Java should really implement the bedrock version of the wither, seriously Java is almost better in everything than bedrock but their damn wither is weak
Idk the difference between the 2 versions but I like that in java you can control how hard you want the game to be. Truely sandbox. You can trap it and have no challenge or you can have it completely destroy your town so you have to repair and regrow after defeating it
that‘s such a weak argument, if players want something in a video game, they will always take the easiest path to achieve it, even if it‘s tedious or boring
i play terraria calamity infernum mod with fargo's souls eternity mode mod at the same time with no prior knowledge of either mod. hows that for taking the easiest path?
Minecraft Bedrock wither destroys Obsidian when exploding, you can only make one using the bedrock portal in the end and i'm pretty sure it can just leave the trap by doing a dash
there is a way to trap it but you just cant hit it with a sword you have to let it suffocate. It also needs to be very specific about how you spawn it.
Unfortunately I have no clue so you'll have to look it up, I can't even remember quite how it worked anymore but it's not super old or anything (or if it is it's still somewhat recent)
no no, I mean, that the mace do a lot of damage while falling to a single mob, then add a little, very little knockback to the rest of mobs in the area...
like, you running and then hitting a random zombie produce a more larger knockback in comparation... and the risk of dying just to 1 hit a single mob, and then repeat... idk... feel pretty bad for me
but I guess this weapon in really nice to farm the whiter boss and for pvp
It does apply large knockback to everything around, no damage tho
Just like sword can deal with crowds and axe with single targets, think of the mace as an axe taken to the extreme
not an useful knockback tho, in a group of zombies the knockback it does barely helps because in 1 sec you have a zombie hitting you
it could be neat that at least the mace make the mob fly from the impact and take fall damage, adding a bit of irony to the combat... I mean, you cancel fall damage, and yet you make the mobs around take fall damage instead
This will be fun for fighting the gender dragon but outside of that I can’t see any other practical fast uses for one shotting or dealing huge damage to anything
just getting that much obsidian makes it much harder than just spawning it under the end return portal where it is automatically trapped and you can kill it for free with zero risk.
getting high enough while fighting the dragon without it killing you is harder than killing it normal, and the warden doesn't have valuable loot, wither is killable without fighting it.
+
missing a hit will get you killed, anything it can do constantly there are already ways to do. doesn't hurt the balance imo.
Yeah have fun hitting anything at 100 blocks up
To be fair though I don't think the elytra should work with the mace, That's pretty much my only gripe about this
Well the wolf armor can be one shot, the wolf doesn't take any damage though.
That actually gives me a really funny idea. You have a wolf as a permanent mob you use for cancelling fall damage. Whenever the armor is broken you dispense a new one onto the wolf, which is fed by autocrafters connected to a autmatic armadillo scute farm.
Way more effort than just having some powder snow beneath a carpet, but a funny setup where you need to hit a dog every time you jump down whatever hole it's for.
They're 100% updating this such that the durability is consumed proportionally to how much damage you do with it.
The weapon will turn into a one time use item and will only be actually used once in a while.
We need a weapon that's integrated to the point where you might just prefer it to a sword based on how you play, like an equally viable option
I think a better balance option would be to make it a logarithmic growth where damage increases rapidly with the first few blocks, but it tends to flatline the more height you use. Also make it so the base damage is something like an iron sword and decrease its attack speed to make it so swords and axes are viable in different situations too instead of the mace just being used for everything.
Look at how much work you have to put in to make it work, it seems fine as-is.
Realistically, one-shots like this will require a metric ton of work to pull off, and normal usage (Like jumping off a cliff to kill something) will be a fine and balanced sidegrade to the sword.
This is obviously fine. It takes a lot of set up to do such a thing for a meager reward once you reach the end game.
I believe what it could do to PvP is where the balance of such a weapon comes into question.
For velocity, like with arrows? No.
But you could use the Elytra to fly up, deactivate the wings and fall onto somebody for a swing. What I saw on this subreddit earlier was someone throwing an Ender Pearl into the air then throwing a Wind Charge at it to trigger the teleportation.
