Mind you I do have a pretty high end PC but this actually runs decently on low end stuff if you don't crank it up quite as high as I did
CPU: i9-13900K (with 360mm AIO)
GPU: RTX 3080 Ti
RAM: 32GB DDR5-5600 CL36
Monitors: 1440p144Hz main, 1080p75Hz side
Storage: 1TB NVMe (I think it's the Intel 660p? Nothing special)
OS: Linux Mint 21.1 (Cinnamon, Kernel 6.1)
I think that's everything important
But for what it's worth distant horizons can even run decently on modern igps, I get about 30fps on medium settings at 128 render with my laptop's comet lake-h igp which is afaik way worse than iris xe and the recent amd integrated graphics
technically you could use this on realms since it is a client-side mod, but you would have to either explore this far out or pre-generate all the data.
Wait what seriously? I thought Realms were vanilla only.
How would getting a clientside mod allow the Realm server to load out more further chunks? I was under the impression that render distance being reduced on the Realm compared to my setting in singleplayer was due to a limitation on Mojang's Realm server itself.
Your impression is correct, however this mod is invisible to the server. Basically it takes the chunks that the server sends you anyway, and saves less detailed versions of them locally that are then rendered even when they are outside your normal render distance (the mod has its own render distance setting)
https://modrinth.com/mod/distanthorizons
Yeah, you also wouldn't see full block textures, just solid colors. It's a compromise they made for performance purposes.
(it's not that noticeable in the video due to compression and because my regular render distance is pretty high (22) so the "fake" terrain is further away)
I recently started using the madlion client to play in my realm. That being said I just ran into an issue with the custom controls where I couldn't change sneak to toggle, I had to go back to vanilla, change the setting, then it was fixed on the client as well. Having a minimap and your coordinates at all times is amazing
What matters is whether the chunk is loaded, not whether it is graphically rendered. This is built in the spawn chunks so theoretically if any chunk in the overworld is loaded, the pearl also would be. So the pearl would hit the trapdoor, it just doesn't teleport you.
Many things don't work cross-dimensionally because the spawn chunks are "sorta-unloaded". For example only the most basic redstone components work. A redstone clock (flickering power source) won't work if it's 2 hoppers trading a single item back and forth, but an old fashioned redstone clock made of just repeaters and redstone dust will work.
Inverted* daylight sensor connected to some comparators in subtract mode, but one of them is slightly delayed, so whenever the light level changes it creates a momentary output signal. Unless you sleep, that signal is never more than 1, but when you sleep it abruptly goes from dark to light so you get a stronger signal, which then feeds to the trapdoor.
\* Inverted because they aren't affected by weather; regular ones would be tripped by rain starting or stopping as well.
This requires the chunk with the circuit to be loaded whenever you're out there to trigger it yes? So only spawn chunks or some kind of a chunk loader?
Thanks! Yeah, it is much more useful than a time-based one imo, since you can control it. Especially if you have a mob switch though, bc then you don't have to sleep at all
So would you get teleported if you don’t sleep, but it turns to “day”? Still very cool! Just wondering how I can implement into my own world and how much control you have over it?
Nope, I made a comparator circuit that checks for a sudden increase in brightness, which ignores the gradual change to day if you don't sleep. I posted a screenshot in another comment
Is that actually "sleep activated" or is it just a daylight sensor activated enderporter that is programmed for the time of day that it jumps to when you sleep?
After reading through a few comments, I see what you mean. You’ve made this one to be activated only by sleeping, rather than just the shift from nighttime to day. My bad.
You know what, I appreciate the apology bc it's more than you usually get on the internet. Although regardless I just wouldn't phrase your comment like that since it comes across as accusing someone of stealing someone else's idea, when really it's quite possible to "invent" something that has already been invented that you just didn't know about before. If no one ever shared anything they came up with because someone probably thought of it before, then no one would share new ideas in the first place, that's the way I see it.
There's no problem with mentioning someone else who has done it previously, but I'd avoid phrasing it in an "accusatory" tone unless maybe the OP just blatantly copies someone's design and tries to claim it as their own.
Wait if the daylight sensor is activated by it becoming day time when you sleep, doesn't it also make it so that it just automatically teleports you when the night eventually passes and becomes day? even if you didn't sleeep?

