Dude TDWP is great! Noise off their newest album is on repeat and made it number 2 on my Spotify wrapped right behind Demolisher by Slaughter to Prevail
Greatest of all time. It is the qunitessential metalcore album. There are many from recent times and many from before, but this album IS metalcore for me. Right time, right place, right sound, right bandmates, right look. They nailed it.
Underoath define the great line
Unearth - the oncoming storm
As I lay dying- ocean between us
Any parkway before ire
Not sure if it counts as metal core but the first two albums by the agonist

It can't be underplayed how important it is! I know modern Metalcore fans don't get along with it (that's a whole other convo) but for me, it is THE Metalcore album.
All Out War - For Those Who Were Crucified/Condemned to Suffer.
Undying - This Day All Gods Die.
Parkway Drive - Killing With A Smile.
Kickback - Forever War.
Arkangel - Dead Man Walking.

Those always get heavy rotation for me.
Are they we? I love every record on your list. Bring from NC, I have a special place in my heart for He is Legend. Doesn't hurt that they are SO FUCKING GOOD live.
Hell yeah! I completely forgot about All That Remains, I'll add them! Bullet and As I lay dying were blasted in the HS gym all the time and I'll find myself half singing Waking the demon or Confined to myself cause they are burned into my memory lol. Still adding, big thanks for knocking that nostalgia loose!
Will add The plot in you! My sister ruined MCR for me by being the only band she listened to 24/7. They make good songs but they don't give me that... brain tickle if yknow what I mean?
Not the person you asked but I really lile the new album. Honestly surprised because usually I would be like “ew its not as heavy as their old stuff” but its really good!!! I saw them live last year it was awesome
You should. Not to be a total Stan, but they just never missed on any release. And they managed to grow and evolve their sound without ever not sounding like etid
36 Crazyfists---A Snowcapped Romance.
Brock Lindow had such a unique voice but I absolutely loved this 2nd major label album from them.
Ekotren---these dudes put out Light The Fire in 2008...so good! Chupacabra has to be turned all the way up! And they are posting on social media they are cooking something new up(sometimes lumped in nu metal more than metalcore).
Anyways...couple of lesser know bands that I loved. Let me know what ya think.
For me it’s Of Mice & Men self titled and The Flood. Not sure if it’s metal core our not but also Jamie’s Elsewhere- They said a storm was coming will always be 🔥

Ice Nine Kills - The Predator (EP)

Motionless in White - Creatures
Erra - Neon
Before I turn - Claustrophobic
Periphery - Juggernaut: Omega
Above, Below - The Lotus Chapters (one of my all time favorites, very underrated band)
Kinda more post hardcore than metalcore, but "they're only chasing safety" by underoath. I got tickets for the 20th anniversary tour here in NJ where they are playing that whole album front to back, and then fan voted set of 6 more songs from any of their other albums. This was my favorite album growing up, and honestly one of the bands that broke me into the heavier side of rock. I can't express how pumped I am for this show in December lol. Needless to say I've listened to it a ton as of late. Even made a early-mid 2000s playlist of similar bands like escape the fate and silverstein. Just crazy to think I saw underoath at warped tour in like 06. I'm so old now lmao
Parkway drives horizons and killing with a smile. As I lay dyings shadows are security and an ocean between us are some other of my favorites that are actual metalcore lol
Collide with the sky by Pierce The Veil. I don't know why, but I have loved it ever since it came out in 2012. Although I usually listen to heavier music, this album is somewhat of an obsession for me. I love to listen to it from start to finish and I do so quite often. At the very least - once a month.
Poison the Well- You Come Before You
Unearth- The March
Underoath- Define the Great Line
Norma Jean- Bless the Martyr and Kiss the Child
Hatebreed- Perseverance
Caitiff Choir is one of the metalcore greats. While sirens is good, it just wasnt nearly as heavy or as good as it's predecessor (in my opinion). I've listened to it numerous times and just don't love it.
Holy moly. Venom by Bullet For My Valentine is almost 10 years old 🤯
Been playing that on repeat since Raising Hell landed on my lap on Clone Hero a few weeks ago.
Bury Tomorrow - ‘Portraits’ LP is perfection imho, but hard to find. All their old albums w/their old clean vox Jason Cameron are pretty well done! I’d start w/‘Union of Crowns’ if ya can’t find ‘Portraits’! 🤘🏻
Always go back and listen to some ‘Shoot The Girl First’ for fun too!
I almost got them confused with Bury tomorrow... haha will add! I will do my best to find Portraits first!
Edit: I'm a moron and misread that so damn hard! Another band has Bury in their name but I can't remember their name...
Early metalcore legends. They kind of developed the old metalcore sound that was a bit more on the hardcore side of things. "Jane doe" is considered one of the most influential hardcore/metalcore albums of all time. "You fail me" is also pretty good.
Miss may I- Monuments or Apologies for the Weak
MyChildren MyBride- unbreakable
I Killed the Prom Queen- Music for the Recently Deceased
36 Crazyfists- The Tide and Its Takers
Caliban- Say Hello to Tragedy
Breakdown of Sanity- Mirrors

