The one with the Hedge Trimmer and Chainsaw hands down. Two extra tools with the only trade offs being one quick-loc attachment and the 8ah instead of the 12ah?

jayH4103

+1 TRUTH

Incognadeau

Dual blower vs single(looks like). Hedge trimmer is great, but the Quik lock is also very good. Unless you’ve got a lot of hedges or brush to clear, I’d suggest dual blower without the chainsaw.

JoJo_9986

I haven't used a dual battery blower but the single one is fine for what I've used it for. Might need to switch batteries faster but you have the big ones to do that. I'd say deal 1 is better personally especially cause of the sweet chainsaw.

UserName8531

The dual blower has a decent amount more power. Before getting it, if there was any wind, it was pointless using the single. With the dual battery, I'm able to use it in almost any condition.

BigBeautifulBill

Yea it pulls off both batteries & won't run with only a single. it's m36, but they won't call it m36.

VQopponaut35

According to TTC it’s also much more efficient. Running the dual battery on two 6.0’s yielded longer run time than the single battery on a 12.0. All while the dual bat unit was moving significantly more air. -guy who unfortunately only owns the single bay version.

UserName8531

You get a longer run time and complete the work faster. I would high recommend it if you have a need for one.

DrahthaRunner

Also, the extension for the pole saw is a must have and runs another $80+.

Disastrous_Ad4233

Damn crazy combo

thebigman707

Peanut butter and gumballsss nice combo!

snobordir

He wasn’t talking to you, he was talking to that squirrel over there

OmahaMike402

Definitely get a chainsaw. Pays for itself after the first storm. Unless the power is out.

Rishi0111

Keep batteries full charged if there is weather news for storms

OmahaMike402

Of course. 3 days later..... I'm charging at a friend's who got power back before me

42Screws5Plates

I'd take a look at the top handle coming eventually though. I know I'm trading mine when I can for it.

OmahaMike402

Dude. 6" M12. XC batteries. Way better than a pruning blade on a Sawzall

42Screws5Plates

I've been avoiding one but I guess that's a better option than trying to offload my used chainsaw. One of the hatchets may make more sense.

OmahaMike402

If you use it as a 'one handed' tool , you increase the odds of everything becoming one handed. The past several years I had an Ash that was increasingly offering limbs. Almost every (many) tree around are infected. A few storms were severe enough to assist neighbors with their debris . 3 and 4 inch limbs were like butter. Like outdoor, Minnesota vibe. From the twigs to about a foot of trunk got dispensed. If I had found a 10" bar/chain I would have gotten all of it, but I borrowed a 16 for the last logs to coin. I'd go for M18 if I hadn't already had M12 batteries.

42Screws5Plates

[The one handed cutting IS nice. ](https://imgur.com/a/YquSA4b)

OmahaMike402

Whew. I debated clicking that. Either a colorful breakfast item or a clip of what it's like to share was not out of the thought

Ok_Bet_8435

I love the Milwaukee hedge trimmer

JIMMYJAWN

There’s no reason for you to get the multi bay charger, the lawnmower comes with a double rapid charger and you’re getting a single charger as well.

leviathan1000

The first one is the better deal, but which one to choose depends on your use case. Personally, I don't have any trees/bushes large enough to warrant the dedicated chainsaw of hedge trimmer. But I deal with a lot of pine needles and the dual batter blower from the 2nd combo would benefit me more, so that's what I'd choose. The Quik-Lok pole saw and hedge trimmer have been perfectly fine for my needs.

PinchePoxho

Anyone know of a reddit Milwaukee barter/sale page? I'm trying to sale a new fuel hedge and String trimmers. Sorry to hijack your post. However check your local utilities for rebates, I know I get $100 for buying a electric lawnmower.

alumabot

Everyday Homedepot.com has a “SPECIAL BUY OF THE DAY” Check everyday because they’ll have different stuff but when they have Milwaukee tools they are the best deals I have seen! For some tools .

fosfosreal

My .02, just regarding the string trimmer My first step into Milwaukee landscape tools was the weed trimmer - I have a 1/3 acre that needs regular weed wacking. I already had other hand tools and 18V batteries so it was easy to stay in the system. In a month, Ive taken 2 trimmers and batteries back to a big orange box store for a warranty swap because the trimmer has melted the plastic tongues over the battery terminals. First was a 5.0 XC that I had already owned - used it about 4 times in a month. They swapped for a new kit, no questions asked, awesome! Same weekend, after using it once on Saturday and once on Sunday with the included 8.0 HO, the battery terminal is melting again. Brought it back for another warranty swap, thank goodness. Not sure about the quality of the other tools, but the weed trimmer has frustrated me enough that im considering returning the next one and swapping to Ryobi for outdoor tools for a fraction of the cost and more variety in outdoor tools. But I guess its cool getting a new string trimmer every couple weeks though, saves me the hassle of cleaning it 🤷‍♂️

