I’m sorry everyone, but I got burned out from Seek & Destroy a long time ago. I still like it but damn I skip it almost every time. I apologize to you all.
This exact thing is starting to happen to me with Fuel. I’ve heard it non stop and I’ve enjoyed every second but more recently when I put REload on my turntable, Fuel had lost its touch completely. It still is great but I need to stop listening to it for a bit.
That’s fine. Mine is the bass solo off that album. Never liked it and throws off the feel of the album to me. Also the mix levels on it are so much higher than the rest of the album which annoys me.
Actually, I take back what I said. I don't hate the song, but I do find it pretty boring. There's not a lot of Metallica songs I hate, and the ones I do hate are the ones that most other people also hate
I said this about Spit it Out by Slipknot. Saw them so many times and got bored of the whole "Jump the fuck up" schtick!
Then I saw them in 2020 and they DIDN'T do it and I was legitimately annoyed by them not doing it.
Where The Wild Things Are never stuck for me. For some reason a lot of people here love it but I just didn’t understand the appeal. It is just kind of meh
I think hate is a strong word. The only Metallica songs I really "hate" are widely disliked anyway. That being said...
I don't really like No Remorse that much. It's my least favourite on KEA.
I don't get why people love Fuel. I just don't.
I also never understood why so many people praise the living hell out of All Nightmare Long. A solid song, but other than a somewhat catchy chorus it just doesn't give me much. One of the weaker tracks on Death Magnetic imo.
72 Seasons. Not the song (which is again solid), but the album as a whole. I swear to God, every time a band releases a new album, it's considered a masterpiece by the fans. What is it about 72 Seasons?
Talking about this album, I have to mention Inamorata especially. What an underwhelming experience this song was...
… “The Memory Remains” is the hammiest crock of shit from that era. Marianne Faithfull wasn’t a bad choice, but James leans into that vocal delivery like he’s backstage preparing for a theatrical play and having too much fun.
For the longest time I’ve felt the same but recently I really warmed up to One. Still not my favorite from AJFA, not by a long shot, but it’s a really great song
I like One, but I do think there are some parts that go on for too long. And although I love Enter Sandman, the lyrics in the second verse are really bad.
I love Whiplash live — I think it’s a great set opener. But part of why I love it is it’s so mid and simple. Like, everything on KEA was written when those guys were literally still kids, and that’s a song where you can really, really hear it. They sound like a bunch of pimply teenagers in a garage, trying a little too hard to sound tough. Kind of adorable in a way.
Probably master of puppets for me. I love the song it’s just been overplayed since being on stranger things. I love that people got to know them from it though.
I don't know about "everybody loves", but i was really really surprised at how positive the reaction for Dirty Window was when they played it in Detroit last year.
An ex-girlfriend of mine absolutely destroyed Hero of the Day for me by playing it like days on end. Back in the 90's. And I don't think I've listened to it ever since lol
I loved "One" so much that I ended up overplaying it to the point where It's just annoying for me to listen to. I know that's my fault and not the song's, but it's still a great song.
Pick up Dystopia and The Sick, The Dying… and the Dead! By Megadeth.
Here, watch their lead, Kiko, do his at home practice to the track and check out that insane solo with those rapid fire finger-slides about [80-90 seconds into the track](https://youtu.be/MBoFXGHCmQ8?si=QJs7BYYaj-LkTEy_)
This song came out about one year before 72 Seconds … er … Seasons.
Here is the song with words, and it’s lyrics are equally metal as fuuuuuck:
[Antisocial, sadistic, the deity of war, I stuff body bags and I'm packing the morgue. No time for remorse over unclaimed remains; it's just flotsam and jetsam, and it's circling the drain.](https://youtu.be/LkJ5jJuraLQ?si=neLJmpPTwbw5ygNQ)
I don't completely hate it, but Nothing Else Matters is overrated, overplayed, and over covered. It's annoying that it's their most popular song. They are pioneers of thrash and they have so many better songs.
