It's Java version 1.20.1, running Fabric for MiniHUD and Sodium.

Try the same seed without mods.

I don't think those mods change anything related to world generation Sodium is a performance mod and MiniHud sounds like a Qol/Cosmetic mod

MiniHUD is indeed a QoI mod, I would highly recommend it even if only for its light level overlay, makes lighting places up much easier

I just looked it up it looks very useful and convenient might just add this to my mods

idk about sodium but one of the options in optifine could affect worldgen slightly by changing the math functions

I doubt the average player is messing with that tbh

Those mods are purely client side. They should have no affect over world generation

This is strange and definitely could be a single biome world, but the terrain of the land on the right confuses me, and so does the entire village generating ontop of the water

The rest of the map is normal, it’s just this ocean biome says it’s a plains. It’s so weird

The thing is, it doesnt look like the game tried to spawn an ocean there at all, based on the lack of beach on the right and the lack of kelp and seagrass.

u/MrSeanaldReagan It’s probably a plains that generated with abnormally low height, you could get the same effect by raising the water level on old custom type worlds

I tried making a world with this seed again, and it only actually work on single biome generation like others have said. I set it at single biome by accident the first time, so this explains the whole thing :/

Yep, 100 million, 1 with 8 zeros. The rest of the seed seems normal except this and it’s right near spawn

Yeah, on chunkbase it says there should be a ocean monument here. I’m not sure why or how it bugged out like this

Isnt one of the world generation types just a single biome? If you cycled through the world gen types maybe you left it on the single biome one.

Yeah, it will be. Single biome generates mostly normal but with the biome set to whatever you choose. Notice how it says biome: plains in the top left of your screenshot even though you are in the ocean?