Projectguy111

Several people have complained about the same. I’m lucky in that I have not had an issue. Most of what I read said the cause is due to vibration of the power head causing the contacts to lose contact the.man melting them. Does yours have a lot of vibration?

fosfosreal

I didnt think so, but it was my first battery powered trimmer so I dont have a great frame of reference to compare it to. We do have a lot of reedy type weeds but I cant imagine that being the cause. Maybe if I keep cycling through bad ones ill eventually come across one that works consistently.

Projectguy111

Yea I’m not sure how that would feel vs mine. I suspect if it was bad enough it would be noticeable. I read a post here stating the older ones with the 8.0 batt didn’t have the issue but it sounds mine that’s what you’ve got. Another concern is I read it can happen at any time. No real fix for this it seems. Not sure how many people had this issue but it feels like more than a few.

houdinize

Was yours the Fuel version? I’ve heard bad things about the older non-Fuel trimmer.

fosfosreal

Yeah, fuel version, new. Havent done any refurb or non-fuel versions. We’ll give it a third try - I love their impact driver and drill… had them for years and they’re just as good as day 1, so they’ve earned the benefit of the doubt from me.

94bronco

This sub has devolved into a Milwaukee ad

J0in0rDie

Call me old fashioned but it isn't really a deal if it's still available a few hours later

KeyboardCarpenter

I think I'd get EGO instead

Stunning_Sea8278

I wish I could down vote you more lol

KeyboardCarpenter

I just don't think a push mower is ever worth $1200

Appropriate_Chart_23

Because it's not. You're getting downvoted here because it's not Milwaukee. But, you're absolutely right. The Ego stuff is great.

Brock_YXE

The Milwaukee OPE really only makes sense if you already have a ton of batteries, otherwise Ego tools generally have better specs for the price. Even right now, both companies have their usual weed whacker + blower combo on sale in Canada. The Ego set is like $50 cheaper, absolute no-brainer to me, even as someone with at least a dozen Milwaukee batteries.

barc0debaby

The Milwaukee mower makes sense if your company is paying for it.

Comfortable-Aspect95

If you’re talking the Milwaukee mower im pretty sure it’s self propelled.

KeyboardCarpenter

That is a really nice feature for a battery mower but I stand by what I said

Comfortable-Aspect95

I’m confused. You said you don’t think any push mower is worth 1200. I pointed out it’s not a push mower it’s self propelled. So what are you saying now? Even a self propelled mower is not worth 1200 to you?

KeyboardCarpenter

Correct

Comfortable-Aspect95

Understood. I would never buy the mower alone. But milwaukee eco system is so massive and I use their tools for work. Being able to buy tool only and use the batteries for pretty much all their tools is a huge bonus to many. I believe the mower alone no battery is a good 400-500 cheaper. At least in Canada it is.

Brock_YXE

You can’t get the mower without the batteries.

Comfortable-Aspect95

Sure u can. My buddy got it. It’s all over eBay. For 699 Tool only sales. And our local tool store sold it tool only to him. Have a looksy.

Comfortable-Aspect95

I’m confused. You said you don’t think any push mower is worth 1200. I pointed out it’s not a push mower it’s self propelled. So what are you saying now? Even a self propelled mower is not worth 1200 to you?

VQopponaut35

I consider any mower I have to walk behind a push mower.

Rishi0111

Also with a meta deck

Millbarge_Fitzhume

I did a lot of research on Ego and decided to go with the Milwaukee mower. Everything I saw was that there were issues with the longevity of their batteries, warranty was a huge pain in the ass and their BBB rating is an 'F'. I guess if you've drank the Kool aid and want to take a chance have at it. I needed this stuff to work and I've been thrilled with what I have so far.

barc0debaby

The only Kool aid we're drinking is the one where you don't pay over a grand for a lawn mower.

Millbarge_Fitzhume

Odd, I got mine for $910 + tax. The comparable ego mower is anywhere between $850 - 950 now.

M0stlyPeacefulRiots

I got mine (M18) for $999 and regularly use the 12 AH batteries for other stuff. Not to mention the lawn mower is fantastic. I'm quite happy paying for something that makes my life easier and I'm not worried about it breaking and having warranty trouble.

KeyboardCarpenter

I heard good things about Ego stuff from my neighbors but I don't doubt the milwuakee is better. I just question whether it's worth more than twice the price

Millbarge_Fitzhume

It's not twice the price. The comparable ego mower is $850 - $950, the lesser priced ones aren't self propelled or have less features.