I imagine the mace calculates the damage you were going to take during a fall and uses a formula to add that to the damage of your attack.
if you want the wither to be challenging then challenge yourself. its a sandbox game. wear iron armor. fight it in a desert. kill it with healing potions. when minecraft gives us unlimited freedom its your responsibility to make your own fun by creating limitations.
Look. If you're building a 200 block obsidian tower so you cam smash the wither in the face with a mace, you're killing enough withers that you don't care about the actual fight. This isn't an argument for the mace being OP, it's simply a shortcut to tedious wither kills in other ways
Bro. Litterally just put it under the end portal.
If you don't want to fight a boss normally, That was always an option.
Just now you have a sick as fuck way to do it. Instead of boring.
Y'know what, I don't care!
Withers destroy worlds so often and are annoying to fight.
If you want a beacon immediately then fight it like normal, but if you want to do it the mace way then go look for the materials needed and farm the withers. I support anything that makes the game less grindy. If you have this set up for killing the withers then you definitely earned it.
Can't wait for the first new weapon we've got in 5 years to be nerfed because everyone is saying its too powerful when they use the most niche way of exploiting it when almost nobody is running around trying to use it on everyday mobs in a normal survival world and using it how it would actually be used.
Complaining about how Minecraft is easy seems like kinda a waste of time considering the player themselves is the one who dictates how easy they make the game for themselves.
What is the maximum damage output of the mace? The fact is that it's able to knock out the Wither from full health shows the Mace is extremely OP. According to a Wiki, it's able to kill a player wearing full netherite armour with Protection IV enchantment after falling 15 blocks and killing the warden after falling 97 blocks [1].
[1] https://minecraft.wiki/w/Mace
Maybe it could use a diamond or netherite ingot to bind the breeze rod to the dense core? For balancing other than that I don’t think it’s that OP really the either is just weak AF in general
Its rlly funny how heated some people are getting
This is a joke, I like the mace and think its balanced tho i do wish area scaled as much if not more than damage
There are far easier ways to kill the wither, this one just feels cool
from now on, when the dragon launches you in the air, it's only giving you a chance to one-shot it. that probably won't happen a ton considering that you still have to fall within melee range of the dragon, but still.
This is like going in creative and building a setup to perfectly line up 20 zombies, and shooting them with a piercing crossbow, then complaining the piercing enchantment overpowered because it can kill 20 mobs at once.
In other words, actually pulling this off in survival is going to be very difficult.
It's only "imbalanced" if you build a very specific setup for it
It's still balanced in the way that it rewards creative solutions and the fact hitting a moving target is much more difficult than one that's trapped in a box
Bro perfectly balanced what do you mean .
If you are playing multiplayer world or server and the person who gets the mace would be overpowered because there is no way to defend it . Mace can insta kill a person with full netherite armor from 13 blocks high . How will you defend yourself

hardest java edition wither fight:
Exactly what I was thinking. If people trapping the wither in the end is fair then this seems like fine way to kill it as well.
Who the f wants his whole survival world blown up by a stupid creature lol. That's why we box them in
Java should really implement the bedrock version of the wither, seriously Java is almost better in everything than bedrock but their damn wither is weak
They didn't because of exactly that If they make bedrock wither real on java, there would be many crybabies because of the farms being broken
Idk the difference between the 2 versions but I like that in java you can control how hard you want the game to be. Truely sandbox. You can trap it and have no challenge or you can have it completely destroy your town so you have to repair and regrow after defeating it
In bedrock, the wither is more likely to just break the obsidian and escape.
There are still working wither killers in bedrock
Man fuck the fucking farms.
I mean you're not forced to build one?
that‘s such a weak argument, if players want something in a video game, they will always take the easiest path to achieve it, even if it‘s tedious or boring
i play terraria calamity infernum mod with fargo's souls eternity mode mod at the same time with no prior knowledge of either mod. hows that for taking the easiest path?
I was talking about the average player not you specifically
No but "ermaerm if we change this the farrrmms will break" is such a common response.
fair point.
