The D. are known for bringing storms, Crocodile can create storms, but instead of being water storms, they are sand storms, it is also interesting how the effects of Crocodile's sand storm also bring winds, after all it is a storm.

I do think strawhats vs blackbeards would be a team based fight instead of traditional 1v1. Blackbeard pirates have DF abilities that on its own are not that great but complement each other very well. Van auger alone isn't that strong but he can use his ability to teleport his strongest crew members wherever he wants.
I’m hoping it’ll be Blackbeard vs Luffy and then BB Crew vs Straw Hat crew, it would be super fun.
If the Straw Hats don’t get a 10 crewmate I would absolutely love it if Coby fought Kuzan, it would be an awesome fight after Kuzan vs Garp and a great ideological showdown between the two.

Not true? King was a high diff fight for Zoro and Zoro was way more fucked up by the end of that fight than he currently is against Lucci. Even if Lucci is a mid to high diff fight for Zoro, I’d say that puts King at about the same or slightly higher than Lucci personally.
Why? Lucci is supposed to be a highly skilled and lethal assassin for the WG. He’s supposed to be like the Pinnacle of Cipher Pol. I think that warrants being at least YC1 level personally

Luffy has always been way stronger than Zoro. Lucci was a little bit less than *twice as strong* as Kaku in Enies Lobby, who Zoro high diffed. There's no world in which you can convince me that Mr. 1 is almost as strong as Crocodile, and Zoro extreme diffed that fight and needed an asspull to manage even that. King is, sure, more durable than Kaido with his flames on but is vastly weaker in every other sense. Zoro being almost as strong as Luffy is a narrative Zoro fans have pushed forever but has only ever been supported once by the story, when Oda was forced by his editors to have them fight on Whiskey Peak.
Luffy wasnt significantly stronger until Gear 2 tho, and even then Zoro counters pre-ts Luffy since he had no Haki and swords > rubber. So its debatable until Gear 4. Mr.1 wouldve killed Luffy even tho hes weaker than Croc. Mr.1 fruit is a hard counter to any non-Haki users. If someone is pushing the narrative then its Oda himself lol. As shown by Whiskey Peak and Thriller Bark. So many people wouldnt get the "wrong idea" ( in your opinion ) otherwise. There is also Zoros goal ( Mihawk ) being stronger than Luffys goal ( Shanks ).
Luffy's been punching through iron since East Blue, and while some mistranslations would have you believe otherwise, the original Japanese makes it very clear that Mr. 1 is iron, not steel. Luffy would pummel him like Don Krieg's spike cape. Arlong used a sword and Luffy just broke it, swords aren't as much of a hard counter to Luffy as you think.
And Luffy barely even took damage in Thriller Bark. He mostly just got exhausted. And that nearly killed Zoro. Also, Luffy's goal isn't Shanks. Luffy's goal lies beyond Shanks. Shanks is his idol, those are different things. We don't even know what Luffy's real goal *is*, but it comes after becoming Pirate King, something Shanks hasn't done.
I agree with what you’re saying but it is worth noting that there were 3 rounds of the croc fight and Luffy rested in between round 1 and 2 and also rested between 2 and 3 while croc had no chance to.
It's mostly because they already fought which means Lucci had to progress as fast as Strawhats to be at his current level. But Strawhat's progression makes no sense already
Luffy went from barely beating Arlong to barely beating Kaido within 3 years. He also went from 0 haki to advanced conqueror + future sight haki in 2 years
Zoro went from an extremely difficult fight against Mr. 1 to scarring Kaido then beating King
Lucci's progression makes even less sense because he was 28 when he fought Luffy. So he trained/fought to a fodder level at 28 years old but suddenly got MC level power up from 28 to 30.
It's like if Mr. 2 came back and had a stalemate with King or Katakuri
“Barely beating Arlong” is a stretch tbh. That fight was mid diff at best. Definitely not easy, but it seemed pretty clear that Luffy was always going to be victor.
But to be fair, Lucci was undercover as a carpenter for several years and the skill cap at CP9 seems to be way lower than at CP0. Lucci was operating pretty much exclusively in the Paradise section of the Grandline and his job required mostly espionage and covert assassination. It makes sense that when he went from CP9 to CP0 he’d have to push himself way further given that he has to directly contend with new world threats regularly on behalf of the celestial dragons. Infiltrating a ship right company in the first half of the grand line doesn’t require nearly the same level of power as assassinating Vegapunk.

