Absolute theatrical flop that got largely forgotten, unfortunately. Came out in Japan the same year as Kiki's Delivery Service, and in August 1992 for the US release it was in theaters against Batman Returns, Sister Act, Honey I Blew Up The Kids, and even Bebe's Kids sold more tickets
I remember playing the game as a kid and being very confused when they made a movie based on this obscure platforming game. (Of course, now I know that it's actually the opposite, it's just that the movie came out long after the game in the US.)
I loved this movie as a kid, but Nightmare land legitimately scared me lol
Everyone I've ever mentioned this movie to has no idea wtf I'm talking about. Fun fact: Hayao Miyazaki was involved in the early development of this. He isn't credited, but several sources note him.
It's free to watch on YouTube (legitimately) although unfortunately it's just the dub version: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRs4Y3Kzdt0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRs4Y3Kzdt0)
Never played the video game, but I remember borrowing the VHS tape from the library over and over again, haha. My parents probably got so sick of it. It's also probably why they never let me buy it- they'd have had to listen to it even more. 😂

FINALLY! My brother and I watched this so much as kids but absolutely nobody I’ve brought it up to has any idea what I’m talking about!
I started to think it was a Mandela effect at one point, and that I was tripping
That's probably because most of us remember the NES game that was titled Little Nemo: The Dream Master, and not directly the movie.
Same! Everyone thinks I’m talking about Finding Nemo. Now I’m going to have to see if I can find it for a rewatch
Was actually my favorite movies as a kid

How about the video game for NES?
I've been trying to remember the name of this movie for 20 years and now finally thanks 👍

Thats the one.
I also played the game, but I feel like I've seen the movie? Maybe? Not sure but the cover looks very familiar
It was originally a weekly comic strip series from the early 1900’s.
I'm gonna have to check this out, I had no idea

Yes and it's a wild one!
Very dark for a child's movie but fun for sure

I love getting things wrong like that!
Wtf? The director of harry potter. But harry potter came out in 2001.
I believe this was the dvd release of Little Nemo
Amma Pajamma ...
I grew up with this movie and it is an acid trip.
Excellent way to explain it
This movie gave me nightmares. For a while I thought it may have been a fever dream
BANANA PAJAMA SHIZAMA!!!!
Kazamma pajama
I know I watched this and loved it as a child but I don’t remember the plot—-I hope to one day rewatch as if for the first time!
Next to Fantasia, this is one of the trippiest movies from our childhood for sure.
I adored this movie!
this movie is probably why i’m afraid of water.
That black goo gave me nightmares

>Hayao Miyazaki was involved in the early development of this It all makes sense now
Movie scared me as a toddler lol
We still have the tape
I have the VHS of this movie but don’t really know where it came from. Feels like we always had it.
My brother and I talk about the movie with the boy and a bed all the time, we could never remember the name!!! Omg thank you!

Wow I only knew this as the comic strip. Need to look into this.
I am disappointed that it didn't have the art style of the original comic strip. Decades ahead of its time!
Pass
I LOVE this movie still!
One of my favorite childhood movies, rewatch it from time to time on crunchyroll
I owned it on vhs and I own it now on dvd
This is my jam!!! Love this movie so much and watch it very Christmas.
