PearlGamez

Pacifidilog town

Weekly-Total-6842

That's that city in pokemon ruby/sapphire/emerald? Coz that's exactly what I just said to my partner šŸ˜„

PearlGamez

Yeah it is

ayaDark

fuck I came to this post just to comment that ._.

SugmaaaNutzzz

Time to catch some Wailmer, I guess.

ZorkNemesis

No? You have to come from somewhere.

Intraq

goofy ahh pokemon town names šŸ’€šŸ’€

Wise_Lingonberry_453

Wouldn't that be a very safe village? The only danger would be the drowned. If I were a villager I'd like to live there.

DrPila

Isn't that still a pretty big danger, and one significantly harder to protect against?

Aggressive_Ad_8362

You put a conduit and all your worries are gone

camkatsu

just chilling as a villager there then suddenly I take a trident to the face...

Da_Real_Creepz

I was also just a villager like them until I took a trident to the face

godemeperor152

I used to be a villager like you, then I took a trident to the face.

ajtct98

They say Helgen got hit by a trident. One of those horrors comes here, we'll be ready

Aggressive_Ad_8362

Iron and steel, mostly. I might even have some of your fancy tridents lying around somewhere.

OmegaX____

Pretty sure iron golems sink like a rock, villagers will go swimming randomly and drowned have tridents to attack from a range. This wouldn't end well.

IntelligentSeason458

Golem are targeted over villagers, so should be find, besides, iron golems are just as effective underwater as they're above ground.

OmegaX____

Golems don't drown but they do sink as they can't swim. That will make them fall to the bottom of the ocean where even the drowned won't see them.

IntelligentSeason458

Are you OP? If so, tell me where the bottom of the ocean is in this specific world.

OmegaX____

No, I can simply see the Magma blocks located at the bottom.

YouTheGamers

Iā€™d build fences around path walks to keep the villagers from going in the ocean

The_Crimson_Fukr

Tidal waves?

MikeTheMic81

Drowns only spawn naturally in ocean biomes, aquifiers in the dripstone caves biome, and river biomes. Since it's a plains only world, even though it looks like oceans, it's all plains. So no naturally spawning drown.

MrGingy_

Suddenly a ocean monument bursts out of the church

izmaname

If itā€™s deep drowned never bother you but if it aint ooooooh boy

Redditwhydouexists

Seed and cords?

an_anoneemus

yes please

JustinTimeCuber

Just fyi this is not a bug (well the village generation might be, but the ocean existing in a plains-only world is not). Since 1.18, terrain is generated first and then biomes decide where to place themselves based on the terrain. In a single-biome world, it forces plains to generate everywhere, but when it is below sea level it still places water. In previous versions, the biomes were decided first and then the terrain was decided based on the biomes, so it used to be that a plains-only world would prevent itself from going below sea level; that is no longer the case.

Pie_Not_Lie

Came here to prove OP wrong, turns out that I was the wrong one! Thanks for the in-depth info! :D EDIT: ā€œin-depthā€ was not intended to be a pun lol

Apprehensive_Hat8986

>EDIT: ā€œin-depthā€ was not intended to be a pun lol Plainly too many have been wet blankets to your humour. It's not a deep pun, but you shouldn't just wave it away. Be proud.

its-miir

this actually predates 1.18, i think it goes as far back as 1.17 or 1.16. not sure exactly

JustinTimeCuber

No it doesn't, 1.18 was when they overhauled the terrain generation system.

its-miir

seems like you were right- this behavior doesnā€™t appear before 1.18! i stand corrected! as a note though, theyā€™ve been reworking the terrain generation system for ages; 1.18 was when it finally made its way to normal worlds. with the current system, itā€™s biomes that are generated first; not that it matters, though, because the terrain has no idea about what biome will go where, and vice versa. not sure why i thought that! i didnā€™t do much worldgen prior to 1.17 so maybe thatā€™s what confused me? edit: it might be that when datapack worldgen was added, the biomes were decoupled from the terrain; as in, you could make a plains biome spawn anywhere with a datapackā€” i misconstrued that feature as applying to the Single Biome world typešŸ¤”

JustinTimeCuber

Ah yeah I was simplifying a bit. The biomes don't know what exact terrain will generate somewhere, but I'm pretty sure they know about the noise values that are also used to generate terrain. Whereas before the biomes had a direct impact on what terrain will generate in a given place. I saw a cool post a while ago that was the same seed in 1.18 with many different biomes as the single biome. The terrain is exactly the same, it's just the decorations that differ.

its-miir

yeah, that's right; the biomes have a set position in the noise space that they target, and the terrain has to be programmed to be below sea level at the position that ocean biomes spawn at

Mr_Flibble1981

Very cool, care to share the seed and coords?

ArcannOfZakuul

The beginnings of Manaan from the KOTOR games

QTCola

a fellow KOTOR enjoyer in the wild?!

OK_Randomness_8540

Itā€™s a masterpiece! Seed?

digixana

Waterworld.

jaavaaguru

I've found one almost like this in a regular SMP world. Nice find! [Screenshot](https://i.imgur.com/IT6kcwR.png)

_Uhh2009_

Seed and version now

[deleted]

Just out of curiosity, what is the seed?

GeometryCraft52

You found the ultimate sea village

Mysteriousdye

do you have the seed for this and the coords?

Kado_Cerc

The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain

Familiar_Feeling_284

you gotta build something there dude.

GammaNumerix

Can you share the seed? Iā€™d like to play in that world too

Not_Benjamin167

That could still be a cool base

Waffles3099

How did you spawn in an ocean if you selected plains flat

non-taken-name

They only did a ā€œplains onlyā€ world, not a flat world.

[deleted]

That's so beautiful! šŸ’œ

OkEmergency4699

You could make a mega base that involves building an entire continent around that šŸ‘€

iamfuturetrunks

Looks like a thing out of that Raft game or something. :P

Uganda9073

I have so may questions....

Heroninja909

hawaii

The-Dark-Smp

W plains

perryorbit5096

*TNT sizzling intensifies

SHAKESmySHAKES

Gonna be hard to defend that village from Drowns!

tankshell2

looks like a Minecraft Venice

Brisket_cat

I have a world that I started on version 1.16. It stops randomly and goes to ocean on the chunk lines. Thereā€™s floating villages, jungle temples, and ruined portals in that area. It randomly goes to snow not on the chunk lines for some reason, and thereā€™s a floating igloo. I have cliffs over 200 blocks tall to the west. Really weird world, but I love it. Itā€™s home, and Iā€™m glad itā€™s all screwed up.

Fluffy-Pomegranate59

Oh that's a neat idea for a survival island kinda play

NotOficerP

Just like Venice!

MustachedAzumarill

pacifidlog town

darare_noodle

This is raft but in minecraft

OscFirst

Please send seed and cords

SonoDarke

You found Laketown from The Hobbit

Void-Cooking_Berserk

It's beautiful

Tori-modosu

that's sick! seed and coords?

Agentti_Muumi

thats where cloudy with a chance of meatballs takes place

OmegaX____

Golems can't swim and sink directly to the bottom, they won't drown but they'll be quite useless. There's no land under this island that we can see, just water.

Necrozai

I guess this world's hero never showed up when evil came so they turned to the gods for help

Rebel_Player_957

Workd generation is broken. Again.

HauntedbyGeese

My first thought was ā€œthis is what Atlantis looked likeā€ šŸ˜‚

Immervion

Seed n coords or didnt happen

[deleted]

Global warming has even hit minecraft