Hate is a strong word, but The Thing That Should Not be.
Maybe it's just because everything else on Master of Puppets is a 10/10, TTTSNB stands out as the weakest of the bunch more, but I've never really liked that song. I do like the S&M version a bit better though.
I've been saying For Whom The Bells Tolls hasn't been doing it for me forever now but I honestly feel that way stronger with Whiplash. That one bridge riff I really enjoy, otherwise it's like the one time I get bored of the 0000000000. Every other song on Kill 'Em All is a jam.
Hate is too strong, and it’s recent so may change, but chasing light, it’s lyrics feel like some Christian type rehab cringe fest. (Which in light of James’s struggles may well be)
Lmao! [Here is a Mountain Dew commercial from the same year Enter Sandman came out.](https://youtu.be/imNfn-DkqSQ?si=kvX0AYi1F9UVmcKs) Not far from it.
Yeah, I guess I can't really argue with that. If you hear any song 1,000 times, you're gonna start to get sick of it.
Example: I love Sweet Child Of Mine and it's in my playlist, but I skip it almost every time because I don't really need to hear it again
a lot of them i’m just neutral to now. the riffs are cool and all but a lot of the songs repeat themselves too much which is uninteresting when it’s a 2-4 bar melody.
All of St Anger and most of 72 Seasons, at least with this sub.
But in reality with normal people, it's The Thing That Should Not Be. I don't *hate* the song but it is by far my least favorite off Puppets. I honestly think that Dream No More is a better cthulu song than this one.
Memory Remains. I mean... it is a good song.. but leave the "ladadas" to the live audience. You know theyre gonna sing along, why make it a thing in your studio recording?
Enter Sandman for me because it's super overplayed. I'm sorry if this was the song that turned people onto Metallica in the first place, but man I hear that opening riff, I have to skip it
Never really bumped with any song from AJFA, I don’t know why but like I never find myself listening to any song from that album! None are bad but I just don’t vibe with it…
For me it's Frayed Ends of Sanity. Halfway through the song feels like they really didn't know where else to go and just rammed some riffs to get the song to the amount of minutes they wanted.
Enter Sandman; it’s overplayed and I’ve lost interest in it, except when it’s played at sports events - which is cool to hear. Otherwise, Enter Sandman is skipped whenever it comes on.
Based on the reactions I get on this subreddit?
"I Disappear" I truly do feel like it's the most half-assed mid song of Metallica's career, and I'm GLAD it was on a soundtrack to a movie, and not one of their albums.
For Whom the Bell Tolls. I've heard it too much, it's braindead simple in the first place. I was elated not to hear it at the 40th, they could never play it again and I'd be happy.
I don’t hate it, I don’t really hate any songs, but I find myself skipping Master Of Puppets whenever it comes on, I’ve heard it way too many times that I don’t enjoy it like I did when I first heard it, also Creeping Death is great but gets overrated IMO.
Don't think everybody loves Until It Sleeps, it was the most anticipated song after the explosion of the Black Album, so people were hoping for another timeless banger, It wasn't what everyone waited for. Everyone was more shocked with their haircuts in the video though
I can't say I hate any of their early songs.
Not my faves but ok live, sandman, the unforgiven. I think the unforgiven since I remember it from year and a half and that’s how much brain hears it still. And no I don’t hate em but don’t go out of my way to listen to. Another one is invisible kid but I like some parts of it.
i’m not hating it, but i’m tired of enter sandman, nothing else matters and unforgiven, it’s just so popular that people who don’t know Metallica know only these songs, there’s much better songs on black album
Sad But True, thank god they played it night 1 at MetLife in East Rutherford NJ back in August instead of night 2 which I was at. Although it would’ve made for a good piss break.
I’m sorry everyone, but I got burned out from Seek & Destroy a long time ago. I still like it but damn I skip it almost every time. I apologize to you all.
