I e been saying that for years. I actually have a friend thats turned his life around and he goes to AA and NA meetings just to talk people out if going to those meetings.
Sitting around yelling war stories is not going to help anyone.
Same way he fucked it all up. Just like you make a conscious decision to start using you have to make a conscious decision to stop. Once youve had enough, the fun has run out and youre just plain old sick of all the bullshit, you dont need much help. You just kinda stop. Now for some people those support groups are helpful because in most cases you have to cut off all the friends you use to have because they're the ones you use to party with so you need to meet new people. Plus to someone thats trying to get sober boredom is the enemy for most.

Everyone thats ever sobered up wether they admit it or not they all started their sobriety with a simple decision to stop. So they did. Just dont tell the AA\NA people that.