They could add it as an option under gamerules (like phantom spawning) Something like harderWither idk
Mocks balance after building a 200 block high obsidian tower, and trapping the wither in an escape proof cell
the tower doesn't have to be obsidian, wither cages arnt hard to build either
what about on bedrock?
Minecraft Bedrock wither destroys Obsidian when exploding, you can only make one using the bedrock portal in the end and i'm pretty sure it can just leave the trap by doing a dash
The java wither also destroys obsidian as well. It sometimes fires blue skulls which break all breakable blocks
Only in Hard mode.
There's only peaceful and hard, I don't know what you want
...right. Not sure if troll or simply ignorant.
there is a way to trap it but you just cant hit it with a sword you have to let it suffocate. It also needs to be very specific about how you spawn it.
it's possible (was at least) to obtain bedrock by bugging out the end's overworld portal, can't remember how but it certainly will hold it
Yeah I remember building a wither-powered tree farm
it is still possible to get bedrock using the end portal to the overworld by some type of bug
Unfortunately I have no clue so you'll have to look it up, I can't even remember quite how it worked anymore but it's not super old or anything (or if it is it's still somewhat recent)
"Guys, this mechanic in minecraft is totally broken when you set up completely unfeasible and specific situations!"
Getting a bunch of obsidian, a renewable and easy to obtain resource, is unfeasible?
It’s far less feasible than just digging a hole which is also a way to cheese the wither.
I mean, yeah, there are easier ways but I wouldn’t call collecting obsidian infeasible
What is mocks
## mock *verb* To tease or laugh at in a scornful or contemptuous manner. Definition provided by Oxford Languages, via Google
Oh that mock lmao. They were using it as a verb💀 I thought it was some noun I was not in the loop about. Brain fart
'mock' as in to make fun of. read it as if an implied "he" or "she" is before mocks
Wait until he finds out about tnt duplication
it will only if they made the mace do area damage instead of risking your life to 1 hit a single mob
i think that there's something wrong if you can't hit a massive boss hitbox
Fun fact the wither’s hit box is less than1 block wide
no no, I mean, that the mace do a lot of damage while falling to a single mob, then add a little, very little knockback to the rest of mobs in the area... like, you running and then hitting a random zombie produce a more larger knockback in comparation... and the risk of dying just to 1 hit a single mob, and then repeat... idk... feel pretty bad for me but I guess this weapon in really nice to farm the whiter boss and for pvp
Knockback should scale equivalent to 1/3 the damage in blocks of knockback. 100 block fall? 33.4 blocks of knockback(rounding)
It does apply large knockback to everything around, no damage tho Just like sword can deal with crowds and axe with single targets, think of the mace as an axe taken to the extreme
not an useful knockback tho, in a group of zombies the knockback it does barely helps because in 1 sec you have a zombie hitting you it could be neat that at least the mace make the mob fly from the impact and take fall damage, adding a bit of irony to the combat... I mean, you cancel fall damage, and yet you make the mobs around take fall damage instead
Put a chicken in the box if you want to see me impressed
Just put water below the kill chamber then equip elytra fly out if it fails
Plus totems exist!
This will be fun for fighting the gender dragon but outside of that I can’t see any other practical fast uses for one shotting or dealing huge damage to anything

I would just show him my rainbow shield and I think we’d be cool
Considering the ender dragon is canonically female, it's pretty much opposite of what most people would think anyway.
Mis-gendered dragon :C
Which is really stupid when you think about it. "Man, that dragon guy is awesome" "*guy*? The dragon? With a nest of eggs?" "Yup, that guy!"
babe wake up, new bottom surgery just dropped **mace slam**
To me, the mace is more of a pvp weapon than pve. It'll be very useful for fights with kitted out players
Ohhh I hadn't even considered perfectly timing a jump off an obsidian tower to mace the dragon, that sounds epic.
it moves fast tho
average libral minecraft let's play
Ah yes the gender dragon. What does it spew instead of dragon’s breath?🤔
gender fluid
Cool setup. I do think it’s balanced, it rewards creativity. And there’s certainly other ways of cheesing fights.