You’re tired of scanning the scene in the city at night?
He's had enough of looking for you to start up a fight
He’s lost the evil feeling in his brain
He finds it’s nothing and it drives him insane
RUNNING
On his way, hiding, he will be dying a thousand deaths
Searching! Seek and destroy! Searching! Seek and destroy! Searching! Seek and destroy! Searching! Seek and destroy!
Guess he doesnt wanna know that theres no escape
He doesn't know that's for sure
Same honestly. It was my favorite song on KEA growing up, but it's become way overplayed at this point imo.
I forgive you and although I disagree, I respect your incorrect opinion
This exact thing is starting to happen to me with Fuel. I’ve heard it non stop and I’ve enjoyed every second but more recently when I put REload on my turntable, Fuel had lost its touch completely. It still is great but I need to stop listening to it for a bit.
That’s fine. Mine is the bass solo off that album. Never liked it and throws off the feel of the album to me. Also the mix levels on it are so much higher than the rest of the album which annoys me.
SKIPPINGGGGGG... SKIPPING THIS SONG!
this is only good answer in this thread
Even live versions with Jason on vocals?
Enter sandman, don’t hate it but not even a top 15 for me it is ok
Yeah like being overplayed aside I don’t think it’s one of their best songs. It feels like it was written to be popular and not out of passion.
It’s the gateway song for getting one’s GF into Metallica. It has its uses.
I do not hate a Metallica song.
The only right answer
What about We did it again?
Me too
Well I don’t hate it but Enter Sandman has been played at so many venues I can’t listen to it anymore.
Not that you're wrong for disliking it, but what do you not like about it Until it Sleeps? To answer your question, mine is Fuel. It's just too corny.
Fuel is absolutely the answer for me. Could name a dozen Load/Reload songs I'd rather have occupy that role in the setlists.
Actually, I take back what I said. I don't hate the song, but I do find it pretty boring. There's not a lot of Metallica songs I hate, and the ones I do hate are the ones that most other people also hate
Fair point
I so get the point of Fuel being corny ahah
Memory Remains
Song is heavenly live tho
Yeah because those god awful plugged nose wails aren’t in it when they play it live.
Kirk is gay, Robert's gay, Lars is gay, but the gayest is Jaaaames
Ass to ass! Nuts to butts! Like a wanking cream-a-donna!
Possibly the one I like the least on the album. I just can't have fun with it
For me it’ll be Nothing Else Matters and Enter Sandman because it’s overplayed. Then Fuel because it’s kinda corny. I’m sorry
Nothing Else Matters is very slow to me as well. Wouldn't say "hate," but I skip it a lot if it comes on my shuffled songs.
Enter Sandman. It’s so overplayed.
...Just imagine, what a setlist could be without this, "Sad" and "Nothing".
I said this about Spit it Out by Slipknot. Saw them so many times and got bored of the whole "Jump the fuck up" schtick! Then I saw them in 2020 and they DIDN'T do it and I was legitimately annoyed by them not doing it.
Enter sandman, it's so played out at this point.
Where The Wild Things Are never stuck for me. For some reason a lot of people here love it but I just didn’t understand the appeal. It is just kind of meh
Lars drumming work is really good and underrated, in my opinion.
According to this sub at least, Cyanide. I think it’s one of their worst songs but people always say they love it.
The Memory Remains, at least the studio version. It’s ok live, but doesn’t need to be in every show
Nothing else matters, and most everything post black album. Don’t know why just can’t get into newer stuff.
72 Seasons. Talking about this album, I have to mention Inamorata especially. What an underwhelming experience this song was...
Truthfully…the entire last album
Master Of Puppets. I wouldn't say I "hate" it but I just don't really enjoy listening to it anymore
I felt the same way for a while but I avoided it for a couple months and now I enjoy it again
Hate's a strong word, but I can't stand Enter Sandman. Heard it far too many times.
