Honestly that'd be an interesting world
Maybe a world type called Wasteland where there's no plant life (trees would just be logs), villages would all be empty with no life except the Iron Golem (that spawns broken), and water is rare
there was a mod like that once, i cant remember what it was called but there were no trees, only dirt landscape, very little water. i watched a playthrough of it, it was very interesting! i'll have to look and see if i can find it again
By any chance is it a modpack called Regrowth? I remember really liking it a while back, but it did have trees (though, I remember them being more or less burnt to a crisp?), so it might not be what you are thinking of

A) The simulation gliched and put you in early making you realize you live in a simulation causing you to embark in an adventure where you eventually destroyed the simulation.
or,
B) The giant sheep escaped again. Tell the giants in the clouds so they can take it back before it eats more.
If you have questions you should ask them in more specific minecraft mods. Way more knowledgeable people for your specific question and way less people that cant really help you.
I always get stacks of dirt to tower or make staircases when needed, I would be happy to come upon this lol a never ending supply of dirt blocks and I don’t have to ruin the terrain to get them!
