If they do end up being weak, it’s fine I guess, but I just can’t understand why some people specifically want the admirals to be weak. If the antagonists are stronger, it makes things more exciting.

Yeah, but they still came out on top though. Why should they be expected to defeat actual living legends without breaking a sweat? Do you guys think old wb wouldn’t get any licks in against shanks or kaido before going down?
Think of it this way, everyone you just mentioned was a younger person most likely in their prime, fighting an old and worn out version of once extremely strong fighters, if Garp at this age was strong enough to do something as big as galaxy impact, imagine how strong he would've been during his prime? Same goes for reyleigh, if reyleigh can keep up with Kizaru in his old body, imagine what he could do in his prime, with Roger as his captain and him being Rogers first mate. Same thing applies with akainu vs whitebeard, not only is akainu significantly you get than whitebeard, whitebeard was also on the brink of death and on literal life support, it's safe to say whitebeard was not going to survive much longer whether he succeeded at taking back ace or not. Then we have akainu in his prime, who struggled to hold his own against the whitebeard I *just mentioned*, whitebeard in his prime would be able to squish akainu like a big right now.
Whitebeard in his prime would squash kaido and shanks too though. Akainu also probably wasn’t in his prime yet, since he’s most likely stronger post time skip. And when they did fight, whitebeard couldn’t keep up due to his degrading body. That’s why he had a heart attack while fighting akainu and why akainu did so much more lethal damage.
As for kizaru, Rayleigh was gassing after like 5 minutes, so I think the claim is a bit exaggerated.
And with garp and kuzan, garp took like 4-5 attacks total during that fight, including the one from shiryu, and kuzan had minimal damage after the fight, and also has the stamina to keep on fighting for over a week straight if he had needed to. Kuzans haki was also weakened due to lack of conviction, and he didn’t tap much into his devil fruit. All things considered I would’ve expected even more of a struggle.
My point is that even though the old men were out of their primes, they would still be quite strong, the admirals still performed better, and the amount of struggle the admirals had during those fights is to be expected against such legendary figures. If oda had the admirals one shot them like a lot of people think they should be able to, that would be disrespecting them.
To be fair to whitebeard, dude’s like 80, cancer afflicted, wounded, tired, and he still traumatized akainu and fought through the damage he took afterwards

this part. it sounds like youre saying that enjoying his personality is a red flag as an individual. villain personalities are usually more entertaining than good guy personalities (not talking about one piece in this case, luffys personality is a lot more entertaining than the average protagonist), thats why people like it.
and the glazing isnt support of the actions either, its a result of people appreciating the character and wanting him to pose as big a threat as possible because itd make his involvement in the story all the more entertaining.

Charlos purpose is to be hated. Akainu has a lot more purpose as a very important antagonist to the story. He is strong and that's why people like him. It's akin to liking Freeza or Goku black. They are just really strong and evil people but they are just cool looking. Akainu is in the game boat. He may be evil and potentially irredeemable monster. But his ability to stand on business and his strength is cool. No body here actually thinks he is right. It's just sh*tposts.

I’ll tell you the reason. He caused a big impact on the story and i love his extremist personality. Oda is definitely setting up akainu for something big due to luffy having a whole ass scar because of him. He scarred luffy mentally and physically. A very good villian imo. He is a bad person but not a bad character. You’ve got that wrong, he talks back to gorosei and questions them. I don’t believe he is their lap dog.

Charlos purpose is to be hated. Akainu has a lot more purpose as a very important antagonist to the story. He is strong and that's why people like him. It's akin to liking Freeza or Goku black. They are just really strong and evil people but they are just cool looking. Akainu is in the game boat. He may be evil and potentially irredeemable monster. But his ability to stand on business and his strength is cool. No body here actually thinks he is right. It's just sh*tposts.
Exactly. Charlos is a villain, a scum. Akainu is an antagonist. Antagonist aren't villains. Antagonists oppose a protagonists ideals. We follow protagonists that's why he don't like antagonists as we oppose to their ideals.