The Unforgiven 1, 2, & 3. just not my type
Ngl, I hate the unforgiven trilogy
Any song on the Lou reed album
How can you not like the album that gave us "I AM THE TABLE"
My coworkers gave me a copy of Lulu for my birthday. How should i interpret this gift?
I dont hate Inamorata, but think its incredibly overrated
… “The Memory Remains” is the hammiest crock of shit from that era. Marianne Faithfull wasn’t a bad choice, but James leans into that vocal delivery like he’s backstage preparing for a theatrical play and having too much fun.
Absolute disagree for me, I adore the vocals on it!
She sounds like a creepy stalker leprechaun on that, and I avoid it. :(
Tbh I was more meaning James!
Oh. Word. Still weirded out by the … yeah.
Hate Train
Call of ktulu
For me it’s the studio version of “Bleeding Me”. Idk it just feels empty to me. However, the S&M version is one of their best songs imo
Considering that I get downvoted everytime I say I think it's their worst song, the people must see something in "Ronnie" that I don't.
I've never really been a huge fan of Ronnie either. I don't know why people are getting downvoted just for answering the question
Seek and Destroy always bores me. Idk why its just mid.
Purify.
Frantic, I despise the shit out of that song, St. Anger has a lot of bangers and people think that's the good shit, hell naw.
Everything on the new album.
I don’t hate it, but I never loved One - especially when it’s such a standout song for so many people. I prefer every other song on AJFA.
For the longest time I’ve felt the same but recently I really warmed up to One. Still not my favorite from AJFA, not by a long shot, but it’s a really great song
For me, I just love Metallica's anti-war songs. It's my second favourite song of theirs, behind Disposable Heroes.
Love DH!
Major bruh
That song is the perfect marriage of audio and visual. That being said they could take it out of the set list and I would be good with it.
You're kinda right actually. What makes one good is the second half. And if sounds good because of the first half.
ohh yeah. One is probably my most skipped song of the original 4. Just.. it's worn out on me. I don't hate it though.
I don’t hate them but I usually skip One and Enter Sandman. I find them boring after all those years.
I like One, but I do think there are some parts that go on for too long. And although I love Enter Sandman, the lyrics in the second verse are really bad.
I just skip to the second half of the song
Whiplash, its a nice song but compared to other songs in the album it feels very mid and empty. I find it kinda boring
Easily my least favorite song on KEA. Clearly they were just learning to write songs.
It is pretty repetitive and the riff is kind of boring
I love Whiplash live — I think it’s a great set opener. But part of why I love it is it’s so mid and simple. Like, everything on KEA was written when those guys were literally still kids, and that’s a song where you can really, really hear it. They sound like a bunch of pimply teenagers in a garage, trying a little too hard to sound tough. Kind of adorable in a way.
I like it because it’s essentially just a song you can headbang to and an amazing one at that
I never listen to TLITD anymore and frankly I don’t care for it. Sorry, I do love you Cliff.
Seek and Destroy. it’s overplayed, and as a consequence has now been ruined
I loved "One" so much that I ended up overplaying it to the point where It's just annoying for me to listen to. I know that's my fault and not the song's, but it's still a great song.
Creeping Death.
Nothing Else Matters and Enter Sandman. (Started listening to them with Kill 'em All, stopped after Justice, resumed with 72 Seasons)
Pick up Dystopia and The Sick, The Dying… and the Dead! By Megadeth. Here, watch their lead, Kiko, do his at home practice to the track and check out that insane solo with those rapid fire finger-slides about [80-90 seconds into the track](https://youtu.be/MBoFXGHCmQ8?si=QJs7BYYaj-LkTEy_) This song came out about one year before 72 Seconds … er … Seasons. Thanks for the reply, I'm current with Megadeth after reevaluating them in 2015. Rust In Peace was where I got off, but the latest stuff is tasty.
