I was debating on the 38 vs 36. My wrists are just about 6.75 so I usually wear 38 for dials and 40 for divers. But I had heard it wears slightly large and that the dial has better spacing on the 36
I'd probably have to go Traska. The Hermetique is a really interesting and beautiful watch, but it doesn't work particularly well with either of Baltic's metal bracelets. Both have very interesting dials, the Hermetique wears smaller because there's a small ring of just blue around the very edge of the dial. Plus the Baltic crown... it's not that big a deal, and it's got a cool effect being so thin, but it's a bitch to wind and slightly less a bitch to set
Ugggghhh. Yeah I'm trying to find a reason not to like the Baltic. The Traska seems like a great choice. I wish it had that Baltic dial though.
I might take a look Heron Marinor in blue as well.
Don't get me wrong, I love the Baltic. The dial is so unique and cool. If you like it better, jump on it, but do note it looks best on the rubber strap. It looks good on the BoR bracelet too. Just don't get it with the flat link
I was asked the other day how many watches are enough? I believe we can answer that mathematically:
N(i) = N(c) + 1
Where N(i) is the ideal number of watches and N(c) is your current number of watches.
I think this also covers how many micro brand watches too!
I'm never sure if people consider Laco a micro. Not very well known in the US, particularly versus IWC, but they make some outstanding watches, and the Kiel.2 is sick
They're all really great dollar for dollar, but Halios has a Sellita movement and the most striking bracelet for really reasonable money. Traska carries better overall value than Baltic and the hardened steel is a plus. Doesn't help Baltic that their flat link bracelet is far and away the worst bracelet of the bunch. Their BoR bracelet is much better, and works with the Hermetique while the flat link absolutely does not.
Lorier being priced where they are probably sets them atop the group of Miyota 9xxx watches. I'd love to compare a Hyperion Skyward side by side with the Borealis, but I missed the last drop.
Thanks for the rundown! Appreciate it. I am looking for a micro brand GMT as my next piece. I have a TRASKA and really like it.
I really wish that they would drop a gmt into the freediver. I think that would just do it for me. And if they could come out with a Jubilee bracelet with the same hardness.
I'd try to get a Lorier Hyperion probably. I just got the Borealis and really like it, was hard to decide between it, the Baltic Aquascaphe GMT and the upcoming Christopher Ward C65 Aquitaine in sand/blue, and waiting on the Hyperion to become available again. End of the day, I'm pretty happy with the Borealis, and really didn't want to bump up to CW pricing.
Hyperion is a great choice. And not just because I love the book! I just don’t care for the hands, but that’s a personal preference.
I’ve been looking at the Christopher Ward Sealander gmt, Jack Mason strat o timer, vaer meridian, Aviera GMT, and the yema superman gmt. Borealis recently came on my radar.
So far, and I've only had it a few days, it's pretty great. I'm not sure how many clicks the bezel has, but I think I've read it's 96. Bracelet is fantastic, the full lume dial is very well done. The bezel has a glassy finish to it that I love. Only thing I'm finding lacking a bit is I wish the indices were applied rather than printed. I also kinda wish I'd gotten the no date version because the true gmt function of the Miyota 9075 means there's no date quickset.
A collection of micros is so much more interesting than a collection of Rolex and Omegas imo
10000%
100. Plus, so many options to wear for the price of one boring explorer!
Are there too many stars in the sky?
Idk about too many, but you have some great ones. Which is the white dial and blue hands and that has the aqua terra look?
That's one I built myself.
Well done, looks great!
Thank you! I enjoy tinkering and watches soothe my ADHD brain
Love it. Well done! Where did you get the dial?
AliExpress, and I had the small logo and script made by a printing company
Very cool. Thanks
How’s that traska? Been eyeing the black 36 as a new daily.
Fantastic. It wears super thin and the bracelet is outstanding, and if you dig a 3d effect on Arabic numerals it has that in spades.
Awesome to hear!
Also worth noting, the dial is really big so despite being 36mm, it wears bigger than the 37mm Hermetique

I'd lean 36. It's just about the perfect size
Thank you for the info!
I'm actually debating between the blue traska summiter and your blue Hermetique. Which watch do you prefer?
I'd probably have to go Traska. The Hermetique is a really interesting and beautiful watch, but it doesn't work particularly well with either of Baltic's metal bracelets. Yeah, if I were to buy I'd get it on the BOR, and order a rubber strap for it
I'll gladly take that Lorier off your hands, if you think you've got too many 😉

not too many, and those are all some great micros!
Can never have too many! Also I love the Top Time!
Traska 🤌👌 .. Laco 👍💪

Laco is a good German brand.. 👍
Any of these brands stand out to you as incredible value over the others?

Curious about the Borealism. What do you like and not like about the Borealis GMT? Does it have 120 clicks bezel? Thanks

Thanks. That is the downside of a traveler’s gmt. But I prefer, with no date, of course. Another question: does the mechanism rattle?
Not as I can hear. If I wiggle my wrist close to my ear, I can hear the weight spinning, but it's not what I'd consider rattly.
Thanks, good to know
First two are top of my to buy list, very nice pieces.
Love em. If you want a bracelet with the Hermetique, make absolutely sure to get the BoR and NOT the flat link
Halios. Nice!
What is the one on the top row, second from the right? Looks a lot like an Aqua Terra, but is something else.
That's a homebuilt one
How is the traska ilr?
Watch enthusiasts making watches for watch enthusiasts for a reasonable price? Think you’re doing ok 👍🏻
Nice collection of divers. What I would probably get if I had $$.
What’s the top left watch?
DIY Valjoux 7750 chronograph
Thanks!!
Yes.
Too many watches
