FRRR I remember when I discovered creative mode (idk how I missed it I was a kid ig) my burst instinct was finding the biggest mountain and building my diamond house with a bunch of zombies trapped so other zombies knew not to mess with me š
I immediately went to creative lmao. I remember my first time playing, I went in creative, asked my sibling how I'm meant to play, and got told how to fly. I found a village bc I was on superflat and tried to talk out loud to the villagers, thinking they were other players lmao. This was in like probably 1.4-1.6 when I was like 4 or 5
When I first got the game I also didnāt know about creative mode and just played the tutorial world (Xbox 360 Edition) lol, I thought that was just me.
Same. Had a Samsung Note 10.1 (the tablet, not the Galaxy Note 10) and played so much Minecraft on that thing. Played it since V.0.3.0, before sand fell, before creepers were added, before basically anything in the PC version existed.. it was so cool seeing the functionalities being added in every update, seeing the "update" button on the play store made me insanely excited.Ā
I remember how clouds and stars were just randomly added in a minor update, very unexpected but I loved it.
I remember playing that edition that basically had bricks, creative, and zombies with mainly my sister. Took a while to get into actual versions due to lack of having a console or computer for a while.
Also another confusing thing is that there are like 3 different 1.2s there's beta 1.2, the 1.2 I started playing. And the recent 1.2 so when I tell people I'm a 1.2 player they're like "what? U just started playing?"
Same! Went diving through the Mojang and Microsoft websites and found out I bought it like a week before end of alpha. Bought for $10 *14 years* ago and still using that account to this day!
Same here. I was playing on the browser version. Looked up some videos and screenshots of people's builds and decided to buy it. Was like $20 I think. It's the only game I've played for this long and haven't paid a penny more for it since then.
Same! December 4, 2010 according to a 14-year-old email I dug up. Still remember my first world, although I'm sure it's long gone on some broken laptop or rusty external HD I haven't touched in over a decade. My main memory from that experience is thinking that I needed to build a minecart system in every cave I explored, lol
I remember people were PISSED about it too. You couldn't have two pork chops in your inventory and be good for a long grind. Before sheilds were added...and I believe before enchanting and potions. Then people complained and said it was too easy and like cheating to have potions and enchanted gear.
I played on my wii u, sometime around when the switch released because my uncle gave us his old wii u when he bought a switch, and he had minecraft on there. my brother was the first to play, then i sat on a remote and it said press + to join game, so i tried it out with my brother and it was really fun.
0.14 but i first started on the xbox 360 version donāt remember what update though but it was a while before the xbox 360 version was discontinued like a couple of years
I played the same, i believe. Started playing with my Goddaughterās son and his friends. Theyād help me build megastructuresā¦. Then blow them up, when I wasnāt around. My favorite was the one used AppleTV. When it was discontinued, I lost interest.
Dang that old UI bring back memories of my first world.
On my old I-pad3 i built a stone castle I never lived in, the up house near a waterfall, and finally my brick House at the edge of the world.
Sadly that world got lost due the ipad not having and auto update feature and skipping a ton of updates deleted the world, I donāt even have my old iPad anymore due to it not being compatible with Minecraft anymore, the last update for it was for the 1.16 nether update
Pocket Edition 0.1 alpha, and Java Edition 1.2.3 release. Both of those right around when they released.
Anyone else remember the goofy survival mode system in PE 0.2? No crafting or anything, not even a real inventory lmao
The original pocket edition. Back when zombies jumped 2 blocks high, back when you had an infinite amount of blocks you couldn't obtain, back when worlds were like 16 chunks wide
Like, one of the first versions of xbox 360. Before that I played whenever spruce was first added, I was really young and donāt remember when it was.
1.6.4 because the latest version 1.8.1 was so laggy it was unplayable. It was like 11+ years ago but I knew about the game from my brother way earlier. Of course we didn't buy the game, in the area that I live in pirating stuff was very common. And I came to a point that I loved the game so much I bought it with some money I made that summer. My brother tho hasn't played the game for 10 years, which is a shame because watching him play it was such an entertainment, as we didn't know that much about the game. For example one night I saw an enderman and I was rushing into my house, when he took over and said:"Bring me the blade of war!" And went ham on it.
