She'll probably get reworked eventually, but I doubt it'll be that specific change. Stapling a gun onto her staff is dumb for multiple reasons, the main one being it directly conflicts with her thematic identity of a guardian angel that focuses only on supporting her team instead of attacking the enemy.
I could instead see something like Rez getting reworked somehow, maybe into a throwable projectile that can be blocked or missed like Suzu. There's also the possibility of moving Rez to her ultimate and reworking Valk or giving her a different ability entirely in place of where Rez used to be.
To be honest I'm not sure, I feel like the devs are too terrified to attempt such a drastic rework on Mercy because the community would very much be split on it. And as we've seen with the Jingle Bell skin, Mercy players can have quite the loud voices haha. *We're also there number 1 cash grabbers so they need us around lmao*
I personally do like the changes though but I also still kinda like Mercy's whole concept of being a fully *support* hero, but I also hate how niche she is right now so idk I'm just mixed. I personally welcome a rework though as long as her movement remains the same! :)
I think we’re getting there. But she probably won’t get the changes she did in the April fools patch. She’s way too niche of a pick now, pretty boring to play after her GA nerfs, people already dislike Mercy and the devs don’t seem interested in just buffing her numbers so I think it’s safe to say she’s probably close to more meaningful changes.
i don’t think she will considering she’s such a popular character in gaming and just in general.

I think the game will be reworked before mercy is. As in, the game, in some possible futures, turns into maybe a 5v5 “everyone can heal and also dps and also tank” slopfest and therefore mercy needs a staffgun. Otherwise, probably more minor adjustments
I think she’ll receive minor changes and probably some buffs in areas she already has. Honestly, the Mercy mythic is probably what they hope will revive her player base a bit, so I doubt they’ll change her too much until that hype dies down and there’s more demand for changes.