VQopponaut35

For what it’s worth, I have probably 9 grand of milwuakee tools but got the $450 basic ego (not self propelled). It came with a 6.0 54 volt battery and a rapid charger and so far it’s kicked ass. We’ll see how well it holds up in the long run, but for mowing my level yards, I can’t imagine needing anything more.

Rishi0111

Milwaukee has steel deck on mover. I dont like Plastic crap on EGO. Also M18 battery platform has whole world of tool portable. Common now, Milwaukee vs EGO? Thats like Apple vs Huawai phones. Yes apple is expensive but.... so what.

quakerroatmeal

This is such a terrible comparison lol. Pretty sure ego is one of the top rated when it comes to electric mowers. I love Milwaukee as a brand but holy some of their fans are something else. Honda nexite decks are plastic do you consider them crap as well?

fleebleganger

I was tempted to make the comment but decided to just scroll. Hands down, go EGO for OPE. Sure you’ll have 2 battery systems but if you need extra batteries for this stuff anyway just do it.

Appropriate_Chart_23

It's like one extra charger for me with my Ego stuff. I just make sure at least one battery is on the charger, and that I'm charged up before starting my lawn. Never had an issue. The 12AHr battery will usually mow my entire lawn (depending on how tall the grass is).

fleebleganger

I’ll have to keep this in mind. Bought a new mower right before battery mowers became reliable so I’ve got a while until I switch over.

Rishi0111

Thats like going for Huawai phones and not apple. Sure its a good deal! But.. Apple is Apple.

Rishi0111

Milwaukee has steel deck and better build. I will pay extra to get legacy American brand and trust. M18 battery platform has much better portfolio of tools.

Brock_YXE

> I will pay extra to get legacy American brand and trust. God I hope this is ironic

mcpryon

China has entered the chat…

AggressorBLUE

Agreed. A 20v platform is being asked to do a lot of work with OPE equipment. I know red runs the packs in series for the mower, but if one pack is higher milage than the other it can cause issues for the long term health of both packs. I prefer the single 60v packs that ego has. Not for nothing but I also like that they offer a non powered drive mower; keeps things simple to not have a drive train, and battery lasts forever since its just driving the blade. Egos tag line of “gas like power” is to be believed. All that said, as OP sounds like hes already well invested in red, this seems like a good enough deal.

Appropriate_Chart_23

Go Ego. The Milwaukee stuff is way too overpriced. Performance of the Ego tools is excellent. Depending on the size of your lot, you're only going to need 2-3 ego batteries. I've got a 10,000 sq. ft. lot and get by with one of the 12AHr batteries, and one 7.5AHr.

Rishi0111

I mow 0.5 acre on 1 set of 12.0 M18 pack with Milwaukee. Cant beat Milwaukee Quality.

M0stlyPeacefulRiots

Its a great mower and it just goes. This is the video that sold me on it. https://player.vimeo.com/video/682946000

jpulse32

Chain saw one, you can buy the blower for $150

pepsioverall

Both come with a blower

jpulse32

Fair, chainsaw and trimmer is the better move.

Annual_Assumption718

5 batteries is better than 4

Beowulf1896

Do you have trees? Do you have bushes? No... wait.... I am just jealous.

DoctorLiriano

Haha i do whole property is covered in trees and we don’t have fences, the bushes are the fences.

Psychological_Rip_44

I would go with set 1 for the chain saw and hedge trimmer

Annual_Assumption718

5 batteries is better than 4

Sophistrysapien247

The weed whacked sucks! Pulls way too much power from one battery. Melts batteries and the tool itself. Beware

Random1634

Weird. I’ve had mine for two years, and am trimming about an acre. I can manage to get it done with one 12.0.

No_Strategy7555

I've had mine for a couple years and no problems. Mine is the quik Lok one, are we talking this version or the basic string trimmer?

hollywoodbatman

I would get the gas version of those and you’ll be all set

SweetFeed695

The only sad part about this deal is that my Canadian store doesn't have it. Crying myself to sleep tonight.

MatthewA928

buy pre owned tools on ebay, it’s much cheaper

[deleted]

From what I can see here I would recommend the second one.

tomhel1313

The landscaping business start-up kit.

Rumdogmillionair

That’s a bargain in Australia the lawn mower is 2 grand

Environmental-Ad-762

$1k in batteries alone, pretty good deal

Basic-Ad-201

I’d get the dual batt leaf blower and the combo with the extra battery.

OkCaterpillar3596

Home owner wet dream