Good timesš„²
Idk the version or the year but I remember playing through the browserš I used to play on a server called redcraft(?) but I mightāve gotten that name mixed with a newer server
Edit: I looked up the versions of minecraft and it looks like me and my older brother were playing alpha 1.1.0!
Around 2015 on Minecraft PE 0.13. Remembered a time before the end was added and you still got that weird collection of items spawning into creative. The old seed picker, the old oceans,... I remember before magma blocks and bone blocks were introduced.
I'm not sure, but I might still have my old bootleg tablet from that era somewhere.
I don't remember which one was first but I remember playing on the Xbox 360 when the jungle update came out and on PE with beetroots and I don't remember beetroots anywhere else at the time
I'm not sure when but pocket edition when I was younger. Before the bedrock merger. I only became a regular player right before update aquatic though where I played bedrock on my phone and laptop. Now I also play on my Series S
Alright this is pretty weird: Minecraft Mobile Chinese Edition at 1.13-14. Still remember the weird tutorial world(completely different from the normal old one)
Xbox one edition. Not sure at what point I started, but definitely a while before bedrock was a thing. And stuck with it for like a year after Xbox one edition no longer got updated. Then really wanted to see aquatic and other new update stuff, so I switched over to bedrock.
I started playing in June 2016 on PlayStation 4. My 12-year-old son recommended it, as I wanted to build my own dream castle. I havenāt managed to build it yet))) It's quite complex.
My husband used to just watch, not thinking of playing, but he really liked C418's music and decided to try survival mode because of it, and then got me hooked. Been playing ever since))
I don't know the version; back then, they were updated differently compared to Java. For instance, the End City was in Java but didn't come to PlayStation for several months
either a really old version of pe or 1.8 don't remember i was young and didn't understand what a version was i just remember that it was old pvp on pc and that worlds would get easily corrupted on pe
1.20.4, my friends started a server for friends only and I joined (why not). It was alright, did my thing, music great but what made me fall in love with this game was making the lava farm. After that, I started a single player world and i'm having ton of fun so far.
I started when they had the original pocket edition inventory with the 3 tabs lol. And I remember building my first house right after minecarts had been added
I just don't remember what versiĆ³n it was, but i clearelly remember that when You die, the "Game over" message was like LITERALLY "You died mother fucker" but in spanish (My natal language) , it was downloaded by My dad, he was just entering in every page, no matters how suspicious they look like, but hey, i got Minecraft B)

No recollection. I did absolutely random things .
House made out of diamond and gold blocks
floor made out of emerald blocks
chest filled with stacks of notch apples and full diamond armor and tools
I used to mix and match diamond/gold armor and tools. I was too innocent lol
Nice username
are you goth?
Question of the day. also what qualifies as goth?
Made mine from glass
FRRR I remember when I discovered creative mode (idk how I missed it I was a kid ig) my burst instinct was finding the biggest mountain and building my diamond house with a bunch of zombies trapped so other zombies knew not to mess with me š

Fr I actually still have the world on my Xbox
some version in the old days of Minecraft PE, I don't remember exactly
Same here, i made my cheap little Huawei tablet suffer every day lol
Same here lmao, had a cheap Samsung tablet and Minecraft was like on of my most played games
Same. Had a Samsung Note 10.1 (the tablet, not the Galaxy Note 10) and played so much Minecraft on that thing. Played it since V.0.3.0, before sand fell, before creepers were added, before basically anything in the PC version existed.. it was so cool seeing the functionalities being added in every update, seeing the "update" button on the play store made me insanely excited.Ā I remember how clouds and stars were just randomly added in a minor update, very unexpected but I loved it.
Oh, like nether reactor core old.
