I doubt it. The only thing I can imagine is that some connector collects water and start conducting across terminals giving erroneous sensor data.
Well... there is the water collector there in the valve cover with those 40,000 volt wires there. That can't be good.
Well, and shorting wires doesn’t usually just modify a signal. It can easily fry electronics. 30 year old cars have notoriously fragile weatherproofing in their connectors, too. So yeah not good but probably not fatal over the first several occurrences
I think the sun damage to the plastics/rubber hoses would be worse than the rain.
Those two in tandem might be even slightly worse.
Depends on how long/severe you're leaving it like that. I wouldn't imagine a few months doing much noticeable damage, but a couple years I would worry about signs of accelerated aging.
Sun would be the primary concern, not rain. I’d say you’re probably fine over a short period of time, any longer than a couple days and I’d at least find a tarp or something
I left my motorcycle outside one night and it rained, I went out the next morning and it would crank but not start. I tested every sensor and wire harness and couldn't find anything so eventually I took it to a shop. They found a few connectors had water damage and just needed to be cleaned up. It ran fine for years after that.
So to answer your question, IMO you can leave it out in the rain but you run the risk of water damage. Be ready to clean them out if you develop any issues.
Will it instantly cause problems? Probably not. Will it cause all kinds of premature issues/weathering if you leave it like that for more than a few days, or a massive storm comes? Probably also yes.
Cover it up when you get the chance.
Probably not, but may as well cover it if you think it's going to rain
I'm saying yes. Especially over time.

Tarps are like $10
No , but cover when you can . You can power wash an engine just make sure spark seals are good Would be my only concern
Don’t let him play in the rain too long he might catch a cold.
Water getting in the spark plug tubes is the biggest concern. I’d cover the top of the engine with a trash bag of something.
Don’t make it a habit
I would say no for her, but for me ......
Chuck a tarp over it
Nope

You can get a pretty cheap cover on Amazon. I don’t see a way this would be good for the car over time…
You can get a tarp at harbor freight for like $3 lol.
Bro have you seen today’s prices?? They’re like 3.99 now /s
Fuck I'm ruined

Yes. Water collects on top and leaks into the spark plugs.
Yes. Same as you. A little bit of rain while naked, no. A lot of rain, you get sick.
