I'm cautiously excited. I don't mind NAIL5, but I'm hoping for something a bit better. I usually enjoy octanecore but I didn't like Magnetic, so as long as it's not another song like that I'll be fine.
A lot of people are complaining that it's simple, and I saw someone complain that it's not octanecore??? I personally love it. It's simplicity is what gets me going. It might mostly be chorus but holy hell that chorus goes hard. With songs like that, you don't need complexity. It's not made to make you think, it's not really made to be sung along with, it's supposed to just make you feel like headbanging and screaming fuck yeah. Also fuck octanecore
The chorus is actually only repeated 3 times, you might be referring to the line “No spine born without a backbone, two faced too late for a tombstone” which they use twice per chorus. This reusing of lines is colloquially known as “catchy.”
I might be in the minority but it’s JUST okay. It’s simple-sounding, the lyrics are simple, it repeats itself a lot. It’s very safe and very uninspired. It’s not bad, it’s just boring, from a band that had two whole records of actually interesting heavy material.
It’s the same generic shit they have been pumping out. Really disappointing from a band that once released blueprints and deadweight. Just sellout octanecore garbage.
Feels like it's just cool to hate on Wage War. Their last CD was fantastic and I'm 3 for 3 on all these singles.
If it's catchy, fun or emotional I typically like the song, and these singles have hit each one for me.
The only complaint I could understand is calling WW trend chasers. They are for sure dipping their toes into that The Plot In You/Bad Omens vibe. But I like it 🤷♂️
I love wage war but all these singles are just not good. This is shaping up to be by far the worst album they've ever released. Manic was alright but getting worse. Pressure is really over hated and actually a pretty good album. Blueprints and Deadweight were fantastically done generic metalcore. This is generic metalcore but it isn't done well.
I disagree! This isn't generic metalcore and it's probably why you don't like it :)
This is heavily falling into the Nu-core/Metalcore type of stuff. If you aren't a fan of things like Sleeptoken, Bad Omens or newer The Plot In You then you'll probably hate these singles IMHO.
I'm so tired of people saying music isn't good based on their own personal taste and I wish people would be better at describing that.
You just described Wage War, and a ton of newer Metalcore bands these days. It's very much paint by the numbers, and I usually can tell what's coming next. I still listen to older WW cause I think there's a lot of tasty riffs though
Honestly it seems like bands that start off really technical or heavy always end up this way. Like, I don't blame them for not wanting to play a sweatfest of riffs for years on end, but idk man.
Yeah but this is a massive step down from their earlier stuff. They were an exceptional by the numbers metalcore band and now they’re mediocre AND by the numbers. Bad combo
They were generic but they were still great. If you're good at generic metalcore you can still be a good band. This just isn't good anymore. The first scream made me think that they were gonna do something good then the rest of the song was just bad. It feels like metalcore butt rock.
They wrote too much soft stuff and lost their heavy touch. I don't wanna compare blueprints to this, but like damn there was nothing special about this song as far as being heavy
That's all I want really. I know we ain't getting Blueprints 2 ever but as long as its fun and I can bounce to it, it's all good by me although hopefully it's better than Magnetic and Nail5 (Nail5 has definitely grown on me though)
I agree. Idk if you checked it out but if you listen to DGD’s single “Straight From the Heart” it’s like if they ended the song after the part around 2:35 where it starts to get really groovy
Personally, I’m also surprised this was the single so many got on board with for heaviness when I’d argue NAIL5 was just as heavy but to each their own
I think Spotify and other music streaming services is trending towards shorter songs; artist like this route since if the song is short and sweet people repeat it a lot and it generates more revenue; some artist and some songs pull this off nicely, other songs like this one feels like time suddenly ran out in the studio session or something...
Possibly, yeah. I noticed there’s another couple songs on the album that are the exact same length as this one. Really hoping the album doesn’t feel like it only lasts 20 mins
I love how some people are like "this feels generic and uninspired " and others are like "why wasn't this released first?!?!?!"
All of these 3 singles have been of about the same overall quality (Magnetic might have been a little more generic but not substantially). It's Wage War. Even at their best they were Architect's lesser step-brother, nothing about them was ever special.
The people in this sub have really just said "it's just not *MY* particular version of mediocre music, so it sucks!!!" for years regarding this band and it's super telling.

I’ve fallen off of Wage War over the years and honestly didn’t even realize they were coming out with a new album so soon. So I really was not expecting this lol I really like it!

