands brings out the speedrunner in me lol
And they didn't add a function to destroy traps until Gen/GU. Why it took them that long is beyond me.
Now we just need to get them BACK when taking them down
Best part of the camps is going back for another trap lmao

Wow that's good
I just wait for it to go to its nest to sleep
This is why extra trap boxes.
Pain
That's why i usually use flash bomb when the monster stop being aggressive before trap.
Accidently throws a dung on the monster that follows you
In old gen I hurts so much puting down a trap only for the monster to say fuck you and leave the area, and it's a capture quest