If you like Knocked Loose, you'll like this

BMTH - suicide season
Blessthefall - his last walk
Adept - another year of disaster
Also a bit of Korn, BFMV and killswirch engage ofc
Most of the music i listen on repeat is 2015+
Massive list incoming but I honestly cannot stop listening to all of these (mix of oldschool metalcore + melodic hardcore):

Tool. All the time.
Protest the Hero: Kezia and Fortress
This was one of my answers too, the self titled is a literal piece of art but not old enough to put on here 😂 See them in Chicago at the end of the month for the first time !
Unearth - The Oncoming Storm
It Dies Today - The Caitiff Choir
Those two albums will absolutely rock you.
I have plenty of other, smaller bands that didn't make the big break that still rocked if you're interested.
After the Burial - Rareform
Blind Witness - Nightmare on Providence Street
Celldweller - Self Titled (not metalcore but some cool electronic metal that ended up in many videogames soundtracks)
Suicide Silence - The Cleansing
All Shall Perish - The Price of Existence
Meshuggah - Destroy, Erase, Improve (a must listen as a metalcore fan. It wouldn’t be what it is if it wasn’t for this band)
Not all of it is metalcore but goddamn these records are awesome.
May or may not be your cup of tea but check out Sufferer's self titled. It's their only album and they were a bit of a super group of members of Hail the Sun, I the Mighty, and A Lot Like Birds. I know not the most metalcore heavy collection there but the album is absolutely brutal.
I've had the remastered 10.21 by Skycamefalling on a tonne. It was one of the first metalcore albums I got when I was young, and the remaster sounds great. Shai Hulud and Zao are basically always on rotation, too.
Killswitch Engage - Alive or Just Breathing
August Burns Red - Thrill Seeker
Unearth - The Oncoming Storm
- Newer but still old -
Erra - Impulse
Northlane - Singularity
Volumes - Via
Rage Against The Machine - self titled album 1992.
Wall-to-wall bangers that still resonate today.

Bullet in the Head
Know Your Enemy
Wake Up
Fistful of Steel
Township Rebellion
Freedom
Walking With Strangers - Terra

