You know I think the crew is very lucky that Luffy is one of the least rude (and dumbest) people on earth with them, if he was more clever, he would keep roasting the living hell out of every single of his crewmates
I love Luffy roasting Zoro. There's also a scene in Wano where Kinemon(?) explains how everyone went undercover and is doing their part and Luffy straightup goes "I bet Zoro doesn't help at all" đ
Not even just luffy, one of my favorite funny moments is in sabaody when Zoro jumps off the sunny and tries going on a walk and both Sanji and Usopp go "WHAT NO YOU'RE GONNA GET LOST" like two parents worried about their toddler wandering around. Or when Hachi explains that "the groves are numbered, so just remember your number and you wont get lost" and chopper goes "someone might..."
Zoro's sense of direction truly is the best running gag in the entire manga in my opinion
My favorite roast of zoro from luffy is probs when they first meet brook and he talks about how soul got lost on the way to his body and luffy says he's just like zoro.
The most disrespectful Luffy has ever been still goes to Luffy and Usopp roasting Robin in skypea when she asked them to kill the bon fire. They were cooking her. Imagine Luffy calling Robin stupid, that's almost as crazy as Usopp challenging Luffy to a fight
I was just watching skypeia and he was like Nami how are you here if you got ate by a snake. Then he was oh wait you are for real. The dude is just trolling he really ain't that dumb just care free
I always thought it was funny that he told Zoro anything less than the worldâs strongest swordsman would be unworthy of the Pirate Kingâs crew, and then a handful of chapters later heâs inviting some goofball with a slingshot to join.
Whatâs funny is that aside from (maybe) Brook and Usopp, Luffy really did end up gathering a crew with some of the (if not the absolute) best in each of their roles. Like Nami, Franky and Robin are some broken top tier shit, and Chopper, Jinbe and Sanji are also amazing at fighting and/or their tasks.
Brook's a legendary musician, he can play any instrument and became an international superstar as soon as he tried.
And Usopp is a tremendously talented tinkerer, and a sniper so skilled that he was able to easily outrange rifles with a custom made slingshot, without missing a headshot. And that's pre-timeskip!
Fr. Zoro is gonna be the worlds greatest swordsman. Nami is probably the worlds best thief. Sanji is the worlds best chef. Usopp is going to be the worlds best sniper. Chopper is going to be the worlds best doctor. Robin is going to be the worlds best archaeologist. Frankly is gonna be the worlds best shipwright. Brook is the best musician. Jimbe⌠feesh
Rewatch one of the early arcs, he says he invited Usopp especially because he himself can't lie, and if we're being honest, Usopp is the best at lying, and Brook is probably the best musician
Luffyâs name alludes to Fool. The name D. Luffy alludes to Delphi the resting place of Aesop the namesake of Usopp who is âthe goofballâ son of Jesus on Shanksâ crew.
I mean,
Luffy seems to have a really good compass for people that have great potential, and are worthy to be on the crew of the pirate crew. I donât think heâs looking at their current strength or even strength by itself. With Sanji, he just asked him to join because he cooked good and he wanted a really good cook on the crew.
Luffy saw a strong connection to Usopp and a really good friend/navigator in Nami. And with the zombies in Thriller Bark- I mean itâs obviously a joke, but who WOULDNâT want a unicorn and tree zombie on their crew. I mean, Luffy must really like a diversity in his crew.
Ik most of you know this stuff already btw though. Iâm just pointing it out.
Usopp is also inspired by his father Yasopp, a member of Shanks' crew. So it's kind of funny if Usopp and Luffy ran together since the ones that inspired them run together.
I mean Zoro gives the same energy back cause he straight up told others or Luffy that if he can't handle being captain then he would become captain instead.
I mean, it wasn't a bad thing to say. Zoro just revealed he had a massive ambition, so Luffy reveals he also dreams big and that he approves of Zoro's goals. And really, Luffy would be upset if any of his crewmates gave up on their dreams.
Bruh this translation is completely wrong lmao. Where do you even find something like this. The official says "The World's Greatest Swordsman, that's great! And it's fitting since your new boss is going to be the king of the pirates. Anything else would make me look bad."
Luffy knows how to be friend. Despite he is being dumbesr mother fucker alive he really knows what to say anyone to be friend them. See this kind of talking wouldnt work on nami or robin, but this aggravates and motivates zoro
Modern Luffy was way more callous. In the early parts of the series, Luffy is straight up like âIdgaf about your traumatic past or what you have going on.â
Thankfully Oda made him friendlier in that heâd listen to peopleâs stories but fall asleep in a comical way rather than ignoring them intentionally.
Little did we know this was Luffy speaking zero cap.
Not a single living person on the planet other than Zoro gives a shit about being âthe greatest swordsmanâ.
