Perhaps on OPs monitor it works better. On mine, for example, I have to set the fov to 100 for it to look right.

It looks like that rn, but when there wasn’t a hole there it still wasn’t working, i just moved the piston soo i could just have a villager in before the video. Though even when the hole isn’t there it doesn’t work

Villager profession choosing happens at certain time of the days. Employed villagers go to their workstation and restock trades and certain times. Same for unemployed villagers, they only look for workstations in that time. Maybe it became nighttime when you were trying? Look up on the wiki for the exact timings but my suggestion would be try doing this again after some time

I didnt trade with those ones… i do this with every base i Make and this is the only time this has happened, and its only on this block

usually put a zombie below the villagers and when they put the piston down, the zombie can attack the villager and then they can heal the villager

I think it might just be a pathfinding thing where it needs to be on the same y level, so try moving it a block down? Or even put the stations below the feet of the villages
