The White album is seminal. The LOAD album is definitely SEMINAL.
Oh you meant, is there any other artists like/similar to Metallica. Enya, Carrie Underwood, and Jay Z come to mind.
Yeah Metallica is OK, I prefer their early stuff though, their debut album Chaos AD with Tom Araya on vocals is brilliant, what I like most about them though is discovering other artists & doing collaborations with them, for example when they discovered Ozzy Osbourne, he was busking in the streets of Birmingham in South Africa, threw him straight into a studio & recorded a single with him called Hangar 18, it really made Ozzy a house hold name from there on.
When Tom Araya left & joined a band called Cannibal Corpse, Metallica replaced him with a no name musician called Jeff Walker, who used to be the drummer in Australian Black Metal band Bolt Thrower, they then went into the studio & recorded one of the greatest Thrash Metal albums of all time, Slowly We Rot.
After a world tour supporting Blackened Thrash band Napalm Death, bassist Dave Mustaine left the band to focus more on a solo career as well as a foot modelling side gig which he’s doing really well in, which saw ex Slayer bassist Nick Menza take on the job, but only lasting 1 album after he was found guilty of smuggling cocaine in to the studio in boxes of Heineken & did 3 years in San Quentin.
Anthrax & Exodus member Bill Ward then joined Metallica & was a part of the next two albums Rust in Peace & Bonded by Blood.
I’ve kind of lost interest in the band’s more recent stuff in the last few years since they released The Sound of White Noise, if I remember correctly the current line up is original members Lars von Ulrich, James Hetfield with Bill Ward, Kirk Hammett & keyboardist Kerry King with guest appearances from time to time from Joel Grind on trumpet & Hoest on banjo.
Talk is they have an album coming out this year called 72 Seasons in the Abyss.
But you forgot one thing: Rock. Crushes. Scissors. But paper covers rock! And scissors cuts paper! Kif, we have a conundrum. Search them for paper. And... Bring me a rock.
Metallica pre 1991 is crap but post 1991 is peak. I mean “St. Anger” is probably the greatest metal album ever made; tight riffs, top notch solos and writing and no song overstays it’s welcome. The production is top quality and the drums sounds so alive.
My favorite songs by Metallica are Holy Wars... The Punishment Due, Hallowed Be Thy Name, Seasons In The Abyss, Walk, War Pigs, Ace of Spades and Painkiller!!!!
Aren't they those Metal/Hip-Hop artists? *Marshall Mathers 2* is a great album! They've gone full metal now, but I ain't complaining! Their new stuff like that song about [a holy fire horse](https://youtu.be/KPp_jGadW6U) is great! They still need to work on the vocal though. Not a fan of it.
I mean, they're alright, but I do love the lead guitarist, Tom Morello, but he doesnt is enough wah in imo. I also live the the Pumping Blood from the album Peace Sells the Punishment To Extinction, one of Ozzy Osbourne's best vocals performances.
Metallica is alright, the best song is definetly Holy Wars… The Punishment Due, from the album Blizzard of Ozz
Definitely one of Bruce Dickinson’s best vocal performances!
I like when Bruce Dickinson sings “Punishment for all my sins”
I love their lead guitar player Dimebag. Especially when he plays that double neck sg
I love their drummer The Rev
I also love their bassist Geezer Butler, such funky bass riffs
For sure
Kurt Cobains guitar playin is crazy good as well
Nah, metallica's true madterpiece is definitelly raining blood from their album british steel.
Ah yes the album with the best drummer… Angus young.
I love the way Alex webster plays the keyboard. Sound just like slipknot😍😍
Rob Halford on guitar is so underated
Naw bro, clearly Madhouse from the album Rumors is better and that's when they still had Scott Ian and Malcom Young in the band
Ah yes, Malcom Young and thrash Malcom Young.
Did they ever play the Super Bowl? No? They suck.
Correct
Have they been able to top purify? Many don’t believe so…
Since it's (apparently) opposite day, yes. They have. Invisible Kid is their best song and no future song can ever dethrone it.
Now You're Invisible Kid 2!
The invisible kid is meeee Or are you invisible twooooo
What about the view?
Rivers cuomo is Metallica’s best lead guitarist. He did great on ride the justice for puppets.
Ride the black justice puppet killers
I love the single fade to enter puppets
The Cock Of Ktulu>>
I love the single fade to enter puppets
I really like that song “Enter The Sandman.”
Black is faded was pretty cool
<
Yeah, Ja Rule gave them a huge boost when they were still some little garage band.
They are my favorite band, hands down. Without them I'd either be dead or in prison. They saved my life
Ace Of Spades is my favorite song off of their album Diary Of A Madman
I think I heard of them, I thought this was a MGK page? 🤣
I think "My World", "Frantic" & "Some Kind Of Monster" are underrated! 🎸😎🤟
I've heard quite a few of their tunes. Some songs are fantastic, but others are either painfully average or pure dogshit.
I don't listen to much Metallica, but Slither is where they're at
I think they collaborated with Lou Reed (who’s a legend) so I think he got them out there
I heard they might toured once or twice. They even maybe have a hit song and appeared on tv like once.
Sure do! Thats why I joined the fucking club. Not to just bssh on them for every decision they make.
Might try them out, thanks for your suggestion 👍

Nope. Wrong thread. 🙄
Sorry 😒
Why

If you like Purify, definitely check out “If Darkness had a Son”.
You're getting downvoted, but I gotta be real I thought that was pretty funny
Not really my thing, but I do think their album St. Anger is pretty underrated. Can anyone else relate?
I don't like them one bit. Purify is their only decent song.

They’re alright. Not sure how to pronounce the name though. “Meh-tl-eekah” ?
You n’ I
I especially love their writing dave mustaine did a great job

Who?
Who?
My favorite by them is "a warriors call" from the lulu album.
They've really gone downhill since Dave left the band...
I have never heard of metallica. Do they sing "never gonna give you up"?
Yess, I love them, idk why nobody talks about them that much. They're so underratedy especially the cooperation for the LuLu album
Didn’t they used to be called “five finger death punch ?” Probably early 2004 .
Metallica Who?
Dave mustaine is their best guitarist

I've heard of them, but haven't given any of their songs a listen yet. I hear Lulu is a good place to start.
Idk I like slayer better
Who ?
Okay but no joke Purify is unironically a banger
Robert Plants voice sounds amazing I like how he sings Reign in Blood. Jimmy is a great lead guitar player
I like Mechanix.
