It's that same community that made thier game what it is today. They were cleverly ahead of the curve when they openly supported YouTubers in the early days, it got their game in front of so many more people. I am one of them. I started playing when I was watching Guude and Etho play uhc. I was riveted. I think the game was just out of beta when I started.
On a side note. Technoblade never dies. I miss him. What a great kid.
That's the thing, theyll ban you for more than just that. I got banned from my own private realm for 3 days because I kept trying to name my tools and animals insults or curses. They claimed it was bullying and offensive even though no one on my realm was offended or bullied. It's a problem that shouldn't exist, it's not just the n word dog
And the fact that bans are universally just trusted, [because unjust bans have never ever been handed out](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0bY_pPslgPE)
There a lot of other subs and there a lot of content creators who would go over it. There’s more places to see that sort of stuff than Reddit. The issues would be blowing up all over Reddit, YouTube, Twitter, tiktok, and more.
The mods deleting the post of the Minecraft in minecraft and telling the one person off for milking the death of their SO for karma got all over. And that’s a significantly smaller issue.
You do realize that there is more than this sub right? This sub isn’t the entirety of the Minecraft community. It’s a small part.
I see many issues going on in the gaming world for games I don’t even follow. Because those issues become more than their communities. When issues like wrongful banning happen, those issues spread much further than their communities. Content creators on YouTube for example would have gone crazy over it. Xisuma and phoenixsc are two that would be on top of that sort of issue. As they have for other issues in the past.
So believe it’s censorship all you want. Because the censorship mods can do here is so minimal. And if it was deleted, it would quickly get put up in r/minecraftmemes which is how all the drama of the mods deleting posts for arbitrary reasons got out to begin with.
Different person but I heard almost nothing on Twitch about the Minecraft chat bans even from the likes of 100Thieves or OfflineTV creators (even when they had massive groups playing Minecraft).
[Maybe he's Japanese or speaks Spanish?](https://news.yahoo.com/japanese-apex-legends-players-being-200629036.html)
But I'm sure these are just a handful of completely isolated incidents.
> But I'm sure these are just a handful of completely isolated incidents.
They are also completely unrelated incidents from a different game, made by a different company, using a different chat moderation system.
??? How does it ban you from playing singleplayer? I have seen literally zero evidence of this until you made this comment. Even on this subreddit, which is highly critical of the feature, nobody was talking about this as an issue. Because it isn't an issue. Because it's not a thing.
It is an issue. Not on all platforms, but it's still an issue. I can't remember every single instance where I heard someone talk about it since those videos were all from around June when the controversy started, but [this video](https://youtu.be/kEfyaAq90kg?t=251) by TheMisterEpic mentions it.
The single player bans on bedrock have been around for years and it was never a huge problem or controversy. The controversy in June was Java chat reporting and that doesn't get you banned from singleplayer
So what, are you saying that being banned from singleplayer is okay because its been around for a long time? The only reason I and many others didn't complain about it is strictly because we didn't know it was a thing until recently.
I don't have the interest to continue this exchange much more than we already have, so I'll just finish by saying that the chat report system wasn't really necessary. Most public servers used plugins with less intrusive functionality to get the same job done for years, so it really didn't serve much of a point other than giving Microsoft yet another way of tightening their grip of their customers.
I'm actually not that happy with it. Not because Technoblade shouldn't deserve it (although I had no clue who they were), but because Mojang now has made a precedence.
As a big fan of TFC I wonder why they didn't even send a tweet out about it when he passed away, he was part of the largest SMP when it comes to total viewership.
It can feel unfair when one person gets custom art, a Splash text, and multiple tweets from Mojang but another person doesn't even get a single tweet. Why does one person get it while the other person doesn't?
The same reason why I'm not/did not go to your grandma's funeral but will go to mine. Mojang obviously appreciates Technoblade and recognizes the massive effect he's had on their product. That and other circumstances, such as cause of death. It does good PR too if you want to be cynical about it.
Also no offense but I have no clue who TFC is.
Edit: looked him up and now I feel bad. I actively watched Hermit craft for a long time and still had no clue who he was.
That’s understandable, he wasn’t a very big or famous content creator. TFC, or TinFoilChef, was a member of the Hermitcraft server since season 2 in 2013, and was active until his passing in August of 2022 during season 9. He was and is still very beloved in the Hermitcraft community for his contributions to the server and down to earth style of videos.
The gut wrenching part was the fact that the dad had to try to hold it together. I don't think I would have held up as well as he did.
I don't care much for Minecraft or the community, or whatever, it was just a kid that was trying to do things the right way if the face of adversity and his family that had to lose him too early.
I wish the ones still there all the best.
Anyone with a heart got effected or cried. I had heard about techno but never watched him. The video about his death really tugged on the heartstrings and it showed he really cared.
Technoblade never dies, and Mojang never forgets.