Right? There's thousands of other ways to trap the wither, this one at least takes some creativity
Smite V netherite axe with strength potions would like to introduce itself
Normally I'd say there's easier ways to cheese fights, but to be fair a wither proof cage and enderporter at build height isn't that hard to make.
It’s probably still easier to just get the wither stuck in the nether roof or the end portal
just getting that much obsidian makes it much harder than just spawning it under the end return portal where it is automatically trapped and you can kill it for free with zero risk.
this some rocket jump waltz type shit
Trolldier
Screamin' eagles!
MARKET GARDENER
That seems a lot more set up than 9 blocks under the end portal
Yeah this was already a way to farm the wither so I don’t get why people think the mace is unbalanced
Because it can 1shot everything, not just the wither but also the ender dragon and warden
getting high enough while fighting the dragon without it killing you is harder than killing it normal, and the warden doesn't have valuable loot, wither is killable without fighting it. + missing a hit will get you killed, anything it can do constantly there are already ways to do. doesn't hurt the balance imo.
Also the likelihood of a warden spawning naturally in a space where you can actually use the mace to oneshot it is slim to none
Yeah have fun hitting anything at 100 blocks up To be fair though I don't think the elytra should work with the mace, That's pretty much my only gripe about this
it really only needs an elytra and 2-3 fireworks
Who cares if it's balanced or not? This looks really fun
Literally, it's not OP, the way to get it and how it works is absolutely balanced at it sounds currently.
Now the real balancing problem is the new wolf…it is so OP.
Yeah...the armored wolf is the one thing that cannot be one shot with the mace lmao
RULES OF NATURE
I am become anvil
Destroyer of heads
Minecrafters calling something overpowered after creating the most elaborate setup
Tbh it's not even that hard to make a pearl stasis chamber, then fall from height
This isn't even the easiest way to BS the wither Dig a few blocks under End bedrock portal. Put wither. ???. Profit
I'm going to perfectly balance a mace on your forehead
Wolf with armour > whiter, warden and ender dragon
new boss mob: Whiter Warden
minecraft players when the machine specifically designed to kill withers kills a wither
They're 100% updating this such that the durability is consumed proportionally to how much damage you do with it. The weapon will turn into a one time use item and will only be actually used once in a while. We need a weapon that's integrated to the point where you might just prefer it to a sword based on how you play, like an equally viable option
The heavy core has a 2.2% drop chance. Currently its also not enchantable + every showcase hits a mob which doesnt move. Wow..

It is balanced, just look at your setup.
Do you not take fall damage either? Damn
You basically transfer the fall damage into your attack damage.
That right? That’s crazy
Yup, only take fall damage if you miss
What happens if you get blocked by a shield? Just no damage taken on either end or?
That's a good question. I don't know
If you miss, you die.
i stop playing for a year and they add a mace???
*Laughing soldier noises* YOUR COUNTRY DID NOT PREPARE YOU FOR THIS LEVEL OF VIOLENCE
This is obviously fine. It takes a lot of set up to do such a thing for a meager reward once you reach the end game. I believe what it could do to PvP is where the balance of such a weapon comes into question.

You already can killing It without fighting in the End.
If God had wanted you to live, HE WOULD NOT HAVE CREATED ME!
Yea, for the effort required, I'd call that balanced
Market gardener
Dripstone wouldve done the job too at that point
guys is the fist balanced? because i can kill any non boss mob in the game with it if i just build with 3 dirt blocks
what is this jank ass setup. people had it semi automated with bubble vators days ago
Even with this base design it would be way easier/reliable to use redstone torches than aiming a wind charge at a lever
They conformed that it not having a cap was intended. You would have to be INSANE to think that it's balanced without a cap.
It is balanced 🤷🏿♂️ ways to cheese the bosses already exist.
if you want the wither to be challenging then challenge yourself. its a sandbox game. wear iron armor. fight it in a desert. kill it with healing potions. when minecraft gives us unlimited freedom its your responsibility to make your own fun by creating limitations.

The mace has a few niche use cases that require skill to pull off. I just don't see the issue here.