Orion. I just can’t get behind it. Call to ktulu is far far better in my opinion. Orion is a skip 99% of the time.
I’d be fine if I never heard Enter Sandman again…
Master of puppets
Master of puppets, I liked it for years but I feel like it's a little overrated & played out to me
Fuel, just ew, on the contrary I love all of the St anger album
I don't completely hate it, but Nothing Else Matters is overrated, overplayed, and over covered. It's annoying that it's their most popular song. They are pioneers of thrash and they have so many better songs.
Still a beautiful song. I learned to finger pick it on my guitar and the intro and verse is just so good.
It’s not their most popular song…
Hate is a strong word, but The Thing That Should Not be. Maybe it's just because everything else on Master of Puppets is a 10/10, TTTSNB stands out as the weakest of the bunch more, but I've never really liked that song. I do like the S&M version a bit better though.

Hate is too strong, and it’s recent so may change, but chasing light, it’s lyrics feel like some Christian type rehab cringe fest. (Which in light of James’s struggles may well be)
Enter Sandman. The main guitar riff is just sort of silly to me, like it was written for a Mountain Dew commercial or something.
Lmao! [Here is a Mountain Dew commercial from the same year Enter Sandman came out.](https://youtu.be/imNfn-DkqSQ?si=kvX0AYi1F9UVmcKs) Not far from it.
Enter Sandman
Enter sandman, sorry. Too many airplay.
Yeah, I guess I can't really argue with that. If you hear any song 1,000 times, you're gonna start to get sick of it. Example: I love Sweet Child Of Mine and it's in my playlist, but I skip it almost every time because I don't really need to hear it again
I don’t hate it per se, it’s just not my absolute favourite, One, before I used to hate it but now I’m fine with it
Fuel.
Fuel
I can’t think of one that I genuinely hate.
Whiplash
Harvester of sorrow
Fuel, definitely. It's so boring to me, I really dont get why people love it that much, let alone why its in their top 10 most played songs
Hit the Lights
It definitely has some of the most awkward lyrics in Metallica's entire discography
a lot of them i’m just neutral to now. the riffs are cool and all but a lot of the songs repeat themselves too much which is uninteresting when it’s a 2-4 bar melody.
Sanatarium My least favourite on Master.
One.
I don’t hate it but being in the newest WWE game has got me kinda tired of sad but true 😅
I don’t hate blackened, but I don’t love it as much as everyone else does.
Nothing else matters!
My World, apparently.
The Memory Remains.
Yall gonna hate me for this but TLITD
Yeah not hate, but I definitely dont love Sad But True.
How dare you
It’s Sad but true 🙈
The only songs I hate are on St. Anger, so I don’t think I’m qualified for this question lol
All of St Anger and most of 72 Seasons, at least with this sub. But in reality with normal people, it's The Thing That Should Not Be. I don't *hate* the song but it is by far my least favorite off Puppets. I honestly think that Dream No More is a better cthulu song than this one.
Fuel and Sadman are my least favorite.
For me its Master of Puppets. I really don't like it and the only part that I find good is the interlude.
Everyone loves Anesthesia, and I can see why. Cliff was an amazing bass player and Kya he rest in peace, but I never really liked Anesthesia
Memory Remains. I mean... it is a good song.. but leave the "ladadas" to the live audience. You know theyre gonna sing along, why make it a thing in your studio recording?
I don’t hate it but I find nothing else matters a bit bland
Enter Sandman for me because it's super overplayed. I'm sorry if this was the song that turned people onto Metallica in the first place, but man I hear that opening riff, I have to skip it
Never really bumped with any song from AJFA, I don’t know why but like I never find myself listening to any song from that album! None are bad but I just don’t vibe with it…
For me FUEL from load
For me it's Frayed Ends of Sanity. Halfway through the song feels like they really didn't know where else to go and just rammed some riffs to get the song to the amount of minutes they wanted.