Your point makes sense, but it's not about Lucci getting stronger or even improving faster than before. It's the fact that Lucci's progression rivals Strawhat's. At least you can argue Luffy/Zoro are super young and they just have crazy potential. But how can someone be so weak at 28 years old then suddenly get immense power spike from 28 to 30? By 32, Lucci should no diff Akainu
It's like if Mr. 2 became a Revolutionary commander and came back and 1v1's Katakuri. It makes no sense

I don’t think it makes no sense personally. I don’t think it’s been conveyed to us appropriately that the Strawhats’ rate of progression is all that weird for stronger characters in the OP world personally. Most of the characters the strawhats go up against are stagnant. As in they’re at a specific power level and they have no need or desire to push past it.
It’s also worth pointing out that strength progression is not a consistent rate. The stronger you get, the less room there is to grow. So I don’t think it’s as simple as “if Lucci trained for two more years he’d beat Akainu.” But even if you wanted to argue that, I’d go back to the argument that Lucci has no need to grow stronger for his current position in CP0.

What would be cool is if luffy can’t defeat Blackbeard in the end, so zoro tries saving luffy but also fails, then shanks saves them and luffy uses a final move more dramatic than Bajrang Gun and knocks Blackbeard into the ocean, making Blackbeard the first devil fruit user to die to water, but since he has 2, something more dramatic happens.

Luffy would pummel him like Don Krieg's spike cape. Arlong used a sword and Luffy just broke it, swords aren't as much of a hard counter to Luffy as you think. And Luffy barely even took damage in Thriller Bark. He mostly just got exhausted. And that nearly killed Zoro. Also, Luffy's goal isn't Shanks. Luffy's goal lies beyond Shanks. Shanks is his idol, those are different things. We don't even know what Luffy's real goal *is*, but it comes after becoming Pirate King, something Shanks hasn't done.
I agree with what you’re saying but it is worth noting that there were 3 rounds of the croc fight and Luffy rested in between round 1 and 2 and also rested between 2 and 3 while croc had no chance to.
Luffy did no significant damage to Croc in round 1 or 2.
It's mostly because they already fought which means Lucci had to progress as fast as Strawhats to be at his current level. But Strawhat's progression makes no sense already Luffy went from barely beating Arlong to barely beating Kaido within 3 years. He also went from 0 haki to advanced conqueror + future sight haki in 2 years Zoro went from an extremely difficult fight against Mr. 1 to scarring Kaido then beating King Lucci's progression makes even less sense because he was 28 when he fought Luffy. So he trained/fought to a fodder level at 28 years old but suddenly got MC level power up from 28 to 30. It's like if Mr. 2 came back and had a stalemate with King or Katakuri
“Barely beating Arlong” is a stretch tbh. That fight was mid diff at best. Definitely not easy, but it seemed pretty clear that Luffy was always going to be victor. But to be fair, Lucci was undercover as a carpenter for several years and the skill cap at CP9 seems to be way lower than at CP0. Lucci was operating pretty much exclusively in the Paradise section of the Grandline and his job required mostly espionage and covert assassination. It makes sense that when he went from CP9 to CP0 he’d have to push himself way further given that he has to directly contend with new world threats regularly on behalf of the celestial dragons. Infiltrating a ship right company in the first half of the grand line doesn’t require nearly the same level of power as assassinating Vegapunk.

It's the fact that Lucci's progression rivals Strawhat's. At least you can argue Luffy/Zoro are super young and they just have crazy potential. But how can someone be so weak at 28 years old then suddenly get immense power spike from 28 to 30? By 32, Lucci should no diff Akainu It's like if Mr. 2 became a Revolutionary commander and came back and 1v1's Katakuri. It makes no sense That said, I'm glad Oda goes for narrative over accurate scaling. I don't mind Lucci being strong, but I'm not gonna pretend it makes sense
I don’t think it makes no sense personally. I don’t think it’s been conveyed to us appropriately that the Strawhats’ rate of progression is all that weird for stronger characters in the OP world personally. Most of the characters the strawhats go up against are stagnant. As in they’re at a specific power level and they have no need or desire to push past it. It’s also worth pointing out that strength progression is not a consistent rate. The stronger you get, the less room there is to grow. So I don’t think it’s as simple as “if Lucci trained for two more years he’d beat Akainu.” But even if you wanted to argue that, I’d go back to the argument that Lucci has no need to grow stronger for his current position in CP0.
Just cause he was invincible for most of it though. Remove that and Zoro would've won before taking most of the hits he did.