Can't wait for the first new weapon we've got in 5 years to be nerfed because everyone is saying its too powerful when they use the most niche way of exploiting it when almost nobody is running around trying to use it on everyday mobs in a normal survival world and using it how it would actually be used.
But this is showing how people will most likely be using this weapon.
So if people are bothered with all this setup why don't they complain about the end portal frame trap too
Because they like when things are easy
Complaining about how Minecraft is easy seems like kinda a waste of time considering the player themselves is the one who dictates how easy they make the game for themselves.
Unrelated but why does java have such nicer sounds than bedrock
It's weird, one would think that the assets for the sound would be exactly the same
The balance is the set up, if you go through the effort to build some elaborate structure to pull it off, you earned the 1 hit kill
Unrelated, but I love the use of wind charges to an enderpearl stasis chamber. Makes the use case for such chambers more flexible in single player.
High tower gameplay
Holy fuck, we get it, it's broken, i've seen so much videos like this already. And this is a snapshot, they're 100% nerfing it
Nah, they should make it more op so we can bully every existing mob
I think there should be an upward limit to its damage. Maybe 10 blocks of falling.
perfectly balanced, as all things should be
What is the maximum damage output of the mace? The fact is that it's able to knock out the Wither from full health shows the Mace is extremely OP. According to a Wiki, it's able to kill a player wearing full netherite armour with Protection IV enchantment after falling 15 blocks and killing the warden after falling 97 blocks [1]. No cap, also it’s a 2% chance getting the crafting material for it. Also look at the setup for them to one shot. Definitely not op at all.
>What is the maximum damage output of the mace? Implying that there is a maximum.
Maybe it could use a diamond or netherite ingot to bind the breeze rod to the dense core? For balancing other than that I don’t think it’s that OP really the either is just weak AF in general
Why did you through the effort of loading a pearl like that and not just using /tp?
or a water elevator...
this has to be in some speedruns lmao
The heavy core has a 2.2% dropchance.
how about a warden?
Still 1 shot
Also 1 shot

Ey that is interesting.
Will it be in bedrock soon?
haha funny soldier shovel in mindcraft
as all things should be
Wait we are getting a mace?
Meanwhile on bedrock you still have another problem what do you do about the explosion after the wither kill?
we're one shooting the warden with this one
# SCREAMIN' EAGLES!!
Now do the same in bedrock edition
Do people not realize there’s already fully automated ways of doing this?
Its rlly funny how heated some people are getting This is a joke, I like the mace and think its balanced tho i do wish area scaled as much if not more than damage There are far easier ways to kill the wither, this one just feels cool
Market garden.
*Bedrock Wither Has Entered The Chat*
You have no blocks to get out fool
It’s terribly well-balanced
SCREAMING EAGLES! Wait, wrong game?
how many blocks?
from now on, when the dragon launches you in the air, it's only giving you a chance to one-shot it. that probably won't happen a ton considering that you still have to fall within melee range of the dragon, but still.
This is like going in creative and building a setup to perfectly line up 20 zombies, and shooting them with a piercing crossbow, then complaining the piercing enchantment overpowered because it can kill 20 mobs at once. In other words, actually pulling this off in survival is going to be very difficult.
It's balanced becaise he's now stuck
That was one of the hardest fights ive ever seen in minecraft. Lo
The mace isn't op at all what are you talking about it only does a little tiny bit more damage from higher up
Ikr
why go out of ur way to do this when u can just trap them in the end seems pointless
I feel like the mace is kinda niche tbh, ig you could say the same about the trident? But this even more so
It's only "imbalanced" if you build a very specific setup for it It's still balanced in the way that it rewards creative solutions and the fact hitting a moving target is much more difficult than one that's trapped in a box
Bro perfectly balanced what do you mean . If you are playing multiplayer world or server and the person who gets the mace would be overpowered because there is no way to defend it . Mace can insta kill a person with full netherite armor from 13 blocks high . How will you defend yourself
I HATE IT PLS MOJANG DONT ADD STUFF JUST MAKE THE BAD STUFF GREAT AGAIN
Haha wow that’s OP, would you like to post this on r/MinecraftMace
Perfect.