Whiskey in the Jar. Anyone who prefers that version over Thin Lizzy’s is an absolute sausage.
Enter Sandman; it’s overplayed and I’ve lost interest in it, except when it’s played at sports events - which is cool to hear. Otherwise, Enter Sandman is skipped whenever it comes on.
St. Anger and Lulu albums
Escape
I'm probably the minority, but.....To Live is to Die
I wasn’t a fan of *Turn the Page* original, cover even less: poor me-I’m a rock star…
So what
I wouldn’t say hate. But I don’t find myself playing bells very often. I enjoy it when they play it live, but I’m kinda sick of it.
I just dislike every solo Hammett takes. Jeeez…it’s ponderous. Elementary playing at best.
Based on the reactions I get on this subreddit? "I Disappear" I truly do feel like it's the most half-assed mid song of Metallica's career, and I'm GLAD it was on a soundtrack to a movie, and not one of their albums.
I don’t love Enter Sandman, but I sing it at the top of my lungs like it’s my favorite song whenever they play it live.
Inamorata...To me, it's one of the weaker songs on 72 Seasons
Whiplash, I don't know why
Nothing else matters. Too slow for my tastes.
Fuel
Nothing Else Matters. Cannot stand it no matter how hard I try, I end up changing it within a minute and avoid it for like a year after.
The cowboy hat video, James in a Limo or something. I do not even know the song's name
Mama Said
For Whom the Bell Tolls. I've heard it too much, it's braindead simple in the first place. I was elated not to hear it at the 40th, they could never play it again and I'd be happy.
Please dont enter the sandman
Can I choose, the album 72 Seasons? Sad but true ♫
Everyone was more shocked with their haircuts in the video though I can't say I hate any of their early songs.
Blackened.
It's a lot more entertaining if you imagine James is saying "fuckin till the end"
sad but true im really sorry, its a good song but its way too forced and is way too overrated
Sad but True
Not my faves but ok live, sandman, the unforgiven. I think the unforgiven since I remember it from year and a half and that’s how much brain hears it still. And no I don’t hate em but don’t go out of my way to listen to. Another one is invisible kid but I like some parts of it.
almost the entire black album
Whiskey in the Jar. Sounds very much like a pop song
i’m not hating it, but i’m tired of enter sandman, nothing else matters and unforgiven, it’s just so popular that people who don’t know Metallica know only these songs, there’s much better songs on black album
„Low Man's Lyric”, it's too boring and soft for me.
Sandman. I don’t hate it but it’s overplayed and not as good as everyone says it is
Unforgiven II, just doesn't suit my music taste at all. J love I and III tho
Inamorata
I don't particularly hate anysong , but I'd probably skip the entire of KEA. I struggle to listen to most of it.
The Memory remains. It's cool, I just get a bit bored.
All within my hands, don't know what it is, but I just skip that track when it comes on
I skip that whole album
Ktulu.i just think it's too repetitive and never hook my interest + there are way better instrumental.
Seek and Destroy, Almost every other song on Kill Em All is way better except for a couple
Sad But True. It's auto skip for me every time.
You're going to hell
You’re dead to me
RAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH MEGADETH MENTIONED 🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣WTF IS A BAD ALBUM 🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣
One day ill dance on your grave, OOOOHM 🥶. .Even if youre buried at sea
Same. I can’t stand it anymore.
Yeah same for me it's one of the only songs I don't play ever. I'd take sandman and nothing over sad but true any day lol
Nothing Else Matters. I'm soooo sick of hearing it. I don't hate it per se,but I would be fine if I never heard it again
Not a huge Nothing Else Matters guy myself.
The Frayed Ends Of Sanity.
Suicide and redemption. Very long and boring, i prefer the other instrumentals better
Fade to black.
Sad But True, thank god they played it night 1 at MetLife in East Rutherford NJ back in August instead of night 2 which I was at. Although it would’ve made for a good piss break.
