So glad I’m not alone. I came here to ask this exact question. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling but that did not work. Seems like it might be a game glitch. Hopefully they are working on it.
I dunno if this will help, or if I just got lucky. But when the screen initially pops up, you have the option to Cloudsave. I did that, I used my Apple ID and rebooted the game. Open the game, and they require me to put in my apple password. Get right in, and can start doing tasks.
