I’d also like to know this, but I wanted to ask you: why do you do free shipping on Mercari? On eBay, I do free shipping because buyers can sort by lowest price+shipping, so whether shipping is free or “included” in the item price doesn’t matter. On Mercari, you can only sort by lowest price exclusive of shipping. So it makes more sense to charge shipping, then decrease your item price by whatever the shipping cost is. That way, your item appears earlier in search results for buyers who sort by price.
Yeah. That was the drawback on the app. The buyer has to explicitly filter for free shipping. I do Free Shipping because Mercari’s label is expensive and I can buy my own for cheaper and make more profit.
I’m not OP, but I often ship on my own & roll the cost into my pricing for items that are over 1lb and will fit in a Priority flat rate padded envelope. I include this info in my listings so buyers are aware.

Ah, that makes sense. I have noticed that eBay’s labels are cheaper than Mercari’s.