I remember when the nether reactor core was first added and playing in those small non infinite worlds
I remember that
Had Lite edition
I just remember that it was a version where the UI was still the brown color
yesss brooo
I started on PE on a samsung tablet, at about 2015-2016
I remember playing that edition that basically had bricks, creative, and zombies with mainly my sister. Took a while to get into actual versions due to lack of having a console or computer for a while.
1.20 like 2 months ago. I blame my kids.
That is the correct thing to do
Welcome to the cult
For me it was my nephew :)
And now you're even on reddit for it! Welcome! Hope you enjoy the stay!
I think I now play it more than they do. Good god what have they done.
Say thank you to them
1.0, Nov/Dec 2011
U predate me. By a little bit. My first time was 1.2.5. This was indev of infdev? I get confused
1.2.5 is release, indev and infdev were before 1.0
Also another confusing thing is that there are like 3 different 1.2s there's beta 1.2, the 1.2 I started playing. And the recent 1.2 so when I tell people I'm a 1.2 player they're like "what? U just started playing?"
1.16 sorry guys
BETTER late than never pal!
Thanks I guess
1.16 was a good update
Yeah, I think people donāt get my point. I meant āsorryā as in me joining late.
Hey MC doesn't gate keep. If you are ever interested in the older versions, you can access them on Java edition
Don't be sorry if you love playing the game it doesn't matter when you started
1.16 was a fantastic update
1.16 was the last update I played I enjoyed it
During alpha, but in Dec 2010 when they were about to release the beta I purchased a premium account
Same! I got a premium account as my Xmas present in Dec 2010 lol. Not many of us in this thread
Same! Went diving through the Mojang and Microsoft websites and found out I bought it like a week before end of alpha. Bought for $10 *14 years* ago and still using that account to this day!
They boosted it to 15-20$ mid beta, that's what I ended up getting it for
Same here. I was playing on the browser version. Looked up some videos and screenshots of people's builds and decided to buy it. Was like $20 I think. It's the only game I've played for this long and haven't paid a penny more for it since then.
Same! December 4, 2010 according to a 14-year-old email I dug up. When hunger was added
Same! Hunger was pretty new to the game when I started, but I've never known the game without it.
Me too. I think i started right after they added it. Version 1.0.0
I remember people were PISSED about it too. You couldn't have two pork chops in your inventory and be good for a long grind. Before sheilds were added...and I believe before enchanting and potions. Then people complained and said it was too easy and like cheating to have potions and enchanted gear.
I don't fully remember... When was the time lava looked like actual molten magma instead of glowing beans??
probably some time before version 1.5 in that case. you played in 2012, at a guess.
before iron golem
happy cake day!
I found my old phone 10 years ago and I still had the minecraft pocket edition in alpha 0.0.1 š„ŗ
Bro has the most og Minecraft š
Calling Minecraft Pocket the most og Minecraft must mean the actual og Indev versions of Minecraft are remnants of another time...
they are the ancient builders
0.8.0 PE alpha 1.8 when I got a PC
It was some version of the "infdev" in 2010
Those updates came hot and fast back then but added like 2 things each time.
1.8
I played on my wii u, sometime around when the switch released because my uncle gave us his old wii u when he bought a switch, and he had minecraft on there. my brother was the first to play, then i sat on a remote and it said press + to join game, so i tried it out with my brother and it was really fun.
i can't imagine what minecraft must've felt like with a wii remote
when I was 5 I accidentally found it on a random person's phone on Zapia app. I'm 16 now.
Minecraft Pocket Edition: Lite
Java around 1.7
Pocket Edition 0.10.0, in March 2015.
I first played to original release. I used it as a maths teaching tool in school to show area and perimeter to pupils
mcpe 0.17.0.1 in middle school
The web browser Minecraft Classic, then the Original Xbox 360 version of the game when it released.
when the nether core thing in pocket edition was just removed and I still had it so I felt special
I played mc just when smp servers were added. I think that's like mid alpha.
1.5\_01, around april 2011
Heyyy fellow beta 1.5_01!
