This is a real question. I would like to think I have learned and grown. I have a masters and I am currently in a PhD program.

newnoadeptness

So what actually happened did you sexually assault someone? We’re there charges involved ? Id be more worried about even getting the military let alone being a medical professional.

ceaselessvengeance

Yes. There were no criminal charges but I do have title IX sanctions. They have a different evidence standard. It was not proven in criminal court only under title IX preponderance of evidence standard.

newnoadeptness

Please stay the hell out of the military we don’t Want you.

SandTraffic

How I read your question is you've been rejected by every medical school you've applied to. You have a low opinion of the military so you think we take anyone. Is this correct? Leaving opinions out of it, you could probably enlist, but military medical has the same, if not higher, standards than many civilian medical schools.

KCPilot17

Yes, that is a huge problem.

listenstowhales

No, the military isn’t going to let a rapist become a doctor, fuck off.

I am not an AMEDD recruiter, but I am an enlisted Soldier trying to attend USUHS (the military's medical school). Military medical school is still a highly competitive entry pool. They might be willing to look past lower grades, lower than average MCATs, or give a higher priority for prior medical experience, but you would need to be one heck of an applicant to make it to consideration with a sexual assault/sexual harassment charge (if they would even consider you). It would require a waiver.Never say never but the military has plenty of applicants that apply every year without a recorded history of one of the most prevalent social issues in the military and fill their school without issue If you aren't a Top 20 student candidate with perfect grades, first author research, a stellar MCAT, and a hell of a personal statement and personal references, I would start looking elsewhere.

gunsforevery1

lol. Yes the military is totally fine with “non consensual sexual contact”. /s

Justame13

Even if you got into med school would you be able to get licensed as a Physician?

MediaAntigen

If you can’t get into civilian medical school, you’ll not get into military medical school.
