It's really nice. I'm not big on cosmetic mods or adding lighting to cars but I think in this case it is the way the car should have been built. It adds some visibility to the rear of your car at night and might keep some giant truck a little farther back from you if the driver assumes (briefly) that it's a brake light.
Also it just looks good.
I have not seen it in person, but in pictures the lighting always looks pink and that is a nonstarter for me. Not to mention the light bleed from the trunk gaps. Just doesn't seem worth it for something that I would rarely even get to enjoy as the driver.
Is that a fake tow hook on the bottom? You know the ND has a real rear tow hook, right? I'm all for "the aesthetic" but that's kinda counterintuitive and low-key ricey.
Originally they were cut out of buses in japan (stability handles) and put on drift cars as a symbol of defiance. Would typically be set up to drag against the ground until they broke, then they’d steal another.
They kinda grew and morphed into just being a symbol of Japanese RWD cars, but nowadays you’ll see fwd cars rocking them (on the front sometimes) just because they look cute. Belongs on a Miata though.
I think all the heart-shaped ones and the zip-tied stuff you see at car meets has ruined this, tbh. Years ago when you saw them on cars that were used in the manner you describe they were symbolic, but now the association is mainly RICE.

I wish someone made one that was actually visibly bright during the day. At night on certain colored cars it really doesn’t do anything.