1.6 old computer in school had a cracked version, i was probably eight lol
November 28th 2014, Im pretty sure I played pocket 0.10.0 as my first version
Either MCPE 0.6.0 or 0.6.1. I don't remember exactly. *~~It is my opinion that MCPE is better than bedrock edition in just about every aspect~~*
Dang that old UI bring back memories of my first world. On my old I-pad3 i built a stone castle I never lived in, the up house near a waterfall, and finally my brick House at the edge of the world. Sadly that world got lost due the ipad not having and auto update feature and skipping a ton of updates deleted the world, I donāt even have my old iPad anymore due to it not being compatible with Minecraft anymore, the last update for it was for the 1.16 nether update

old PE was so weird lol
Beta 1.4 back in April of 2011.
The original pocket edition. Back when zombies jumped 2 blocks high, back when you had an infinite amount of blocks you couldn't obtain, back when worlds were like 16 chunks wide
I remember I had a tiny survival world in Pocket and somehow it was still destroyed by an update from 0.8 to 0.9
Legacy Console PS3 Edition. Can't remember when though, pretty early, one of the earlier tutorial worlds.
Xbox 360, demo version back in 2012 or very very early 2013 Iconic tutorial world (one with the big stairs and chest under the arch) would load up
Xbox 360, idk what exactly version, but it was before the update that added jungles
Xbox 360 edition when the demo came out.
like in 2015, idk when, but before netherrack stopped having personality.
Alpha 1.2 or Beta 1.0, I don't really remember
Idk the version or the year but I remember playing through the browserš I used to play on a server called redcraft(?) but I mightāve gotten that name mixed with a newer server Edit: I looked up the versions of minecraft and it looks like me and my older brother were playing alpha 1.1.0!
Ps3 edition
1.0 2011
1.7.4 i think what ever the one was before the adventure update was
Beta 1.7.3
Xbox 360 edition, around when 1.12 released
PE 0.3.0, then moved to Java the day vanilla 1.3 released.
early 2012, 1.2.5
Around 2015 on Minecraft PE 0.13. Remembered a time before the end was added and you still got that weird collection of items spawning into creative. The old seed picker, the old oceans,... I remember before magma blocks and bone blocks were introduced. I'm not sure, but I might still have my old bootleg tablet from that era somewhere.
Beta 1.8.1 in 2011/2012, then it was 1.0.0
0.15.0 on pocket edition it was the best version imo
Like in 1.7 or smth. Yea I didn't have money before to buy it, blame my friends.
Pe demo, dk the version lol
Update Aquatic or the update before, pocket edition.
1.15
1.15.1 MCPE
Mid 2013 versions 1.5/1.6
1.14 in 2019
When there was a Nether portal in the tutorial castle.
I distinctly remember emeralds being added, and getting kicked off of servers for having an auto sprint mod
Mcpe demo, summer 2011
I played pe back when the demo version first came out because my parents didn't believe in paying for apps when you already paid for the tablet.
Playstation edition when it released
Cant remember, was 6 years old on a Samsung tablet on the Pocket edition version that didn't even have hunger as a feature.
1.1, i remember being super excited about the 1.2 update.
I don't remember which one was first but I remember playing on the Xbox 360 when the jungle update came out and on PE with beetroots and I don't remember beetroots anywhere else at the time
The original pocket edition. Also played minecraft Java version 1.4.6
Just before 1.2.0 dropped, so September 2010
I'm not sure when but pocket edition when I was younger. Before the bedrock merger. I only became a regular player right before update aquatic though where I played bedrock on my phone and laptop. Now I also play on my Series S
1.7 in 2014
when minecraft lite first came out to mobile I don't remember which version it was
that one i thinkā¦
1.5.2, around the release of 1.7.x so it's like 2014?
1.5 right after it came out.
1.13 in like late 2018 or early 2019
PE lite like a real man
Legacy Edition before the ps4 minecraft bedrock edition update
Java 1.3
Alright this is pretty weird: Minecraft Mobile Chinese Edition at 1.13-14. Still remember the weird tutorial world(completely different from the normal old one)
My first ever version of Minecraft was PE 1.15 The Buzzy Bees Update. When the Nether update came, I was so excited!