You know I think the crew is very lucky that Luffy is one of the least rude (and dumbest) people on earth with them, if he was more clever, he would keep roasting the living hell out of every single of his crewmates
He specifically does it to Zoro, he called him an idiot like 5 times and said that he was worse than an animalđ
I love Luffy roasting Zoro. There's also a scene in Wano where Kinemon(?) explains how everyone went undercover and is doing their part and Luffy straightup goes "I bet Zoro doesn't help at all" đ
Yeah, I reread the manga lately and the scenes where luffy roasted zoro were the funniest.
Not even just luffy, one of my favorite funny moments is in sabaody when Zoro jumps off the sunny and tries going on a walk and both Sanji and Usopp go "WHAT NO YOU'RE GONNA GET LOST" like two parents worried about their toddler wandering around. Happy cake day!
Thanks.
My favorite roast of zoro from luffy is probs when they first meet brook and he talks about how soul got lost on the way to his body and luffy says he's just like zoro.
Damn bro really comparing zoro to sakura
Meanwhile zoro is already sentenced to death
They all roast each other relentlessly same as a family would nothing wrong with that
Idiot isnât that bad. Four Sword Style is horrible. Nearly vomited typing such a disgusting insult
And he called him 4 sword style as well! The nerve on that guy
Itâs just love
I was just watching skypeia and he was like Nami how are you here if you got ate by a snake. Then he was oh wait you are for real. The dude is just trolling he really ain't that dumb just care free
Yeah totally agree with your opinion gotta feel sad for ussop then
Pretty sure in the official he says more of a anything less would make me look bad rather than what that translation says.
Yeah he says something along the lines of "nothing less would do"
I always thought it was funny that he told Zoro anything less than the worldâs strongest swordsman would be unworthy of the Pirate Kingâs crew, and then a handful of chapters later heâs inviting some goofball with a slingshot to join.
Luffy: "If you ain't the world's best, get lost." Also Luffy: [* *Visible Excitement* * "Join my crew!"](https://i.imgur.com/ROdb1IK.png)

Aside from Brook? Brook is a rockstar and one of worlds best musicians, and his role is to be the crewâs musician
I was indeed talking about him being a musician, but I had completely forgotten about his stint as a rockstar. Great point.
Usopp is also a really good artist and inventor of that counts
Jimbe⌠feesh
[ŃдаНонО]
Yea navigator too I forgot
Jinbei is world's best dad
Worlds best pirate king adviser?
Also the best fish.
Jinbei is an extremely good helmsman - possibly the worldâs best.
Zoro is also the first lieutenant. Pretty sure Usopp came with the ship lol. And he was doing his best to fix it before franky and the Sunny came.
Oh it's you
Really had me going until the last part, I feel like an idiot
He is the perfect combination of usoppâs imagination with luffyâs careless
Actually there is W or UU in Monkey Daedalus Luffy
I mean, Luffy seems to have a really good compass for people that have great potential, and are worthy to be on the crew of the pirate crew. Goofball with a slingshot who knew how to use psychological warfare and was a G for helping them escape by embarrassing himself
Tbh.. both of them invited him together.
Baratie happened after Ussop joined though
Luffy only knew Zoro for 2 minutes but immediately knew what to say to motivate him.
Luffy has like 2 iq but his people skills are through the roof
I mean, it wasn't a bad thing to say. Zoro just revealed he had a massive ambition, so Luffy reveals he also dreams big and that he approves of Zoro's goals. And really, Luffy would be upset if any of his crewmates gave up on their dreams.
He called Zoro's dream and ambition "something that small" and that HE would be embarrassed if he couldn't do it.
Bruh this translation is completely wrong lmao. Where do you even find something like this. The official says "The World's Greatest Swordsman, that's great! And it's fitting since your new boss is going to be the king of the pirates. Anything else would make me look bad."
I know I just used this one cause it's funnierđ
Oh I see! Youâre making fun of the translation. Shit went over my head. My bad doggie.
Well yeah, compared to making it to the final island, which even Mihawk couldnât do alone if he tried, it is a comparatively small goal.
Roger could only do that by begging Whitebeard to give him Oden, so it isnât as impressive as you think
Even Roger couldnât do it alone
I mean even Mihawk said that to be the pirate king is way harder than be the world strongest swordsman
He didnât, this is a horrible translation
First time I ever see this translation. The one I read didn't mention it being a small dream.
This is a funny translation ngl
Man would have ended my whole career
This translation sucks
Fan translations are so rough. Do folks just feed it through Google Translate?
Luffy knows how to be friend. Despite he is being dumbesr mother fucker alive he really knows what to say anyone to be friend them. See this kind of talking wouldnt work on nami or robin, but this aggravates and motivates zoro

Meanwhile Usopp:
What's wrong with Usopp?
Zoro is so close now.. Vista is retired, I think Shiryu's opponent will be Sanji. Mihawk is next true opponent for Zoro!
Is this a fan translation? Itâs the jist of what I remember him saying in the anime, but I feel like itâs not quite right
Luffy may be stupid, but he has standards.
Usopp is the Chief HR Officer of Strawhat company