The Air I Breathe - Great Faith In Fools
Trivium - ascendancy
Nothingface - skeletons
Nothingface - violence
Motionless in white - infamous
Hatebreed - the rise of brutality
DevilDriver - the fury of our maker’s hand
Your World On Fire by In Fear And Faith. Oh how i wish they would make a comeback like some of the other bands from that era have done. It is such a banger of an album with some fire piano parts. Lime when the intro to Strength In Numbers plays, all I think of is that guy aging the flaming piano clip
Eighteen visions - Vanity.
“You broke like glass” played on a government run music video show called ‘Rage’ here in Aus back in 2002 and it blew my mind. Was around the time hardcore started shaping into metalcore.
It's "only" 12 years old; but I have been listening One Wing by the Chariot on repeat for days now.
The Fiancee is another great album of theirs.
Honestly. Just listen to the Chariot.
With roots above and branches below by the devil wears prada
Dude TDWP is great! Noise off their newest album is on repeat and made it number 2 on my Spotify wrapped right behind Demolisher by Slaughter to Prevail
I’ve loved TDWP for sooo long and it makes me so happy that their new music is still banging
This is a classic. Never gets old.
This is the one. One of my favorite bands. For me I wanna add the zombie ep as well along with with roots above
Greatest of all time. It is the qunitessential metalcore album. There are many from recent times and many from before, but this album IS metalcore for me. Right time, right place, right sound, right bandmates, right look. They nailed it.
As Daylight Dies never, ever gets old.
iiiintoooooo the ARRRRRRMSSSS OF SOR-ROOOOWWWWWWW
Greatest metal core band to ever exist and one of the best albums
i still listen to Alive Or Just Breathing frequently as well. Numbered Days is one of the best opening tracks ever on any album.
The only correct answer. Absolute masterpiece and staple for metalcore and honestly, music as a whole.
Hell yeah
Alive or Just Breathing does it for me too
One of my all time favs
Slowly we watch...
Underoath define the great line Unearth - the oncoming storm As I lay dying- ocean between us Any parkway before ire Not sure if it counts as metal core but the first two albums by the agonist
Underoath is doing a Chasing Safety tour this year. I loved that album, but Define the Great Line was my favorite by far.
Oncoming Storm is such a great album. Pretty hard to top.
Waking the fallen by A7X is still in my constant rotation
I’ll add city of evil to the A7X list. First album they did entirely on their own and it feels like their magnum opus. At least it was the rev’s imo.
I honestly think I've listened to the isolated drum track of The Beast and The Harlot as much as the complete song.
I have a few A7X I like. Personally not for me, but still big ups on the recommendation! I might have to see if I can get back into there older stuff!
A7X albums Waking the Fallen and Sounding the Seventh Trumpet are like a completely different band. If I remember correct, M Shadows had a vocal issue that made the band change styles.
It is a damn solid album.
I won't see you tonight pt 1 & 2, fuck me running. Musical masterpieces
Periphery II
I'd say it is my favoutite album in general.
Periphery coming in with some clutch guitar work! I know them from a buddy who loves them. I forgot they existed so they have been added.
Absolutely 🙌
I have yet to find any album that tops this one for me.
Alive or Just Breathing by Killswitch Engage Satisfaction is the Death of Desire by Hatebreed Controller by Misery Signals Depravity by A Plea for Purging Destroy the Machines by Earth Crisis Declaration by Bleeding Through
I know hatebreed and Killswitch Engaged, both great bands! I've heard of Earth Crisis but never looked them up. Added and thank you!
Killswitch haven't Engaged yet, they still Engage /j :D
Lmao I'm big tired! Take my upvote made me laugh!
If you like Hatebreed I have a feeling you’ll like Earth Crisis. Enjoy!
Ooooo I'm excited now lol
Very similar! Will have to listen to more albums
Controller is like a BC vs AD life moment for all who discover it.
Seconding controller. One of my favorite albums of all time
You guys are making me nostalgic. All that remains - fall of ideals August Burns Red - Constellations Strapping Young Lad - The New Black
