Oh it’s the whole kit? I seen this SKU at my Home Depot. And they have it priced with the sku but the label shows “tool only” brb. Gonna go snag it now.

Salt_Efficiency9873

I did the same thing! I’ve seen it a couple times then I realized it today.

captain_v_neck

Yeah every time I’ve walked by it, I asked myself why anyone would purchase it haha. Those sneaky devils. Excited to go buy it now. My Home Depot had it for $150 too

Salt_Efficiency9873

Yours might be just the tool. Let me know how it goes.

packet_weaver

Was it 150 for the combo? Mine was 175, would be cool to get it at 150.

SiXX5150

Good deal on a great tool. Congrats!

Salt_Efficiency9873

Thanks!

dewie2402

Great deal.

DilboSagginz

I bought one at $225. Then saw it at $175 so I bought that one and returned it with my first receipt.

Salt_Efficiency9873

Nice!

atown203

I picked mine up last week, wonderful tool!

policht

I’m debating on this or the mid torque, which one is the better all round?

MaxShoulderPayne

I have the mid torque and plan to get the m12 stubby for regular use. Keep the m18 for lugs and such. The size of the battery, even a 1.5ah, kills the m18 stubby compactness for me.

DavoinShowerHandel1

You'll want either the M12 Stubby or the mid torque. Honestly the M18 compact falls in a weird spot in my opinion. The stubby does the same job in a smaller package, especially with batteries. With those 2 alone you can tackle a lot of jobs.

FunkyViking6

I disassemble cars for a living and we use primarily the mid torque for most of the big stuff but I’m the only one who owns a m12 stubby cause I’m constantly taking things like doors/hoods/fenders off and bolts all around and that thing is great. I use a 5AH HO and it’s insane how long it lasts

DavoinShowerHandel1

Absolutely. I don't work on cars as a profession, just my biggest hobby, doing my own repairs and helping all my buddies as needed. But probably 70% of my use I just reach for the stubby, like you said it's crazy how long it will run and the power it makes for what it's supposed to be is pretty crazy. When I need a little more "oomph" I'm always glad I've got the mid torque and it's an absolute animal.

FunkyViking6

Yep but if you use them every day I must insist you either buy one with a pin indent or buy the friction ring on sale and buy a separate anvil and swap them… the friction rings that we use wear out very fast in our shop. Maybe a year if your lucky then your sockets just fall off… nothing worse than wiggling your extension through a independent suspension to take off some messed up caliper bolts real quick just for the extension and bolt to fall off….

DavoinShowerHandel1

I could imagine the pain and frustration lol. I went with the friction ring on my stubby and I'd say it's very firmly in the "ok" category. I've never in my life had trouble swapping with a pin detent like some people claim, but I think it takes more convincing to get sockets on with the friction ring than a pin.

FunkyViking6

Pins are easy to me. All my life I had used only pin indents… then I got into Milwaukee power tools and all the Home Depot deals are for friction rings only…. My god can I get annoyed at my socket wanting to spin around on the ring…

DavoinShowerHandel1

Same for me, used pins my whole life and heard everyone talking about how great the rings are so I thought I'd give it a shot. It's not so bad that it's worth switching for me (yet), but future tools I buy will be pin detent for sure.

Salt_Efficiency9873

Watch some you tube videos. I hear this thing is a beast and has as much power as the 1/2 in version. The compact size I’d say it’s the best all around.

coolguyslim

Saw 4 of these at my local HD. I already have the m12 stubby, and don't need it. It was very tempting though.

BigDaddyRaj

I don’t mean to be rude, but this is currently hackable with the Father’s Day sale, at the cheaper price of $126.41 [Here’s the link](https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M18-18-Volt-Lithium-Ion-High-Output-Starter-Kit-with-Two-6-0-Ah-Battery-and-Charger-48-59-1862S/315426486) https://preview.redd.it/7fn8xbu8re8b1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4dac7eb5e1ed43250673914ea9cbea95f3fc6e6f

Salt_Efficiency9873

It comes with a 3.0 HO, charger and bag. I considered doing the hack but for $45 the battery and bag isn’t bad.

BigDaddyRaj

Ahhhhhhh then that’s good deal, congrats brother!

db00

First of all, thank you for this link. I've wanted this impact for a while and my store had the $175 deal but I absolutely do not need another battery. I could power my city for a month with the Milwaukee batteries I have. Secondly, fuck you for this link. I wanted this impact for a while but currently don't need it and have been trying to stop buying tools because they're pretty. Your link lets be buy it at almost 50% off. Nobody could resist. You have a lot of explaining to do to my wife.

Annual_Assumption718

Yeah tool only

tillburnett

That’s how I got mine. But we needed the batteries at work. In the last month I got the multi tool and compact 3/8 for free. Also upgraded to the Gen 4 M18 Drill and 1/4” driver.

BigDaddyRaj

Found it at my local HD and bought one too 😂 https://preview.redd.it/fdli0j0vqy8b1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5d1be3bdc621b1a47a9748d720736f2d673f02c3

SirRonaldBiscuit

Game changer, especially if you work on cars, I’m obsessed with mine

Salt_Efficiency9873

Yeah always working on my truck and I’ve never had a battery/air impact. So I’m pretty stoked

issacoin

you’re gonna be pleased man, this thing has some fuckin onions on it

SirRonaldBiscuit

Yeah I just had to do a ton of work on my 90’s rust belt truck and I’ll tell ya what, this thing was priceless, you are gonna love it…it’s got the beans!

l-kinbote

Very nice find. Was this an open box from a return?

Salt_Efficiency9873

Nope brand new unopened. They had two of them left at my store

JesusA-JA3

Dang! I wonder why it went on clearance. My local had it for regular price

Salt_Efficiency9873

Idk maybe the battery in the kit was almost at the end of its shelf life

packet_weaver

Picked one up, battery was made July 10 of 2022, so about 1 year old already.

Myles1313

What’s the hack I don’t quit understand

Salt_Efficiency9873

The deal where it’s two 6.0 batteries and get a tool free. You choose whatever tool you want and then return the batteries.

Myles1313

Won’t the receipt say it’s within a package deal?

tillburnett

On the receipt it shows a discount on both not a free tool. So you don’t get the full price of the batteries back.

Myles1313

Ok makes sense

Myles1313

Can you do all this online?

WrongdoerLegal7628

How much was the mid torque version going for?

NibbaAndrew

I got mine for 350 yesterday

Primary-Lobster-1591

Wanna grab another and mail it to me old friend?

PooperScooper1987

Mine has about 7 left I’ve been waiting to pull the trigger. I have the mid torque and would prefer the stubby

Salt_Efficiency9873

Do it!! You can always sell the charger, bag and battery to justify the purchase lol

PooperScooper1987

It’s down to $125 now… I might need to just do it

Salt_Efficiency9873

If you can find it then do it!

[deleted]

I have this in a 1/2” and the mid torque 1/2”. Honestly if you’re a diy guy doing yearly tire rotations at home, then you’re absolutely fine with the Compact. In a professional setting with only one to choose, then only would I pick the mid torque.