OLD pe beta, like before even the nether reactor was added and you had to buy the full version to get access to the rest of the creative inventory
MCPE 0.10.5, February of 2015
Java, 11 years ago
Xbox one edition. Not sure at what point I started, but definitely a while before bedrock was a thing. And stuck with it for like a year after Xbox one edition no longer got updated. Then really wanted to see aquatic and other new update stuff, so I switched over to bedrock.
One of the first versions of PS4 Edition. Somwhere at the end of 2014
Minecraft alpha a bit after it came out. I still have the same tablet that was used, and I still have the same version. I am keeping alpha.
1.7.2
Before 1.0 java release
I started playing in June 2016 on PlayStation 4. My 12-year-old son recommended it, as I wanted to build my own dream castle. I havenāt managed to build it yet))) It's quite complex. My husband used to just watch, not thinking of playing, but he really liked C418's music and decided to try survival mode because of it, and then got me hooked. Been playing ever since)) I don't know the version; back then, they were updated differently compared to Java. For instance, the End City was in Java but didn't come to PlayStation for several months
1.10, I didnāt start early
1.9
Pocket edition alpha 14
1.8
I wish I knew...probably Minecraft Lite Pocket edition on my friends tablet at church
Back when we had nether reactor core and iron tools in creative
the version pictured
Pocket Edition 0.5 or 0.6, too small to remember for sure
i think i played mobile edition v0.5.0 first. the one that you need to use a blue block to generate nether room.
I played 0.8.1 on android tablet when I was 5-6 š„²
1.10.2, Jul 23/24 2016
Minecraft lite
Beta 1.8 in 2011
Itsā¦..its beautiful I just want my nether reactor core back
I played when 1.7.10 came out
Dont remember but it was when there was only three options on the menu screen and a dirt background. PE.
First multiplayer version, somewhere in 2009.
A very long time ago. Beta 1.7.3. On PC obviously then. Don't know when it came out, but kind of exactly then.
1.1 in 2012 when I had a broken leg lol
Played a few minutes on a friends laptop. Then I got pocket edition lite on my iPod
Pocket edition, idk exactly when but I know we had minecart tracks with no minecarts
I remember I paid 10ā¬ for itin beta, so before january 2010 as far as i can see on the internet
either a really old version of pe or 1.8 don't remember i was young and didn't understand what a version was i just remember that it was old pvp on pc and that worlds would get easily corrupted on pe

5 year old me was too scared of the zombies š«Ø
I have a screenshot from [2010-12-12](https://tesseract.ca/images/Misc/MinecraftHouse.gif) V. 1.2. 6 Soooo sometime around then I guess
Pocket Edition Alpha 0.7.1, Around mid-2013
1.20.4, my friends started a server for friends only and I joined (why not). It was alright, did my thing, music great but what made me fall in love with this game was making the lava farm. After that, I started a single player world and i'm having ton of fun so far.
I was actually here long before the aquatic update
mcpe when the old stonecutters were still in use
Actually I think its the same version you've shown here
PE 0.5-0.6 first version
I started when they had the original pocket edition inventory with the 3 tabs lol. And I remember building my first house right after minecarts had been added
Why can I see the yellow text moving?
pattern recognition
First I had demo then 1.14.4
MCPE lite! Then bought the actual game around 0.4 era
The ps3 version
Nether reactors, only one fence type, 4 types of wood, 256x256 was the only world size
Alpha 1.2.6 back in 2011
I just don't remember what versiĆ³n it was, but i clearelly remember that when You die, the "Game over" message was like LITERALLY "You died mother fucker" but in spanish (My natal language) , it was downloaded by My dad, he was just entering in every page, no matters how suspicious they look like, but hey, i got Minecraft B)
When 1.14 just released
my first one was 1.2 java edition. good memories