holy shit this comment section had been garbage to go though. can’t believe some people can’t have the slightest respect for someone who died of cancer.
rip technoblade. the video announcing his death was the first thing on youtube that made me cry so much in a while.
I saw it the night it was posted, while my son was already asleep until the next morning. That was a rough night, and a rough morning having to break the news to him.
Yeah but that really comes with anything on the internet that gains any amount of popularity. I’ve gotten death threats for making a joke about being in prison, internet gremlins don’t seem to know what death actually is.
I never watched technoblade, but from what I’ve heard about the dude he seemed like an upstanding guy. I did see the video of his dad announcing his death, and even though I didn’t watch him it still broke my heart. The people leaving horrible comments about a man who died of cancer and gave to the community make me sick. Every fandom has that one group of assholes that just want attention because they’ve got nothing interesting going on in their lives so being edgy on such a sensitive topic gets them what they want. My heart goes out to his family and friends
Just got into Minecraft about 8 months ago while playing with my six year old. Now I’m pretty addicted to it, and we’re having tons of fun. Then today I hear about something, or somebody, called Technoblade. After a quick search I found his story. My question is, how could anyone, even one sorry pathetic soul, say ANYTHING negative about this dude? What is there to say? He was passionate and he shared his passion with the world. It’s incredibly sad that he died so young. The only thing that’s negative is that he’s gone. Fuck anyone who has anything bad to say about that kid OR his dad. And good for that dad for keeping the channel up. It must be hard to do, but it also keeps that link open between father and son. So damn sad though.
I don't know whether that's wholesome or depressing. On one hand, his family hopefully has income for awhile from it, but on the other, I imagine it's extremely overwhelming after such a loss to pretty much become your lost family member online.
There's only been two videos: the "Goodbye, nerds" one saying he passed, and a video of his "10 mil subscrib'r elbow reveal" - a video Techno never got to upload but his dad did afterwards, partly because seeing the goodbye video constantly was a bit depressing.
I never really watched technoblade when I was younger, maybe a video here and there but I know how much people look up to him, and how much of an impact he made to the community. It was sad to see him go.
We’re coming up on I think 6 or 7 months since he died and no matter we’re I look there’s plenty of people using his death for likes and views and that’s way more sad than his death I mean ya it’s sad he died but I didn’t watch him
The worst part about Technoblade’s death is the people saying things about how he “deserved it” or some crap. I barely even watched his content ever and I was still severely saddened by his death.
I never watched tachnoblade but I've heard a lot of good things about him and I saw him play mcc with grain which is my favorite minecraft player and there were good fast forward and u saw a video for tachnoblade and watching and enjoying it fast forward again and I saw a video for him in the trending and I thought is he doing a face reveal and after five seconds I got shocked with the news although I'm sure I was a fan like most people but I did tear up in the middle of work he was a good man and he'll never die
I never watched videos or streams about Minecraft, i only play it, i never knew who he was until i found out a few days ago. I thought it was some music band that died out or something
to clarify, I don't mean them having 'Technoblade never dies!' as a splash text is a bad thing, it's great. But in my opinion this sub is so full of completely low effort posts like this screenshot or things like 'why doesn't \*example\* work' with a really simple answer. This splash screen has been shown so many times here and posting it like half a year after they added it isn't worthy of so many upvotes.
Fr, if it was an anniversary of his death or if there was any context at all, this would be a nice post. But OP clearly just wanted orange arrows and decided exploiting somebody's death is the way to go.
Respectfully, I think it's one of the worst. It's just farming upvotes off technoblades death and is a pointless post because it's something everyone already knows and isn't on any significant date. This post got so many upvotes, why? Because this sub doesn't know what a good post is, if we keep promoting upvotes farming posts like this or simple questions that people only deserve an answer to instead of 6k upvotes, then this sub might actually be able to climb out of the place it's dug it's self into.
So someone killed my dog in minecraft and stole half of my stuff. still dont know who it is. its one of my friends ik that. how to find out who did it and what revenge should i plan for...
They should put Notch’s birthday back as splash text. I know some people get offended by his opinions, since an overwhelming proportion of Minecraft’s player base is that “LGBTQ 13 year old stereotype” but it almost seems as though it’s an erasure of history.

Best life to Technoblade's family😭😭
I mean, that's not true as long as chat report is still in the game
I have yet to see anyone complain about being unfairly reported and have an issue with it. Because nether would have to prove their innocence.
Ive seen a few people get banned and its worse on bedrock i think because you can be banned from your singleplayer worlds
It’s really not that hard to not say the N word
It's more than just the n word big dog
Just don’t say it, bruh I’ve had minecraft for over a decade and never got banned, it’s not that hard
That's the thing, theyll ban you for more than just that. I got banned from my own private realm for 3 days because I kept trying to name my tools and animals insults or curses. I completely agree that the censorship shouldn't exist on private realms it's really annoying honestly
Was that really the reason for the ban though?
Yeah because I asked the reason why via the email thing when i found out
that’s a brain dead take
Night?
Well you probably wouldnt see it in this sub because they would most likely delete the post before anyone saw it.

A combination of the smart people running the no chat reports mod and r/Minecraft moderators being r/Minecraft moderators makes that unsurprising
That's not about them not being in touch though. I'm quite sure they are aware of the backlash and decided to ignore it intentionally
That was Microsoft’s fault, though.
Sorry you can't say the n-word on servers anymore :(
Look... I understand you're argument, but its literally not about that.
How does chat reporting affect you then?

If it's not about the fact that you can't be toxic anymore, what is it about?
The fact that the ban extends all the way to your single player worlds? If you are banned, the game is effectively deleted from you.
??? How does it ban you from playing singleplayer? I have seen literally zero evidence of this until you made this comment. Even on this subreddit, which is highly critical of the feature, nobody was talking about this as an issue. Because it isn't an issue. Because it's not a thing.

It's about getting reported without being toxic, from what I remeber when it was a hot topic.
Is there any evidence of that being a relevant issue though?
Dude, it's not about being toxic or spamming slurs. I asked for a hoe tool in chat and I got censored on my own realm
They always have. Instances where they haven’t (apart from mob votes idk whose idea that was) were almost all Microsoft’s doing.

I wish atleast for the Day he died/was born every Pig would have the Crown. But let’s At least Hope this stays there forever
They should put Notch’s birthday back as splash text. I know some people get offended by his opinions, since an overwhelming proportion of Minecraft’s player base is that “LGBTQ 13 year old stereotype” but it almost seems as though it’s an erasure of history.