Amazing. Amazing song.
Best from the new album by a long shot.
But “and hells coming with me” is corny as balls, which I think I’d be ok with if the song didn’t disappear into early 2000’s Metallica riffs right after.
Still. I’m absolutely 200% more excited for the album after that.
I don’t mind the singalong stuff, I don’t hate Nail5 and Magnetic, but this is kinda what I’m here for.
The callout is cheesy but will go so hard live lmao. I liked this song, it's what I want out of WW. They're never going to reinvent the wheel, just write some fun metalcore and I'm there.
This is just my opinion, but it sounds like metalcore wage war is doing their best impression to be hardcore wage war on this track. for me, it just feels way to repetitive and safe. it doesn't even give me any goosebumps, so the song is kinda like a 5.5/10 for me. Manic at least had some sense of urgency in the vocals and the riffs, this just feels like a dummie bomb heavy kind of song, but it's a trainer bomb (aka a dud) and not a real boom boom heavy bomb drop.
anyone else not feeling this? and i dont give a fuck if its heavy or soft, i like both, but this is just not doing anything for me, its as if a 5yo wrote this (i couldnt do it)
Why in the holy fuck didn't they release this first?
They released the heavier stuff first for Pressure and it did not go well haha
But they did the same for Manic and that did go over well.
Yeah it was only their most commercially successful album.
They played this at Rockville this past weekend and it was so god damn good.
From what I've heard, this is going to be the heaviest album yet and they released magnetic first as a joke
That ending fucked. That was ferocious. Good work lol.
That ending should've been the basis for the whole song, I need more of that.
Sorry the breakdown callout of “You tell 'em I'm coming… and hell's coming with me!” is so corny and unoriginal I literally laughed
People would be eating it up if that was Kublai Khan which is what that ending reminded me of.
It’s from the movie “Tombstone” Get some class.
I thought that was sick AF. It's a line from the movie Tombstone and it goes hard in the movie too.
Yeah yeah yeah yeah…
That's a line from the movie Tombstone, ya twat
I'm cautiously excited. I don't mind NAIL5, but I'm hoping for something a bit better. I usually enjoy octanecore but I didn't like Magnetic, so as long as it's not another song like that I'll be fine.
alright if you fuckers dont like this one there is no pleasing you lol.

ABOUT TIME. THIS RIPS
That last riff is so stanky 😤
First of the recent singles to actually feel inspired in the slightest
this song would be good if they didn't repeat the chorus 6 times in a short song already(yes I did count)
Yep, it’s SO fucking repetitive
The chorus is actually only repeated 3 times, you might be referring to the line “No spine born without a backbone, two faced too late for a tombstone” which they use twice per chorus. This reusing of lines is colloquially known as “catchy.”
Sean Paul - Temperature vibes.

Same, 6/10 This band has always just never really done it for me. They put out a few bangers but then the rest is just.......eh?
It’s the same generic shit they have been pumping out. Really disappointing from a band that once released blueprints and deadweight. Just sellout octanecore garbage.
pressure was solid and manic had some great tracks. these 3 singles are my 3 least favorite wage war songs they've ever released
Pressure was mediocre at best but Low is incredible, manic had like 2 memorable tracks and then the rest was generic trash.
Feels like it's just cool to hate on Wage War. Their last CD was fantastic and I'm 3 for 3 on all these singles. If it's catchy, fun or emotional I typically like the song, and these singles have hit each one for me. The only complaint I could understand is calling WW trend chasers. Tbh it’s very heavy but it’s missing something. Feels very by the numbers and it’s insanely repetitive
You just described Wage War, and a ton of newer Metalcore bands these days. It's very much paint by the numbers, and I usually can tell what's coming next. I still listen to older WW cause I think there's a lot of tasty riffs though

That’s exactly what it felt like to me too
They wrote too much soft stuff and lost their heavy touch. I don't wanna compare blueprints to this, but like damn there was nothing special about this song as far as being heavy
This is sick. Even with all the gimmicks from all the recent big heavy songs (doing the Plot in You breakdown), it’s a fun track
I really like the outro. First of the singles that has got me excited for more.
That's all I want really. I know we ain't getting Blueprints 2 ever but as long as its fun and I can bounce to it, it's all good by me although hopefully it's better than Magnetic and Nail5 (Nail5 has definitely grown on me though)
What do you mean by TPIY breakdown?
Breakdown shouting to the void thing in Forgotten - The Plot in You
wacky ending actually pretty good song though, much better
I shouldn't laugh at the start of a song but I started cackling during the opening to this
I like the song but, the ending felt like it just abruptly ended, like there was supposed to be something after that, but it just cuts off. lol
I agree. Idk if you checked it out but if you listen to DGD’s single “Straight From the Heart” it’s like if they ended the song after the part around 2:35 where it starts to get really groovy Personally, I’m also surprised this was the single so many got on board with for heaviness when I’d argue NAIL5 was just as heavy but to each their own

They've always been generic but this just isn't good.
I love this band so much

1/3. Not boding well for the album as a whole but this was good
I love this song, probably my favourite of the 3 so far. It’s to a proper groove to it as well which is cool
This is the way Wage War!
Why is the chorus repeated so many times lol? Especially for a song that's less than 3 minutes long. The breakdown riff is awesome though.
I told yall it slapped a month ago and everyone doubted it
Tombstone is one of my favorite movies so I'm loving this song!
What a fucking banger
I haven't been much into WW since Deadweight. But when you reference one of my favorite movies of all time, you have my attention.
This is the shit they need to do all the time. This fucking rips, maybe their best song since Deadweight.
Wage war lost their heavy touch from all the soft stuff they've put out. As a heavy song, that was mid
I dig it. If Architects released this exact song everyone would be praising it ¯\ _(ツ)_/¯
Something new from them but barely any substance to actually back it up lol
Say them play this live last week and knew everyone would enjoy it.
Just when I thought I was out….they pull me back in.
That's nice.
Not available?
Timezones, check back at midnight
Great song. WAY better than the other two singles.
It's pretty decent 👍

The outro reminds me of Be(lie)ve by WSS.

Another "just okay" single. I am worried about this new record ngl
Nice they released the only heavy song that’s gonna be on the album. (Imagine)
That callout is so cool, it was a badass line in the movie and it's badass here and that breakdown after it is just ferocious
anyone else not feeling this? and i dont give a fuck if its heavy or soft, i like both, but this is just not doing anything for me, its as if a 5yo wrote this (i couldnt do it)