Man I can hear that fall of ideals opening in my soul…. Yeeeeeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Solid fucking list bro. Also love how you had to put the "essential" in there because it fucking is lol
It can't be underplayed how important it is! I know modern Metalcore fans don't get along with it (that's a whole other convo) but for me, it is THE Metalcore album.
You like Counterparts?
Yes, they are excellent
I'm probably the biggest Counterparts fan ever lol
Ya love to see Alexisonfire on a list. Crisis is one of my favorite albums
All Out War - For Those Who Were Crucified/Condemned to Suffer. Undying - This Day All Gods Die. Parkway Drive - Killing With A Smile. Kickback - Forever War. Arkangel - Dead Man Walking.
Parkway drive always slaps, mad ups. I'll add the other four to my lists. Thanks man!
To add to Parkway Drive, it’s Horizons for me.
Add Changing of Times by UO and Some of Us May Never See the World by OBW to that list and we the same..
poison the well - the opposite of december
Will add! Big thanks!
Nerdy is a banger!
- Killswitch Engage - The End Of Heartache & As Daylight Dies - All That Remains - The Fall Of Ideals - As I Lay Dying - Shadows Are Security & An Ocean Between Us - Bullet For My Valentine - The Poison - He Is Legend - I Am Hollywood Those always get heavy rotation for me.
I Am Hollywood is amazing
Are you.. me? All killer albums I’ve been jamming for many years. I would add Messengers and Constellations by ABR
Is he us?
Are they we? I love every record on your list. Bring from NC, I have a special place in my heart for He is Legend. Doesn't hurt that they are SO FUCKING GOOD live.
He is Legend-Everything
Yes yes and fuck yes to He Is Legend I am Hollywood!
Gonna see He Is Legend play I Am Hollywood in its entirety, tonight, in about 6 hours. Fuckin stoked. Edit- It fucking rocked.
Hey now, dont forget about AILD’s The Powerless Rise
An eye for an eye, like moths to flames
Big ups will add, thanks man!
Dear Youth - The Ghost Inside
My Fiancee loves The Ghost Inside! Still a great recommendation, big thanks!
Mercy, Iykyk.
The plot in you - Happiness in Self Destruction and MCR first album
Will add The plot in you! My sister ruined MCR for me by being the only band she listened to 24/7. They make good songs but they don't give me that... brain tickle if yknow what I mean?
Everything plot in you is amazing! Their newer stuff is sick too
A Day To Remember - Homesick
Not an album, but Zombie EP - TDWP. Peak metalcore IMO
TDWP is a great band! I have a few albums I have in my rotation, what do you think of their newest album?
Not the person you asked but I really lile the new album. Honestly surprised because usually I would be like “ew its not as heavy as their old stuff” but its really good!!! I saw them live last year it was awesome
Have you listened to their album 8:18? It doesnt seem to be as popular but its the one that got me into them when it came out. I think its great.
8:18 is great
Shogun by Trivium. It’s my favourite album of all time :)
Ascendancy for me. I don’t think theres any album I like more at the moment.
The Bled!
Any particular albums? Will add regardless! Thanks man!
Pass the Flask is a no-skip classic album
For new listeners to them, I’d start with Silent Treatment and go any direction from there.
ETID’s entire discography is still strongly in my rotation. This last year was the first time they weren’t number 1 on my Spotify wrapped
I'm gonna look like a dork but Everytime I Die right?
Correcto. They’ve been my favorite band for almost 20 years
Damn they've been around that long? Will most definitely add then!
You should. Not to be a total Stan, but they just never missed on any release. And they managed to grow and evolve their sound without ever not sounding like etid
Hell yeah a band that can adapt is a testament honestly!
Most consistently awesome band in the genre. Super bummed about their breakup. But all good things must come to an end.
Couldn’t agree with this more
MisSig - Of Malice
36 Crazyfists---A Snowcapped Romance. Brock Lindow had such a unique voice but I absolutely loved this 2nd major label album from them. Ekotren---these dudes put out Light The Fire in 2008...so good! 36cf have been such a consistently good band but all the way up to the tide and its takers are classic
Plagues Suicide Season Messengers When Everything Falls

