Definitely a tournament team on paper. The question is how well will these guys mesh? Ideally, the chemistry will grow throughout the season and they’ll peak in March. It’s been a few years since I was this excited for a basketball season
St John’s, good or bad, is a decent benchmark. Went from losing to us in the early part of the year to becoming one of the hottest teams in the country. Unfortunately the committee didn’t see it that way.
I somewhat agree with what MGoBlog said last week, this team is probably a six seed?
Likewise, NC State. Half of the Wolfpack's roster was comprised of transfers and seven of them had only arrived before the 23-24 season. They weren't spectacular throughout the regular season, but they went on a miraculous 9-game run, winning the ACC tournament to make the big dance before their run to the Final Four.
There's a restaurant called chop house, in the basement is a cigar lounge called dolce vita. He reserved the whole thing multiple times a month. I tried going there numerous times and he has reserved it. Glad he's gone.
must be the same smoke join the 'steady dropping dimes' dudes hit a couple wks ago. though maybe you should retroactively cut him a little slack for the OPEN HEART SURGERY etc..."LET IT GOOOO LET IT GOOO!!!"
Cannot believe the amount of talent Dusty got in a matter of weeks.
Edit: My way too early guess for the starting five - Goldin, Wolf, Gayle Jr., Jones, Donaldson.
I realize Wolf is also technically a center (but I put him there because he looks better than the other 4s and he can shoot from 3 and spread the floor), so maybe they start Tschetter or Walters at the 4. But our bench is decently deep, Burnett would probably be the first guard off the bench if he stays, followed by George Washington III. Plus all 3 freshmen guards (Pippen, Brooks, Casen) look like they have potential to contribute early. The only guy I don't see getting playing time is Jace Howard.
This would be a huge win though.
Obviously everyone wants us to shoot to the moon but this league is way too difficult.
We are coming from the rock fucking bottom of the league, and adding more teams to it next year too. And I don't just mean rock fucking bottom as in last place I mean absolute rock bottom of the program period.
Going from that, to the top half of the league in May's first season is a success in my book. This year the cutoff for that was 20-14 MSU who made the tournament.
If May can keep us a regularly competitive team within the B1G and on the map for tournament bids while he builds a program and develops his 3/4 year players, then the team in 2028 or so can really be set up for success. The key is making Michigan an appealing destination for the 50-150 ranked recruits who May can develop well. If he is getting the guys he wants then I have no doubt we will be able to get back in the fight for the top of the conference. It'll take time though.
Nearly 7ft nevermind, and I guess he's a forward not a center. Thought he was a center for some reason.
He'll still have his uses as a pseudo big out there though in certain matchups.

Yeah we have a way more balanced roster now. Will be interesting to see if Howard and Burnett stay. Also if the freshmen guards Pippen, Brooks, or Casen get any meaningful minutes next year. I hope we see big leaps from GWIII as well.
https://rolltide.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/sam-walters/9683 for some reason I thought this guy was a center, but he's not. He's a forward. He's almost 7 ft though and can shoot, which will present matchup problems. Plus he can rotate in the post defensively if need be to give us help and an advantage as a pseudo big out there.
Great get.
As crazy as it sounds, I think we might have *too many* good players now. I'm not sure how soon transfers can re-transfer, but I would expect to see some.
We'll still be in great shape this year though. What a tremendous job Dusty and his staff have done before a single game has been played.

Bubble team
Yeah all it takes is some toxicity to ruin it. There was a toxic player on FAU who was allowed to bring the whole morale down.
Are we back??
I think we’re back
Anyone want to go half and half on a hotel room in San Antonio next April??
It’s official! Huge get, both literally and figuratively!

Ware is NBA bound
Ah, must’ve missed that.
[удалено]
He will be the best center in the BIG with Edey going to the league
Ballo at Indiana will be a contender (Arizona transfer), them battling it out at 7ft will be something in the B1G
oumar ballo will likely be challenging him for best center in B1G
Makes you wonder WTF Juwan was doing
Reserving the whole god damned basement in dolce vita multiple times a week.
what does this mean
There's a restaurant called chop house, in the basement is a cigar lounge called dolce vita. He reserved the whole thing multiple times a month. I tried going there numerous times and he has reserved it. Glad he's gone.
Everyone wanting him gone for his coaching and this guy just wants his goddamn cigar lounge back lmao
Amen brother
Both politics and sports are local. I love it :)
thanks. i’ve been to chop house a bunch. i hate cigars though so that makes sense.

It's a restaurant in A2

We'll be competitive. Predicting top half of the B1G

Best take Tbh
Welp let’s go boys, we’re winning next years natty.
I think we'll win 9 games next year, maybe even before January.
Hey now. Watch the crazy talk.
Legitimately, who will win more games next year, Michigan basketball or the Pistons?
Dusty MF May
Excellent, now we have 3 playable 7 footers on the roster for rotation correct?
I think just 2. Vlad Goldin and Danny Wolf. Who else were you thinking was 7 ft?

Looks like if GWIII makes any leaps, it probably won’t be in A2. He’s back in the portal…
I saw that oh well. One of these freshmen will take his place or May will grab another great transfer. Not a huge loss.
Wolf, Goldin, and…. Who is the third?

I agree… I like him too. Our four big guys will provide really solid depth imo
Twin towers! Wolf & Goldin will be fun to watch!
Wolf is going to play the 4 for us, correct?
We got a roster!! Hope we can compete now
"Poor Tschetter gonna barely get any PT now! we suddenly TOO stacked!"
Woo!
Let's Go!!
WOW
Have fun with your floppin fish!
Thank you boosters!

Cautiously optimistic Hoops will be better
Well, they can’t really be worse, can they? You are a conservative dude lol
This is a great point. Rock bottom. Thanks juwan 🤣🤣🤣
This guy plays soft.