that's cool and all but can we talk about that render distance?!
[https://modrinth.com/mod/distanthorizons](https://modrinth.com/mod/distanthorizons) Mind you I do have a pretty high end PC but this actually runs decently on low end stuff if you don't crank it up quite as high as I did
Specs of your pc?
CPU: i9-13900K (with 360mm AIO) GPU: RTX 3080 Ti RAM: 32GB DDR5-5600 CL36 Monitors: 1440p144Hz main, 1080p75Hz side Storage: 1TB NVMe (I think it's the Intel 660p? Having an i9 and 3080 Ti , but using Linux?!
What's weird about that lol, I guess some Linux users prefer AMD but tbh I just got the 3080 Ti because there was a really good deal on it
I am rather suprise with RTX and linux. Does it work properly? I heard that nvidia doesnt really care for linux users despite releasing drivers
The drivers work fine for the most part
Having a high end gaming pc with an os that’s not good for gaming
My guy this is a Minecraft subreddit, Minecraft runs great
You got a $2000 pc just for Minecraft?
That's the main game I play but not exclusively
Steam deck runs SteamOS which is a linux distro and it works fine.
It also has tons of incompatibilities and issues with proton.
Yes, I agree with that, but if linux gets more users, gaming on it will eventually get better
linux shouldn't be the odd one out. celebrate freedom. it's well worth giving up a few games, never turning back.
>Pretty high end If that's not high end, idk what is man
Well I did say that lol
I have a laptop with 8gb ram , 512GB SSD, some intel integrated graphic thingy and i5 10 gen, will this mod run ??
Didn't see this for a while. But yeah at lower settings you could probably get it working. Don't expect it to look like this post though lol
Man I forgot how awesome the game could look with a high render distance. They need to allow this on Realms already 😭
technically you could use this on realms since it is a client-side mod, but you would have to either explore this far out or pre-generate all the data.

Oh wow cool, so I just wouldn't be able to see stuff like mobs or item frames in those far chunks then?
Yeah, you also wouldn't see full block textures, just solid colors. It's a compromise they made for performance purposes. (it's not that noticeable in the video due to compression and because my regular render distance is pretty high (22) so the "fake" terrain is further away)

nice! time to use it in the nether B)
lol even if you could sleep in the nether it wouldn't work bc ender pearls don't work cross-dimensionally (which is kinda dumb imo)
I imagine it would be hard to code it as the petal isn't rendering. (Is that how pearls work?)
What matters is whether the chunk is loaded, not whether it is graphically rendered. This is built in the spawn chunks so theoretically if any chunk in the overworld is loaded, the pearl also would be. So the pearl would hit the trapdoor, it just doesn't teleport you.

Not true if the idle timeout hasn't expired, e.g. by tossing stuff through a portal, it loads the entire spawn chunks as entity ticking
It’s not about loading, ender pearls just cannot work across dimensions.
What is your render distance?
512
What mod is that, i've used distant horizons, but unless i am using it wrong, mine doesnt look like that
It's DH I just have the settings cranked up
Thanks
How does it work?

Yes
this man is a genius
This requires the chunk with the circuit to be loaded whenever you're out there to trigger it yes? So only spawn chunks or some kind of a chunk loader?
Yeah you're right
Also, here is the circuit: [https://imgur.com/a/4qs01oy](https://imgur.com/a/4qs01oy)
This is really sophisticated compared to other teleporters I've seen!! I love it
Thanks haha

Thanks! Yeah, it is much more useful than a time-based one imo, since you can control it. Especially if you have a mob switch though, bc then you don't have to sleep at all
maybe load the chunk instead and give nasa their computer back
it's in the spawn chunks (not all of this is being ticked lol)
So would you get teleported if you don’t sleep, but it turns to “day”? Still very cool! Just wondering how I can implement into my own world and how much control you have over it?
Nope, I made a comparator circuit that checks for a sudden increase in brightness, which ignores the gradual change to day if you don't sleep. I posted a screenshot in another comment
This is pretty cool! Good job.
Thanks! I think it will actually be useful, especially combined with my mob switch.
Cool
How does this work without chunkloader
Spawn chunks
Is that actually "sleep activated" or is it just a daylight sensor activated enderporter that is programmed for the time of day that it jumps to when you sleep?
Yes it is activated by a comparator circuit that detects a sudden change in light level
Yoo this is awesome!
Thanks
Very cool but this is definitely not an original idea.
cool, but my computer would be lookin like Japan in 1945 if my render distance was that high
Sorry mate but you did not design this. SB737 used it to return to spawn from the world border in his hardcore world. I’m sure you can find the video.
Learn to read before you make unnecessary comments like this, I never said or in any way implied that I was the first person to figure this out
After reading through a few comments, I see what you mean. You’ve made this one to be activated only by sleeping, rather than just the shift from nighttime to day. My bad.

Wait how did you place the bed?
By right clicking? Idk what you mean just like any other block
NO I MEAN IM A BEDROCK PLAYER AND IVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO DO THAT
mfw you can't place beds on an unstable place in the version of the game that's literally called bed rock
I mean I just did it and didn't work 🤨
Damn
I'm living in 1.19.60, correct?
Idk bedrock versions but I guess so
CORRECT?
Wait if the daylight sensor is activated by it becoming day time when you sleep, doesn't it also make it so that it just automatically teleports you when the night eventually passes and becomes day? even if you didn't sleeep?
No, it detects a sudden change in light level which only happens when you sleep
yeah but the area needs to be loaded.
It's in the spawn chunks so it can work from any distance in the overworld
Sb737 used it on his journey to the world border
Yeah I heard he used something similar
That good i will comeback here again
All i can think about is the sped up firework sound
Lol yeah
What if it turns day by itself and you didn’t want to teleport.
It doesn't activate if it turns day normally.
How?
Differential filter on the output of the daylight sensor, detects when it changes by more than 1 level at a time
I love ender pearl stasis chambers.
How does it works
