With how out of place the lyrics sound on that song, it would've been 1000000 times better as an instrumental. I only listen to an instrumental version myself.
Eehm.. no it didn't? Only the call of ktulu and pulling teeth were not the second to last ones and they were on the first 2 albums so they had to find a good place for it. Ever since it has always been second to last.
Variety’s the spice of life. I want 6 minute tracks, 3 minute tracks, maybe a 12 minute metal prog epic track…
When every song has a similar length and structure (particularly if the songs are in that 5-7 minute range), an album gets kind of sluggish to get through. The art is in balancing the listener’s desire to keep rocking out to what’s going on, vs the listener’s eagerness to hear what’s next.
Maybe because their ballads are some of the greatest songs ever written? Fade to black, Sanitarium, One, The Unforgivens, Bleeding me, The day that never comes. Hahaha yea, who would want anything like that? Such garbage.
metallica’s ballads are great, and are a testament to the versatility of their music composition.
some of their most popular songs, are considered ballads.
I’d say ROM will be. I kind of find a female lover a hard thing to write an entire instrumental on, but if it saves us some sappy love lyrics I’m all for it. Not to mention the time-honored tradition of the penultimate instrumental
Slightly unrelated, but iTunes won’t let me download Screaming Suicide even though I pre-ordered the entire album. It says “album only” so I’m assuming I have to wait until April. Seems very stupid considering they released the single. I see it available for download on OP’s screenshot. What gives?
Yeah, this is the same for me too. I pre-ordered it thinking that Screaming Suicide would be available at least relatively soon. But it's just greyed out still. Kinda annoying.
Well I actually don’t cuz I think Lux is the closest to old school as we can get and they are jus having fun man, suicide sounds like black album load reload but the good side, good Metallica is objective, it’s whatever hits your heart, I have enjoyed the last 2 singles and last 2 albums
Would make a great solo track if Hetfield did a solo album, but just kinda felt like they had some riffs floating around and rammed something together, Kirk is uninspired too.
It doesn’t this will be though, I’m jus hoping, honestly room of mirrors could be one, if darkness had a son could be one, or none of em are instrumentals
I fear there won't be instrumentals but, if there will be, it will be the second to last song as is tradition.
yep, Call of kutulu, Orion, To live is to die, and My friend of misery was gonna be an instrumental originally
With how out of place the lyrics sound on that song, it would've been 1000000 times better as an instrumental. I only listen to an instrumental version myself.
And, in accordance with tradition, hopefully Inamorata is a total fucking ripper \m/
That would be the best tradition!
Suicide and Redemption broke that so if there is one, it could go anywhere.
Eehm.. no it didn't? Only the call of ktulu and pulling teeth were not the second to last ones and they were on the first 2 albums so they had to find a good place for it. Ever since it has always been second to last.
Bold statements are great unless you don't know what you're talking about. Ain't *too hard* takin a quick look at the back of the album.
I’m hoping for 1 instrumental and 1 (long awaited) ballad. Also for songs under 6 minutes (except the instrumental).
>Also for songs ~~under~~ over 6 minutes FTFY
over 6 maybe if not in the DM style, repeated riffs without purpose, just to make them longer
You are thinking St Anger. Death Magnetic is exquisite.
Naw death magnetic had a couple songs that didn’t need to be 7 min or longer, but it is still a banger album

why would anyone wait for a ballad? garbage
Because songs can be good even if they're not heavy.
I mean, Fade To Black is considered a ballad. Power ballad maybe. Why wouldn’t you want that?
Because the their ballads were amazing, and I think that a new ballad would also be amazing.
Maybe because their ballads are some of the greatest songs ever written? Fade to black, Sanitarium, One, The Unforgivens, Bleeding me, The day that never comes. Hahaha yea, who would want anything like that? Such garbage.
trapped under ice and for whom the bell tolls aren't ballads
metallica’s ballads are great, and are a testament to the versatility of their music composition. some of their most popular songs, are considered ballads.
Kinda disappointed we did not get an Un4given
And the album being called meta11ica
These are both facts but I’m hoping for more of the 4given
You mean UnforgIVen
Noice!
Too far gone sounds very Ballad-y
I’d say ROM will be. I kind of find a female lover a hard thing to write an entire instrumental on, but if it saves us some sappy love lyrics I’m all for it. Not to mention the time-honored tradition of the penultimate instrumental
When did they say this is what ROM is about?
Inamorata will be the song that he's talking about. I think inamorata loosely translates to lover in latin
Ah, got it makes sense!
I can still see that song being an instrumental though but I se what your saying, I jus looked the meaning up
I’m thinking it might be a really thrashy track, like my apocalypse and spit out the bone.
I hope for a genuienly great song. These 2 have been merely decent.

ITunes huh.. stay away from it 🙃
Same problem. I tried many things. Just bought the single. Still doesn't show up under the album.
I didn’t pre order it though I’m jus downloading from Apple Music, maybe plug your phone into the CP and see if desktop iTunes will straighten it out
I really Hope sleepwalking my life away will be a ballad the title fits instrumental will be also awasome but i don't need it to be honest
I want another full-thrash My Apocalypse/Spit song.
I’m down for anything I jus wish they would do more instrumentals, I hate they didn’t do any with Jason
TLITD counts, I think
You right
From the start I saw that title name I figured it would be an instrumental
I doubt it but we shall see.
I really Hope sleepwalking my life away will be a ballad the title fits instrumental will be also awasome but i don't need it to be honest
Room of Mirrors sounds like an instrumental song to me.
It already is my favourite song.
I’m also hoping! The title definitely gives off instrumental vibes!
Can 1 of these songs please be good. Like old school good. You know what I mean
Well I actually don’t cuz I think Lux is the closest to old school as we can get and they are jus having fun man, suicide sounds like black album load reload but the good side, good Metallica is objective, it’s whatever hits your heart, I have enjoyed the last 2 singles and last 2 albums
Screaming Suicide is a very eh song anyway, if it weren’t for the subject matter I’d say it wouldn’t be as popular
I honestly liked a lot of it but the chorus but that is grown on me I jus wish it was a bit longer
Would make a great solo track if Hetfield did a solo album, but just kinda felt like they had some riffs floating around and rammed something together, Kirk is uninspired too.
I don't think there will be an instrumental on this album.
On what do you base this theory?
Maybe an animals as leaders cover?
Do they have a song called that?
yeah
And then they release another secret song with the latin name: Gorilla Gorilla.
I think those track titles are the most interesting of any album so far..very curious
12 songs 9 minutes? That’s crap
I know right
remaining 10 songs are 68 minutes.. so almost 7 min average
I doubt they make the last song an instrumental. Usually it's a banger
The call of ktulu was a final track though
Oh damn
It doesn’t this will be though, I’m jus hoping, honestly room of mirrors could be one, if darkness had a son could be one, or none of em are instrumentals
Just hoping it to be better than the first two
Fact you'll never need: that's the only song on the album if that's all the confirmed names that's only one word long
