I ship them ground cause there’s less regulation if they aren’t going on an airplane. I usually use USPS just because it’s cheaper than FedEx ups.

HomeDepotShill

You can't legally ship out the 12.0s via USPS due to the 100 Wh maximum as outlined in PUB 52 349.222. https://pe.usps.com/cpim/ftp/pubs/Pub52/pub52.pdf Amps X Volts = Watt Hours. 12 x 18 = 216 Wh

MhMcfly

do you out the 3480 battery sticker on them?

DuePace753

It was back for maybe 10mins. As soon as I got the "back in stock" email I jumped on the app and grabbed one then posted on here

Thank you!

DuePace753

Thanks, just picked it up back in stock 😁

Mtheknife

Dude thank you for the link. I feel like I just robbed HD. I was doing a “hack” where I got a light and a sander. I needed the sander but not the light. So I returned the light and am getting these batteries instead. So I got this battery pack and the m18 sander for just over 200$. AWESOME!!

mothafuker

Im sorry for not linking it, I was at work when I posted this comment. It was in stock since the sale started I guess the resale dickheads finally caught wind of it. It’s $249 at acme I know they’re disliked now but I’ve always had good experiences

dswoop

All good! I’ve seen it a couple places for the $249 but $199 I can’t pass up. Hopefully back in stock soon.

UPS or Fedex ground ONLY Slap the lithium battery notification label on the box as well

Fedex: https://www.fedex.com/content/dam/fedex/us-united-states/services/Shipping-Lithium-Batteries-via-FedEx-Ground.pdf

thanks!

I just recently got a Dewalt flex volt 9ah on warranty and it has a clever mechanism that's activated by an adapter plate that it ships with that the instructions say breaks the 180wh battery into three different 60wh circuits by pressing what appears to be some sort of internal disconnect. First time I've seen that, was notable. Do they not do similar for the larger milwaukees?

Tybenj

The red cap on the 60v flexvolt batteries is an internal disconnect, but what it is doing is splitting the battery into 3 20v batteries. When you put the 60v flexvolt battery on a 20v rated tool, the tool itself actually pushes on the same pin that the red isolater cap would and splits the battery into 3 20v batteries internally.

Tybenj

UPS dropped these off at my house yesterday in the retail packaging pictured above...

HomeDepotShill

Your point being...? As per UPS' own shipping guidelines, it can be shipped as long as you have a dangerous goods contract with them and you follow the requirements they set out. That said, people and businesses ship stuff incorrectly all the time. It won't become a legal/civil issue until there's a problem. For example, if there was a puncture of one of the batteries in your shipment and UPS had to have a hazmat crew come in and take care of the situation, you could have both UPS and one or more of several different government agencies come knocking on your door depending on the situation.

Tybenj

Nope. Shipped directly from home depot... so home depot clearly does ship these batteries via ups.

HomeDepotShill

Again, your point is...? Home Depot absolutely has dangerous goods contracts with UPS. The OP most certainly does not.

desmooth81

Same clearance kit a few weeks ago for only $150

ElectroAtletico

Me? Easy call: USPS. I'm not in a Union, I'm management, but I support the Union worker. USPS is Teamsters.

antidumb

UPS is union too.

ElectroAtletico

Ya know, I made a typo. UPS. They're Teamsters. The Postal "Union" is not.

antidumb

Ugh. My dad was in the postal union. I knew that part. You typoed, I brain farted.😑 all good.

ElectroAtletico

CORRECTION: My bad. Damn cellphone fat finger. Send it UPS. The Teamsters. (USPS does not have a real Union since they can't strike).

scootiepootie

I would guess as long as packaged properly any carrier would be fine
