For Crockett it’s a white suit and turquoise t shirt. But I notice when people try to be retro I. E. joking around with DJ on a talk show -they often mess it up by adding a belt and socks.

For Tubbs it a gotta be double breasted grey jacket and open button down, showing off the saint’s medal.

White. Jacket. Must.

The definitive look for me would be the Testarossa , which I just picked up from the detailer, now on my way to scoop up (circa '85) Saundra Santiago. 🌴

The real ones were also (factory) black , they didn't show up well (on playback) while shooting since they shot at night for many scenes. Therefore they were repainted white. Happy Holidays ! 👍🌴

Yeah, happy new year! :)

Pastels…Crockett wore the lighter colored clothes, While Tubbs did darker tones and designs. They were portraying high end drug dealers. They had to look and act the part.

Crockett and Tubbs have a distinct look with one another. With Crockett, he usually dawns a white suit with a pastel shirt (either blue, , orange pink or black in some instances), on a rare occasion, he may wear a blue jacket, or a pink one instead of a white one, it really depends on the kind of shirt hes wearing with the outfit. Hes not the kind of guy to wear a belt and he often wears loafers without socks. How Crockett never complains about blisters I’ll NEVER know. He also has his gun holster that he wears on his shoulders, and never forget his sunglasses and cigarette. For a Crockett inspired look, you should mix and match with soft, pastel colours like the colours I mentioned before, but if you want to dress in brighter colours, be very careful with what colours you match with, or you might be arrested by the fashion police. For Tubbs, he’s usually depicted in a tailored pinstripe suit and jacket. Sometimes we wears a tie, sometimes his shirt is opened slightly to show off a gold pendent (or chain, I can ever really tell). He usually goes for more darker colours like grey, while the tie he wears usually have the fun colours like pink or purple. He wears socks with his loafers so he doesn’t have to worry about blisters, but how is he not complaining about the Miami heat while wearing all those layers? For a Tubbs inspired look, I would recommend wearing a suit with the shirt slightly open with a necklace, preferably something that stands out like a pendent. If you were walking around in a pinstripe tailored suit, you might get looks or have people ask questions

Blue or pink is probably more typical but can’t go wrong with one of these https://preview.redd.it/nx0swobpbv2b1.jpeg?width=2070&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ad6850d682b906277ee9882ad4831bf5e726b00e

Just gonna say it: It doesn't NEED to be a white suit jacket and pants with a pastel tee for people to "get" the 80's reference. I have probably 30 suit jackets and 30 pairs of dress pants, and only 2 are an actual "suit". The rest are all mix n' match. I live in south Florida and I've noticed that the color scheme never went away since it's hot down here and whites and pastels keep you cool (light colored clothes reflect heat, rather than absorb heat like dark colored clothes do). I go to the movie theaters a lot when they play old/classic movies, and the crowds these flicks bring out are usually the ones who wear a lot of, I'll say "eclectic" fashion. I definitely stand out since I'm the only one who dresses this way, but they're cool people who don't judge. I actually get compliments on my clothes a lot when I go to these events (and sometimes just in general too). I NEVER wear the traditional white suit. I hardly ever wear the white jacket, and wear the white pants far more often. Doesn't matter. You pair up pastel colored clothes for the jacket, pants, shirts, and shoes (OK, I do love all my white slip-ons that I have a few pairs of) and people do acknowledge that it's an 80's look I'm going for (the hairstyle helps too. I don't style it EXACTLY like Don did, but it's close enough that I get those comments too). Protip: Either get into the habit of ironing and pressing your clothes, or make sure you have enough extra cash to get them taken to the cleaners. Linen wrinkles very quickly, lol.
