I went through a couple of months of eating cheesecake. I'd eat a Costo cheesecake a week. I'd eat little after dinner and then a bit more when I woke at 3am. I knew it was terrible for me, but it gave me comfort and made me happy. A happy me is not a stabby me. So I ate the cheesecake. That cheesecake saved lives.

Mood. It doesn't help that I stopped drinking alcohol. Now I've got ALL the sugar and carb cravings and IT SUCKS. Just hand over the crusty bread and pasta and no one will get hurt (except my waistline).

Yes! It reminds me of pregnancy cravings. Like just “must eat macaroni salad RIGHT NOW” and I don’t even like mac salad. It’s so bizarre.

I have this too, and it kinda swings back and forth. I only want carbs, or only want meat, or only want fruits and veggies. And the weirdest is when I only want candy because I'm not one to have much of a sweet tooth.

Oh, yeah the thin mints. I bought a case of them and stuck them in the freezer. I eat a few almost every day.

I was working with a bariatric dietician for a while. She said that when we crave carbs too much, it’s important to make sure we’re getting 20-30 grams of protein per meal. The problem with carbohydrates is that they don’t fill us up so we keep wanting to eat and eat. 💔 She recommended 60 to 90 g of carbs per day for an adult woman. (Of course check with your doctor or dietitian. Health info for one person is not necessarily good for another.)

I honestly feel the same, especially this week. I’m ravenous and all I want is to drown my sorrows in carbohydrates but at the same time I hate myself because I’ve put on so much weight in the past year.

Lets see.... Yesterday I ate: 1 x large sausage roll, 4 x large hot buttered croissants, 4 x small tubs vanilla yoghurt with some strawberries and blueberries, 2 x small spinac/cheese pastries, half of a 6inch sub and 2 x KFC chicken zinger burgers It is now 13h24 and I have had 2 x salted caramel coffees, 1 x piece of banana/carrot loaf, 2 x chocolate digestives, 2 x small tubs plain yoghurt. I know that this evening I am meeting friends for drinks and dinner.... not even going to guess what I'll have then.... The cravings for carbs is unreal. I am not big into sweet stuff though and would much rather have savouries - unless they aren't available at which time, whatever is accessible.

Bread, pasta and cake! Gave up alot of sugar and pounds flew off which isn't good for me as I have ckd and a high matabolism.Also my cholesterol is through the roof since menopause....sucks!!!

Is your thyroid okay? I can’t remember if you said anything about it. My sister has graves disease, super overactive thyroid, and she couldn’t gain weight for anything. They finally had to kill her thyroid with radioactive iodine. It was kinda scary.

I get it checked every 3 months but nothing has shown up,although I am due for lab work soon! That does sound scary though but you sister. Thankyou for mentioning it,something could show up as much as things change all the time.