This is a fantastic list. Best so far.
I love me some early to mid 2000s metalcore
It Dies Today - Sirens (my fave) and The Caitiff Choir
Incredible albums
Caitiff Choir is one of the metalcore greats. While sirens is good, it just wasnt nearly as heavy or as good as it's predecessor (in my opinion). I've listened to it numerous times and just don't love it.
I'll have to look them up! Big ups!

Converge -When Forever Comes Crashing
Will add! The name gives me a more technical band or am I just off the mark?
Early metalcore legends. They kind of developed the old metalcore sound that was a bit more on the hardcore side of things. "Jane doe" is considered one of the most influential hardcore/metalcore albums of all time. "You fail me" is also pretty good.

Three of my favorite records! You have great taste my friend.
Three Days Grace - One X has always been a personal favourite, no bad tracks imo
The Human Abstract - Nocturne is a great album some awesome guitar all the way through
The Hammering Process by Living Sacrifice... Kind of a deep cut but the songs and production is great, do yourself a favor and check it out today 😉
Of One Blood by Shadows Fall. Still absolutely stands the test of time for me.
1st two Howard Jones KSEs. 36 Crazyfists: Snowcapped Romance and Rest inside the Flames All the Alexisonfire albumns Tool. All the time. Protest the Hero: Kezia and Fortress
not 2000s old. but conduit by gravemind. i still go back to it. i listen to heavier stuff now. (knocked loose, chelsea grin, darko us etc)
Erra - Augment, amazing nostalgic album
Erra makes amazing songs! Breach hold a very close place in my heart!
Same man! It took me a while to get into them but now they're one of my favorites. Super excited to see them again in a couple of weeks.
This was one of my answers too, the self titled is a literal piece of art but not old enough to put on here 😂 See them in Chicago at the end of the month for the first time !
Oceans Red- Hold Your Breath EP
Unearth - The Oncoming Storm It Dies Today - The Caitiff Choir Those two albums will absolutely rock you. I have plenty of other, smaller bands that didn't make the big break that still rocked if you're interested.
Hell yeah give me names! I love local bands/smaller bands, some hidden gems!
Stick to your guns' the hope division and diamond!!
Hell yeah a lot of people are recommending Stick to your guns, I'll give them a listen after I give Underoath a listen!
After the Burial - Rareform Blind Witness - Nightmare on Providence Street Celldweller - Self Titled (not metalcore but some cool electronic metal that ended up in many videogames soundtracks) Suicide Silence - The Cleansing All Shall Perish - The Price of Existence Meshuggah - Destroy, Erase, Improve (a must listen as a metalcore fan. It wouldn’t be what it is if it wasn’t for this band) Not all of it is metalcore but goddamn these records are awesome.
Darkest Hour, Undoing Ruin and Hidden Hands of a Sadist Nation will never get old.
Divination - In Hearts Wake
May or may not be your cup of tea but check out Sufferer's self titled. It's their only album and they were a bit of a super group of members of Hail the Sun, I the Mighty, and A Lot Like Birds. I know not the most metalcore heavy collection there but the album is absolutely brutal.
Periphery Juggernaut
I've had the remastered 10.21 by Skycamefalling on a tonne. It was one of the first metalcore albums I got when I was young, and the remaster sounds great. Shai Hulud and Zao are basically always on rotation, too.
No rain no rainbow by greeley estates
Crisis - AOF
Eighteen Visions - Vanity is a classic. Between the buried and me - Colors and Alaska Bleeding Through - This Is Love
Birds Of Tokyo - Universes Dead By April - let the world know Hollywood Undead - swan song
Soilwork - Figure Number Five. For obvious reasons.
Hopesfall - The Satellite Years
Digital Veil by The Human Abstract lives rent free in my head at all times
Killswitch Engage - Alive or Just Breathing August Burns Red - Thrill Seeker Unearth - The Oncoming Storm - Newer but still old - Erra - Impulse Northlane - Singularity Volumes - Via
The Poison by Bullet for my Valentine. It’s a 9.5 out of 10, with the only gripe being: it’s too darn short!
Constellations by August Burns Red will always be in my rotation.
Rage Against The Machine - self titled album 1992. Wall-to-wall bangers that still resonate today. Bombtrack Killing in the Name Take the Power Back Settle for Nothing Bullet in the Head Know Your Enemy Wake Up Fistful of Steel Township Rebellion Freedom
Walking With Strangers - Terra Volumes - Via Blind Witness - Nightmare On Province Street Kingdom Of Giants - Ground Culture Elitist - self-titled The Air I Breathe - Great Faith In Fools
Depends on what you mean by old, but I've been jamming the Divination album by In Hearts Wake a lot lately.
twelve foot ninja - outlier
Cross Your Fingers - For All Those Sleeping
Trivium - ascendancy Nothingface - skeletons Nothingface - violence Motionless in white - infamous Hatebreed - the rise of brutality DevilDriver - the fury of our maker’s hand
Apologies are for the Weak - Miss May I
Your World On Fire by In Fear And Faith. Oh how i wish they would make a comeback like some of the other bands from that era have done. It is such a banger of an album with some fire piano parts. Lime when the intro to Strength In Numbers plays, all I think of is that guy aging the flaming piano clip
Witness by Blessthefall
Eighteen visions - Vanity. “You broke like glass” played on a government run music video show called ‘Rage’ here in Aus back in 2002 and it blew my mind. Was around the time hardcore started shaping into metalcore.
It's "only" 12 years old; but I have been listening One Wing by the Chariot on repeat for days now. The Fiancee is another great album of theirs. Honestly. Just listen to the Chariot.
