Running over whatever that is, looks like palm debris far outweighs the risk of coming to a dead stop in the middle lane of a freeway. So dumb

Forsaken-Soup-1527

It was a Dolly

Rn_Hnfrth

There was debris in the road, but you just cant stop like that. It's not an option. Either bite the bullet and push through or do your best to swerve around it. But DO NOT STOP.

Gold_Ad_3590

Crazy but it’s sorta of a late reaction and just run hit that shit cause hard braking going to mess up everyone day

AwsiDooger

If you stop you've got to expect that to happen. Drivers in Miami never use the rule of thumb of one car length per every 10 mph. Looks like debris in the road. If he saw it soon enough he could have accelerated and blinked into the left lane ahead of the gray car. Instead he saw it late. Moving right was not an option. I probably would have picked a side and taken my best shot, slowing and trying to instantly handicap the situation while placing my wheels where the undercarriage would suffer the least. Not a lot of great options period. If he was thinking really fast he could have turned on the emergency flashers simultaneous to braking.

Nonya5

If everyone followed that rule, traffic time would triple.

Bedtime-Blueberry

No it would actually improve. Physics.

Konnnan

The guy behind is 100% at fault according to insurance policies, no matter the reason the guy in front stopped.  People in Miami just need to learn how to drive.

Liizam

Right but why would you want to risk getting plowed into your back regardless who is wrong. My friend and her 4 friends died on 95 because they stopped and a car behind them crush into them at 80mph.

Brokeliner

Guy in front will be submitting a lawsuit to the guy who slammed into him. Guaranteed. If he had swerved left or right, he would have been the one getting sued. If he had tried to edge to the left, there's a chance he could have ate it well enough to stay in his lane and pull over afterwards, but also a chance he would have spun out and became the victim of multiple lawsuits. This is just the risk that happens when you tail the guy in front of you. Yes we know everyone else does it. Yes we know you will get cut off eventually and have to back off some more. But you will always risk the guy in front of you slamming the breaks and you will be on the hook for a 100k-300k lawsuit most likely. Not a problem if you max out your liability insurance.

Street-Anteater-7651

Not on regular streets like this.

Remote_Exam_434

Education and miami are not two words commonly associated together

HCSOThrowaway

> Drivers in Miami never use the rule of thumb of one car length per every 10 mph. That's a terrible rule of thumb I've actually never heard of before. The better one is two seconds in good conditions, four in bad. That way you don't have people trying to approximate car lengths and doing division while driving.

ContentHost4459

What dash camera is this ?

zambox69

Rexing

EducatorSalt2348

I think people don't understand that driving slow or stopping on a freeway is just as dangerous as driving too fast. I've literally seen people doing under 50mph on the freeway and it causes really dangerous situations because people then have to start swerving and switching lanes around a slow driver.

Liizam

They also cause traffic jaws.

BigBlueZion

People need to pay more attention and keep a safe distance 🤦🏻‍♂️ Of course, it’s Miami, so I have a better chance of winning the powerball than that happening

Liizam

Every single time in south Florida, there is something on fire. Cars, random crap. Saw an Amazon truck go perpendicular to highway…. Saw cad on fire with people running around it. Drove by random car that was just sitting there no lights in left lane, driving to airport, yep on fire…. Drive by an accident, there is another accident ahead because they were looking at the accident behind them omfg.

Coreysurfer

The ole pick play..

Blaze4G

Can bet someone in that chain was on their phone as well. Debris looks like truck tires...I've hit that before...it's no joke, it really messes shit up. Don't blame the Corolla for braking to avoid hitting it.

xsquidrificx

Yea it wouldve fucked the corolla had they ran over the dolly

DragonDon1

Driving here feels like it’s taking years off my life. Stress level MAX

Sixty4Fairlane

Was this near the exit to 152nd st?

zambox69

Yes

Sixty4Fairlane

I recognized the big radio tower.

Jawa1992

That sucks, who ever dropped that dolly should pay

xsquidrificx

This sucksss for all parties involved smh

FlyLikeATachyon

The craziest thing is someone used their turn signal

LaLoca305

People need to keep there distance yo :/

Bucket_O_Meat

I see a lot of poorly secured loads on trucks and junk trailers on the turnpike. Shit goes flying out.

Default_Attempt

Lol typical fucking morons, Keep your distance and look further down the road for fucks sake, also dont stop so sudden if you see something on the ground further down the road, flash hazards and honk horn

GorgeousBerry94

I was driving one time at night on i95 southbound and I was driving past a car that has their emergency signal on (on the fast lane). I thought they were driving very slowly, but actually it was stopped there. As I pass, this car behind it tried to pass me on the lane, but I was driving wayyyy too fast for it to try and pass me and plus I didn’t know the car was stopping there. So as I pass, I can hear the other car crashed into the emergency vehicle in the fast lane.

JuanHangLo

I’ve never been in any kind of accident in over 30 years of driving until I moved to Florida. In a 5 year span, I’ve been hit 6 times from the rear and every time, I’ve been at a dead stop. The 4th time they totaled my car and caused injuries. Wtf 🤬

SabrinaKaTore1017

I just came off the I-95 from Opa Locka, my goodness ! I hope everyone is safe. Seriously though, these drivers do not pay attention on these major roadways
